Sensor isnt the best
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First one we got the sensor wasnt working we were cooking spraying cleaning supplies etc. It always said 100% returned it got a 2nd one. This one does change when we cook or when the windows are open. The purifier itself is great but im still not sold on the sensing capabilities.

A Must Have!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fantastic unit. It is absolutely whisper quiet on the low setting. I constantly use the auto feature so the filter takes care of all the factoring on when to raise or lower the 4 fans. The unit also has a very clear display on both the top and front. Colors red, yellow then blue, will tell you the condition of the quality of the air. There is also a percentage read out of the air quality as well. It has a very sleek design so it looks good anywhere you decide to place it. It also comes with a remote control which you can monitor and operate all functions of the device. It made a dramatic difference in my room within 24 hours. I plan on buying another for my gameroom.

Quiet air filtration for any room
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've really liked using the Shark Air Purifier 4 for the past month. This system is really really quiet, it can run in the background of my office and is completely ignorable. The auto-setting where the air purifier detects your air quality and runs at the correct fan speed typically runs on low, with 44 dB of noise. My old air purifier that this replaced ran at 53 dB on low. Even when things get bad, the Shark with 4 smaller fans runs at 59 dBs which is way way lower than the 72 dBs of a one fan device. It took a while (like a week) for the system to "learn" my room and provide me feedback other than 99 - 100 percent clean, I now get much more variable results that I trust a little more. Ultimately this is a quest unit that seems to do a great job of detecting when air quality is going down and adjusting the fan speed to accommodate. I have it in a room that is around 160 sq ft and it responds FAST to changes and can clean out the room in less than 2 minutes -- I'm sure it could handle my larger living room (250 sq ft or so) in less than 5 minutes as well. I like the details information about the quality of the air it provides, including how clean as a percentage, how long it will take to clean the room, and how many small and micro particles are in the air. I do worry about the cost of filters, my last air purifier was $$$$ to replace and I haven't seen the replacements for these available yet to know. I love the 12 hour timer so I can set this at the beginning of my day on auto and just let it run without worrying about forgetting when I logout (easy to do since its so quiet!). FYI: I live in a relatively small house with pets and kids where we cook from home. I was surprised that this doesn't have Bluetooth or internet connectivity to manage the air purifier as a smart device. Overall it shouldn't be necessary although being able to schedule so this runs a little bit even on days that I'm away would be nice -- good for people to know before purchasing that the only connectivity this has is to its remote.

Quietly Awesome.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Air Purifier 4 is very good at what it does. Once the very easy unboxing and setup is complete, it sits in the corner and quietly does its job. The unit comes well packaged, but unboxing and setup took just a few minutes, and just involves removing some wrapping and a few pieces of protective material, inserting the filter, and powering the unit up. Once turned on, the unit analyzes your indoor air quality, and provides the results as a value from 0-100% with 100% being the best score. It does this by measuring the concentration of contaminants in the air in parts per million. It then automatically turns on its fans and begins circulating your home's air through its HEPA filter, removing contaminants. As you go about your day, you may notice the fans speeding up, and the display value going down when you do something that introduces contaminants into the air. Cooking is the most common source of angst for our filter. Burning the grilled cheese sandwiches, for instance, will result in an angry red display and highest possible fan speed. The machine is a bit noisy with the fans on high, but the fan speed can be reduced using the front panel controls, or the included remote, to reduce noise if necessary, it will just take longer for the contaminants to be removed and the air quality to be improved. Most of the time, our machine displays 94-100% air quality, and the fans run on their slowest speed. When the fans need to run on high, air quality is quickly restored, and orders are quickly removed. We've also noticed that we sneeze much less frequently, which is awesome. Overall, I believe our air is much cleaner. We rarely notice the air purifier is operating, and cooking aromas and other odors are kept nicely at bay as well. I'd absolutely recommend the Shark Air Purifier 4 or any of their other models that fit your space and needs.

