Not that good buy a different brand
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had nothing but problems with shark vacuums and this one is no exception. Its even worse than the previous shark vacuums I used to own. The canister has a hard time staying on when taken off, the suction doesn’t pick up much dirt, the cord constantly gets tangled or keeps coming out of the electrical outlet, and the power button is located in a really dumb place on the vacuum. Also taking the hose out and reattaching it is a nightmare and so is getting the canister off, and the cheap rollers under the vacuum can easily get ripped from what I’ve seenfirst hand with other shark vacuums of this model. It was poorly designed and it’s complete junk.

Light Compact and Versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I admit that I am not an expert on vacuum cleaners but this Shark unit seems pretty impressive to me. It is very lightweight and not too loud, the suction is good and it is full of bells and whistles. The main canister lifts off the base and you can walk around with it in one hand to take care of furniture, curtains and other cleaning tasks. It is very light yet very sturdy. It has lots of attachments to reach hard places, including a telescoping attachment that can reach all the way to my ceiling. I would point out that the width of the vacuum is smaller than other vacuums that I'm used to. It makes it lighter and easier to maneuver but it takes a little bit longer to vacuum the bigger rooms. Overall, I would recommend this product and it has been great so far.

Not a fan :/
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although this vacuum is very easy to assemble and had great potential, it could not handle the pet fur. Used it 3 times, each time it clogged and the rollers got hair tangled. Still sticking with Shark, returned this model and got the latest one.

Excellent Modular Designed Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used a major competitors brand of vacuum I was anxious to try the new Shark NV801. Given the specs are not up on the Shark website yet, I expected all the great features of the prior NV models. As expected the NV801 has great flexibility as far as the way it can be used (e.g. Traditional upright, lift away, and extended wand use). Transitioning from these different modes of use is surprisingly intuitive and can be accomplished quickly. The NV801 maintained impressive vacuum suction levels in all modes and made cleaning upholstery, blinds, etc. easy using the wand. The vacuum has a substantial, but not overburdensome, weight to it which provides stability. Cleaning of the vacuum was easy as well, with the debris bin being easy to empty with minimal mess. Overall, the NV801 is a perfect choice for those will multiple cleaning "needs" (e.g. carpet, hard wood, tile, upholstery, dusting, etc.).

Spend a little more and get the upgrade.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vacuum and it didn't come with the pet brush attachment. It broke in the first month, the roll brush kept getting stuck. I returned it and bought the shark like this one with the pet brush and it's awesome! Worth the extra$

One of the best vacuums ever
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My previous vacuum was also a Shark brand product and I liked it a lot. It was smaller than this one but packed a punch. When this one first arrived, I thought there was no way I was going to like it as much as my other Shark product. I was wrong. The Shark Lift Away was more powerful, had way more versatility and a lot more useful accessories. I can clean almost every surface with this vacuum. It's light and holds way more dust and dirt so I can go longer without emptying the canister. There are 3 flooring type options so that you can use it on: hard floors, low profile carpet, or area rugs/high profile carpets. All the parts are easy to take apart if you accidently vacuum something you shouldn't have or if you want to clean out the hose. This is a great product. No complaints. It will not disappoint.

