Customers are enthusiastic about the CarpetXpert HairPro Pet's cleaning performance and ease of use, frequently praising its strong suction and lightweight design. However, some users noted the small tank capacity required more frequent emptying. The size of the unit was also a point of contention, with some finding it cumbersome while others appreciated its compact nature compared to other models.

Good carpet unit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been needing a new carpet cleaner for a while. My old model is starting to have a few issues with keeping suction up. It is from another major manufacturer of vacuum and carpet products, and has served me well for 10 years. I picked this because it functions much like the old unit with separate clean water and dirty water tanks. It also has a separate dry only cycle. This also runs solution on pushing forward and suction only on pull back, sucking up the cleaning solution. One thing I see that is different on this and intriguing is the oxygenation formulation separate tank that adds an extra cleansing power. Otherwise, the set up is same and operational the same. This is a solid unit and build is fairly sturdy. The weight is comparable to other units. The suction is actually much better than my previous 3 units I have had, much more than my current one had new. This really does a good job of nearly drying when done with the suction. What I really really like with this, is that you can pull the roller out and clean the whole pathway below and untangle the hairs that may have wound around the roller, which are not many. It has a separate strainer in the tank to try and collect the hair also, which is nice with my pets. The cleaning with their formula with oxygenation is good, but even without and using some of my old solutions, this works well. That being said, I do think their specific solutions do work a bit better. The attachments all work well for upholstery or on small spots. The crevis fine detailing unit is nice for spots in tight places, like couch cushion corners. Overall, the price on this is competitive, and so far, I think this is my best home carpet cleaner that I have worked with. I owned 2 others from one brand that one broke, one I loaned out and never got back, and the other brand that I am using now but I'm going to send to pasture. I would recommend this item without hesitation.

Excellent carpet cleaner from an excellent brand
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used a handful of more budget-oriented carpet cleaners in the past, and they have worked fine for the most part. This new Shark CarpetXpert has been dream in comparison. The clean and dirty water tanks are easy to attach, detach, fill, and empty. Initial assembly is also straightforward and very simple right out of the box. There are not a ton of parts to find and attach to the carpet cleaner, which is great for first-time use. I find the weight of the carpet cleaner to be perfectly maneuverable, and there are grab points on it for carrying it up and down the stairs. One feature I really enjoy is that there is no solution button. If you push it forward, solution comes out. When you pull it back towards you, it stops the spray and allows you to suck up any moisture. You can also disable the spray completely so it only sucks up moisture, which is nice for final passes and drying your carpet as much as possible. After that, you will need to let the rest air dry like usual. This device and the included cleaning solutions have done wonders on my living room carpet, and I highly recommend this carpet cleaner.

