Good for people with little hair

Weird Cord
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The issues I had are similar to other reviews that I have seen. The cord on this hair dryer is equivalent to a vacuum cleaner cord. It is so big and bulky that I spent more time fighting with it than actually drying my hair. It does dry fast but the cord battle was not worth it for me.

A Fast Dryer That's Worth The Weight
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark FlexStyle is a well-made, sleek-looking hairdryer that dries hair quickly. We needed a second hairdryer for traveling. I knew I wanted a Shark because we purchased a Shark hairdryer last year and liked it. The shape of the FlexStyle caught my eye because you can position the hairdryer in wand mode (straight) for packing between stacks of clothing in a suitcase. It has three temperature and airflow settings. The lowest settings of both produce enough airflow and warmth to quickly dry and style my hair. The attachments packaged with the FlexStyle are well-suited for long, fine hair, and they are easy to attach and remove. At first, I was a little concerned that the oval brush attachment might pull or tangle my hair, but it is surprisingly gentle. Using the curling attachments, you really can produce soft, beachy waves. The instructions include QR codes that link to how-to videos that can help you get started. For me, the FlexStyle does have a few minor cons. It’s a little heavier than I expected, and its sturdy cord adds to its weight. Because the air intake is on the handle, I have caught myself putting my hand over it. The medium and high air speeds produce a high-pitched sound that frightens my cats. Overall, The Shark FlexStyle is a quality hairdryer that comes with useful attachments.

A great multipurpose tool for hair
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this Shark FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System to try out primarily to get back into curling my hair again. For years I relied on curling my hair with a straightener and it worked out well for me, but when I saw this hairdryer and curler combo I thought I'd give it a try. I love other my other Shark products so I had high hopes for this product and overall I was not disappointed! I have finer hair so it doesn't take a long to dry, but using this dryer I swear just makes my hair feel better. It's way less frizzy and the heat doesn't feel like it's nearly as damaging. It gave my hair more volume too. I like the options for heat and airflow, and the option for a cool shot. The dryer is so easy to use with the 90 degree pivot. I didn't feel myself waving my arms around as much to get my whole head dry. The brush attachment is easy to attach and use. I've never used an attachment like it before so it took me a few tries to use it properly and effectively. On to the curling, I love that there are left and right side curlers. That was always my biggest struggle when trying to do my hair. Using the curlers is a bit of a learning curve on my end. I haven't gotten the results I wanted yet. The curls don't look as curly as I'd like but or hold that well but I think it's user error more than the tool itself. It's fun to trial out. Overall I think this is a great product and a powerful styling tool with its multi capability for an easier time doing my hair!

Styles and Dries Quickly
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve used the Shark FlexStyle for 2 weeks—quick drying time and adds real volume for thinning hair. Faster than my old dryer because the brushing and drying happens at the same time. INSTALL/SETUP Basically none—plug in, pick your attachment, go. Swapping combs/heads is the only “setup.” The only learning curve is the grip: you’re brushing and drying, but it doesn’t move exactly like a normal brush, so it takes a session or two to get the angle right. BUILD/FEEL Feels solid—even though the casing is plastic, there’s no flex or rattle. Attachments are a bit bulky, but they click in/out easily. Noise is pretty average (a touch quieter than my last dryer) and the overall setup feels compact but just as effective. FEATURES/FUNCTIONS DRYING SPEED — From towel-damp to styled in under 5 minutes—low effort, low fuss. VOLUME/SHAPE — The brush + airflow combo lifts at the roots and keeps shape without frying ends—nice boost for thinning hair. COMFORT/HEAT — The low-heat approach is the win here: dries fast without that “hot spot” burn. I don’t feel like I’m cooking my hair anymore. DOWNSIDE/WISH I wish the handle had a slight ergonomic curve—the straight, thicker grip works, but a softer contour would make handling easier. OVERALL A quick, easy multi-styler that dries fast and adds real volume—does what it should with less heat and less hassle.