Vacuum As Multi Tool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lately my favorite vac had been the cordless Shark Navigator; but, to get full force suction to deep clean from high pile carpets to hard floors, the corded SHARK POWERED LIFT AWAY has lots of amenities that offer a reason for having a heavier duty option around the house. And, can't beat a generous 7 year warranty! Out the box, you get the set up guide for a quick 5 step assembly. Initially, the weight of the fully assembled vac concerned me; but, I found out that you can reconfigure this vac so the canister that holds the dirt and carries the tools can be held separately from the powered brush head unit. If you are elderly or have health challenges, it’s a good idea to lift and maneuver the vac at the store to test compatibility with your limitations. The brush head offers a self-propelled assist so when you are vacuuming a deep pile carpet, resistance is minimized. Of course, you have to be vigilant about the power levels to protect fringe and scatter rugs from the powerful suction that you get when the switch is shifted into high gear. But, if you do get hair, string or fabric wrapped around the brush head, you no longer have to turn over a heavy brush head to struggle with unwinding material from the cylindrical brush. The cover pops off the top side of the ‘garage’ for quick access. Even a thread cutter is mounted inside the cover so you don’t have to run to the junk drawer for a straight edge. Like in a ‘Transformer’ movie, you can create a variety of configurations to use the tools handily attached to the unit for travel from room to room. On the low power setting, I used the small rotating brush head for window treatments, blinds and duvets that had been on my to do list for eons. You can adjust the reach of the wand to be long or short; so, high mounted curtains and rods, fans, high moldings and walls are a cinch. There are clips for cord management. The crevice tool offers the option to pull a dust brush up to its tip so you can sweep fragile objects. Can’t wait to get at those tight spots on the floor under my truck seats. As well, for my fluted and pleated fabric lamp shades whose folds I would only imagine I got clean with the feather duster, I now clean those folds and creases no longer having to lie to myself. In my book, most thrilling was a new luxury tool. Now I have a long, flat attachment allows me to vacuum under low clearance furnishings such as under the fridge and stove. I usually don’t reach those tough spots until it’s time move out or install a new floor. Now, I can be closer to my hygienic ideal by capturing crumbs and dust balls that might attract insects and rodents. The transparent canister lets me see when the unit is full of dirt. And, a press of the canister button lets me drop debris into my compost tumbler without a whiff of dust blown in my face. Access to clean the topside filters is a button pop as well. Though I would l like a lithium battery-driven version of this unit, the NV 800 Lift-Away option can give you a more thorough cleaning experience until R+D can satisfy the cordless wish. Unlike the cordless Shark Navigator, you are not interrupted by having to recharge a dead battery. So, if you’re always time challenged to get all rooms clean before receiving guests, with the LIFT-AWAY, you don’t have to worry that you only have 20 to 30 min to do the job before a recharge is required. But, if you have the resources, the transforming convenience of both is especially smart if you are multi-tasking between several floors. I don’t need it right now; but, a rolling caddy for the canister is available as a separate purchase that allows the motor to be pulled along behind the stick with the powered head. I will revisit additional accessories in the future.. At my age, I have a long view as a basis for comparison. With the LIFT AWAY, what I got 'power and option-wise' is far more than what I got for a high end vac at $700 which was huge suction but far too heavy to lug up and down stairs. The SHARK POWERED LIFT AWAY cost sits between the cordless and my expensive ‘medicine ball’; but, the variety of cleaning solutions in a tight break away package for hitting the stairs to high places is at the right the price point for the value.

Good, not great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this and recently used it for the first time while rearranging my master bedroom. I have hardwood floors, so I had TONS of dust underneath the bed, dressers, etc...The second roller really does help pick everything up, it didn't really leave anything behind. PROS: lightweight, east to maneuver around and it turns on a dime, several attachments, lots of different ways to use this vacuum... upright, detached, wand, attachments... CONS: Honestly it feels kind of cheap, no button or latch to tap with your toe or to pull the vac down from upright position, you have to put your foot onto the vacuum and pull back, into the tilted, ready to use position, the vacuum tube "holder" that clips on the the back keeps coming undone, attachments are difficult to attach/detach. Its still a good vacuum, still works great, just some minor changes.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first got it it was great. Within a month is when the problems started. I ended up buying a new vacuum. I do have a long haired dog, maybe that was the problem...

