Easy Assembly and Use with Thorough Cleaning

First impressions from the box were that you can tell what you are buying. Plenty of good descriptions of the jobs it can handle. Once opened, the instructions were right on top to help me get going with assembly and use. All components were individually wrapped for protection and it was easy to get everything ready. They clearly thought through the packaging to ensure appeal but also protection of the machine. Once I had all the components laid out, assembly was simple with just a push and click to attach everything. No tools required at all. Probably took less than five minutes to get it ready to go. The QR code on the box and the cleaner takes you to a very good video to help you assemble, use, and maintain it. This was all very well thought out. Once the furniture was moved, I filled the tanks with the water and soap (initial solution included). Once on, I began shampooing an open area and could tell immediately the suction was strong and could see the difference and how it was removing stains and dirt. The shampoo smell is very pleasant as well and made the house smell like fresh laundry. After doing the rooms I needed cleaned, I simply took the unit apart and cleaned the components of residue and dried them up before getting it ready to store. If there was anything that I would change, I might consider putting a push pull assist of some sort. With the suction being as good as it was, the unit was almost sticking while going back and forth. This is certainly not a cheap machine and the price would almost certainly go up so perhaps that could be solved another way such as larger wheels. I slightly more ergonomic handle could also help with the arm fatigue you eventually begin to feel. A slightly larger tank to hold the solution would be beneficial so that you could get through at least one room without having to refill it and similarly, the dirty water tank being just a bit larger would also be great. This did not take away from my overall results and I am extremely pleased with how everything came out. Overall, this machine was great from start to finish. After going a bit too long between cleanings and now having something that is this easy to use, I am certain my carpeting and couches will be in much better shape.

Carpets, especially in the high traffic areas in our place ,take a beating and need to be cleaned often. Dirt gets ground in, spills happen, life makes things and carpets dirty. We got this thing to avoid renting the rug doctor or hiring the local carpet cleaners, to see if we can do it ourselves with this all in one system. Here is what we like: It is super easy to put together out of the box and has places to store attachments and hoses etc. making it fairly self contained. The separate clean and dirty water tanks are easy to remove, fill or empty and replace. The operation is triggerless in upright mode. Water and cleaning solution sprays when you are pushing it forward and it switched to suction mode when pulling back. I also like the portable hose and attachments for using on stair treads or furniture. Different modes for deep clean regular and a quick dry mode that uses less water and cleaning solution. In quick dry mode along with the high suction, this leaves your spot or area pretty dry after a few suction passes. The stain striker solution with Oxy Multiplier seems to do really well on stains and spills, cat puke, ground in dirt etc. Its not a miracle worker but it certainly does the job we wanted it for! What I dont like so much: The relatively small size of the tanks for clean water and dirty water can mean a couple of stops to empty or refill if you are cleaning a larger area or spill. Not a deal breaker, They aren't tiny, just seems like dirty water tanks fills up quick, but it also seems to relate to the amount of suction, since it leaves the carpet dryer than I expected. The hose attachment does not pull the same amount of suction as the full upright unit, so you may need to use the hose first and then go over something in upright mode to extract. Also not a big deal, just something I noticed. Overall, happy with this unit and it will save money and time in the long run vs. what we were spending on carpet cleaning options. I am looking into alternative options for cleaning solutions. It is still sorta new to us so far. Not sure yet, but will look into cheaper cleaning solutions to see if they do as good of a job as the Stain stiker and multiplier do. We will see.

Terrible product. I spent more money on this thinking it would be better than a bissell or another brand for a carpet cleaner and I was extremely wrong. I wish I could take it back but I don’t live anywhere near a Best Buy. Usually I love shark products but this was the first shark product that was terrible!

With three boys running around my house, my carpet pretty much looks like a battlefield. Between football, soccer, basketball and them spilling every concoction known to man on the floors, a carpet cleaner is a must in my house until we replace the carpet with hardwood floors. I own or have owned at least three carpet cleaners from different brands and this one is probably the best of the bunch. Assembly was pretty simple and it took about 5 minutes once I looked at the pictures. I like that everything can be attached to the cleaner and I dont have to store any of the components somewhere and then have to go search for it when I need to use it. I'm pretty sure I have missing parts from the other units in some inocuous place in the house. This comes with two cleaning head attachments. One is for heavy duty cleaning (pet tool) and the other is for things like carpet and stairs. That is in addition to the brush roller that is built into the cleaner. The brush roll works well enough, but not great. It will get out some surface dirt, but not the ground in stuff. I used both the pet brush and the other brush head and they were both amazing at getting up heavy duty stains. I cleaned my steps and did some spot cleaning in my living room and basement and I was more than happy with the results. My only complaints about this cleaner would be the brush roll could do a better job and the dirty water tank could be larger. I felt that I had to empty it too often, but since it did such a good job of cleaning, I wouldn’t make it a major negative. Overall, I really think this is a good cleaner and I would recommend it.