Simple enough that even I can use it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's somewhat odd how the Shark hair dryers can look more like a lightsaber than the typical bathroom appliance I grew up with, and yet still somehow make more intuitive sense to me than any other hair styling tools I've tried. I've had many SharkNinja products over the years and found them to occupy an interesting middle ground between meme-worthy fluff and solid engineering. The FlexStyle stands apart in leaning a bit more towards the latter than the former. Rather than including every possible tool and option you might need they opt for an almost minimalist loadout of a hairdryer, oval brush, and curling set. More accessories are available if you want them, of course, but for most I imagine this will be more than enough. All three do their jobs very well and, thanks to the power of the hair dryer, very quickly. And unlike the last hairdryer I had, I didn't actually need to consult any guides on how to work them either. Everything from the settings to the behavior of the different attachments is intuitive enough to get good results with maybe five minutes of study, specifically on which parts of the tools are actually safe to touch when you're using them, and it does a great job of drying even thick hair without risking heat damage.

A Versatile Everyday Styling Upgrade
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright: this review is actually from my wife as she is the one who ended up using the product (as expected). My oldest daughter was a guinea-pig as well, in a good way. My wife's review: I am very excited about the Shark Flexstyle, which is probably a little more expensive than some of the other options on the market. Having said that, when it comes to keeping my hair healthy despite high-heat treatment and styling, I will probably trust only a brand like Shark. The product is marketed as a multi-functional hair styling tool that may be used for drying, smoothing, curling, volumizing, and frizz control. So, instead of multiple tools for drying and styling for families with multiple females (or males with long hair), this tool promises to offer a one-machine solution for all needs. Ambitious? Yes. Does it deliver the promise in terms of its design, performance, and versatility? I would actually agree: yes. This is a great tool for everyday use. Design The Flexstyle is sleek and sturdy. I like the fact that the Flexstyle is slim and can easily fit in my palm. For someone using a dryer/styler for the first time, the thoughtfully engineered rotating top might come with a learning curve. The button that engages the rotating motion is not very intuitive at first. But it is pretty simple once you know how to turn the dryer into a styler. The device has a solid, premium feel without being excessively heavy. As someone with carpal tunnel issues, the act of twisting styling rods often gives me wrist fatigue. I have long hair and need to take breaks while styling with heavier tools. One of the smartest and most practical design elements is its interchangeable attachment system. The attachments click on securely and are easy to swap mid-style, allowing users to move seamlessly from drying to smoothing or curling. Although there are multiple pieces, they are light and sleek enough for travel. I would recommend adding a little string bag for travel. Performance The tool claims to use air pressure rather than extreme heat to shape hair. This is a big draw for me since I would like my young daughter to be able to use the tool without me worrying about long-term damage to her hair. By relying more on airflow than direct heat, the tool reduces the risk of heat damage, making it suitable for frequent use. Traditional flat irons or curling wands can be really damaging to the hair and often leave hair dry. This tool has three levels of options for both heat and air-pressure intensity. Although I did notice some steam from my hair while styling with the hottest option, the tool never seemed to get too hot. This temperature regulation and maintenance give me the confidence to use it regularly without fearing hair dryness. The blow dryer can be used in the traditional method: simply letting hot air dry your hair. That is probably how my husband is likely to use this tool. My favorite is the smoothing brush attachment, which is especially effective and creates a polished, blowout-style finish without me having to go through the process of drying and combing separately every day. This is an extremely effective and efficient way to go about looking awesome every day. The curling attachments produce soft, natural-looking waves rather than tight curls. The tool gave me an effortless look, but the curls were not really long-lasting. I will probably need to look into the option of spraying my hair with something to give more lasting salon-styled curls. For more well-defined curls fit for a wedding reception, I would probably get professional help. Girls in my family have long wavy or straight hair. The Flexstyle succeeded in giving sweet soft curls and volume to our hair. However, I am not sure how it will be for people with very curly hair. For people with coarse hair, it will probably need a few more goes with the stylers. Another feature worth appreciating is how surprisingly quiet the Flexstyle is compared to many traditional dryers and stylers. The lower noise level makes the whole routine feel calmer, especially during early mornings when you don’t want to wake the whole house. Hair-drying would probably be less traumatic for little children if this tool is used. Ease of Use While the Flexstyle is designed to simplify hair styling, it does come with a learning curve. I am still in the process of understanding which attachments work best for my hair type. The video that can be accessed by scanning the QR code describes how to use the dryer and curling attachments. However, some how-to videos on different kinds of styling and tutorials would have been really cool. The instructions provided are functional but not especially detailed. With more familiarity, it will probably become more intuitive. It is, however, a big help that styling and drying are now a one-step process. I mentioned above that the fact that I do not have to twist my wrist to style is quite a game changer for me and my carpal tunnel. The tool decides the thickness of the strand that should be curled for optimal effect. However, this process has a learning curve. Once the user develops the idea of how to feed hair over the rod, it gets easier. Value and Pricing Priced at the higher end of the consumer hair-tool market, the Flexstyle is not a cheap tool. That said, it replaces the need for multiple tools and frees up space in your drawer. For users who regularly use a blow dryer, round brush, curling iron, and smoothing brush, the cost may be justified. Final Verdict The Flexstyle is a sleek, cool-looking, lightweight styling tool that delivers on many of its promises. It excels in convenience, versatility, and hair health. Since it does not use high heat, the curls are softer than what a high-heat rod could give you. This is a great solution for your everyday styling. Once you have mastered the process by practicing a few times, the result will be pretty satisfactory.

