    Jaws of the robovac world

Not being a newbie to the robot vacuum world the Shark - AI Ultra Vacuum and Mop with Matrix Clean is worth consideration. I named mine Jawshua.. Set up with the app is very easy and as a bonus the app works and is very user friendly with great options to customize for any cleaning option. My main floor is around 1400 sq ft and it initially took around 40 mins to map the entire area. I of course placed some historically tough obstacles to see how Jawshua would handle them. I was pretty impressed with how he maneuvered under chairs and furniture with feet. The finished map product was very accurate. You have the ability to name rooms, create no go areas and also create carpeted areas to exclude from mopping. I especially like the ability to create high traffic zones. I have set up a higher frequency cleaning of those areas which has been awesome in keeping those areas clean going into fall. Manipulating the map by separating and merging areas was very easy. Having the Shark vac both map and vacuum takes some fine tuning of the map so you don't get wet carpets, but with some patience, trial and error I have reached a pretty good trade off in terms of getting close to the carpet without getting them wet. After the map was complete I changed the furniture layout a bit to confuse Jawshua, it was really no problem. He seems to avoid furniture legs and not actually bump into them so as to not scratch stuff up. The instructions include quick start info, using the mop feature/attachment is pretty intuitive. Included is an initial trial size of the floor cleaner. To test he mop feature I split my dining room in half on the app, cleaned one half by hand with a mop and left the other half as is. I cleaned each half of the room with a fresh cleaning pad to start (you get an extra one). As expected the dirty side of the dining room resulted in a pretty soiled pad, but to my surprise the side of the room I cleaned also had a fair amount of soil on the pad. Even better the dirty side seemed to be pretty clean. The floors felt good to walk on and squeaked under my sneakers. Mopping 170 sq ft took approximately 27 minutes, good in my book. Utilizing the vacuum saw very similar results as mopping. Freshly vacuumed carpet still had debris collect in the bin and dirty carpet had more. Emptying the dust bin is very easy and the filtration system seems to be effective in not releasing the captured dust back into the air. Whether mopping or vacuuming you have the ability to clean rooms, zones or spot clean. Scheduling is simple through the app. I would recommend this product.

This is my first ever robot vacuum and I definitely went with the vacuum mop combination because why wouldn't you, LOL. Obviously I could have splurged and spent several hundred more dollars to get one that empties itself...but at the end of the day you still have to empty it eventually somewhere else, right? I got a great deal on this when it was on sale for $249 and it has already paid for itself within the first week. Saving me so much time and labor staying on top of the filth on the floors from my two big dogs! I really wish I hadn't waited so long to get one but I'm glad I got one for the price I did. It moves easily once you map your space and it tells you when it's bin is full; it tells you if it's runs out of fluid. It tells you when it can't get back to the charging dock - it charges itself. You can set a schedule for when you want it to run. I have no complaints. It's very easy to clean. I will just definitely be buying some more by mop pads because they get very dirty and it only comes with two. Highly recommend!

I’ve only had it for a day. So far, so good. Its bigger than my old Tikom whose motor died after two years. It took longer than expected for the vacuum to fully charge. It got it for the combo feature and the ability to map out rooms. The initial mapping was so quick i thought it hadn’t done the job so i redid it. But once it started vacuuming, it did a very thorough and excellent job. I like the inclusion of a sample mopping solution. It is very noisy, though. I thought something was wrong. The app is very basicand not necessary user friendly to set up. Some additional features I’d recommend is being able to locate the vacuum or follow its progress on the map.

I feel like AI is being pushed to a lot of robot vacuums and I still have yet to see it really outsmart a regular robot vacuum. Here comes another contender from Shark with a vacuum and mop combo. The initial setup of installing the vacuum and getting the app booted and ready to go on my phone was easy enough. I did not have any issues when connecting it to the app. On first run, it does the mapping and that was easy and quick enough to have it map out my home. Then came the no mop zone mapping. It does a decent job of getting the zones right but you can always custom zone to make sure you do not get any carpet wet when it goes out to mop. Now I have a large Chocolate Labrador Retriever and he is always going in and out from his doggy door. This has been helpful in not only being able to pickup his dog hairs when vacuuming but also getting all the dirt and debris from mopping. When avoiding obstacles, it does a decent job. When cornered, it does get a little lost at times and tried to navigate itself but I have noticed it takes a few attempts and seems like it just has gone crazy. It does pickup debris rather nicely but it isn't perfect. You have control via the app to setup a cleaning schedule to your zones. A nice addition is that it can be controlled via Alexa or Google Assistant. For the device itself, it is a standard sized robot vacuum that includes the charging dock, 2 side brushes, floor cleaner solution, 2 mopping pads, and 1 filter.