Shark CarpetXpert Upright Carpet, Area rug, and upholstery cleaner with Stain striker. Build Quality: Quality feels very good. Lightweight and able to maneuver easily. Each component is easy to take apart and to clean thoroughly. Very impressed with the release levers and how each part comes apart and is able to snap back in place. Boxing and packaging: Well packed to prevent breakage and losing parts. Great packaging imagery to assist in knowing what the end product will look like. Cleaning quality - Area Rugs: Exceptional job, easy to empty the dirty water. Using it on the rug didn't try sucking up or moving the rugs. Did a great job cleaning the area rugs, they look like they did after I purchased and laid them down. Not to. much water but yet enough. No issue withdrawing the dirt and grime out of the area rugs. Cleaning quality - Floors - Cleaning the carpet was very nice. The cleaning agent was great and worked as expected. Floors/carpets looks really good. Cleaning quality - Upholstery - this is where this device seems to be the weakest - The water sprays to far away from the brush area of the cleaner. Feels a bit awkward and have to know that it is about 6 inches from the end of the nozzle/brush so when you aim to spray the chair, or item, it doesn't overspray or not include the item you are cleaning. Overall - I would recommend this device for anything except upholstery. Doesn't seem to do a great job with suctioning the excess water out of the item. Leaves me a bit underwhelmed

This has got to be my favorite carpet shampooer. It works fantastic for an everyday use shampooer and not a commercial type. I love that it has hand tools to clean the corners and crevices, but can also pick up spills. WOW! My dog recently vomited all over the carpet (talk about perfect timing). I used the hand tool that sucks up spills and let me tell you...that made the clean up easier. I did not have to pick it up with a rag and risk it soaking back into the carpet. I sucked up the stuff, took it outside and emptied it right out and cleaned the hand tool right after. Afterwards, I used the shampooer to clean up the carpet and it all looked/smelled like nothing ever happened in that area of the carpet. I used it to clean my carpets a week before and the areas that were very dirty due to high traffic, came out so much cleaner than my old shampooer. I am not a huge fan of the fact that you can only buy the shampoo on the shark website and not anywhere else, but it def smells better than most other brands I have used. When I was done shampooing my living room, hallway and 3 bedrooms, the floor smelled so good. The shampoo has a fresh linen smell that stays even after you're done. It is so easy to use and clean up after. I almost enjoy using it because it's so easy and makes my carpet smell so good. I never have to rent a machine again. This really works well! I would definitely recommend this.

Haven't had carpet for a while and just recently bought a house loaded with carpet. It came with solution but I knew it wouldn't take care of the entire house, it did do two rooms though. So we picked up another gallon to get the job done. The only complaints I have are that the solution is sprayed by pushing forward on the carpet cleaner instead of a trigger and that the cord is too short, way too short. The machine is very well put together and all the accessories fit nicely on it. The tanks are very easy to take off and put back on. Cleaning the carpet cleaner is a breeze. It really is enjoyable to use. It works great and I had no functionality issues with it what so ever. It has a drying function which basically just turns off the spraying function of the carpet cleaner. The crevice tool is perfect for getting tight to baseboards. Carpet cleaners I've used in the past have left the carpet very wet, with crazy high dry times. That didn't happen with this carpet cleaner, not only that but the carpet wasn't stiff and in need of a vacuum after drying. Very impressive.

I had two carpet cleaners by other brands that both broke recently. I’ve never bought shark before but my family swears by them so I thought I would give this a try when I had a mess that needed cleaned. I picked it up today and used it as soon as I got home. I LOVE IT. I’ve never used a better carpet cleaner in my life. Easy to use and got the stain right up with minimal effort.