Perfect Carpet Cleaner for Golden Retiever Lovers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone knows that pets can be extremely hard on floors and especially carpets. I have not one but two gold retrievers, and they are definitely a good test for something like the Shark CapetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker Carpet Cleanter and Pet Stain Remover. There is no denying that we love our pets and forgive their occasional mishaps, but we also want our carpets to look nice. Thankfully, the Shark Carper Cleaner does not disappoint. Out of the box, it is easy to assemble. For the most part, I just had to put the handle on and attach the hose. That was it. Inside the box, there is also some cleaning solution as well as a few accessories to help with cleaning. The instructions on how to clean using this device are easy to follow. It may help though to watch a YouTube video showing how it works if you prefer. Basically though, as you move the machine forward in deep clean mode, the solution sprays out. When you pull the machine in reverse, it sucks up the solution with the dirt. I feel the first thing I should point out though is this is not a vacuum cleaner. You will want to use a vacuum cleaner to get up as much as you can off the floor, before you start using the CarpetXpert. This will save you a lot of time later down the line. The CarpetXpert is really there to pull up the dirt. Now with golden retrievers, some of those hairs are down in the carpet. The CarpetXpert will get those. But still try to get it up before this step. In any case, you fill up the cleaning tank with water and the cleaning solution. Then you begin cleaning. I found you cannot go too quickly over the carpet. It does take a bit of time to really get the solution down and to clean. My carpets were a good test for this. I had my carpets installed five years ago and the carpets were never cleaned. Using this machine really pulled up old pet and food stains from the carpet. I was shocked at how well this system worked. It really made my carpets look close to new again. Even where the dog likes to sleep all the time looked great. Now in my review, I did give the system 5 stars. There were a couple of things I would have given it only 3 or 4 stars on though. First, the cleaning solution tanks are very small. If you want to use this machine to clean a whole room, you may need to use more than one tank. The solution can come out very quickly, and you will use up the fluid before the room is done. Of course, the supply that came with the system only will allow you to fill the tank 4 or 5 times, so you will likely not be able to use it on your whole house without getting more. The second item I had an issue with is how fast the system can become clogged and will stop working. Here is where that part about getting up all the hair before you use it comes in. There is a filter which catches all the hair that gets pulled up by the machine. Once enough of it fills up in the filter, the machine will stop until it is emptied. With golden retrievers, this happens quickly. I suspect this will become less of an issue over time as the machine is used more than once every five years, but it is still an issue. However, even with these negatives, I love the machine too much to give it less than 5 stars. I absolutely loved the way my carpets looked after using this. The drain water came out looking brown. I couldn’t believe that all came from my carpet. The machine also does a good job of pulling up the solution from the carpet. For the most part, the carpet was only mildly damp when I finished. I could walk on the carpet with my socks on after using the machine, and I could barely tell. Certainly after 15 minutes and a ceiling fan running, it was dry. The last part of the machine that I was impressed with was how easy it was to clean. Even part of the machine is really designed to be accessible and cleaned. The rollers are easy to get to. The filters for the most part only need you to rinse them out and let them dry. It works wonderfully. The hardest part for me now is figuring out where to store it. It is not an everyday or even once a week type machine to use. But I certainly want to use it often. In the end, I love the Shark CapetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker Carpet Cleanter and Pet Stain Remover. It cleaned parts of my carpet that I didn’t think would even get clean. It even pulled up blue Kool Aid from the carpet to the point I couldn’t even tell where it was. This machine is great. I recommend it for anyone looking for a personal carpet cleaner. And for golden retriever owners, this is a must.

Professional Quality Cleaning
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker, Corded Upright Deep Carpet, Rug and Upholstery Cleaner, Pet Stain Remover is a phenomenal carpet and stain cleaner. It arrived very well packed inside the retail box, so not worries about any damage in transit. It was very easy to setup. Once setup I began to clean my living room and hallway. I have two cats and two dogs, so you can probably imagine that there are going to be faint stains from hairballs or accidents no matter how well you try to hand clean effected area. Also, my front door is in the living room, and we get a lot of traffic through it. We usually try to carpet clean once or twice a year because we have a light colored carpet. We were due, so this was a perfect opportunity to try out the Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker. I first setup the solution to clean. It's nice they give you enough cleaning solution to clean a couple small rooms and try the StainStriker out. I first hit the stains with the StainStriker and the attachment with a brush and it worked very well. Maybe too well, because it completely removed the stains, but also left super clean carpet, which basically made me have to clean the entire area to match it, lol. Using the carpet cleaner is very simple, you push forward and the CarpetXprt Pro automatically applies the solution, while pulling back on the carpet cleaner cleans and sucks up to dirty solution. You can also press a button to only dry when moving in any direction. This is very handy to remove as much of the extra cleaning solution as possible. After going over the living room in one pass, I was amazed how clean in was. It came so much cleaner than I expected. My old carpet cleaner would take a couple of passes to get this clean. It was so clean that I noticed the hallway could also use some attention. In my opinion, the CarpetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker cleans just as good, of not better than a professional machine that you can rent. I was so impressed I immediately purchased more Shark Deep Clean Pet Formula so that I could do the rest of the house. Also, Shark made the CarpetXpert HairPro easy to clean up when you're finished carpet cleaning. The included base is a very nice touch. It hold all of the attachments, and also protects the floor while the CarpetXpert HairPro is drying after use. I'm very impressed with this carpet cleaner and would highly recommend it.

