This is one amazing Vacuum Cleaner. Agreed that I was upgrading form a basic Dirt Devil but the performance of this guy is just great. Here are some of my observations: Pros: Bagless Very strong suction Modular design and hence could be used in myriad ways Self-propelled (not sure if it's the right term but the floor brush moves on automatically). Hence, very little effort is needed to push. Ball-joint kind of mechanism above the floor brush which makes maneuvering super easy in upright mode (more on this later). 5 year VIP warranty Cons: Feels heavy in a while if Powered Lift-Away mode is used Maneuvering is not easy if you are in Powered Lift-Away mode Needless to say but this is one amazing vacuum. You can't go wrong with this. Buy it if you can afford to spend 400 on a vacuum.

    Very Versatile

Assembly was very easy. The first thing I noticed was how quiet the motor is. Also has very bright led lighting on the base and the handle. Really liked the ability to use just the handle with attachments and separate the canister from the base. All parts detach and reattach very easily and fit quite well together. The main motor head is very heavy and in my opinion compensates for the lack of suction power. (keeps pressure on the floor/carpet) When compared to another brand that I own, I did not feel this was as powerful, but where it lacks in power it makes up in versatility. The separate motorized cleaning tool motor also appears weak. I have to be careful not to put to much pressure on it. The canister is a bit too small and requires a bit more emptying. I do feel the materials are well constructed however, It does include 4 attachments, but, only 2 will fit on the machine. The roller separation feature works quite well with hair removal, probably the best feature of this machine.

    Another Great Shark Vacuum

I used to be a hoover vacuum guy, but the last few Shark products I have had convinced me there are the new leader in vacuum technology! Lightweight and easy to maneuver, very easy to empty and clean, and this model has the power pet hair remover, which does a great job picking up pet hair! It also works great on wood floors, and the new hair removal system looks very interesting; my wife has long hair, and its always a pain to have to cut it off the rollers; supposedly this model keeps if off automatically, so we will see. Anyway, if you are Dyson or Hoover fan, its worth your while to switch to Shark, as these are great units, well made, light weight, and alot less expensive than the Dyson stuff!

We received our new Shark upright vacuum a little over a week ago. Being excited to try it, it was immediately unpacked and put to work. Amazing! This is one powerful vacuum. We did one room , carpet only and when emptied it was half full. Pro's on this unit are as follows: 1- powerful 2-very easy to clean canister 3- decent length on power cord 4- well built Cons on this unit: Wish the power cord was slightly more flexible. It seems Shark has a tendency toward stiff cords. While well built , expect it to be heavy. It is. Although it's powerful, at times it has to run over things several times to pick it up.

Cheap build poor quality if you purchase it make sure you get the extended warranty. The first one the power head stoped working after 3 month’s, and the second one just lost suction after 5 months.

Soft roller mechanism burnt out less than a year after I purchased this. This is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used. They don’t make things that last anymore.

I love shark and was very disappointed in this product. The hair wrapping tech was ok; however, the suction was equal to my current shark that is five years old. I needed up returning it.

I've had this vacuum for 4 years. I usually use it weekly. In that time I have continued to be impressed by the performance of the vacuum. The anti-wrap feature works well. The soft brush seems a little gimmicky but it does help pick up some objects. This vacuum picks up cat hair from my cats without any issue. With that being said,I have deducted a star for lack of repairability. I had to find a part on eBay, but I should have been able to buy it from Shark directly. It's just a piece of plastic for crying out loud! Shark would rather make a dollar and create garbage instead of doing the right thing.

I'm really very impressed with this vacuum unit. It really sucks well, is easy to handle and maneuver, and transforms into several different units! You go from an upright to a canister vac to a stick vac to a mini power roller. Whatever the cleaning situation, this vac's got you covered. The power roller acts like a mini version of the main unit and the dust brush is easy to get to the places you need to dust just by swiveling the head. The light on the wand is great when detached looking into those hard to reach spots in corners or under the sofa. I haven't really noticed what the Zero-M feature is, but I guess that's the point, so you don't have to worry about wraparound hair or string binding. The dust collection bin opens from the bottom or the top for easy dumping and cleaning. I haven't really found any issues with it except maybe not having a location on the unit to put the other 2 accessories that come with it. I think it beats the other more expensive units out there!

    I'm a believer

I have never been one to be convinced of buying high-end vacuum cleaners. They all serve the same purpose, so no one is better than the other. Then, I was fortunate enough to try this vacuum cleaner. What a difference. It's the little things that make a difference. The different types of attachments really do make a difference. The greatest feature I never knew I would love, is the light! it's bright enough that when I go over my hardwood, I can see the dust that is accumulated in certain spots that I have missed. The dash brush does great going underneath cabinets and dressers. The upholstery tool made going under couch cushions super simple and quick. And to be able to use the wand at different heights really makes a difference in multi-level cleaning. As of yet, I haven't found a true negative for this vacuum cleaner except that the squareness of it can be a bit bulky. So as I'm writing this review, I am a believer and I get what all the fuss is about. Great vacuum!

I currently own 2 Shark vacuums. I have 2 because they each have features I need. The new APEX DuoClean has all the features of the 2 Sharks I currently have, which makes it the prefect vacuum cleaner for me. Since we have a Siberian Husky that seemingly sheds year round, we love the pet tool. And the suction is phenomenal. And being able to detach the canister is a huge plus. It makes it easy to use in the car, for ceiling fans, on stairs, etc. Great suction, specialized tools, and Shark build quality make the Shark APEX DuoClean the ultimate vacuum cleaner.
