Compact, versatile and easy to use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the design of this vacuum cleaner. It can be either an upright or a canister type, and it switches easily between the two. The narrower sweeper head fits into a lot of places that larger vacuums don't, like between chair legs. I was surprised that vacuuming a room didn't take any longer than the old vacuum with a large head. The canister is light and easy to carry, I found myself separating the two to go under the sofa, then just leaving it that way. The cord is really long, which is a real plus. There are a lot of attachments, including an 'under appliance' wand that worked well under the refrigerator. The sweeper head can be removed for a long wand (good for ceiling cobwebs) or the handle can be removed for a shorter one. As a vacuum, it did a really good job on tile, hardwood floors, and rugs, and it was nice having the floor type switch up on the handle. The amount of dirt and fur (we have two dogs) it picked up was truly amazing (and a little disgusting). The edge cleaners are on either side of the head and did a great job in the hallways and in corners. One really nice thing, the Shark does a very good job of filtering, there was none of that vacuum smell or dust while I was using it.

Less than a year and already failing
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this vacuum as an alternative to the Dyson we've had for years. For the most part it had great reviews. At first we really like it, even bought two for Christmas gifts this past year. Now regretting that decision. Called Shark, the customer service rep barely had a pulse, told us he thinks it could be the motor, could send us a new one (we have to cover the hefty $$ shipping cost and figure out how to install) and that was the only option. Not impressed. Never had this problem with our Dyson and their customer service was 10x better. Really disappointed. Would not recommend Shark products or customer service after this experience.

Powerful Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I want to say this is the first full size bagless vacuum I have owned, so I don't have any others to compare it to. That being said, on the first use, I can tell this picked up more out of my carpet than my old high quality bag vacuum. I cannot believe all of the dirt and dust that came up. I could have made a dog hair sweater with all of the hair. I also used the attachment for hardwood floors and this picked up the surface dust very well without scattering stuff around like some upright vacuums. Overall, it a great vacuum. It does have a lot of ways to use it. You will need to familiarize yourself with the quick start guide at least to know all of the ways to use the vacuum for different purposes. The canister is very easy to dump in the trash with no mess and it comes with a bag to hold the attachments, which is handy. I would say it was worth the money. My only disappointment was that the attachment to make it a rollaround canister vacuum is extra. The way it comes is that you detach and carry the canister. Not a big deal, but if you have a lot of tile or hardwood I think the extra attachment would be worth it.

Really maneuverable, strong little vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the most maneuverable vacuum I've ever used. The handle can almost lie flat on the ground to get under some furniture, or the motor pops off and then it can get under pretty much everything else. Pros: Strong suction The switch to change floor type is right under your thumb on the handle The vacuum head swivels almost 180 degrees Easy to see if it's time to empty the dirt bin Easy-access hose extension Turbine accessory spins really fast and is great on somewhat firm cushions Does great on hard floors Cons: The front roller will suck in ANYTHING loose on the ground without hesitation (cords, long curtains, clothing) Two of the really unique accessories it comes with does not have a place to keep them on the vacuum itself, so if you want to use them you have to get them out of the accessory bag The foam filter after dust bin gets dirty real quickly, which makes me think the vacuum isn't the most effective at filtering out the tiniest dust and pollen particles

Powerful Vacuum Cleaner
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Powered Lift-Away Speed with DuoClean felt light but yet was very powerful and did a wonderful job vacuuming. Although I have always though my old vacuum cleaner does an admirable job in vacuuming my rugs, the Shark Powered Lift-Away impressed me when I was able to pick up more fine particle dust after having already vacuumed the rugs with my old vacuum. I especially like how easy it was to switch from rug to hardwood floor with a simple push of a switch on the handle. And being able to detach the canister so that I can easily vacuum under my sofa was a big plus. The only downside was that this specific model did not have a caddy for the canister so that you have to carry it around when detached.

