It is not worth the money. The associate assured me that it was a great vacuum for pet hair and dust. I think maybe for a very small apartment with minimal pet hair and dust it probably works fine. I have a cat and a bunny and this vacuum could not keep up with the fur. It would fill up and clog within 6 minutes of use, and this is with daily vacuuming. I don't recommend it at all. It also cannot pick up mid sized debris like the little dirt chunks.

I must say that the team at Shark/Ninja are one of the few in the small appliance space that continue to impress me with great products, really good software, and innovation. The Shark Detect Clean & Empty (Shark DCE from here on out) is another notch in their belt. After about two weeks of use I can safely say that this is an OUTSTANDING choice for someone with an apartment or small home, or perhaps a larger home with less carpeting. My home is about 3300 sq/ft and I consider that to be large. Not McMansion large, but not a starter home either. We also have tile and engineered 'hardwood' all throughout the house and a handful of thick rugs in certain areas for decoration. While the Shark DCE had the power reserve to clean the whole home, it DID NOT have the bin capacity. And while the empty process is quick and automatic, it does force you to 'go back to base'. That's why I would say anyone with less than 1800-2000 sq/ft would probably find this to be perfect as long as they have mostly solid flooring as well. My favorite thing about the Shark DCE is the hinged vacuum column that allows me to properly get under my furniture and clean up all the dust bunnies that invariably build up back there. I could get under every single piece of furniture except for the recliners that have zero clearance. But all the couches, chairs, and beds were no match for the Shark DCE AND I didn't have to crawl on my hands a knees to make it work! Which, at my age, might result in me not getting back up again, any time soon! The Shark DCE is admirably light and well powered to handle pretty much anything you throw at it. I can't speak as to 'normal' wall to wall carpet but I can speak to how the vacuum handles tight-knit and dense area rugs. While the variable power does help clean those areas, I did find that it almost feels like it is TOO strong or the suction becomes a hinderance to movement. It would almost feel like I was trying to push the vacuum over sand or something. That level of suction is great for getting a solid cleaning run but it could also make it a bit exhausting to fight if I had much more carpet in the house. The base station is great in that it is not over-wrought and blends nicely even if it is out on display. It empties and charges the vacuum quickly and the storage bin, (which I have yet to fill despite several vacuum runs), is super easy to remove and empty. I REALLY appreciate Shark not making the base station require a separate bag for the bin that I would have to buy repeatedly and perhaps be unable to buy in the future. It gave up a consumables revenue stream for them but it is a real win for buyers. My only disappointment with the Shark DCE is the included accessories package. The simple crevice tool and basic fabric head are just that, BASIC. I was accidentally sent a different version of this vacuum first and didn't notice until I had opened it, and while the tools were still pretty basic, there was a nicer crevice tool, a powered furniture head, and a nice dusting head. What it DIDN'T have and why I swapped it out, is the afore mentioned ability to get under furniture, which for me is the best part. To have THAT, PLUS the nice tool set would be the bee's knees. I think that if you are looking for a very good vacuum for a sub-2000 sq/ft home or maybe office, that you can't go wrong with the Shark - Detect Clean & Empty.