Professional cleaning at home
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 cats and 2 bedrooms with carpeting plus a few areas rugs. Needless to say, those rugs take a beating from the cats and from me. I was debating getting new carpeting in my office, but then this beast arrived to save the day, and lots of money! As with most Shark products, the setup was easy and everything I needed was included. It comes with a few hand tools for extra scrubbing power and 2 cleaning solutions. I had it ready to go in less than 10 minutes and used my office as the guinea pig. I have beige carpeting in my office and between spills, food stains, cat stains and cat hair, I was a bit skeptical that this would do the job. Boy, was I wrong. I throughly cleaned the carpeting with the standup vac and noticed the stains and hair disappear immediately. The area around my desk was a real mess (I don’t use a chair mat), and I was amazing at how well this worked. For a couple of set in stains, I used the scrubbing attachment, and boom, stains gone! My office carpeting looks like new and I could not be happier. This weekend I’ll do my bedroom and area rugs and expect similar results. If you have carpeting and pets, this Shark is a must!

Easy to use, powerful and cleans extremely well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I want to say is we try to do a good job of keeping our carpets in our bedroom as clean as possible. No shoes no food in the rooms, we vacuum pretty often. Even with all that being said I was shocked I mean utterly shocked with how dark and how much crud the shark picked up. The first I noticed after putting everything together was how easy it was to set up and to prepare to clean all I did was fill the tank with warm water and added the shampoo cleaner. After that is was off and running, it very much feels like a vacuum but it definitely has a lot of power. The hose attachment works great and was so great at cleaning the arms on the couch and getting all the crud my kids had gotten on it. We have a dog so using the attachments to get hair and dirt out of tough corners or hard to reach places was so easy. The suction in the vacuum is very strong and picks up so much. I was shocked how much it picked even after I had vacuumed a couple of times before using the cleaner. It’s so incredibly easy to use and works so well this is an easy recommendation from me.

