Customers highly value the BreatheClear MAX for its exceptional air purification performance, which many users credit with providing significant allergy relief. The device is frequently praised for its quiet operation, impressive screen quality, and sleek design. Air Purifier

I am very disappointed with this purifier. I bought it on May 17th, and just 17 days later, it indicates that the sensor is blocked. When I called Best Buy customer service, they told me they couldn't help me because the warranty period is only 15 days, and that I would have to deal directly with the manufacturer. It carries a very high price tag of $449. I usually use Dyson products; if you have the option, buying a Dyson purifier is the better choice. I ended up having this bad experience just to save a few dollars—and I have never written a negative review before. Now I have to contact the manufacturer directly to validate the warranty. :(

BIG & efficient air purifier - no filter changes!

There's a lot to like about this Shark BreatheClear MAX air purifier. First, to my mind, is the VERY low maintanence. As a long-time allergy sufferer, I'm a big air purifier user and one of my biggest gripes is that it seems like I'm continuously ordering or changing a filter somewhere. With this Shark model though, the filter is rated to last SIX YEARS! That's crazy and it makes the Shark not only low maintanence but also a better value than you'd think (with other purifiers, they might be cheaper up front, but then you pay over and over again for filters). But, purely (ha) being low maintanence isn't enough - and thankfully that's not all the Shark BreatheClear MAX brings to the table. It has a plethora of modes including a SOLID automatic mode (if you can't tell from the first paragraph, I love set it and forget it devices) that scans the air and adjusts accordingly, including with night-time settings so that it doesn't suddenly kick up to the max in the middle of the night if you have it in your bedroom or nearby. The display is clear and easy to read which I like and you can view air quality over time for those like me who are a bit geeky and want to see that. The air purifier and the filter inside are REALLY large - this is the biggest air purifier I've owned - which I think contributes to both the long filter life and the overall quiet nature of the purifer (though it can get louder on higher settings of course) while still moving a lot of air. And it does seem to work VERY well, as I've already noticed a reduction in allergy symptoms since setting this up despite it being the peak of pollen season in my area as I write this. I've also noticed a more neutral smell to the air / fewer lingering smells (after cooking or whatnot) which is nice. Shark tried to work on the industrial design and it's not bad, but given the overall size, it's still a noticeable presence in any room which is something to consider as you balance design / style vs clean air. But if you or anyone in your home is an allergy sufferer, then you'll know the tradeoff is well worth it. So if you could use cleaner air in your home with no muss, no fuss and a set-it-and-forget-it simplicity, this is the purifier to get. Give it a try today!

Great Air Filter With Long Filter Life!

So far loving everything about this Shark Air Filter, from the look to the technology, and especially the longevity of the filter! The biggest downside with home air filters is that you generally need to replace the air filter every 6 months, which ends up being a costly subscription. Or worse, they stop making the model and discontinue the filter replacements, forcing you to go buy a new air filter system. Although this is called "Never Change", it's not technically true. At some point you'd have to change the filter. However, that won't be for 6 years! The savings from not replacing the filter almost pays for the unit on it's own. That's incredible! The unit has a sleek and modern look, although I wouldn't hate a little fabric or texture on the plastic side panels for a slightly more upscale look. The digital display is a nice feature and easy to see where the air quality is at based on color and the large digital readout. Coming from another, similar sized air purifier that we have had for several years, I will say that the Shark has kicked on in instances where the last one didn't. That tells me that it's more sensitive and doing a better clean. The prefilters are easily accessed on the sides of the unit for cleaning to keep everything running efficiently. Overall, I'm happy with it and it seems to be doing it's job. The fact that the main filter lasts 6 years is by far the biggest selling point of this unit, aside from the performance and features. I would definitely recommend this!

    Breath of Feesh Air

Shark's BreathClear Max is an excellent air purifier. This isn't my first shark air purifier, I still have my HE6. I had it in my bedroom for the longest time until I moved it to my living room so that meant I needed a new ine for my bedroom. I've had only a great experience with the HE6 so I expected the same with the new BreathClear Max. The BreathClear Max has smart sense technology which when running scans the air 3600 times and hour to adjust and clean the air as needed to maintain purity, along with the 6yr HEPA filter means you're going to get a long time of use. I put the unit in my bedroom and saw it read my air quality was 79% so I set it to full blast to get on purifying the air and after about 35min it got the air in my bedroom to 100% clean air quality, which is pretty good for a space of 1386cu ft. I love that because if the air isnt clean then my allergies go crazy and I'm uncomfortable when I sleep. Also the air purifier looks great and is easy to read with the digital dispaly. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the BreathClear Max, if its your first air purifier you'll love it and breath a sigh of relief.