I remember a number of years ago I received my first Shark vacuum cleaner. It was a corded one. And that thing was absolutely amazing. I loved it. It was the best vacuum I've ever owned, or even used of my family even (like when I was a kid). Then a few years later I was able to get a Shark battery operated vacuum. And while the suction wasn't as powerful as the corded Shark it was still powerful enough for my then home: an apartment with little carpet (only in the two bedrooms, everything else was tile, laminate, etc). I still have my Shark Cordless Pro Vacuum with Clean Sense IQ (which I got in 2022) and it is still alive and kicking (I believe that model number is IZ562H but I could be wrong)! The Shark IW4626 is something I definitely wanted to give a shot because I really want a cordless vacuum that is on par with a corded one as far as performance on carpeted & non-carpeted floors. Unboxing & First Impressions Having had 2 other Shark vacuums over the years the styling is definitely something that I am used to. This Shark IW4626 isn't super heavy & with the included base it will set nicely in the corner of our kitchen where it is out of sight & out of mind until we need to use. But also, with that, the looks won't make it out of place either like some weather event, or the inhaling video game character from our youth, named ones. Rating: 5/5 First Usage I was able to get everything unboxed, set up & then let the device charge all the way up. The unboxing and all that only took a few minutes. I was able to test it out & I was surprised at the suction from this cordless Shark IW4626. It was able to pick up some items that our original Shark Cordless Pro Vacuum with Clean Sense IQ (aka IZ562H, again, I think that is the model number) wasn't able to pick up. Since I had to get back to work I went ahead & set the device on it's base station so it could charge & emptied out. It auto-emptied itself & began to charge up. So far, color me impressed. Rating: 5/5 A (Business) Week of Usage We have a rather large Chihuahua in the family, and he sheds like crazy. So, we decided to test our new Shark IW4626 out. Keep in mind that we have just about an even mix of hard floors and carpeted floors so it was put through its paces. On the hard floors it zoomed through everything like it was butter. We still had battery left so we went about vacuuming the rest of the house. We made it through all but 1 room of the 7 rooms (including a long hallway). In the last room, our "office, computer & piano room" it got mostly through it before calling it quits. And while it did take a while to charge it we were able to finish that room with our other Shark Vacuum so that we could test more the next day. Every day we followed the same pattern & routine as far as rooms go but we just vacuumed each room until the room was clean & then moved on to the next one. Every time the device would run out after 45-48 minutes. Not terrible at all. I know some might not be super impressed with that but honestly we don't spend that much time vacuuming every single day since we have other devices that help us to keep the house clean multiple times throughout the week. This vacuum slots into our home very nicely right along with those. Rating: 5/5 Auto-Dumping & Auto-Charging The auto-dumping feature is a little louder than we would have liked but it isn't anything that we can't live with. We are totally fine with it, especially since we have it furthest away from basically everything except the back door in the corner of the kitchen. So again, out of sight, out of mind, mostly not disturbing anyone. The Auto-Charging is great. Although, I worry that the battery will be shot in no time because batteries kept at a constant charge, without being fully or almost fully depleted before being fully charged again it is going to be constantly toping it up which is known to cause issues for batteries. I know it depends on the type of battery, and while I'd love to say I'm sure Shark has thought of this, the unfortunately reality is that most manufacturers do not unless they have to for some reason. So here is hoping the batteries, even with them being kept fully charged most of the time, will last for years to come like our Shark IZ562H. Rating: 5/5* (*with a concern about long-term battery health/life being left charging all the time) Closing Remarks As you can tell I truly like Shark vacuums, corded and cordless both, because of the great experiences I've had with them. I am sure there might be even better vacuums out there but I truly have yet to find one. This one checks all the boxes for us, and it fits nicely into our stable of cleaning products & gadgets. I don't think you can go wrong with the Shark IW4626, because we sure haven't! Overall: 20/20