So much power, very versatile, and so easy to use!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum was easy to assemble and took about a minute or 2 with no tools required. It came with some awesome attachments (more about that later) and a very nice bag to store them in. The first time I used it, I wanted to try to vacuum up some tiny beads that had become lost in my carpet and since I had vacuumed the carpet very recently, I was hoping to vacuum up the beads without getting too much dirt that I would have to search through. Well, I did get the beads, but also quite a bit of dirt that my previous vacuum had not been powerful enough to pull out of the carpet. Performance: I am very happy with how well this vacuum performs. It really does a wonderful job in picking up the dirt. It out-performed every other vacuum that I've ever had. It is extremely maneuverable and swivels easily around tight places. I can see when the dust container needs to be emptied and it is easy to empty. I can see as I vacuum that the brush rollers are moving because there is a green light. The attachments work very well and are easily attached and removed as needed. Features: I love that the vacuum has 3 settings for hard floor, low pile carpet, or thick carpet. I tried them all and was very happy with all three. I also love how well it swivels and the width of the vacuum makes it easy for me to get in places where I couldn't get before. The Lift-Away feature is great. In fact, you have some options with that feature. With just a push of the "Lift Away" button, you can remove the canister (which they call a "vacuum pod"). Then use the "Wand Release" button or the "Handle Release" button to remove either the entire length of the wand or just the handle (which has a short wand), depending on which you prefer to use. You can also add any of the attachments to the long wand or shorter handle. There are 2 different buttons to push to release the handle. One releases the short handle and the other releases the full length of the handle. They are both easy to use. I had no problem pushing the buttons and releasing the handles. Then they click back into place when you replace them, so you know they are attached correctly. You can also release the handle, add an attachment, and use it without using the Lift-Away feature which is a bit faster for when you need to use a tool quickly and get right back to vacuuming with the entire unit. Underneath, the vacuum comes with a soft roller as well as a brush roll and they are both easy to remove if you need to remove string or hair that has become wrapped around the roller. The attachments that I received are: (1) an Under Appliance Wand which is long and flat and can be used to vacuum under the refrigerator or can reach under low furniture (it can be used "as is" to clean the floor under your appliance or its extension piece can be removed and flipped over to clean the underside of appliances), (2) a Duster Crevice Tool that has a brush attachment that can be slid into place when needed or moved out of the way when you only want to use the crevice tool, (3) a Pet Multi-Tool which has a stiff bristle brush that can be removed to reveal an upholstery tool (so you can use the brush to loosen stuck-on debris or use the upholstery surface for cleaning pet hair (or other debris) from your sofa or chair), and (4) a Pet Power Brush which can be used on the stairs or upholstery. You don't need a pet to appreciate how convenient this tool is. There are 2 places on the vacuum cleaner for storing 2 of the attachment tools. Other tools and accessories can also be bought (motorized brush, dusting brush, caddy, long crevice tool) but I was pleasantly pleased at the ones that came with the vacuum. The dust container can be removed easily using a single button and carried to the trash to empty. To empty it, just push one or both of the 2 buttons that open the top and bottom of the canister. The filters are located under the dust container and are easy to access and remove. The manual suggests rinsing them thoroughly every 3 months. Let them air dry completely before replacing. The unit comes with both an Owner's Guide and a Quick Start Guide.

Very lightweight and can use as a canister style
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DuoClean really gets down to the nitty gritty dirt. Very good suction in this little light machine. It seems as if it is self propelled when using it. You can literally just use one finger and it seems to pull itself along and takes off very slowly by itself because of the power of the attachment. You can use it like a canister to get under chairs, couches, etc by lifting away the lightweight motor from the shaft and get all the way under most anything.a few inches high which I LOVE. Guess my canister vacuum won't be getting much use anymore.

Very nice to own
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great vacuum and I've only used it 3 times before writing this review. I am comparing this vacuum to my 8 year old Dyson and Shark has risen the bar. I like the attachments and how I can detach the entire vacuum body and walk it with me instead of rolling it around. I also like the LED lights on the vacuum head. The only thing I would change is that I wished the dirt collector compartment was larger for longer cleaning. The best thing about this vacuum is how you can easily take it apart to clean the entire vacuum. I recommend this vacuum if your budget is around $300.

Its fine, but...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice multi-floor upright vacuum. Detachable unit for vacuuming things other than floors. Love the bagless feature. The attachments are what you would expect and all work fine. Suction is superior to a Bag canister vacuum. Only two negatives are that the unit is heavy which isn't a big deal when vacuuming floors, but is when using the unit detached. The other is that the floor suction head is not as wide as many other vacuums I've used. Still not a deal breaker.

Great, lightweight vacuum!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The suction paired with extreme versatility of this vacuum cleaner is amazing! Cleans pet hair from furniture with ease, especially with the under-couch attachment to get under furniture without having to move it! The liftaway portion makes cleaning stairs easier and more comfortable. Very quiet and convenient, small enough to store easily too!

Great Vacuum for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did my research when looking for a Vacuum. This vac has a ton of great flexibility with how you can use the lift away feature. Makes stairs and under furniture really easy. Very easy to manipulate across carpet, not heavy at all. Also comes with a lot of great accessories. Only 2 negatives, which others have mentioned, is that the capacity is not that large so you need to empty it more frequently and that it does not have a retractable power cord. For a $300 Vac I would have hoped it had a retractable cord, but probably couldnt to maintain its flexible design.

LOVE IT!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really Love this vacuum! First of all, all the attachment you are given are amazing and I have used every single one!. The wand to go under couches is just so awesome! I have a beagle/shepherd mix dog and he sheds a lot so I needed something that can really grab all of his hair on the carpet and this really does the job! The ONLY problem is that it doesn't hold a lot but I don't care that I have to empty it several times while cleaning because this vacuum gets the job done right! I seriously could not be any happier with my purchase!

Good vacuum for those hard to reach areas
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This shark vacuum has all the settings for those hard to reach areas, also you can use it on hard floors besides carpet. The duo brushroll clean your carpet deeper, good for those dog owners like me that needs to clean some of the dog hair from my carpets. It comes with different accessories that you can use for dusting and cleaning your couch, etc. For me the lights in front of the vacuum was helpful to see under the furniture, also the anti allergen seal helps to avoid all that dost that sometimes other vacuums left behind. It was easy to set up and start working on my floors but after a while my arm was a little tired, even though it says that is 20% lighter weight that other brand , for me was a little heavy if you use the vacuum for big areas like my living room, other than that is a great vacuum specially if you use it on the Lift- away mode.