    Good Machine, Software improvements needed

The Shark AI Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop with Matrix Clean Navigation is my newest tech investment. I currently have another robot vac/mop with self empty bin (Deebot brand). I love my first one, but it has a couple limitations. First, the empty bin has a vacuum bag that it empties into. All my upright vacs are bagless, so it was very disappointing to have the cumbersome vacuum bag come back into the picture, not to mention the added cost to replace the bags. The second limitation is the battery life. I felt that having a second robot vacuum/mop would finally allow me to clean up the whole house in one day. Back to the Shark AI Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop...this machine has a lot of impressive qualities and some room for improvement. The pros: -The mapping process for the house is faster than my other vac. It probably took a third of the time as my other. -The Shark vac robot has a spot clean feature that you can activate by taking the bot to a location and pressing the clean button on the robot and it will clean a 5' x 5' area. It will mop or vac. If the mop plate is on, it will mop. I love this because spaces like water closets and laundry rooms (that are an inch or two lower in elevation) can now be cleaned too! Yay! I just set it down and viola. My laundry room is not on either map for my 2 robot vacs because it drops a small step down. - It comes with two quality reusable mopping pads. The attachment design is sturdy too. -The mopping performance is actually really good compared to other robot vac/mops. It does more than one pass on the standard-clean and on the ultraclean it does even more passes. The mopping feature won me over. -The battery charges quickly. -The battery life is extensive. I can vacuum 3 rooms, a hallway, and 2 bathrooms and still have charge left for other areas. - The self cleaning brush roll for the most part really does stay free of hair. -The charging dock has a small footprint and fits well in tighter areas. -Since it does not self empty, I don't need to worry about buying more vacuum bags. -It navigates around my piano keyboard stand without any issues. (My other vac is vexxed by that stand.) -The vacuuming performance is acceptable and since it does multiple passes, it feels very thorough. The Cons: -It's height does not allow it to go under my china cabinet, but my other vac can. -It avoids cleaning under my bar stools, even though there is plenty of clearance. **To compensate, I do the 5' x 5' spot clean trick. -During the mapping process, the vac fell down into my laundry room. It could not decect the two inch drop in elevation, my other one does detect this. **I now have it mapped as a "no-go" zone. -The Mapping feature can't tell between carpet and hardwood to automatically plot it. -The Map allows you to place borders to section off rooms, BUT the smallest section you're allowed to work with 14.5' x 14.5'. I HATE THIS!!! If you want to designate carpeted areas (Yes, you need to put them on the map if you want it accurate), it often runs into other rooms. So my master bedroom is carpeted and the bathroom isn't. If I put carpet on my master bedroom it messes up the mopping for the bathroom because it overlaps in one corner. So I have my master bedroom marked as NO carpet which is incorrect. This is a software issue. PLEASE FIX IT. I have an area rug 5'x 8' that I can't mark down because it's too small. My other vac does not limit custom sizes at all. -No-Go zones can't be any smaller than 14.5 feet x 14.5 feet (like the carpet zones). That is the size of a room! If want just one corner or section, forget it. A square that big bleeds over into other rooms. -I can't start a new cleaning command on the app until the vac is back at the doc. So for example, if I vacuum my bathroom first and then I attach the mopping plate after it's done vacuuming, there is not an "end task" option. It has to go back to the dock before another command can be given. Then, because my master bathroom attaches to my carpeted master bedroom, I have to attach the mopping plate after it crosses the carpeted area to then begin mopping. -The filter is set into the dust bin in a difficult position to clean its outer protective screen. -No cleaning tools are included to reach the tight spaces in the dust bin. **I have found that on old paintbrush does some of the job removing the dust from the dust bin. This must be performed outside because dust flies everywhere using this method. To really get it clean though, I had to remove the hepa filter first and then rinse the dust bin with tap water and let it air dry. I decided to don't his on my own, I didn't see deatiled directions on how to clean it thoroughly. The instructions need improvement! -Opening the dust bin is awkward because dirt can spill out of such a large surface area and the large entry hole. I prefer an easy open door type design. -After mopping, the dust bin was damp so it was hard to discard the dirt. (Make sure to empty bin before mopping or dirt gets caked in there.) -Another software disappointment is that you can't watch the robot's cleaning progress in real time. I have to access the history to see what was cleaned (only after it's all done). And then I'm let down further because you still don't see the path, you see only a colored room or wide colored path. -The side brush is sort of laughable. It has ONE brush projection sticking out on only one side. My other robot vac has 2 brushes, one on each side and 3 brush projections on each brush (like a windmill). -The instructions are limited in the box and also on the website. I couldn't figure out how to put the mop plate on. I took off the dust bin first to put on the mop plate. No wonder I couldn't get it to work. I called tech support because the mop option wouldn't even show up on the map. -The brush roll flap (a piece of the black rubber flap that is behind the main brush wheel) already ripped. Called tech support to find out if it's covered under warranty. It is considered a "wearable part" and is my cost to replace. I'd need to replace the brush wheel door for $7.95 but they don't have that part yet because it's so new. Not sure how much shipping will cost if I had ordered the part. I will not replace any time soon. It will just bust again until they find a better material to use instead of that cheap one that's on there now. Having laid out all the pros and cons, I will say that I still like the Shark vac/mop. On day one and two I only saw all the software flaws. However, as I used it more its performance won me over. This means there is hope that the software can improve and thus make the experience a lot more enjoyable. If they want to compete with the other brands, I think making those adjustments would easily accomplish that.

