Glides over messes like a shark in water

The Shark DetectPro Cordless Stick Vacuum with QuadClean is a fabulous quick tool around the house. The Shark/Ninja family has taken ahold through my kitchen cooking needs and now it helps clean the kitchen too! This model is light. Previously, we had a stick vacuum that was corded. My wife actually would use the stick vacuum we had - she avoids the standard traditional one secondary to weight and so the Shark DetectPro is a game changer. Shark claims to have made the vacuum 30% lighter and compared to our other vacuum it is most definitely lighter. This really plays a role in the motivation to grab the vacuum to clean up dirt or a mess. With that, the Cordless feature is another game changer. A quick grab and go to clean up a mess. Both myself and wife use it frequently. And with a 40-minute run time, lets be serious I get tired before the vacuum does. One of my favorite aspects is the conversion to hand vac, allowing for a quick zoom-up of unwanted mess, a bug or more! There is technology for cleaning on various surfaces, which enhances the efficiency in my opinion. Overall leaving a more than acceptable clean. We have not had a situation yet where we thought the vacuum let us down. I will note, there is a HEPA filtration system, which I guess is cool? I had not considered the blowing of dirt/allergens into the air while vacuuming, but it makes sense and this design works to prevent this. As an asthmatic, I appreciate the thought (just not sure how much impact it really makes). Hanging storage is a plus also. All-in-all the clean is equivalent to a Shark eating a school of fish or a ninja slicing a fruit

Impressive vacuum! I’ve owned many Shark/Ninja appliances over the years and I’ve never been disappointed by them. The Shark detect pro cleans anything I throw at it with ease, from vinyl, tile, and both thick and thin carpet such as floor mats. This machine has a very ergonomic design to it. I've owned a number of stick vacuums and many have the same or similar feel; a sense of dicomfort to the hands. Units with a trigger are typically the worst offenders. Often requiring a button or lever to lock it into the ON position. What sets this unit apart is the ergonomics of the handle combined with a trigger/buttonless grip. Just press a button on the end and go. Once on your cleaning run, navigating different floor types is no problem. A pair of wheels glide it easily across various surfaces with minimal effort. The edge detect sensor gives you light where you need it, shifting light beads to the side running along the edge. The same lights provide plenty of light along the ground revealing every spec of dust the eye may not perceive from a standing position without its aid. Modes can be selected from the end button, from auto, eco, and boost. I typically just leave it on auto to simplify my life and let the sensors do their thing. Once cleaning is complete, it's time to clean the vac. Disassembly of the vac is a simple button found at the joints; brush head, tube, and vacuum. Clearing the dustbin is as simple as a single click of a button. Cleaning and dusting out the filters is a simple click and twist. Another twist to get the brush head roller out and cleaned. Once complete, assembly takes no time at all. Storaging this unit is where things get odd. Removing the motor and resting it on the vertically locked tube shaft is the only official manner. This makes it bulky. A simple bump of the handle will send it tumbling if not rolling out teetering. Leaving it assembled isn't an option as it will fall back as it rolls away. The only viable option is pinning it between a tall object, wall, piece of furniture, etc. and a solid object to prevent it from rolling. Some examples I've found are resting the hilt of the handle on furniture or other objects which doesn't require pinning the brush head. Alternatively, pinning the brush head with just about anything and resting the handle on a wall is sufficient. Overall, while I love the machine, it's ease of use and it's performance. I would have loved a more modern storage option. This is worth 5-stars