Straight into it, this is a great cordless vacuum, the runtime is decent and the versatility of the unit is fantastic, from a stick vacuum to adjusting to a literal L shape to reach under tables and cabinets, to an ultra portable is amazing. I love how one minute i can be vacuuming my floors, to the next; removing a few pieces and going out to clean the car with this. The unit comes with two accessories (a crevice and upholstery tool), i'll have to admit i have seen fancier ones on other units by Shark, but these get the job done the same way so you're not really missing out on much. The unit also features a bagless base, for automatic emptying of the unit, to where you can wait to empty the waste bin while keeping the primary vacuum empty, which is pretty fantastic, makes for cleanup being alot easier. The vacuum itself is pretty lightweight and comfortable to use. The runtime on the battery says is approximately an hour in eco mode and i would have to say that's about what i got out of it, give or take. The suction power on this is pretty good for a cordless, as I also have a corded standup Shark vacuum that i purchased last year, the Shark brand has pretty much convinced me they are the best vacuum company when it comes to suction and power, so I might be a little biased here, but over the years we have purchased alot of different vacuums and the Shark brand is by far my favorite due to how well it works; With that said this vacuum is good, as it does run off a battery you will have to expect the different between a corded and noncorded as far as power goes to be a little less, but to be a little relatable, lets say the corded is 100% the best, this one for me falls at about 85%... but based on other vacuum brands I have used over the years; I would place others at 25% and this one at 100% better, when it comes to the cordless vacuums we have accumulated over the years. This really is a good vacuum in comparison. pros good suction attachments (crevice & upholstery) automatic waste removal (empties into a 2L base when docked) eco & boost modes flexible wand (unit can shape to an L to get under things easier) ultra portable, breaks down to smaller size to use in vehicles etc cons personal tastes here i guess, but for me; the base of the docking station is a little large i'm not sure they could make it much smaller, but perhaps a slimmer version (stretch the canister that it empties into upwards and shrink the depth a little bit perhaps could be worked out somehow) but i must admit this is my personal preference more than anything, i would just like it closer to the wall and not sticking out as much, as where I am keeping this is just a busy hallway, so the more room the better (again a personal gripe)) Other than this, there really isn't much to complain about. Overall this is a great powerful cordless versatile vacuum as i have mentioned, the ability to go from carpet to tile to my car is great, it's alot lighter than my corded and since it auto empties, it is always ready to go in a moments notice. The chargetime on this doesn't seem to long, i'm afraid i didn't time that but it was ready when I was to use it the next time(s) so nothing to complain about there. If you are looking for a good powerful cordless, I would definitely try this one out by Shark.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Shark products. SharkNinja has been in my home for decades — literally. I still have a little Ninja mini-processor that’s over 20 years old, and it runs like its brand new. So, I came into this with some pretty high expectations, and I’m happy to say the Shark Detect Clean & Empty lived up to them. Let me just put it the way I experienced it. Putting it together was as simple as it gets. No wrestling with parts, no “which way does this face,” none of that. It all clicks together in a way that tells you the engineers actually cared. The vacuum itself feels solid, not flimsy or cheap. And it’s surprisingly quiet for something with this much suction. I also really like the color - it’s a good-looking machine. This thing moves from carpet to hard floor like it already knows where it’s going. The Detect Clean system really does adjust power on its own, and you can feel it digging into the carpet fibers. It’s the kind of “deep clean” you can actually hear. The edge suction is one of my favorite surprises. It gets right up along the walls and baseboards instead of leaving that little dirt line that other vacuums love to ignore. The Auto-Empty Feature… this is the feature that made me smile. When you’re done vacuuming, you dock the vacuum and VOILA! it empties itself. No dust cloud in your face, no tapping the bin against the side of the trash can, no inhaling half the contents you just cleaned off the floor. Just… whoosh. Clean. Done. It’s such a small luxury, but once you have it, there’s no going back. The run time is excellent. I never felt rushed or like I had to hurry through a room before the battery tapped out. Shark boasts of a 60-minute charge life, but the only way I think I would personally come close to 60 minutes is if I wanted to do a deep clean on the sofas, chairs, and other upholstered furniture. The upholstery tool and crevice tool both work well. I will say, though, that the upholstery tool would be even better if there were a flexible hose attached. Using it directly from the wand can get a little awkward after a while. Not terrible, just something to be aware of. The HEPA filter is a nice reassurance. The air coming out feels clean - no warm dusty smell like some vacuums have. If you have allergies, this matters. FINAL THOUGHTS Overall, this vacuum just feels like a reliable addition to the home - the kind of appliance that actually makes life easier instead of adding more steps. It cleans deeply, transitions beautifully from one surface to the next, looks good, and empties itself like magic. If you’re considering this model, I’d say go for it. It’s well-built, powerful, and convenient in all the right ways. I know that I highly recommend it! A very welcome addition to my collection of household tools.

