This product is an upgrade but I don't like that there is no switch anymore to change the speed. I really liked the switch because I could use it at my own convenience whenever I need to. Over it an ok vacuum

I returned the vacuum for one reason, the dust cup was designed to be very difficult to wash. I want capability to thoroughly clean it not just empty it.

I like this vacuum, but there are a few features that I miss. First, though, I’ll mention everything that I like. The dustbin is large and can pack in plenty of cat hair and other debris. It’s also easy to empty, although you do sometimes have to reach in and pull hair out that gets wrapped around the metal cone/screen filter. The LED lights are plentiful and bright, so they definitely help when reaching under things and into corners where the light may be faint or nonexistent. The suction is very powerful, and you can even kick it up a notch when needed by pulling the turbo trigger on the handle. It also automatically detects when you move from a hard surface to carpet or a rug when using the floor roller. It increases the roller speed and also the suction when it’s on a carpet or rug. This last feature brings up the first feature that I miss—being able to manually override the carpet/rug speed increase. Since we have pets, almost all our rugs are the type that are thin and washable, but Velcro attach to a floor pad. Unfortunately, this vacuum is too strong and tends to pull up these kinds of rugs and separate them from the pad. Other vacuums I’ve used have a button for “eco” mode or some other description that would let you override that speed increase and just continue to use the lower suction and slower roller speed on rugs. Another feature I miss is having a charging stand so I can just drop the vacuum into it and know that it’ll start charging. This one model has a power brick that you have to manually plug into the battery on the vacuum to charge it. (Or, you can remove the battery and charge it, but it’s still a manual process). Now, I have to keep an eye on the charge level unless I want to plug it in every time I use it. The stand for this vacuum is essentially the floor unit. You just detach the vacuum from it, then there’s a tab on the floor unit stick that you can slide it into. This works well for storage but doesn’t solve the charging problem. Finally, there’s no place to store the attachments that come with it. This isn’t unique to this Shark model, though. I have yet to find any brand of cordless stick vacuum that has a good solution for carrying the attachments with the vacuum while you use it. So, I’m usually vacuuming with one or two attachments hanging out of my pockets. Overall, I still think this is a great vacuum. With just a few little additions it would have been perfect.

Its okay for the price. I rather buy one that has a bigger battery. And that it vacuums going back and forth.

Pros: * Excellent suction - I took it to work (I work with preschool age kids) and used it in the classroom after meals, and it did an excellent job cleaning up all the spilled food off the floor! * Easily transitions between hard and soft surfaces (in my case, to and from carpet and linoleum) * Lightweight, and easy to maneuver * Not obnoxiously loud when it is being used, even with the "turbo" trigger being pulled * "Turbo" mode - pull the trigger, and the suction increases * Multiple attachments included to be able to use it as a handheld vacuum * The most obvious one: it is cordless, which gives you the freedom to move around with it without having to worry about having an accessible plug! Cons: * No charging dock, just a charging cord * Can't stand on its own, which makes it difficult if you have to pause in the middle of using it * Difficult to remove and reattach the waste receptacle to and from the body of the vacuum * I did have some trouble with it being so much more lightweight than a typical vacuum that I was unintentionally lifting it off the floor while using it * I wish there was some sort of battery indicator to show how much of a charge is left

I was a little hesitant with this vacuum due to the price point. It seems that these days you have to spend $500-$800 to get a decent stick vacuum. I have had several very expensive competitor”s vacuums and this one is way better than those. Filters would clog, didn’t adjust to hard wood and carpet, battery life was awful after a few months, etc. My last expensive vacuum was so low that it wouldn’t pick up Cheerios on the wood floor. It certainly made the suction better but what good is that if you can’t pick up what you want and just pushes it around? This vacuum has an auto switch that increases suction when carpet vs. hard floors. It had amazing LED lights so I don’t need to turn all the lights on when I vacuum. The battery life on this vacuum is absolutely incredible. I can vacuum my whole first floor, which consists of 50/50 carpet and hard, and I can get three full cleanings on one charge. I also love that when you are done, the top pops off and fits nicely on the base so you can store it anywhere. As I mentioned, I’ve owned just about every brand stick vacuum on the market, from the most expensive to your most common brands and so far I am so happy. I don’t have one complaint about this machine. If you are on the fence with the Shark or a competitor, definitely go with the Shark!