Overall we are very happy to have this since it has really helped keeping our house clean. The vacuum is easy to clean and maintain. It is very inexpensive for a 2-in-1 system. Positive: Really gets stuck and it can easily get over transitions that are about 1/4-in tall. Mapping is very good. It does a good job vacuuming and gets under beds and areas that normally never get touched. Navigation without having a mapped room is great. Negative: The app is a must without it functionality is limited. The app has a hard time with complex WiFi passwords. I used a DMZ WiFi instead of my primary because of this. The zones don't go small enough for tight spaces for me. Smallest it can go is 3.32 x 2.69 ft. This is an issue for a no-go zone for our dog water tray. No pet mess detection... We already had an issue. Small capacity. The pre-filter is hard to clean. I end up using an air compressor every couple of days. I would highly recommend going with the self emptying version instead. It is worth the extra money.

Product works well. It's intuitive once the mapping is complete. We have dogs and it has made all the difference. The only con I would say is that the bin that connects the trash isn't easily disposed of and it's a bit noisy. Other than that it works well for us

The best robot vacuum! It took a few tries to get the mapping correct, but now it works amazingly. I had a different robot vacuum before but this one picks up so much more dirt. I did a test where I ran the old one right before I ran this one. This one still picked up so much dirt that the other one didn't.

This thing is the best well worth the price. The mapping is spot on and being able to pick which room to clean is perfect. It is crazy how much this thing picks up especially if you have pets. Haven't tried the mop yet. My only minor complain is the battery life.

As a loyal fan of the Shark vacuum, I was excited to purchase the AI Ultra 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop. The smart features are genuinely impressive—WiFi connectivity, home mapping, and easy scheduling that lets me start a clean from anywhere. It's made daily upkeep far more convenient. Unfortunately, the mopping function falls short. While the floors look clean after a run, a swipe with a paper towel still picks up more grime than expected for daily mopping. It seems to drag dirt rather than trap it, and surprisingly, the mop pad itself isn’t that dirty after each session. That makes me question how much it's actually collecting. Overall, it’s a great helper for surface cleaning and vacuuming, but the mop could use a serious upgrade in effectiveness. Shark nailed the tech—but the clean needs more work.

The Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 Robot Floor Cleaner is a very good machine and was very easy to set up. I downloaded the app to my cell phone and the connection to the robot was very easy. After the charge was complete I let it map out my kitchen, the dining room and the living room. Once it mapped an area you can save it and give it instructions to just clean the area selected. I love this feature because some rooms need swept more often than others. While it cleaned the kitchen I picked up the other areas. When the sweeping was done, I emptied the dirt compartment and then attached the mopping pad and reservoir. I put it back on the landing/charging mat and went to the app. It already knew it had the mopping pad attached and was ready to mop the kitchen floor. It was better on the hardwood floor than the tile floor but the tile floor was more soiled being it was the kitchen. The floor was barely damp when it finished and it didn’t have any streaks. Another plus! I would highly recommend this product.

Purchased as a gift for my mom. She ended up not wanting the combo with the mop. It does a decent job, I cant complain. 2117 sq ft home, it does everything but the bedrooms and thats when the battery dies and needs to charge. Ive not used the mop option due to the sqft and how small the tank is.

This robot mops really well but it does seem to get stuck on a small rug of ours. For this reason and the fact that the battery is not very large, I am giving it 4 stars. It's a great vacuum and mop but on my for small spaces. It would be better if I had 2 or 3. Also don't like the fact we can't store multiple maps which is a huge turn off.

Best purchase I think I’ve ever made. I run “Joshua” every day after dinner and it mops up the giant mess my kids make. This little robot vacuum/mop has been a savior. Between kids and dogs it’s sometimes hard to stay on top of the vacuuming and mopping. With this I just run it in the morning and at night and the house feels so much cleaner. We noticed even with the dogs shedding there is less and less hair and dust collecting. It’s easy to use and because of the app I can be at work and set the robot to run the house. It’s great.
