Battery has gone bad. Did not make it even 4 months. Started falling about a month ago. The vacuum will only charger to 70% and it actually isn’t even that. It will only run for about 5 minutes before it abruptly stops in the middle of the floor. It does not power back on once it does that. When I put it on the dock, it begins charging like it was completely dead and the app reads 10%.

Cleans descent but disappointed in Shark Corp. This unit originally mapped the house after cleaning, THEN the app updated (iOS 4.0.3) and now it doesn’t create a map for where it cleaned. Talked to customer support and they told me this EZ unit doesn’t create a map. I know it does because it worked fine for several months before app update. Would not buy this unit again.

We bought this vacuum trusting it to be a Shark product, but honestly it was a big disappointment. There are other similar products on the market with better price and quality. The cleaning is mediocre and I have never seen an automatic vacuum cleaner that hit so many times on the same object. Part of our Christmas tree decoration has broken because it didn't avoiding it. Truly very disappointed.

Another great Shark vacuum held back by the App

I really want to love this Shark vacuum but the programming problems are just annoying enough to make me question. I finally have the vacuum working well in the house. It has been several weeks now but it's learning the floorplan and cleaning well. It started on a bad foot with taking over a week and about 20 times trying to connect the robot to WiFi and the app on my phone. I updated the app several times over that week hoping it would fix it. I don't know if it was an app update or just dumb luck that it connected finally but nothing else changed. After it connected it has worked pretty well. There are settings that you can adjust. Our first floor is about 1100 sq ft. For that amount of space it seems best not to have recharge & continue turned on. If it's on it seems to go back to the dock with about 30% battery and recharge for several hours, when if it's off it seems to finish fine with that final 30%. It also has an option to empty the robot every half hour. That works well if the floors are really dirty or the vacuum is located in the middle of the floorplan. Mine is on the end of the house so it takes time and battery to go back and forth. The self-emptying is a great feature. It works great and makes it so much easier to maintain. The scheduling is convenient and makes cleaning easy, as well as the quiet times that lock the robot out from making noise. For the downsides: - The robot took forever to connect to the app and wifi. It was very annoying to have to try so many times and have it think for 5 minutes only to say there was a problem, reset everything and try again. - The app still loses connection to the robot every so often and doesn't show the correct information. It will show the robot as cleaning while it's been sitting on the dock for days, so you have to cancel the cleaning before you can tell it to start cleaning. (All of this is while the robot is within 20' of the router so it's not a weak signal.) - Hopefully it's still learning but it has gotten stuck a couple times on an awkward transition between carpet and hardwood with a furniture leg close. It tries to go to far and can't get back up on the carpet, but hopefully it will continue to learn and avoid that. Overall the robot hardware works well. It cleans well, picks up everything I would expect it to. It cleans with a good pattern so it gets everything in the room. The programming on the app is lacking and hopefully they will continue to fine tune and fix the disconnecting problems and this would be a great robot.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review on the Shark EZ Robot vacuum. We are happy to hear the robot is set-up however regret that the initial process was not as expected.
Your robot may experience weaker connectivity if the Wi-Fi signal is not as strong in certain areas of your home or the robot may have entered a zone that blocks Wi-Fi. It is normal for your robot to temporarily lose connectivity but it will automatically reconnect to the Wi-Fi network when the signal is in range. If the issue continues we would be happy to assist you, our Robot Specialists are available at 1-888-228-5531 Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm EST, as well as Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST.

Right out of the gate, the Shark EZ robot was a disappointment; it wouldn't connect to WiFi for the app functionality (cleaning schedule, home mapping, etc.) Shark's customer and technical support was first unresponsive and then utterly unhelpful. I wasn't even able to get the thing set up, let alone use it, so I ultimately returned it.

This thing is a relatively compact solution for a house with 2 dogs, two cats and a lot of in-and-out. THE GOOD ~Easy setup ~ Self-cleaning ~ Methodical ~ quiet THE BAD ~ A little slow ~ Loud when self-cleaning ~ Not a terribly long battery life THE MEH (could go either way) ~The app for your phone OVERALL Overall, I am enjoying this little vacuum. As I noted above, we have a bunch of critters in the house that like to shed. This thing does a fairly decent job keeping the floors clean. It moves very slow--much slower than another one of a name brand I have). Despite being slow, it seems to be very methodical (moreso than the other). It usually comes out, picks a starting point and then moves forward and back much like a person mowing a lawn...One row at a time. When the bin is full, it drives back to the base station to self clean. This is when it is most noisy. A large whir of air sucks all the trash from the vacuum into a holding bin and then sends the vacuum back out into the wild tundra of my house. There is a rotating brush on either side of the vacuum that slowly spin, sweeping debris toward its center. It reminds me of a big bug. Consequently, I've named this one Beetlejuice. My wife named the other one we have Agador Spartacus. The first time I dumped the base collection bin, I was very surprised at how much stuff was in there. To be honest, It isn't perfect in the corners, but to keep the floors relatively picked up during the day or week, this thing is great. I can turn it on, leave the house and come back to clean floors. The battery life isn't what I expected. I usually get right at 2 hours of clean time with a full battery. I don't know if that is average, great or awful. I think my other one lasts longer. But not comparing the two, I would prefer to have a battery last at least 3-4 hours. As slow as this thing moves, 2 hours isn't enough to fully clean my little house. My mama is a clean freak. If she were thinking about buying one of these and asked, I'd have no qualms recommending it. But I would let her know she would probably have to section off rooms and doo 1 or 2 rooms per charge. (Her house is bigger than mine).