In the box is the vacuum with attachments, removable battery, charge cord with brick and instructional information. First Impression - The vacuum is sleek and somewhat like and I like the position of the buttons. Disclaimer - I own other shark vacuums and I own another brand stick vacuums. The vacuum itself works great. It flawlessly goes from hardwood floors to carpet with ease. I will say be careful with thinner area rugs because it may suck the corners. Also, there is a power shot that helps the vacuum pick up even more dirt. It does good with hair (pet and human), no stopping to try and unclog the brush heads. I do like the lights - there is an indicator color light that tells you the mode, purple for carpets, blue for hardwood. There are headlights for getting under couches and chairs and the power shot turns the flower on the handle to red. This vacuum truly sucks up a lot of dirt. My daughter did a quick run through of the upper level and there was so much dirt and debris in the dirt catcher. Cleaning it is somewhat easy, release the tray and press the yellow down into the trash. The battery is true to what the box says, it lasts about 40 minutes. It does take about 3 hours to charge the battery when it is depleted. Overall, I love this vacuum and I would recommend to friends and family! I would purchase again!

The Shark Cordless Pet Stick Vac Is a great middle of the road vacuum for those times when you need a vacuum for light to middle volume jobs. Like its name implies it does a good job at picking up pet hair from rugs and hardwood/linoleum floors. It also excels at getting to those hard to reach places due to its long arm and lightweight design. It even has a power boost trigger to help in situations that might require a bit of extra suction. I have noticed however that on a couple of occasions I've found myself resorting to using that more often than not just to get a lot picked up. perhaps I attempted to pick up more than was intended or maybe it just didn't live up to the hype. Either way it still did a pretty decent job in about 90% of all the times I went to use it. One of my main gripes with it is there is no place to store the attachments when not in use, which means they get relegated to a drawer or a cabinet somewhere and hope you don't misplace them. That's kind of annoying. and really the only reason this didn't get 5 stars. Its lightweight portable design, and ability to handle messes within its class make this a really decent vacuum. The battery life is also very impressive.

This is really an excellent, simple vacuum that would be perfect for most. Particularly for those who have a lot of tight spaces to reach. If you are looking for something easy to put together then this is it. You can easily open the box and have it running in a couple of minutes. It is very lightweight and slim enough to easily tuck away. I have a spot that is out of the way that I can keep it plugged in and ready to go. The large dust bin will easily hold a full load from going over the entire house. And I might add it is super easy to open the bin for clearing. The battery life is said to be good for about 40 minutes. I can’t scientifically say that’s accurate, but I haven’t had any issues with the battery life. It easily transitions from carpet to hard floor on its own. In the past, I’ve found battery powered vacuums to not always have great suction. Not the case here. This has done an excellent job of picking up dirt and our cat’s fur. The included attachment makes it very easy to clean the furniture. And I’ve even used it on my car seats. I really can’t say anything bad about it. It is light, powerful, easy to use and can easily reach hard to get to spots. I can highly recommend it.

This vacuum is weak. It does not suck up dog hair from my hardwood floors for more than one minute before I have to clean out the roller and dump the hair. Expected a lot more from this brand