Powerful scrubbing yet quiet while at work

Updated technology seems to be at play with this Shark air purifier. As soon as you turn it on it calibrates to learn the quality of the air of the room you’ve placed it in before it goes hard at work. I was shocked to learn the room was at 79% and in the Orange range. It’s a room I particularly care more about the quality of the air than some of the others and have tried to keep it clean but yet here Shark proved me wrong. I let it do it’s job of scrubbing the air and reducing the particulate matter causing the air to be subpar before the air purifier was put into place. The air purifier has a graph which can show you various information on which particulates are polluting your air. It has a sleep mode. It takes 5 minutes to calibrate each time you turn it on. The Shark has an indicator to inform you how long before you need to change both the pre-filter (mine stated about 2 months) and the more heavy duty filter (6 years before it needs changing). You can have the lights in the panel on or off for a more dark sleeping experience or leave on for a night light experience. The Shark is light and I move it very easily in between 2 rooms. The rooms I use them in are about 12x10 each and they have vents for central heating and central AC, just to give you an idea the environment they are being used in. I highly recommend this powerful, lightweight, innovative, easy to use air purifier made by Shark.

I have had a number of different air cleaners for my home including one that was a true ionizer that would make the air incredibly clean but also smell like an aquarium. After using this one for the past week I think I have found a really good alternative to the aquarium smell and still have clean air. To start this is a sleek looking unit that would fit into just about any decor. Unpacking and setup was simple, make sure to remove the filters from the plastic bags before using! Once everything is setup the on-screen menus walk you through the final setup steps. Once the initial setup is complete the machine really just does its thing based on what's goin on. Cooking in the kitchen, it automatically adjusted and kicked into a higher gear. The display on the front can also tells you what it is detecting and how clean the air currently is. Once it get the quality of the air down to the desired level, it again automatically adjusts the speed down. With all this the unit is extremely quiet. In it's high speed mode you hear a gentle whisp of air. Great unit especially if you like having contaminants including pollen taken out of the air through the HEPA filtration! Well worth it!

    Clean air- less filter changing

The Shark BreatheClear MAX is the perfect way to get clean air inside your home. Its on board sensors will monitor current air conditions and adjust the fan accordingly. The sensor will also sense activity in the room and adjust itself which is pretty cool. Setup is very straight forward. Only thing I will say about setup is to make sure you open up the filter housing and remove any tape and plastic wrap before operating the purifier. The longevity of the HEPA filter is basically determined by the 3 prefilters. You get a debris filter, pet particle barrier and activated carbon filters all before the air even touches the HEPA filter. Obviously, keeping these cleaned regularly is important. Especially if you have pets. We have 2 cats, 2 dogs and 2 chinchillas. Needless to say, we have a lot of animal hair throughout the house. Having an air purifier that doesn't need constant filter replacement is a big plus. So far it has been working great and air smells and feels clean. If you are looking for an air purifier that can handle a larger area check this one out. Works great and I definitely recommend.

The Shark BreatheClear MAX is an absolute game changer in my home air filtration. The thought of not having to change filters all the time is such a relief, and a huge money saver! I use this amazing air purifier in my home gym and it is perfect in every way. I love that it gives me the air quality right on the screen, so I always know that it is doing its job. The motion sensor is also a feature I have never experienced before. It is very nice that it will ramp up the speed of cleaning the air when someone is near the filter. This air filter is very sound efficient as well. Most filters I have used that can clean a rooms air as fast as this one can are a little noisy, this one is surprisingly quite which is a nice touch. The Shark also moves a lot of air, this device can take care of some of the larger areas of your house with no issue. All of the features on the Shark BreatheClear MAX are going to ensure that you breathe easy, don’t go broke constantly buying air filters, and do all of this with a quiet air filter you will forget is even there.

I’ve been very impressed with the Shark BreatheClear MAX Air Purifier so far. I got it for my open living room/kitchen, and it has no problem keeping up with the space; the air feels less stuffy and cooking smells clear out way faster than before. This is the first time I’ve used an air purifier in a long time and this model is much improved in its ability to clean the air than the one I had years ago. I guess air purifier technology has advanced a lot over the years. The big thing that sold me was the NeverChange filter technology, which is supposedly up to six years without swapping filters, which is perfect for me because I’m terrible at keeping up with that kind of maintenance, in fact I’m the sort of person that forgets to change the HVAC air filter in my home every 3 months like I’m supposed to, so this feature of not having to change filters for 6 years was something I value greatly. However, the side pre-filters do have to be cleaned out occasionally when enough dust accumulates, which is easy to do by vacuuming them. The LCD screen is actually useful, not a gimmick; I like seeing the air quality numbers drop in real time when I’m cooking or when I’m kicking up dust doing aerobics workouts, and you can hear the fan ramp up on its own when it detects something. At night it automatically dims and quiets down, so I can leave it running without it turning the room into a wind tunnel. However, the one major downside is though the fan isn’t extremely loud, its not whisper quiet either. It’s not cheap, but factoring in not buying filters all the time, it feels like a solid long‑term buy. If anything changes after a month or two, I’ll be pretty surprised, because so far it’s been a set‑it‑and‑forget‑it upgrade to the air in my place.

