Good overall vac/mop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this robot for a couple of weeks and overall I think it does a very good job. I also had the previous Shark 2-in-1 vacuum/mop for several years so I'll be referencing some comparisons between them. My floors are all hard surfaces with rugs (thin to shag rugs). The unboxing and setup were easy. Connecting to wifi was pretty quick and setup on the app was easy. I have the vac at one end of my house and I think that has caused a few problems. I had the previous one more in the center and it seemed to do better with finding rooms. Attaching and detaching the mop is very easy also, as is emptying the vacuum. First off this vacuum is slightly taller than the previous one because it has a turret on the top center. I believe this is the air intake for the edge blower it has. It does not pose any problems for vacuuming, it goes all the places the previous vacuum could go. The edge blower system does work pretty well. I was figuring it might be a gimmick but it cleans edges noticeably better than the previous model. Because of the air system there is only a spinning brush on 1 side of the vacuum. From my experience this brush spins 2 fast on hard surfaces and will actually knock larger things out of it's path to the area it already cleaned. Overall it does a good job cleaning the room though. The path it takes is different than the previous. I'm guessing this is the 'matrix' system. It bounces around more back and forth but it does cover everything at least once, some areas multiple times. It takes longer to vacuum than the older model but it also does better cleaning normally so it's not a problem (at least not while the battery is new and holding a full charge). The mopping is much better than the previous model. It seems to scrub better and have a more even control. This will be nice as it keeps us from having to do large cleanings on the floor to often. The app/programming is much improved since I first received the previous model. They have worked out most of the kinks. There are still a few though. If I try to call it to only clean certain rooms it will just spin in circles for a couple minutes by the dock, then return without cleaning. I have to include a room I know if can find then it will do all the ones I selected. It's an inconvenience but not the end of the world. As I mentioned before they either need to program in a control for the sweeper brush speed or have it automatically slow down on hard floors. The control for suction power and mopping flow is very nice though and works well. Overall I think this is an improvement over the previous version of this vac/mop. It was a worthwhile upgrade for us and I hope it holds up as well as the last one has.

Great 2 in1 that needs direction.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Why have 2 separate devices when you could have one that does the work of both? Typically, the answer to that would be that one that does both will do neither job well. This jack of all trades does a pretty good job mastering both mopping and vacuuming. Now only if it could figure out how to read it's own map and get where it needs to go with efficiency. I love robot vacuums and automated gadgets that do stuff for you so you could do more interesting stuff. This Shark AI vacuum/mop hits 2 birds with one stone. It'll mop only the kitchen or only the foyer with not one, but two passes to make sure it got everything. Take off the mop attachment and it will vacuum all over the self created map says it needs to go. If only things work that way out of the box. Like any programmable product, it needs instruction and the way this unit gets it is by using GPS and laser guidance to map out your house. It first connects to Wi-Fi quite easily with the Shark app on your phone. You set up a cute name for it (examples shown for you) like mopsy or robomop and set it on its way to explore. Close any doors you don't want it to go or just mark them as no-go zones in the app once the map has been created. You then overlay room grids and name them, set carpet zones where you don't want the unit to go when in mop mode and the AI then takes over verifying where the boundaries are. Once the AI has learned where you want and don't want it to go, you can set it to work cleaning your house. I was impressed at how much quieter this unit is vacuuming than previous models. There was an awful clicking sound with previous units that this one has considerably diminished, though is still present. Even when mopping, the click is ever-present because it vacuums while mopping. I like how it moves the mopping pad from side to side in a mild scrubbing motion as it travels. You could easily hear the water solution being dispensed as it mops. There are 3 suction speeds and 3 roller speeds as well as an Ultraclean feature that goes over the same area in 2 different patterns to ensure maximum clean. This unit has some serious mapping issues. It doesn't stay where it needs to be when you program it to one room. It goes off to other areas and ends up getting stuck somewhere that's not on the map. It's a major issue that happens all the time. I even deleted the first map and had it retrace. It makes the unit unreliable to leave unattended. Not sure if the AI needs to learn the areas before it gets things right, but will try to update in the future.