Powerful and versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one powerful device. It's pretty much everything you could want in a vacuum cleaner. It's light, has the suction to make small cats disappear, and has plenty of attachments to get the job done. It's similar in appearance and function to Shark's Rotator Lift-Away, our previous vacuum, but in a smaller package. It seems just as powerful, too. Its claim to fame is dual brush rolls. I guess the theory is that if the first roll misses anything, the second roll is there to get it. And it works. We've used it on carpet, hardwood, and tile floors and it performs equally well on all surfaces. Just make sure to change the thumb switch to the type of floor you’re are cleaning. Setting it to "Carpet" increases the speed of the brush rolls for better cleaning. It comes with 3 attachments: 1) A handy wand for cleaning under appliances. If you've ever rolled your refrigerator out of its normal spot, you know why this is a good tool to have. I've also found it handy for cleaning the hard to get to filters on my refrigerator. 2) A handheld brush attachment. 3) A handheld roller attachment with is labeled "Hard surfaces". I guess it's for cleaning up smaller messes on counters, tables, etc. I would think it would also be effective for getting pet fur off furniture. In addition to the included attachments, Shark offers additional tools on their website. Lastly, when you need more portability, just "lift-away" the main unit from the base and go to town. It makes it very convenient for cleaning cobwebs from corners, getting dust off of blinds, or even vacuuming out the car. It also allows you to get underneath tables and couches. It's a quick and easy process and gives you no excuse for having dust bunnies underneath things. This is a great vacuum cleaner, and while you can buy cheaper ones, you won't get the same versatility, power, and ease of use Shark offers in the Lift-Away Speed. Happy cleaning!

Amazing vacuum!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this vacuum! The last one I had was cheap and just sprayed dirt everywhere. So I was really looking forward to this one. I spent a lot of time reading reviews and looking at a lot of different machines so I felt pretty good about purchasing this one. I am thrilled I chose this one! I have a house with about 1/3 hard floors and 2/3 carpeting, and with a flip of a switch right on the handle, you can adjust as you go to a different surface. I love all the ways you can reassemble the machine with 2 different handles, the lift-away tank, 5 different attachments (2 of them are 2-in-1 and fit on the vacuum for storage). All the different ways of changing the machine around are so easy to click right into place and push a button to release! You can vacuum under furniture with ease and also the stairs with the lift away feature. You can use different handles and attachments, just play around until you find the right combo for each job. This is very easy to clean around furniture with the swivel feature, light weight too so it's not hard for me to move it around. I just love this vacuum, can you tell?! The only thing that would make this better is if it had a bigger compartment for the dirt, it's just a narrow area in the canister, but I don't mind emptying it often because that is easy to do too. This is my first Shark item I have purchased and I'm very happy!

Almost there
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Usage: We have a 3200sqft home with hardwood throughout the lower level and mid-pile carpet on the stairs and the upper level. This Shark handled the entire house handily and was easy to use on the stairs. No pets. Overall impression: The suction power was quite good. Edge to edge cleaning the most impressive thing about it. Pros: TRUE edge-to-edge cleaning. We can run this alongside our baseboards and it sucks up everything near it. Was a very welcome surprise as all too often vacuums fall short in this area and you're left going to the detachables every time. We don't have to do this with the Shark. Being able to detach the main vacuum for ease of transport up stairs is also a blessing and makes for easy cleaning of the steps. It also comes with a plethora of attachments, some we weren't even sure what they were or how to use them and had to open the instruction manual ;) It turns much like the Dyson Ball, no "back and forth" motion needed to start the vacuum in a new direction. It's quite refreshing to be able to adjust the height of the vacuum from the top of the handle where your hand sits. Makes it easy to always ensure you're at the right height instead of not being low enough for bare floors and beating the heck out of your higher pile carpets. Cons: Both my wife and I expressed some fatigue to our wrists after vacuuming; it does require some effort to make the thing turn like you want it to. The head of the vacuum is a good 30% smaller than our current Dust Devil, means you don't cover as wide of a path as you would otherwise. The hose connector on the back of the vacuum doesn't stay attached well, resulting in the hose flopping around the whole time you're vacuuming. Our current vacuum ($90) has an auto-retract cord. For $200+ this should as well. Even on the tallest setting, it would still suck up the edge of our rugs and caught us offguard sometimes. A testament to its suction, but on the tallest setting I'd expect this to be a bit more forgiving. No storage for *all* the detachables. Instead you are left storing a few of them in a bag. I'd like to be able to power the thing on/off w/ my foot or a button near the hand grip, not have to bend over and hit a button on the top of the canister area. The canister isn't as big as you think; you think you've sucked up a TON of stuff, the you go to empty it and realize it's about 1/3 the size of a typical "wind tunnel" vacuum canister.