    Easy Empty Shark Stick Vac

The Shark Detect and Clean & Empty (Maybe DCE4626?) is simple and intuitive to operate. The MultiFlex wand folds to reach under furniture, and the vacuum is easy to switch between upright and handheld modes. PowerDetect sensor adjusts suction based on debris it encounters, but can struggle in low-light areas. The 2-liter self-emptying/charging base is the standout feature of this vacuum system. After docking, the vacuum can empty into the base, minimizing contact with dust. Though you’ll still need to empty and clean the dust bin in the base. This system keeps the vacuum body itself from getting dusty upon emptying. I also appreciate that there are no bags that need to be purchased down the line. Shark claims up to 60 minutes of runtime, but actual usage of the DCE with PowerDetect and LED lights is closer to 35–45 minutes (though I've never vacuumed for more than 45 minutes. The DCE much like a lot of other similar stick vacs is unable to stand on its own. Smaller vacuums are usually not to quiet and the DCE is no exception. The motor whine and base emptying cycle are audible and you know when they are running. But when is vacuuming a peaceful time? In actual clean up performance with the dual-brush roll design the DCE has excellent pickup especially on hard surfaces. On low pile carpets/rugs the DCE has strong suction and good edge cleaning. The DCE comes with several handy attachment tools BUT with no place to store them. Wish the base had additional storage. In addition to that the base and vacuum together take up more space than most cordless setups and need to be stored somewhere with access to power. The DCE PowerDetect system relies on the Dirt sensors to be effective. These sensors like all plastic vacuum roller heads become statically charged and become dust magnets and require regular cleaning to stay accurate. You should always clean/wipe down your vacuum after use though. The Shark Detect Clean & Empty is convenient with auto-emptying and effective with the dirt detection for everyday quick clean ups. It’s solid for mixed surfaces, but at the current price the base size without storage, noise and sensor quirks might add some frustration.

The Good: - The suction power is excellent, and the Detect Tech feature is surprisingly smart — it automatically increases power when it senses heavier debris, so you get deeper cleaning without changing modes. - The auto-empty base is a game changer. It charges the vacuum and clears the dust bin after each run, which means far less mess and almost no hands-on maintenance between uses. - The PowerFins brushroll handles both carpets and hard floors well, and it does a great job preventing hair wrap — especially helpful for pet owners. - The built-in HEPA filtration helps trap allergens and fine dust, and the bright floor lights make hidden dirt stand out so you don’t miss anything. - Battery life is solid and more than enough for daily cleaning in average-sized homes and apartments. - The flexible wand and smooth steering make it easy to clean under couches, around furniture, and in tight spaces without feeling clumsy. - Setup is simple, and the vacuum feels lightweight and easy to maneuver. Paired with the auto-empty dock, it feels like a very modern, well-thought-out cleaning system. The Bad: - When the vacuum kicks into high suction or Boost mode, the noise level bumps up — not terrible, but noticeable. - Like most cordless vacuums, very fine dust on hard surfaces may take an extra sweep or two to fully collect. - Charging time isn’t particularly fast, so larger cleaning sessions are easier if you start with a full battery. - The dock is super useful, but it does take up a bit of floor space, so plan ahead where it will live. Overall:
This vacuum setup feels genuinely convenient — strong cleaning performance, hands-free dust disposal, and helpful smart features that make daily cleaning easy. A few small quirks exist, but nothing that holds it back. For me, it’s an easy 5 stars and one of the most practical cordless systems I’ve used.