Technology is amazing Vac and Mop and Robot in 1
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long gone are the days of lugging around a big heavy vacuum cleaner with a cord long enough to get Indiana Jones across a huge ravine getting all tangled up under you and the wheels too haha. I've wanted to try one of these for the longest time due to me being a paraplegic, saving me the hassle and frustration of trying to wrangle a normal upright vacuum while maneuvering my chair around as well. This Shark AI Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop with Matrix Clean Navigation is a Godsend!! Out of the box you're given a list of accessories including a charging dock, two side brushes, and three mopping pads including a twelve ounce starter bottle of Sharks trademarked VACMOP cleaning solution. Everything is quick and easy to assemble to have you up and running with your new best cleaning buddy! (Side note: My Husky did not know what to think of this little beast roaming around on his territory at first haha) One of the cool features is it's only a mop when you want it to be meaning the mop attachment isn't put on until you need the machine to mop. Otherwise its just a vacuum so it's not constantly dragging around the microfiber mop pad making it dirty when not in use. When you do decide to use the mop attachment again it's quick and simple. Just fill the reservoir with the provided solution, close it up and easily attach it to the vacuum and voila! You're good to go. I wondered how it would work thinking it would have to go over something repeatedly to mop it up but instead the mop part agitates and moves separately as the vacuum moves across the floor. They really did seem to think of it all. The vacuum had great suction and the side brushes really helped to pull in and cover more area. It's really quiet as far as noise. You hardly notice it scooting around. I was really happy with the level of cleaning and simplicity of how easy it was to set up and use. I'd highly recommend it to others!

Works Fairly Well, But Lots of Issues to Fix
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start off saying my total rating would be 3.5/5 stars for this product. I did have high hopes for this robot vacuum, I used to have an older Shark Vacuum robot that honestly was OK, after a year it became quite.... dumb and would just run into everything and not hold a charge. Hopefully that won't be the fate for this one but only time will tell. The setup process was sort of easy, sort of not. The main gripe I have with the whole setup process and just support for the product in general is there really isn't a clear guide on the mopping feature. I spent over an hour trying to troubleshoot why the mopping feature did NOT work. I kept removing the dust bin and clipping in the mop attachment, however, you are supposed to leave the dust bin in and then put the mop attachment on that. It would've been super super helpful if the instructions said this or if anywhere in the app said this, but no, there was no guide on that, no support etc. That was my biggest nightmare trying to figure that out!! But let's go over Pros and Cons of this vacuum. PROS - The map feature, surprisingly works very well. Is it perfect? Not at all. But it is pretty darn accurate, really depends on how much effort you are willing to put into the discovery method where it roams your house and editing the map after. But I think it is a worth your time feature. I tested it by having it go clean certain rooms, and it actually cleaned those rooms, nothing else! - Pretty good suction power, especially on carpet, I was surprised how much dirt and dust it picked up on carpets. CONS - The mopping feature is... lackluster? It works OK but it is absolutely by no means a replacement to regular mopping, think of it more of a first pass just to quickly clean, but you will NOT get a deep clean. I wish the water was hot that came out of it for a better clean. - Still loves to hit every wall and dance in circles randomly. - Lackluster support in the app - Alexa integration is hit or miss - Expensive $$$

Cleans fine, but map and scheduling need work.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.App initially starts out strong, walking you through most of the setup, but then things got a bit confusing for me when it came to carpet zone verification. The app makes it sound like the robot will trace an outline outside of your carpet zones, but it actually traces the inside. Fine tuning the outline of your carpets in the app is cumbersome. Our other vac can distinguish between carpeted/non-carpeted areas, so I was a little disappointed that the Shark couldn’t do the same. When defining rooms/zones in the map, it won’t allow you to set any dividers/walls to anything other than a 90 degree angle. We have one room, which also happens to be a transition from hard floor to carpet, that is at about a 45 degree angle from the main room. So I either set the carpet area smaller, which then gives us a wet carpet, or set the carpet area larger which results in a section of the hard floor not getting mopped. It doesn’t appear to cross a carpeted area to get to a non-carpeted area for mopping, which I guess is a good thing, but something to be aware of. You switch between vac and vac&mop mode by virtue of attaching the mop fluid reservoir. If it’s attached, it’ll vac & mop; if it isn’t, it’ll just vac. The scheduling function is very lacking. You can only have one schedule per day, and it’s fixed to clean everywhere - you can’t schedule specific rooms or zones. Big miss there. Hopefully they can improve in future software/firmware releases. As for vacuuming performance, it does a pretty good job. It definitely does a better job along baseboards/furniture than our other robot vac. Mopping performance is fine as well, considering that’s basically just dragging a microfiber pad across the floor. As with any other robot vac we’ve had, they just can’t compete with the results of using a manual vac/mop, but the convenience is a definite bonus. Overall, I think it has potential, assuming Shark can make a few tweaks/enhancements to the app functionality. However, in its current state, I couldn’t yet recommend this to a friend.