    Small Package, But Good Cleaning

We got this cleaner because we have an old dog who has started to have accidents as well as a young puppy who is "mostly" house trained. Ergo, we find little gifts now and again and needed something that would be handy and useful at the same time. I'll start off by saying this thing is small for a carpet cleaner. Our old one was maybe 1.5 times the size and twice the weight. The compact design is a welcome feature in my eyes. However, they utilized the space wonderfully in that the water reservoir and dirty water tank aren't smaller (or at least not enough to notice). It's really the motor and the casing that has shrunk so big points to whomever designed that. Cleaning is easy even if it takes a little to get used to. There is no trigger to activate the water side of things as it detects when you're pushing forward and automatically dispenses if you're in cleaning mode. While it's nice not to have to hold a trigger, it does hinder in targeting a stubborn spot in that you have to enlarge the area by moving back and forth. Or, you could use the hand wand but that's a whole different mode in my mind. There's a manual button enable cleaning or drying mode and that is extremely useful. I like to wash the carpet and then go over it several times in drying mode to get as much water out of it as possible. The button is in a handy position so it's easy to activate and de-activate. There's a foot lever to switch between the head and the hand held brush (wand). Pretty standard in these things and both work well. The hand held is great for furniture and pillows of course, but it's also extremely handy on stairs. The hose won't reach the entire length of our stairs, but it does go roughly halfway so we can start from the top, move it halfway through and then work to the bottom. The water dispenser has clear lines marked for water and cleaning solution. It holds quite a bit of water and I've not had to fill the reservoir multiple times for a single task, but I'm not doing the entire floor either. The dirty water cannister is easy to remove and dump, but what I really like is how easy it is to clean after dumping it. Sometimes, you can get carpet fibers and dirt that likes to hang on to those, but this one is wide open and very easy to keep clean. My biggest gripes are it doesn't have a heater for the water and it doesn't have a spot targeting system that doesn't include the hand held. It was easy to assemble, easy to use, and easy to clean up. It does a good job on surface stains and a decent job on set stains if you have the right solution. Overall, it is a very useful and handy device to have to quickly clean up pet accidents and save your carpet. The positives far outweigh the negatives and you won't be disappointed if you get it for that.

I've have other Shark products and really like what you get for the price, so I had high expectations for this carpet cleaner. And it mostly met them, but fell a little short in a few areas. The carpet cleaner is not pretty lightweight and easy to use. It's not too loud, and has very good extraction power. The ease of switching from the vacuum to the hand held tools is very nice as well. I did was able to clean all of my carpet and then used the hand held tools to clean some spots on some upholstered sofas (dogs are gonna be dogs...). It worked really well as far as cleaning both the carpet and the spots on the sofas. However it took longer than I'd like.... The biggest issue is that the dirty water tank is very small and needs to be emptied multiple times while cleaning. I emptied it 7 times while cleaning an average sized family room (roughly 17'x20'). The tank looks larger than it is because it is actually a decent size, however the full line is waaaay below the top. So it fills up super fast. Also the recommended cleaning solutions are not found at many places (maybe because it's a newer product?), and is fairly expensive compared to other brands. So while it does a good job of cleaning, I would be prepared to have to empty the tank several times for larger cleanings. But for smaller areas and spot cleaning it's great.

Shark CarpetXpert with stainstriker carpet clear, So happy I got this when I did it has been amazing, just got a new puppy and of course the whole potty training has been well but still has had accidents, I just cleaned my carpets about a week before I got my shark carpet xpert I figured it would be awesome to have a cleaner on hand for maintenance and I'm was highly impressed being that we just cleaned the carpet the machine we rented didn't do a good job cause I went over some spots & you could see the dirt being pulled up the from the carpet I was in shock, I really like the suction power and the cleaning solution with Oxy power it didn't have a strong smell like chemicals, my puppies pee accident came right up including not leaving any odor behind. It comes with a pet tool, crevice tool, reverseable bristle tool, hose cleaner, and two bottle of cleaner shark deep clean pro formula and 16oz shark stainerstriker Oxy multiplier they are amazing! I don't feel like the machine itself is heavy like most cleaners are. And all the different tools are very handy. Also it sucked up all liquids and the moisture that remained dried within an hour. I would highly recommend Shark Xpert

    Area Rug Is Finally Clean

I have an 8 by 10 area rug in my living room that is heavily trafficked by people and dogs. The rug gets noticeably dirty very fast and the dry vacuum does a great job at picking up loose dirt and pet hair but it doesn't clean the rug. This Shark CarpetXpert Upright Vacuum paired with the Deep Cleaning solution instantly revealed the white parts the rug use to have that were now grey. Cleaning the 8 x 10 area rug took all the water and solution so it needs to be refilled quite often if you have a bigger area. I also took this vacuum up to my cabin where I do have carpet upstairs and I was able to clean 1 room before having to refill. That would be the only negative thing I can say about this vacuum. The handheld tools for deeper cleaning and stain removal also work really well. We don't allow dogs on the couch but from time to time they will jump on them and create a mess from tracking dirt from their wet paws leaving mud residue behind with streaks. The handheld 3.5" reversible bristle tool really digs into the fabric to suck the dirt out and wash the fabric with the StainStriker solution. The solution also does smell good and cleaning rugs has never been easier and more satisfying.

