Q: What is the cost of replacement filters?
A: Good luck with finding a filter no one has had them for MONTHS!!! Not even the shark website
A: I've had my Shark 600 series for 3 days, and it never went off of 100%. I questioned this bc I have 3 cats and live off a gravel road. So after reading all I could about the Shark purifiers I tried putting it in the kitchen when I was cooking beacon. It was only a few minutes be for it went red. So I know it's working. Have you tried that?
Q: How often does the filter need replacing? Can one clean it in between replacements?
A: We recommend changing the filter every 6-12 months. When the filter needs to be changed, the FILTER LIFE button will flash. The filters are not washable.
A: I have ours centrally located in our apartment. I think that if you are closing doors off it would impact how well it worked. I just keep the room doors open and it has done an outstanding job of keeping the air quality good.
Q: Does the HEPA filter help with weed smoke? No one asked so I figured I would get the ball rolling.
A: Yes, it will filter any small particles in the air. It will filter weed smoke by capturing the fine airborne particles in the filter. Some of these particles cause odor which can also be reduced. My daughter lit a candle the other day and I was surprised that our filter detected the extra particles in the air and filtered them. Particles that land and cling to surfaces will not be filtered so it won’t be enough to eliminate odors but will reduce them so it “helps” with weed smoke.
A: i Have severe dog allergies and two dogs. One dog sleeps in my sons room and sheds badly even with Zyrtec I still can’t be in the room. I feel asleep in the room and was fine with the purifier and my little one no longer wakes up with sniffles
Q: Is this effective at getting rid of mold spores in the air.
A: I perused the questions to seek out this same thing. There are two questions on this subject and Shark hasn't responded to either, although they have responded to other questions within the same time frame. I was very interested in this unit, but this leads me to believe I can't depend on it for helping with the mold issue in my place, which is imperative. For that reason I will need to choose something else as a non answer has to be taken as a negative answer.
Q: Does this remove radon from the air
A: According to the manual, radon is not covered. Your crawlspace should be covered in 6 mill plastic sheeting to help prevent radon.