Very nice vacuum/mop combination
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark did a nice job of making a robot vacuum/mop combination. The app is also a nice edition to this set-up. Out of the box the robot vacuum was able to start right up, but I still put it on the charger. It took about 3-4 hours to reach a full charge. After charging I did a house scan which took about a good 45min to an hour because I have a lot of furniture. I have a 3 bedroom house and the living room is not very big and neither is my dining room or kitchen, but it took long scanning because it kept re-routing around the furniture. These type of vacuums are great, in my opinion if you have a big open space, but if you have a lot of furniture in small spaces it is not the greatest. I didn't take any stars away though for that reason because that is not the maker or vacuums fault. Just a heads up for anyone looking to buy one. Once the scan is done, it finds its way back to the dock and recharges. When I looked at the battery, only about 10-15% of the battery was used which not bad. Then you can go into the app, look at the layout and re-scan if you dont like how it scanned or start labeling the rooms. Once I did that I was able to set the vacuum to what I wanted done. The one thing I will say that I did not like or maybe I have not figured out how to adjust this part, is that it does not differentiate between carpet and other floor types. When I was having it mop my kitchen and dining area, it kept trying to go back on the carpet. I wish there was a better feature to fix that. Hopefully if I am wrong, I will figure that part out and other reviewers can correct that mistake Im making. It comes with 2 cleaning cloths and they are re-usable and washable. I just think after so many uses, you may have to buy new ones. So there is that to think of. As far as how well it worked, I think it did a pretty good job. When I cleaned out the dirt compartment, a lot of dust was collected on just one vacuum and I vacuum pretty often in my house. So it did a pretty good job of picking up in my areas my other vacuum was possibly not getting or unable to reach like under our beds. The mop portion was also great, but I still have to go along the edges of the wall with a regular mop because of how it is shaped, it won't get everything. So, dont get rid of your regular mop just yet. That is not a big deal though because it still does a majority of the job. All in all, I would say that this is a pretty great vacuum/mop robot that is going to be very useful in cleaning around our house.

Works Okay
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the my Shark AI Ultra Robot vacuum and mop I've ever owned, and it has been interesting. The unboxing and presentation was good. It came with a ton of accessories that are used to get everything going. I followed the instructions for the setup and got the vacuum charged. The first use was interesting. I had cleaned up my master bedroom in order for the vacuum not to run into any issues. It had some trouble at first, and was not picking up all of the debris on the floor. I thought it would have done a better job. The mop function also is a hot or miss. It is not like someone actually mopping your floor. It will clean small spills and spots, but it definitely does not scrub your floor. I tested it on my kitchen floor which is tile. It performed okay. The app is good. You can setup times and change the settings of the vacuum from the app. Check all of the levels, etc... I don't know if I'd purchase another Shark AI robot after this experience, as it seems like a cool product, but still needs some refinement.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark saved my marriage. I chose the Shark over the Roomba as the Roomba was too short and was getting stuck under my kitchen cabinets. The Shark, however, is perfect and performs better than I had hoped.

Not impressed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I am a huge fan of these robo smart vacuums because I have a dog and she sheds quite a bit! This particular shark vacuum I find that it has a shorter battery life than my other shark vacuums and as for the mopping feature it’s not really the best. I actually thought it would be different but Unfortunately not impressed by its cleaning, I always am finding things that it does not pick up and misses “the mopping feature” also leaves spots like it doesn’t fully mop and also it’s like it’s cleaning with dirty water all over the place. Not sure why or if there is an option to reset it? My house 100% hardwood so we can see everything. As for the app I guess you can say that would be the only good feature because you can set schedules with a click of a button and view the history of the cleanings as well. I probably would recommend this for a smaller space maybe a studio apartment or 1 bedroom but definitely not a whole house with multiple rooms since it does not even do the whole house with one battery life, have to charge and start again (basically run it twice to get the house somewhat cleaned)

Robot is now junk thanks to the APP software.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On 05/20/23, I wanted to use it after months of not using it and I discovered the worst thing: the app lost the map and wouldn't let me remap the house. I tried everything: deleting the robot, reinstalling the robot, factory reset, deleting the account, redownloading the app, but nothing worked. The app couldn't control the robot. I called Shark and waited an hour for a customer representative and they told me it was a software issue that they had no solution for at the moment. They opened a ticket for me but that doesn't help much. They also said it was out of warranty, so I had to use my accidental warranty with BESTBUY for something that wasn't even my fault. I basically paid $110.00 for this robot to sit in my house for over a year and clean only a few times. By the way, do your research because there are a lot of people on Reddit and Google Play Store under the Shark app reviews who have the same problems with these products and Shark knows about it.

Worst robot on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Total joke. Will work great just long enough to get you past the 60 day Best Buy warranty. The. Expect to spend hours and hours over at least 8-10 calls trouble shooting. We’ve spent over 15 hours with shark customer service. They sent a replacement and that one had the same issues. They know it has extensive nav issues and software update issues. Please spare yourself the misery of this horrible piece of equipment. It does not work. It does not navigate to the right rooms. It constantly goes to wrong rooms. Horrible! Horrible!