This is my first cordless vacuum, but I have been using Shark vacuums for years. This model is noticeably quieter than my older, corded vacuum which was a Shark rocket vacuum. The volume is important to me for two reasons: one, my ears are sensitive; and two, I often vacuum at night after work, and I live in a multi-dwelling unit. While you can audibly tell the vacuum is on, I don’t think it’s loud enough to disturb my neighbors. This cordless stick vacuum is light, thin and compact, so I don’t mind that it doesn’t come with a wall mount. You can either prop it up against a wall fully assembled, or you can detach the handheld vacuum portion from the wand and then hang the hook portion of the cannister/dust cup over the storage clip that is connected to the wand which makes the vacuum more compact. Storing it this way might conserve some space and further help to keep it out the way. With my older Shark vacuum, I can only store it standing up leaning against something, so I appreciate having a second storage option with this model. I like how power boost mode actually does increase power as opposed to just being a gimmick. You can hear and see the difference in suction power when it’s turned on. A con of it is that you must pull and hold the power boost tab the entire time to use this setting. Another con is the power boost mode will increase the volume of the vacuum; it is much quieter with it off. I like how this Shark model senses what type of floor it’s on automatically, prompting it to increase or decrease suction power. My older Shark vacuum does not do this. The first thing I noticed while using this pet cordless stick vacuum was the speed at which the switch was made; I began vacuuming a thick area rug in my living room, then moved to my wood floor, then moved to my kitchen floor tile. It changed power levels immediately. Also, this model has LED headlights that make it easier to vacuum debris in tight, poorly lit spaces, another feature that my older vacuum does not have. I do have a dog that sheds often (he’s a Pekingese mix), so I wanted something strong enough to pick up his hair. I am doubtful of the “self-cleaning” brush roll claims. While I don’t see any hair stuck in the unit now, I only had this vacuum for a week now and I expect the self-cleaning element to degrade over time. The vacuum roller in the powerhead is not completely bristle-free, but it is largely made of rubber to help cut down on the hair/fur getting stuck on the roller. I wouldn’t describe it as “self-cleaning” though. Unlike some older models, this cordless stick pet vacuum has a replaceable battery. I like that I can just buy a new battery instead of throwing the entire unit away, thus extending the life of the vacuum. It also has HEPA filtration and doesn’t seem to have one of those nasty removable filters that you have to clean which is a big upgrade compared to my older Shark rocket vacuum. I hate having to manually clean the filters and wait hours for them to dry, so I am happy I likely won’t have this problem with this model. Shark estimates the standard run time to be 40 minutes. Right out of the box it gave me 20-30 minutes of cleaning time before it died; however, it is recommended to fully charge the vacuum before using it. For me, it took three hours to charge after the first use. I do wish the charging time was faster. Ideally, it would be fully charged in an hour. CONCLUSION: Shark makes durable products; I’ve had my older Shark vacuum for four and ½ years now, so I am confident this model will last just as long. I intend to get a lot of use out of it, and I enjoy using it more than my corded model. It is just more convenient to use since it’s cordless; I can quickly move from room to room and do my stairs in the 40 minutes it gives you. For light cleanup jobs and weekly touching up, this Shark vacuum is perfect for cleaning apartments and small condos. It also seems easy enough for children to use (ages 10 or 12-years-old). It’s quiet to use, and its compact nature makes it easy to store in small corners and closets, so it’s truly ideal for apartment living.

It’s a decent vacuum if you’re expecting bare minimum. This section is not strong at all - it has to be in Turbo mode to really pick up much if any at all.

This is my review for the Shark Cordless Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with XL Dust Cup and LED Headlights in the Moonlight Blue color, and overall, I have been very happy with it. Vacuum is very affordable compared to others especially for someone looking for a lightweight cordless vacuum for everyday cleaning. I have two pets, a cockatoo bird and a pomsky dog. My Pomsky sheds like crazy, so having a vacuum that can easily pick up pet hair and bird food off the floor is sooo very important to me. This vacuum does a pretty good job picking up both pet hair and bird food. The suction is pretty good, good for everyday quick cleanups, and it makes it much easier to clean up messes without having to take out a my other heavy vacuum. This vacuum is very lightweight, which I really love. It is easy to carry around the house and doesn’t feel heavy and it isn’t difficult for me to use. I like that the vacuum it is cordless, and I don’t have to worry about plugging and unplugging it if I move from room to room constantly The LED headlights on the vacuum is a great feature. The lights make it so easy to see dirt, dust, pet hair, and other debris on the floor The vacuum works great on my hardwood floors. Most of my home has hardwood flooring, but I do not think it works as well on my carpet. I only have one large area rug in my home, so it’s not a big deal for me. The battery runtime is really short. I feel the vacuum run time could be improved. Packaging says 40 minutes of runtime, but I think it’s more like half and hour. I wish the battery lasted at least an hour. I think having a longer runtime would be a lot better but it’s not a deal breaker. Vacuum charges pretty quick I can usually charge it and use it again without too much of a wait. I also like the attachments that come with the vacuum. Having different attachments is veryyy helpful when you have pets because pet hair can end up in many different places. The XL dust cup is easy to empty and clean, which is important because of my pets I don’t want to constantly struggle with removing debris from the dust cup, and this one is very easy to clean. As far as noise goes, I do not think this vacuum is super loud. it does make noise like any other vacuum, but I think the noise level is good. I think the Shark Cordless Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum is a good vacuum for the price. It is lightweight, easy to use, convenient, has good suction, includes useful attachments, and does a good job picking up pet hair and everyday messes. I really like it for hardwood floors, and the LED headlights are a great feature for helping me see dirt and hair that I might otherwise miss. issues I listed above are not dealbreakers for me. I would recommend this vacuum to a friend.