I've had many stick vacuum's in my day, and this one is up there on my list of favorites. There are a few minor quirks though, and I'll get to that. Setup: Very easy. Snap a few pieces together, and plug it in. Use: I use this mainly with the brush roll, but to switch around to the wand or crevice tools is easy. Just press the tab, and slide off the brush tool and click on the wand or other tool you are going to use. General use is you press the on/off button, and let it do its automatic detection thing! There are lights on the brushroll that automatically illuminate when the room is a little darker to help you see what is ahead of you and what you are cleaning. There is also an indicator light on the brush roll and by the power button that shows how much dirt the vacuum detects. When you are vacuuming, the suction power will change based on dirt detection, carpet/rug detection, and corner detection. In my experience this works quite well, and the suction goes up and down as I go on and off rugs, as well as when I hit a dirty spot. If I hug a wall with the brush roll, the suction also increases to try and get those pesky pieces of dirt out of corners or against base boards. Overall: Battery life is on par with other stick vacuums. You aren't doing your whole house with this (probably), but you are going to get most, if not all, of what you need to get cleaned with this. The brush roll does not seem to tangle with hair very easily, which is a plus. My only gripe is it does not come with a way to mount to the wall, or a stand. You have to plug in a barrel type plug to the side to charge the battery, and it simply sits on the floor. It cannot freestand on its own unless you take the main motor off and set it next to the brush roll. The dirt bin is a little awkward to empty, but not too bad. Overall, it is a nice vacuum, with a little room for improvement.

The first thing that struck me about this vacuum is how quiet it is. In the eco mode, it’s quiet enough where you can still hold a conversation with someone or still be able to hear music playing on a bluetooth speaker. In the Auto mode where it adjust suction based on the amount of dirt it detects, it’s fairly quiet as well. Another impressive thing about this vacuum is that it provides a great deal of suction which surprised me since its so small and light. The automatic “DirtDetect” feature does a really good job at sensing the surface and amount of dirt, automatically adjusting the amount of suction. The brush head attachment also does a great job at picking up debris from both hard surfaces as well as carpets. I have fairly thick carpet in my bedroom and it’s able to pick up dirt while also not getting bogged down with the thicker carpet fibers. On thinner carpet or hard surfaces, it has this very light feel to it where it almost feels like it’s floating over the surface. Kind of hard to explain but it makes maneuvering it very easy. The only complaint I have is that I wish it came with a wall mount when not in use where it would also charge it. It does have this clever way of using the brush head as a stand when not in use but I feel at this price point it should include an attachment like that. For its size and weight, this vacuum packs a punch offering a good amount of versatility with its included brush head and nozzle attachment.

I've been using this Shark cordless vacuum for a few weeks now and find it a handy addition for around the house. Definitely works best on hard surfaces, but has some power for carpeted surfaces as well. Great for things like spilling dry cereal in the kitchen or daily/weekly tidying up etc. but wont entirely replace your plug in vacuum. Battery life is pretty decent, depending on motor setting of course, but its kind of clumsy to charge due to the lack of included stand or wall mount. Its prone to fall over if you try and lean it up in a corner, so you have to find somewhere to wedge it while your charging or not using the vacuum. Suction power is alright, again much more ideal for hard surfaces than trying to clean a lot of dirt out of your carpet. The unit is super lightweight and very easy to use, I think the way you empty the canister could be improved on. Nothing worth taking a deep dive into but most of the time I disconnect it from the base to empty so hopefully the electrical connections for connecting the motor to the beater head will stay functional. Overall though it has been nice to have, I primarily use this for any daily cleaning tasks and then bust out the big heavy plug in vac occasionally for the deep clean. Its like a dust buster on steroids so if that sounds good to you then I would recommend considering this shark unit.

So far, we are loving this vacuum. Have not gotten strings stuck around the spinning portion like you would on other vacuums. Interesting design to store it. You take the hand vacuum part off and place it at the base. Why 4 stars for me. First is that it only comes with a single battery. It would have been nice to include 2 batteries so that you can charge one and still use the vacuum or at least give a long cord that you could use corded. My kids have a bad habit of using and not charging. The other thing for me is that it can be a little stiff on taking it apart or putting it together to use or store. It would be nice to maybe just have a stand that you can place this in to hold it up or somehow balanced so that you don't have to take the main unit out and place it at the base which is low. For those who might have a hard time bending over, this design isn't for you. I also do like that the attachment piece is an all in one. Overall, it does a great job. I would not mind a stand that I could place this in when not in use. maybe even a way to place it in and have it charge for you. (not a piece that I would have to screw into a wall) I recommend this if you don't mind having to bend over some when you want to store this or use it.