Great blend of features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark is my favorite air purifier, a "Goldilocks" model that has all the features I like, with none that make it complicated. I have a huge filter that covers a lot of sq. footage, sounds like a jet engine, but tells me nothing about the air. I have another one that is fairly quiet, tells me everything possible, but needs my wifi along with an app and represents yet another vendor to keep an account/password with. With this Shark, I get the best of both--it will tell me air quality info on its nice display panel, I can change settings with a remote, and the setup was an absolute snap. And it's quiet! You can leave the Purifier 4 in auto mode, or keep it under manual control. Since I found it to be very quiet, I keep in manual mode on low in my theater room. At that setting, it's quieter than my AC. Even set to maximum it is still fairly quiet, and is not even half as loud as my loudest filter is. So far, in my time using it, it's been able to do a great job keeping the air quality high with continuous running on low. After burning something in the kitchen, which filled the house with smell and smoke, I turned it maximum to more quickly help clear the air. Otherwise, it's been a nice addition to my theater room, keeping the air clean at a barely audible level which doesn't interfere with watching movies while unobtrusively sitting off to the side. If you're looking for a good air filter that's quiet and has a minimum of fuss while still being feature-rich, the Shark Air Purifier 4 should be on your list. Recommended.

Excellent
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does immediately begin cleaning the smells out the air once detected which is a good thing but also has it down side that doesn't bother me so much. It clears my fragrance out the air as well so I feel it does detect it as possibly toxic. My baby boy was very sick with a horrible cough and wanted to lay around in my bedroom. I do feel this purifier did keep him from passing it to me since he passed the virus to his siblings who weren't near the purifier. It's quiet and simple to use. Love everything about it.

Shark AirFinity 4 Purifier - Absolutely The Best!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was pleased to receive the Shark AirFinity 4 Fan air purifier as I needed one for my bedroom due to allergy issues. The past air purifiers I've owned have had loud fan noise and/or the lights were just too bright, especially for sleeping. Well folks this one is PERFECT! It's a floor standing model with 3 separate light settings...from high, low to completely off. So in the day I like to monitor the air purification in my room but at night I just want it running and this does the trick. Now about the sound...there are 4 different fan speeds. I have found using the AUTO mode keeps my purifier running normally at the lowest speed (will change when needed however) while keeping my room at 100% clean air. Sound? What sound? The lowest setting is barely audible and I sleep wonderfully without any aggravating fan noise whatsoever. You always know the air quality as there is a big round circle of light on the top and the front going from blue (excellent 85-100), orange (fair 70-84) and red (poor 0-69). This is by far the simplest air cleaner I've ever owned and it is a quality built product. The filter will be a breeze to change and I have had virtually no problems with the unit at all. It has touch controls across the entire top panel making it even more convenient. If you are in the market for a high quality purifier I highly recommend this Shark! In my opinion they just don't get much better than this!! Most impressive and well worth the price of $349.99! You won't be disappointed!!

Put to the test, works great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great air purifier! I live near a factory so air pollutants are always a concern and my significant other has asthma so we need to be careful not to set her off. I love how it has a visible air quality percentage display to show it is actually working rather than assuming since it is on, it must work. I’ve tested with hair spray, vapor smoke, and with running the vacuum cleaner nearby kicking up dust and it always recognizes immediately a change in the air quality by showing the percentage go down and adjusts itself accordingly to get back to 100% air quality which as I mentioned, is very important for my asthmatic girlfriend and both our overall lung health. If the last year has proved anything it’s that we need to take care of ourselves and have a clean environment and that needs to start with the air we breath. Highly recommend this especially for the ability to see on demand if your air quality isn’t great.

Sleek, modern look with quiet operation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This air purifier has a sleek, modern look and operates very quietly. The device has both a touchscreen interface and a remote. It should be noted that the remote is a little finicky. You need to aim it directly at the circle on the front of the unit. Otherwise, it doesn't appear to work. I love that the touchscreen has a readout that shows the current air quality. With so many air purifiers, you run them without a clue as to whether or not they're doing any good. This one has a nice visual indicator showing you exactly how well it's working. The machine also has an auto mode that will adjust fan speed depending on the current air quality (or you can just override it to run at whatever speed you want). I haven't been able to locate replacement filters yet, so I can't speak to how affordable they'll be, but so far I'm absolutely loving this air purifier.

works as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife had been having trouble sleeping and always seemed congested and we thought it might be allergies or dust in the air. I saw that the Shark air purifier was on sale and we decided to try it. We've not been disappointed . She sleeps better and it works just as advertised. It even removes minor odors in the air from the cook stove.