Great value and excellent cleaning in one device!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shark CarpetXpert Hairpro Pet with Stain Striker, model EX301 26 We have a 2-year-old German Shepherd that is not excessively messy though she does track mud in during storms. She has a frequent visitor, a Landseer Newfoundland that has the normal attributes of that breed—i.e. she is very large, but more importantly, she drools and sheds. She also has visited on rainy days. This results in spots on our carpet. No, the dogs are not the only reason for the spots. We only clean our carpets about once a year because we have never owned a carpet shampooer and have ended up renting a Rug Doctor from a retailer or borrowing my sister-in-law’s Bissel Pet rug cleaner. Both of those have their advantages and disadvantages. For us the main disadvantage of not owning our own is that we can’t usually clean a mess up immediately. We do own a Little Green Machine that is over two decades old, but that is only for spot cleaning and it is inconsistent in its cleaning prowess. Since we did some dog sitting with the Newfie the past weekend I was happy to see this unit arrive. It came encased in a brown outer shipping box which protected the inner box and contents. The inner box on the top inner flap had illustrated quick setup instructions which is very convenient. Also on top inside the box was the manual. I like to read manuals. It took less than a half hour to remove all the pieces from the box and their individual bags, after perusing the manual. I set up everything nicely on the included tray and then showed my wife. Yeah, it is a little crazy getting this excited about a rug cleaner. I followed all the steps and the only difficulties were getting the hose attached with two clicks and wrapping the stiff power cord around its respective guides. On the hose issue, I didn’t realize there was a second clip to snap. I had already vacuumed, so I moved some furniture, filled the tanks and was ready to go. I was barefoot so I could determine just how wet things got. Cleaning with this machine is a rather easy task. The Shark sprays when you move forward and extracts the solution on the backward pull. You don’t need to push buttons or hold a bar—it does it all automatically in the deep clean mode. I was concerned because it seemed really wet after doing each strip twice as recommended (remember, I am barefoot). The manual said to not use the dry only mode until you are done with cleaning the whole carpet, and that is what I ended up doing. I was amazed at how well it removed almost all the stains. The heavy traffic area between the couch and coffee table was noticeably brighter and all but one stain that was beneath the couch had vanished. I think that next time I will use the hand tools on the spots before I use the main apparatus. Then again, it would be a waste of time in most instances, because all the other spots were removed without treating them ahead of time. It really did an impressive job! As I said, I used the dry only mode when I was done cleaning, and since I was barefoot, even after 3 passes on each strip, it still seemed pretty wet and there wasn’t much water ending up in the dirty water reservoir, just a bunch of wet sand. I don’t live near a beach, so I still can’t figure that out. I had the ceiling fan on as the extra humidity was making me sweat. I did some other tasks for 45 minutes and then moved the furniture back. I had since put on my shoes. My wife was upset that I moved the furniture back so soon, since they all had wood legs and she was sure I would damage or soften the wood. We ended up putting wax paper under all the legs to protect the wood, and while inserting the wax paper I had to kneel on the carpet. My pant legs did not get wet! The carpet was almost completely dry in less than two hours! This was very important since we were having guests in just under an hour. And that is also why I did not run the machine with just hot water as a rinse. The overall experience was great! The Shark was easy to maneuver (especially compared to the Rug Doctor) and middling noisy, but quieter than both the Rug Doctor and the Bissel Pet rug cleaner. I did not get to use the hand tools. I really wanted to test one or two out on some nasty stains that are on a comforter that our dog uses sometimes for a bed. My wife nixed the idea saying it would probably damage it. I still hope to work with them soon, since they seem a cinch to use. The additional hand tools just snap on over the one attached to the hose. And two have their own reservoirs to catch waste, so you don’t muck up your hose and machine with a particularly nasty, unsanitary mess. This is really well thought out. And I wanted to try the hand tool cleaning function as well. Cleanup was uncomplicated, with the reservoirs easily fitting in the sink to be rinsed, and the filters all effortlessly removed and rinsed. I had very little dog hair to pull out, probably because I had just vacuumed. Pros: Light and Maneuverable; Excellent Cleaning Ability; Average Noise Level for a rug cleaner; a comprehensive and comprehensible manual; an Accessory Tray to put the Shark on after use to contain water from the machine (but it didn’t drip). And the tray has convenient places for the other hand tools. This means that all the hand tools aren’t attached to the main body or handle while in use…so they won’t be knocked off while one is cleaning. It is a well thought out design from the hand tools having their own reservoir, to the hand tools just snapping on over the tool at the end of the hose, and then providing a tray to put everything together when not in use. Cons: Had to empty the dirty water reservoir often due to its small size. The Shark indicated that it needed to be emptied when the dirty water was only between a half-way and two thirds full. The machine lets you know when it should be emptied. The float may signal this early because the handle leans down with each stroke outward. Wishes: that the power cord was about four feet longer and less stiff. It came with 16 oz. of Shark OxyMultiplier, and 12 oz. of Shark DeepClean Pet solution. I didn’t use up all the DeepClean Pet solution. And just a hint—when first filling the tanks, you don’t have to fill the OxyClean tank to the max line since it uses much less, and only when using the hand tools. Otherwise, you will have to funnel the solution back into the bottle like I did. So, overall, this is a very effective rug cleaning tool and I highly recommend it. You don’t even need to have pets to need this easy to use, lightweight, maneuverable and versatile carpet cleaning machine. Thumbs up!

The only carpet cleaner you will ever need!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark - CarpetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker is easily the best carpet cleaner we have ever used. We have owned several others and used the rental cleaners as well. None have done as good of a job as this. With two cats and a dog, carpet cleaning is a regular routine for use. At least once a month. This Shark cleaner does an impressive job of not only deep cleaning, but also in sucking up the water after. Our carpet is clean and dry in far less time that before. The various attachments make everything from spot cleaning (including those nasty "accident" stains) to cleaning the furniture and the stairs a breeze. The Shark is very simple to use. Just ad water and solution and you are up and running. The water/solution tank, dirty water tank and even the small stain buster solution tank are easy to remove. And as far as cleaning the scrubber itself, everything comes apart easily. Haven't had to struggle to dig deep to remove dirt or hair that gets stuck in the roller. If you are like most and just rent a carpet cleaner from time to time, I would highly recommend the Shark - CarpetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker. It is every bit as good as the pro cleaners and will pay for itself in no time.

Perfect for removing spills and stains from carpet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super easy to use carpet cleaner and pet hair remover even includes cleaning fluid for shampooing your carpets. I've generally owned other brand carpet cleaners but I was surprised how well the shark carpet cleaner works at removing spills and even older stains. I had an older coffee stain in one of my lighter carpets and it removed it with ease where my older carpet shampooer struggled to remove the stain. I even tried out the pet hair remover from my couches where my two French bulldogs love to lay and sleep all day, and it picked up more dog hair than I would have imagined was on my newer couches. I really like all the attachments included with this shampooer and stain remover even the attached wand for shampooing smaller spots is very convenient. I'm also a fan of how they included the storage tray to put under the shampooing machine. I would highly recommend this to anyone debating about purchasing this shark shampooer and pet hair remover. For a shampooer it works well at removing stains and small ones large as well or just great for cleaning an entire room with carpet.