Just Ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not a product i would recommend. I had a previous shark vac and loved it. It just quit working and took it back to Best Buy, the were great replaced it with a new one. I picked the most expensive one they had. I learned later that the new one no longer has the power button on the handle, the waste basket is in my opinion to small, finally the vacuum port is to small to accept a standard vacuum hose.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Filter had to be changed after 3 weeks. It's. Heavy and you get too much swivel action. Picks up very well though. I should spent the xtra $300 for a dyson

Great Shark Product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve always felt Shark products are hit or miss depending on the price range. This one is a hit for the most part . It is not heavy but built more heavy duty than some of the other Shark models I have used. It has all the features your would expect and some that are nice for models in this price range. I think it is a great value - Pro’s Decent power for the price. Maneuverable. Canister comes off and head goes flat to fit under tight spaces. Lights Great on carpets. Con’s A little loud. Seemed to miss small, hard particles on floor. For almost half the price of a Dyson, this is a very capable vacuum. The removeable canister vac is super handy and worth looking at for that feature alone. I recommend to give this a try.

Powerful and Versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get right to it. The Shark Powered Lift-Away with DuoClean is powerful. Very powerful. And all its workings, inside and out, combine to create a versatile, high-performance machine that I love using, especially with pets. I'm no expert with vacuum cleaners, and I'd say in the last ten years that I've used a total of four or five different ones. I couldn't tell you what they were, but they were bagless, which I believe to be today's standard. What I can say is that this vacuum, without a doubt, blows the others out of the water. I've never been so satisfied with the performance of a vacuum cleaner once I'm finished cleaning. While I waited to receive the product, the carpeted floors were vacuumed once with what I had before this one. Two days later, I received the Shark vacuum and put it to the test immediately, and the results were really something. In fact, I used it again the next day and was still pulling out dirt and hair that the former machine failed to get out. The carpet looks great after vacuuming. Even the air feels cleaner. What's great about this Shark vacuum is its ability to go anywhere. It's highly versatile and has all sorts of ways to reach what you need to, whether it's under the sofa or table, or in tight spaces, thanks to its lift-away feature and multiple included accessories. The head is relatively small and swivels and fits wherever you need it to. The handle is detachable for proximity cleaning. You can remove the wand for even more reach, whether its tight areas or hard-to-reach places, including ceiling fans. And you can attach accessories to either of these, allowing you to adapt it to any cleaning work that needs done. Then with the lift-away, you an take the vacuum underneath any furniture that sits at least approximately four inches off the ground. Even better, all of these reattach with extreme ease; there is no difficulty whatsoever here. When you're finished, remove the canister and press a button (and all of these features I've mentioned have buttons) on the front to open the door on the bottom. I like that I can keep the mess contained and not have to fumble with any of it. One last neat feature is the fact that this has headlights, something I thought was a thing of the past. There wasn't really anything to dislike about this vacuum—it's not too loud, it's very powerful, and reaches practically anywhere with its low-profile head and multiple included accessories, not to mention the lift-away. The only fault I'd give the vacuum if I had to is that it's a bit heavy despite its size. All of its usefulness and versatility, however, make this one con totally excusable. I'd highly recommend this vacuum to anyone who requires power, has pets (or not), and has nooks and crannies, big and small, throughout their living space.

This vacuum sucks...and not the way it should.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum lasted us just over a year. Hair gets wrapped around the brush too easily. Not sure if it was related to the hair or not but the side of the brush roller wore a hole in the side of the assembly and the belt would wear against its channel and break.

One of the best Shark's I've had
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All my vacuum cleaners I've owned over the last 5 years have been sharks, and this one is just as good as the rest. This vacuum has great suction, great maneuverability, easy to maintain. I have hard wood floors and carpet in the bedroom, and the duo clean technology on this vacuum makes cleaning the hard wood floors with easy, picking up bits of dust and debris on the roller, and then providing great suction on carpet and rugs alike. The attachments make cleaning tight crevices and vents easy, especially with the lift away technology making it easy to walk around the house cleaning and dusting. The lift away technology also makes it easy to reach under couches, beds, chairs, etc. I do wish the vacuum were a bit lighter, even when using the lift-away portion, it can be tiring to hold it while trying to reach high ceiling fans and vents. The fatigue sets in after a few minutes. All in all, this is a great vacuum for a great price and is comparable to a Dyson in terms of functionality and suction power at a fraction of the cost. I have always used Shark products, and will continue to do so with the addition of this vacuum.