Really don’t like how it picks up trash it’s a slow vacuum and I know it’s handheld but I could have found a better one. I just didn’t want to pay much but it is what it is.

While unpacking my new Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum, I first noticed how securely packaged all of the components were. Each piece was snug and wrapped in its designated location. Along with the main vacuum unit, you receive the following attachments: a crevice tool, for those hard-to-reach areas, and a 2-in-1 pet-multi tool, for handling pet hair in furniture and more. While waiting for the battery to charge, I assembled the unit. This took all of a few seconds as the unit assembly was extremely intuitive. Build quality seems sturdy. The fully assembled unit weighs less than 10 lbs. and is very portable. A nice touch is the ability to dock the handheld vacuum unit onto the wand, making the entire unit less cumbersome and making storage simple. As for operating the unit, I found that the Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum was more than capable of handling the majority of my vacuuming needs, without the need to pull out my larger primary vacuum cleaner. This unit has more than enough suction power and battery life to move thru every room in our home on a single charge. For jobs that required changing the configuration, mainly furniture and tight corners, the vacuum performed flawlessly as a highly portable and maneuverable unit. The Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum is my first introduction to cordless stick vacuums. Overall, I'm impressed with the portability and performance of this unit. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for the power of the larger corded models, while having the ease of storage and maneuverability of a portable unit that is more than capable of handling most, if not all, of your vacuuming needs. I have now had the pleasure of using this Shark Upright vacuum for pets and all now for 10 days. As with other Shark vacuums I have used and owned, this is simply a superb vacuum in every way. The ergonomics of this vacuum are wonderful and one can easily use standing upright and underneath couches chairs and tables easily. Personally have a lot of small tables with art objects on them and this hinge on the vacuum allows for easy cleaning under tables. The charging is quick and the battery lasts about the listed time. I clocked 38 minutes on mixed use carpet and hardwood. Plenty to clean the two level home. I was quite pleasantly surprised on the suction power of this unit as I very rarely needed to do a second pass on a specific area. Somehow, the roller simply does not get caught up with pet hair ot human hair like other vacuums rollers I have encountered. This is a big plus for those with lots of animal hair, human or otherwise. The LED light is a nice addition for those darker areas. Overall, this is a very nice offering from Shark and expected given this respected brand history. I cannot imagine one would be disappointed unless you need long battery life. Solid A here.

Shark Cordless Pet, a cordless stick vacuum with an XL dust cup and LED headlights, is a very lightweight model for cleaning throughout your house. As the owner of a cat and a dog, I appreciate their strong hair-pickup capabilities. The roller head is designed to prevent hair from getting tangled. This is a true upgrade in design. I never thought I would love a bright headlight, but I love the LED headlight; it really lights the way to cleaner floors. It uses floor-detection technology to go seamlessly across all four surfaces: carpet and hardwood. With a very capable 40-minute runtime, you can get through your chores very fast without recharging. It is multifunctional; you can turn the stick into a handbag and take it out to the car, the RV, the steps, virtually anywhere. As a pet owner, parent, and grandparent, I find the crevice tool really helps with those hard-to-reach places. The pet multi-tool gets all the hair you didn't even know was in your carpet, your furniture, and all over the house that you don't see. With a no-bag dust reservoir, clean up is easy, with one-button pour into the trash, and hands stay clean. This is truly a very nice everyday household vacuum worth checking out.