I think I bought a Mouseketeer tool. Don’t buy unless you are ready to be grossed out by your carpet. I have used many carpet cleaners and thought I wouldn’t see much and was pleasantly disgusted that it pulled so much out of my carpet. I love I don’t have to squeeze any buttons while moving the vacuum back and forth to make cleaner come out. It literally does it for you. My only con is I wish it had a larger capacity for both the cleaner and dirty water. But it is the same size as my regular shark vacuum. So it is so convenient and doesn’t take up as much space as other vacuum cleaners. The cleaning solution is a nice scent and light as well, not overwhelming

Shark's CarpetXpert with Stainstriker is a game-changer in the world of carpet cleaning. As a proud owner of this incredible appliance, I can confidently say that it has exceeded all my expectations. First and foremost, the cleaning power of this machine is outstanding. The Stainstriker technology truly lives up to its name, effortlessly tackling even the toughest stains on my carpets. Whether it's spilled wine, pet accidents, or deeply embedded dirt, the CarpetXpert leaves my carpets looking brand new. The combination of powerful suction and a rotating brush roll ensures that no dirt or debris is left behind. One of the standout features of this Shark carpet cleaner is its versatility. It comes with multiple cleaning modes and attachments, making it suitable for various tasks. The dual-tank system, with separate tanks for clean and dirty water, ensures that you are always using fresh water to clean, without recycling dirty water. The onboard detergent dispenser is also a handy addition, allowing you to apply the right amount of cleaning solution for your specific needs. Maneuverability is another area where the CarpetXpert shines. Its swivel steering and lightweight design make it easy to navigate around furniture and tight spaces. The extra-long power cord and hose provide ample reach, reducing the need to constantly unplug and re-plug the machine. Maintenance is a breeze with the Shark CarpetXpert. The removable brush roll and nozzle are easy to clean, and the machine's design minimizes the risk of clogs. Additionally, the filter system captures allergens and keeps the air clean while you clean your carpets. One minor drawback is the noise level, which can be a bit loud, but it's a small trade-off for the exceptional cleaning results it delivers. Another consideration is the price point, but in my opinion, it's a worthwhile investment given the quality and performance. In conclusion, the Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker has become an indispensable tool in my household. Its powerful cleaning capabilities, versatility, and ease of use make it a top-notch carpet cleaner. If you're in the market for a reliable and effective solution to keep your carpets spotless, I highly recommend giving this Shark model a try. It's a true stain-striking champion that will leave your carpets looking and feeling immaculate.

Assembly on this unit is relatively simple and straightforward. Also appreciate the inclusion of cleaning solution/shampoo in the box (even though they are smaller bottles that do not last as long as the replacement bottles). There are some pretty nice features about this rug cleaner. There is a separate water reservoir for the main unit and the hand-held cleaner (where the cleaning solution is diluted in water for the main unit, yet it is not diluted for the hand held; these are two different solutions, however). The main unit sprays the water/solution automatically when pushing the cleaner forward and it stops spraying (and applies suction) when pulling it backward. That is a nice feature compared to some others where I have to manually apply the cleaning solution and water by squeezing a trigger. The unit seems to clean very well and managed to pick up debris that remained after a thorough vacuuming with a really nice vacuum cleaner. The cord is plenty long enough so that "reach" from an outlet should not be too big of an issue. One annoying thing about the design is that the unit is not necessarily easy to carry. The only way to carry it is from the top-mounted handle. There is a tendency to try and grab the unit by the handle over the main water/solution reservoir, but that handle is for the reservoir itself and not the cleaner. Another minor frustration is that the water/solution reservoir is not very large (nor is the "dirty water" reservoir), which makes for frequent stopping and refilling (along with frequent emptying of the dirty water). There are two hand-held cleaning tools that can be used. The larger one, designed for pets, does not work as well given the distance between the spraying nozzle and the suction head. The smaller one seems to be designed much better for reaching the crevices on a set of stairs. Ultimately, if 1/2 stars were allowed, I would give this unit 4-1/2 stars due to the smaller reservoir and lack of a convenient carrying handle. Beyond that, however, it was hard to find something to criticize with the unit. It is easy to use and does a great job of cleaning carpeting and rugs. Overall, I am really happy with the unit, which tips the rating up to a 5-star (as opposed to a 4-star).