Deep cleansing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only negative: no steam or heat. That's all. So you can beat the negative by putting in hot water up to 160F, so it's not a huge negative. We love carpet here and can't stand hardwood or bare floors. I'm part Asian so we don't wear shoes in the house (except for my wife, daughter took up my customs). My Dad's European customs also has no shoes in the house so hard wood is terrible because the bits and pieces my wife drags in sticks to your feet and it's most noticeable in the kitchen. The cat pretty much stays in my daughter's room since it's her cat. She was living here full time, but now it's only about 1/2 the year that she's around but she leaves a good bit of dirt and hair around so a pet friendly vacuum is needed. To compliment the pet friendly vacuum cleaner, I got the Sharp CarpetXpert to suck up what the vacuum doesn't. Mostly, you won't need to deep clean your carpet on a regular basis but the spot cleaning attachment will be very appreciated if the kitty has a little mistake. Since I need to schedule when I clean a carpet, I've only done my daughter's room while she's out. One full tank of cleaning solution was needed for a roughly 10'x10' area - the room is bigger, but that area is all that's open for cleaning without moving furniture, aquariums, and terrariums. Since I wasn't in the mood to move everything I stuck with the 10x10. Holy smokes! the water was filthy after doing its duty. Even with a thorough vacuuming the CarpetXpert picked up tons of hair, dust, and dirt. There were chunks of "stuff" and "gunk" in the dark water. You can tell it's been a long time since I cleaned this carpet. Second task was to see if it could put a dent in some kind of hair dye my wife spilled. No go on that even with the spot cleaning attchment. One reason is that it's set in nice a good. We've been working on it for about a month with no progress so we'll just have to let it naturally fade out or throw a rug over it. At least it smells good now. So far I'm happy witht he CarpetXpert and looking forward to finishing up my cleaning once we move some things out of the way.

Excellent carpet cleaner!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn’t realize our carpets were so gross! We got this Shark CarpetXpert carpet cleaner just over a week ago. My wife is a clean-freak and we vacuum weekly (with a very good Shark vacuum as well). Hadn’t shampoo’d the carpets in a while though til we tried this new one out. Very nice fit/finish and super easy to setup per the instructions (even for my wife). Vaccumed just prior per the instructions and holy moly, it picked up the dirtiest looking water in the tank! Easy to roll (just go a little slower than you would with a vacuum) and it will tell you when you need to pause and dump the tank. We did the drying setting after a couple hours (since it was still lightly damp) and a few hours later the carpet was completely dry and CLEAN. Used a couple of the hand attachments on the stairs as well which worked just as well. Easy to handle and use. The solutions are reasonably priced (it came with a 16oz and 12oz botte to start). Very impressed!

Who designed this? What a joke!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hate this machine. The detergent needs to be mixed with the clean water in the tank, meaning you can't rinse the soap out of the carpet. Both the tanks are so small, I need to stop, refill the clean, and empty the dirty tank four times each just to do one room. I can't spot treat anything with the Stainstriker solution, I have to stop, set up a hand tool, get on the floor and work any stains separately from the floor head. The floor head is too narrow. My upright vacuums are bigger than this. The dirty tank doesn't have a handle. To empty it, you must carry it two-handed, take off the top, and dump it like an extra wide vase. TL;DR: Designed very poorly, a total waste of time and money. Go find a Hoover.

Incredibly disappointing visit to local Best Buy…
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went into my local Best Buy to purchase thi Shark carpet cleaner. The blue shirt on duty told me that they had two in stock. But after retrieving them from the top shelf I noticed that both boxes had been previously opened. It was beyond obvious since the tape was cut on both sides and the middle strip had been taped over. The clerk tried to tell me these boxes had never been opened before because they would have been resealed with “Best Buy tape”. Really? Really??? That trip wasn’t worth my time. Next time Amazon.