    Great Vacuum

I really love this Shark Detect Pro cordless vacuum. It was very easy to assemble and came package so I could quickly get it out of the box. It has a detachable hand held piece that can be removed from the stick. The vacuum had technology that can detect different dirt levels and different types of floors. I have wood and tile floors along with multiple scatter rugs with different type of textures. This nice, light weight vacuum cleaned everything very well. I hate to vacuum but with this beauty, I just kept on cleaning. In my life, I have had many different types of vacuums but this one is truly my favorite. The beater bar piece is rather padded so it was gentle on my wood floor that scratches easily. It comes with lots of instructions for cleaning the vacuum so I am not looking forward to that but apparently many parts can be removed and cleaned with plan water. The one thing that needs improvement is how to empty the dirt canister since I inadvertently dumbed the content on the floor twice. I then figured out that it was easier to remove the hand held part and hold it over the trash can. It really is a great vacuum!

This vacuum does an excellent job with dust, dirt, dog hair, crumbs and anything else small. The auto detect feature is a big plus and does very well switching modes from hardwood to carpet. The edge detect and LED light are very nice features and the battery life is comparable with other cordless vacuums lasting around 40 minutes. Only negative I noticed keeping this from a 5 star product is larger debris like pieces of sticks or pieces of plastic/paper trash do not get picked up but this vacuum is great to push around daily and keep your floors dirt, dust, and hair free

Shark makes some of the best vacuums on the market. If you have kids or pets and need a lightweight cord free option for quick messes, you'll want to check this one out. This is a solidly built and good looking vacuum. It charges quick and the battery life is on oar with similar vacuums. I love the automatic light that turns on when it detects low lighting conditions. And the automatic boost when it detects a high traffic or heavily soiled area makes this pretty intuitive to use. The no wrap vacuum or suction head does great. Several of us have longer hair and we've had issues with other vacuums that would need to be cleaned more frequently due to hair wrapping however we have not had issues to date with this vacuum. The cannister holds a lot more than I anticipated for it's size and it's super fast and easy to empty. I like the length of this vacuum and prefer using this for dusting corners or the tips of furniture as it's effective and light enough to hold upright and clean. You can't go wrong with this vacuum.

The Shark detect pro cordless stick vacuum has been a great addition to our home. we have loved having the convenience of a cordless vacuum with the Shark name. It plugs in quickly and charges fairly fast. I do not love that the vacuum will not stand on it's own while plugged in. you either need to put the top of the vacuum into the attachment on the stick, or lean it against a wall. How we have not found an alternative, I do not know. there are a couple different modes: Auto, Dirt, floor edge and light. each detection will either light up dark areas, turn on the brush roll or boosts suction. There is also an LED indicator that tells you how dirty an area is that you are cleaning. you can also switch from Auto mode to Eco or Boost modes. The actual vacuum is easy to clean, the filters come out easily. the sensor can be cleaned as well. It's really easy to clean the compartment where the dirt comes out. you don't even really need to take it off the stick if you don't want to. This is a plus for me!

**BUYER BEWARE** - PHOTOS ON PAGE ARE NOT OF ACTUA

When deciding between several vacuums, my wife and I were sold on this one based on the photos on the page above, which show the vacuum with a docking accessory that not only charges it, but empties the canister. We decided to pay the additional $40.00 for this unit because of that. However, we discovered when we received the item that it was just a vacuum with a charging cable, no dock. It appears that the photos for this item are actually for the IW3511 model, Best Buy sku 6549771, which generally costs about $70 more than this unit. I inquired with support about exchanging our unit for the lower priced unit we were comparing this to, but they told me they could only exchange for the same item and that I had to go into the store. Well, the store didn't want to exchange it either, so we're sort of stuck, as these units were on sale when we purchased and are no longer on sale. Would've liked to had the cheaper unit or the unit with the dock for the same price. Please learn from my mistake. I hope that Best Buy quickly corrects the issues with the photos for this item, so nobody else runs into the same issue.