We are replacing our Dyson cordless with the Shark Detect unit. Came packaged very well, no damage. Assembly is very straightforward and not hard. Would like to have a small motorized head unit for doing things like stairs etc. I have used this to vacuum our entire house that contains a mixture of hardwood floors and carpet. (1800 square feet) I especially like the detect feature that determines what type of surface you are vacuuming. It automatically knows whether you are on a hard surface or carpet and adjusts the suction accordingly. It also has edge detection that knows when you are against a wall and brightens the headlight on the side against the wall. I have not vacuumed anything that was extremely dirty so I have not experienced the dirt detection feature. Battery life is great and did my entire house on one charge with plenty of battery left over. The auto emptying is great, all you do is return the unit to the charging housing and it automatically sucks out whatever has been collected. This eliminates the dust cloud you get when you empty the vacuum. The debris container is easy to remove and empty when it is full. I also like the fact that it does not have to be wall mounted, so you just hang the vacuum in the stand and it charges and empties all in one easy step. You can also pivot the wand so you can vacuum under things like the bed or furniture. Accessories are easy to install and remove and work well. It is easy to steer and does a great job picking up anything on the floor. My Dyson would have a tendency to kick larger debris out from the head. It comes with a 5 year warranty on the vacuum and a 1 year warranty on the battery which is detachable and replaceable on its own, unlike my Dyson which does not have an easily replaceable battery. Overall I am very happy and expect to get many years of service from this unit.

Hey, let me tell you about the Shark Detect Clean and Empty vacuum. It now comes with a charging stand that doubles as a trash bin or container. Out of the box, it looks terrific, and its assembly is straightforward. The new emptying system is really great for keeping dust from getting into the air after you use it. I was impressed by the power; it has an incredible suction. It also uses suction to empty the vacuum dust bin. You also get a crevice and upholstery tool in the box. One of the things I didn't like about it was the way it folds up on its own very easily, and it seems to bog down at times. But it adjusts and gets right back to the suction you want. I also love that you can go from hard floor to carpeted floors seamlessly without stopping. It has a display on it that supposedly detects dirt, but hey, it keeps you entertained. Get off the face, battery level, and the mold button is also there, right next to the power button on top. Modes include Eco Auto and boost. The LED also gives you information to read a high amount of debris with a ticket. Orange led lets you know debris is detected and cleaned, and blue indicates a clean area, which was cool because it keeps you from going back over places you've already cleaned. It states it has a 60-minute runtime, but I haven't read it that long. And I noticed it also uses something called power fans instead of bristles, so it gives a better clean by dragging across your surfaces. If you're looking for a vacuum that doesn't take up much space and is really effective at doing the job, you might want to check this one out.

This is one of the smarter stick vacuums I've purchased. I like how it can adapt its own power based off of the type of floor I'm vacuuming on. There seems to be a seamless transition between hardwood and carpet, while also detecting when it's near an edge. When the vacuum is near an edge, it powers up that side of the vacuum only which is really mind-blowing. The suction power is pretty impressive for it to have a small motor. The dust bin is rather small as well, but every session you are able to dump the vacuum automatically once on the docking station. There's also a night mode button where the duck will not automatically empty out the vacuum unless pressed again. Night mode helps if you are vacuuming at late hours and don't want to disturb. Battery life is pretty solid, holding for a good couple of hours, especially with the floor and edge detection. One thing I would improve on are the attachments which are pretty standard crevice tool and flat. The stick vacuum also has a button in the middle that allows the hose to be flexible, which I'm not sure what that feature is for. Maybe to reach ceiling fans or under the couch but I haven't discovered a purpose for it yet. I really love his vacuum so far. Very lightweight but I feel if misused it could break.

The Shark - Detect Clean & Empty, Cordless Vacuum with 2L Auto-Empty System, Intelligent Detect Tech, HEPA, 60Min Runtime, MultiFlex - Burnt Ashes is a fantastic little vacuum. I've been using Shark Vacuum products for the last 10 years or so. This new vacuum with its clean and empty feature has been super convenient. Having two dogs that always bring in some leaves/sticks/whatever sticks to them while outside. Our kitchen always feels like it's kinda messy due to this. Enter this new Shark Vacuum, it's made keeping our house clean a much easier process. The the Powerfins Multi-Surface brushroll gets the job done, whether it's hardwood floors, vinyl or carpet, this gets the job done very well. Being able to attach included nozzels/accessories I'm able to easily clean upholstry and even the stairs. Once you're done using the vacuum you simply place it back onto the included base/stand that doubles as a charging station as well as the featured Clean and Empty base. This will actually suck out the dirt/dust/debris that is in the vacuum after use. The fact that it's vacuum sealed and easy to dispose of makes this vacuum a clear leader amoungst other competitors. If you have pets this is vacuum is a great value.