Shark BreatheClear MAX by NeverChange (Dove Edition) The Shark BreatheClear MAX delivers a premium unboxing experience, but its real value shows up in the engineering. Setup is fast: install the filter, lock the base, power on, and the touchscreen handles calibration and onboarding automatically. In operation, the unit moves a surprising amount of air for its footprint. The multi‑stage filtration system ramps intelligently based on sensor data, and the real‑time air‑quality readout is clear and responsive. In typical use, the purifier stabilizes particulate levels quickly, making it especially effective in homes with pets, high‑traffic areas, or allergy triggers. The chassis feels solid, airflow is well‑channeled, and the touchscreen UI is one of the cleaner implementations in this category—fast, bright, and easy to navigate. Pros: Rapid particulate reduction and strong airflow performance Responsive sensor‑driven auto mode Clean, high‑visibility touchscreen UI Straightforward filter installation and setup Effective for allergy‑sensitive environments Cons: Requires initial filter installation Occupies moderate floor space Bottom Line: The BreatheClear MAX pairs strong filtration performance with a polished user interface and smart automation. For users who want measurable air‑quality improvements without micromanaging settings, it’s a well‑engineered option that performs consistently.

    Good Purifier BUT pretty loud

I have a few combinations of air purifiers, but was curious on the filter replacement aspect. Honestly, I don't hate changing filters when needed, but with the claim of changing less frequently had me curious. This, like many other Shark products I own are extemely well built for the price and cost. However, does it work as stated? Unboxing this beast is pretty fun. It's sort of heavy but not as heavy as my other similar ones. Before operating, please read the included quick start instructions and remove the bag from the included filter. This is not really a plug and play. The filter included is a heavy duty one and hopefullly does not cost an arm and a leg to buy another down the road. There's no other manual included. You need to scan the QR code to get that. I personally did not read the QR code intructions and stopped at the quick start. I removed all the tape and bags that are on the filter. You need to turn the unit upside down and unscrew the bottom cap off. This comes off pretty easy but you need to look for the little dot to line it up to the unlock picture on the unit to properly close it all up. I powered it up and was greeted by a big bright display. No it is not touch screen. You need to navigate the menus with the buttons on top of the unit. However, when powering it on, the unit calibrates itself and pretty much runs on full blast ofr 5 minutes and the screen counts down. The screen, besides showing the menu of functions, it shows a glanceable picture to show you the quality of the air. Red is of course bad and goes through the tranquil blue for the "good" air. I have another air purifier running across the room and it's on automatic and the air seems fine there, however with this one, it kept saying the air needs to be cleaned more so the fan still runs on full blast. This is very distracting. Yes you can lower the fan with the controls, but really, is my air that bad? Anyway, this unit does not connect to any wifi or have any apps to connect to, which is good and bad. Good that it's not dependant on wifi, however, bad that all the controls are on the unit itself. Even though it's pretty to look at, it is bothersome to me personally. Overall the look is ok, besides the Hal 9000 feels this brings me, it's an ok purifier. It's pretty loud from the start and doesn't really let up on auto mode for me. And I have other purifiers on at the same time. The lack of touch screen on this pretty screen is off putting too. So much so that my cat turned on the unit by just touching the power button. Do you recall that the initial startup has this going full blast for 5 minutes for "calibration"? Yes pretty loud. This unit is ok to place in a room with moderate noise, like a garage. I do not seeing putting this in a bedroom at all. Not unless you can use it as a white noise machine. This kicks out a good amount of air, but it is a bit loud for me personally overall. Would I recommend this? No not really. The lack of wifi/software for this kind of unit and also looks like a kerosene tank with a digital display looks out of place in my decor. The only real thing this thing has going for it, is the less frequency of replacing the filters, which I still need to see. But I am not sure if I will even make it because of the noise issue.

This review is for the Shark BreatheClear Max air purifier with NeverChange filters. We have a 2000 sq ft home that is home to 4 dogs and a cat…one of which is a English Bulldog that sheds like crazy. We have an air purifier in the main part of the house as well as the bedroom. We added this one to the living room while the other was moved to the dining room / kitchen. Right off the bat, we could see a noticeable difference in the random dust moving around the floor…after the first day…we didn’t see this again which to me showed that it’s working. You could see the dust being pulled toward the Breatheclear purifier...from the floor and the air. It does a great job of circulating the air. So far, I haven’t found anything I didn’t like about it. My wife has allergies and says it’s a life-saver. Pros • Easy setup and controls • 4 fan settings – Low to Max • Easy to clean pre-filter • Auto mode – love this…it senses motion and increases effectiveness • Programmable • Shark/Ninja product…always had good luck. No real cons yet…it’s pricey but it works.

I have three air purifiers in my home and they did an okay job but they had to run constantly and the filters were not cheap. I now only have this awesome air purifier from Shark. I cannot believe how effective it is. It has made such a difference in the air quality in my home. I suffer from terrible allergies and always wake up really stuffed up but not anymore. This thing really does perform very very well. It even cleared out the smoke from cooking quickly. The features it has are great. My favorite are the never change filters, the LCD screen, which is so easy to read, and the auto sense ability. Anytime it senses there is a change in air quality, it ramps up the fan and cleans the air. A good example is when I open my door and open the screen or when I cook, as mentioned before, it detects the change and goes crazy. The look of the unit itself is nice. It's an off white and fits in well with my furniture and decor. Overall, I am super impressed with the performance of this air purifier and am glad I only need one now.