The Shark Detect Clean & Empty cordless vacuum works amazing. It is very light weight and very simple to handle. The part i like most is it will auto empty itself when it is returned to the base. The suction is great, and the auto detect feature helps you conserve battery life. Additionally, it can detect when it is close to the walls and will speed up to help you get the dust and dirt that can hide or be missed by other vacuums. The two attachments work great but, in many cases, it is more of a hassle to use because they are so stiff. Attachments like that in my personal opinion are made to be used with a flexible hose vacuum. Overall is a small compact design that will get the kids to help you out. Now moving on to the things I disliked. My biggest with this vacuum is the fact that is does not swivel very much and can be hard to get it to go where you want without lifting it up. As previously mentioned, that battery life can be good if used on the auto detect setting, but it is horrible when you use the max suction. For those two reasons i gave it 4 stars but not a deal breaker I would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a light, compact yet powerful vacuum.

There are many options for vaccum’s available. Many excel at one feature or another. The Shark Detect and Clean is a fantastic vacuum that does a lot to keep your floors clean. Fist, the size is about perfect. It’s easy to carry and move around. It’s very easy to put together and the attachments are useful. Its attaches to the base well. Very happy with that. One of the best features of this unit is how it assists in identifying where the pot iis clean and where it’s not. There is a light on the unit that changes from red to yellow to green as the floor gets cleaner. If you see red, you spend a little more time there until it turns green. We have hard wood floors and it does seem to be very accurate. This light system really helps keep the focus on cleaning. Finally, the auto empty feature works great. Once you put the vacuum on the base, it automatically empties the vacuum into the base. It’s powerful and really cleans out the vacuum. This is a great device and I highly recommend it.

I have had a love and hate relationship with stick style vacuums and too be honest mainly falls on the hate line. I had two major problems with the suction power was not great and battery life was also not good. So I’m very happy to report that this Shark vacuum solves both of those issues. The box says battery can last 60 minutes and even doing some deep cleaning and several rooms I never ran out of power. And the fact that the vacuum adjust its power on the fly really helps with suction. On carpet or hardwood it worked great. Having it ready and fully charge is really easy as it charges on the base and it doubles where the garbage picked up by the vacuum goes so you can dump once it’s full. The flexible handle is also a nice touch being able to get under tables or the couches without changing anything is great. I no longer have to move my couch to vacuum. Overall the shark vacuum has great flexibility you can use to to vacuum a car or your house and it’s so easy to use and has great power and longevity if your in the market for a vacuum I definitely recommend this one

This is an exceptionally versatile thin vacuum. It’s about the size of a standard drill, but a tad lighter in weight. Really good suction. Used it to vacuum out my car as well as hardwood flooring and rugs. Automatically senses the difference and adjusts suction accordingly. Also works great to get the dust bunnies hidden in corners and along baseboards. Works great in a home with two dogs and two cats. Senses and cleans the vacuum head really well. The charge stand/dustbin works really good as well. Easy to clean. Charges super fast and is good for a few cleanings per charge.the footprint of the charge stand I rather small, so it’s easy to plug it into a closet and “forget it”. Gone are the days of giant vacuums attached to a basketball! Overall this is a highly recommended smart vacuum. It feels durable and the motor is fairly quiet for such a small device. My cats typically run from vacuums. They didn’t give this one a second glance. Perfect for apartment dwellers or tiny home owners. Won’t take up much space.

I spent a few weeks using the Shark Detect Clean and Empty Cordless system, and overall I would put it at about 3.5 out of 5 stars. It is convenient and surprisingly powerful for a compact cordless vacuum, but a few design choices hold it back from feeling like a premium product. The build quality is the first thing I noticed. The vacuum is lightweight and easy to maneuver, but the materials feel a bit cheap. There is some creakiness in the wand and joints when the vacuum flexes, and most of the body is made from plastic that does not feel especially sturdy. It performs well enough, but the construction does not inspire full confidence in long term durability. Suction power is a strong point. For such a small unit, it picks up debris impressively well, especially when using the Boost mode. The Eco and Auto modes exist, but there is not much reason to use them when Power consistently delivers better cleaning with only a modest hit to runtime. It is a simple system that works best when you keep it at full strength. The auto empty feature is the highlight though. Docking the vacuum and having it automatically empty into a large base bin is extremely convenient. It keeps dust contained, reduces mess, and makes the vacuum feel more hands free. The only catch is that the dock must stay plugged in, which limits where you can place it. Even so, it adds a level of convenience that noticeably improves the experience. However, I also had one instance of the vacuum getting clogged and the auto empty function not being able to do its job. Only one time from multiple uses/day, but still worth mentioning. Battery life is rated up to 60 minutes, but that number mostly applies to lower settings. Boost mode drains it much faster. Only having one battery included feels a bit limiting, especially for larger spaces. The vacuum also has a very small onboard dust bin, which means you will be returning to the dock frequently during longer cleaning sessions. I think for me in only-Boost mode I could get about 20 minutes of suction time. The lack of attachments reduces the versatility and makes detailed cleaning a bit harder. Despite these issues, the vacuum still performs well and the auto empty system genuinely elevates the overall convenience. It is a solid mid range option suited for quick daily cleaning, smaller homes, or anyone who wants a cordless vacuum that stays out of the way. It simply falls short of feeling high end due to the build quality, minimal accessories, and battery limitations. If you want something simple, powerful, and easy to maintain, this will get the job done. If you want more durability, flexibility, or premium features, you may find yourself wishing for more.

The Shark Detect Clean & Empty is the latest cordless vacuum from the SharkNinja team. It caught my eye for the self cleaning/emptying feature so I thought I would give it a try. First off, let me just say that my last few cordless stick vacuums have been Dyson and that is what I will compare this too. Out of the box the unit is easy to assemble and you can be vacuuming in less than five minutes (but you really should let the battery charge first). The overall construction of the vacuum itself is average. There is quite a bit of flex in the tube that extends to the floor at the upper joint which didn't exactly give me a ton of confidence about the longevity of the vac. Given the weight of the head it is strange to me that Shark didn't beef the joints up a bit. The stand seems well built and comes fully assembled out of the box. Let's cut to the chase and talk about the actual cleaning power of the unit. The head is designed for carpeted and hard flooring. I found it was about average on both floor types from a cleaning standpoint. The suction power is not as much as I am used to with the Dyson's I have used and the head doesn't seem to get as good a seal to the floor either. So, while it certainly appears to clean the floor and it does visually, when I followed up behind it with my Dyson Detect I was pretty shocked at how much hair and dust was still on the floor. I can't say I was super impressed, but I suppose it does the job. Lastly, the head locks in the a 90 degree angle when sitting in the stand which is convenient to keep the overall height and placement a little lower. Unfortunately, I did find that when vacuuming if you tend to pul the vacuum back a little too far the head locks into the 90 degree position which then requires manual intervention to unlock. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but certainly an occasional paint. The self emptying feature was easily the nicest feature of the vacuum. It works and works well. It is a tad loud, but brief. I was able to vacuum about 2000 sq ft (main floor) on a charge easily and could have probably done the whole house (3500 sq ft) if I was quick. Overall, the Shark is pretty middle of the road. If you find it on sale it is probably worth a shot, but otherwise I would give some others a try as well.