So far it works…so-so
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hair dryer itself works really well. It’s a nice smaller size and easy to handle. It has a sleek design as well. The adjustment from blow dryer to curler is very smooth and easy. The curler itself takes some practice as I found the mechanics a bit strange at first but it gets easier with more practice. It’s not always so easy to get it to grab your hair properly. I was hoping the curling feature would be a little bit easier. I found it difficult to do the hair in the back of my head as it was a struggle to figure out how to hold it, in order for hair to get picked up. This could get easier with more practice. The curl works but does not seem to last long in my hair. It’s possible it could work better for denser or thicker hair. My hair is very straight and fine. However, I am hoping with a lot more practice, I’ll get better at it and the curls will last longer. So far I tried the curler twice and have received so-so results. The Oval brush attachment works well and is easy to use. It helps add volume to your hair, while being able to style your hair at the same time.

Great multi-styler that beats the competition
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After comparing the Shark FlexStyle to the leading competitors and several budget knockoffs, I finally chose this air styling & drying system in Indigo Rush for my daughter, and I’m really glad I did. Why I picked this over other options: Price-to-performance was the biggest deciding factor. The Dyson Airwrap is almost double the price, and this one delivers significantly better performance for my daughters needs. The Shark offers the same style curling, fast drying, and multiple attachments at a more reasonable price, which made it a no-brainer. No heat-damage design was important to me. Shark’s temperature regulation is excellent and consistent. The Indigo Rush color is my daughters favorite and looks fresh and premium compared to the usual silver, rose gold, and black stylers. The main body is thin, lightweight, and surprisingly ergonomic, making it easy for younger users or anyone with smaller hands. The extra length actually helps when reaching the back of the head and gives better control during styling. Attachments fit with a secure click and remove easily using the release switch. Value for Money: This is easily one of the best-value multi-stylers available. You get a powerful hair dryer, curlers, a volumizing brush, and multi-styling capability all in one device. Plus, there are plenty of third-party accessories exist if you want to expand (diffusers, concentrators, cases, etc.). Build Quality & Design: The body feels sturdy yet light and has powerful motor, but surprisingly quiet for the airflow it delivers. Long power cord with a swivel base reduces tangling. “Cool nubs” on attachments make handling safer, even when hot. The twist-to-change mode (hair dryer to wand) is smooth and convenient. Ease of Use & Installation: Takes less than a minute to set up , just plug in, attach the head, and you’re ready. Switching attachments is simple and intuitive. Heat and airflow settings are easy to locate by feel after a few uses. The tool heats up fast and dries extremely quickly. It’s also compact enough for travel, though a case would have made this even easier. Performance (Drying & Styling): Drying Very fast drying power , noticeably faster than a standard blow dryer. Heat stays controlled, doesn’t spike, and avoids that “scorching” feeling. Hair feels soft, smooth, and not fried afterward. Curling Works best when hair is almost dry (~90%). Creates soft, natural, long-lasting waves(not tight curls). Cool Shot helps set curls but requires a bit of finger work to reach the button. The attachments get hot, so you either wait a few minutes to swap them or use a silicone mat/glove. Brush Attachment Excellent for smoothing, reducing frizz, and adding volume. Pros Lightweight and easy to hold Fast, powerful drying Beautiful Indigo Rush color Safer for younger users or beginners Very quiet for the airflow Long, swivel friendly cord Multipurpose — dries, smooths, volumizes, curls Attachments snap on securely Great value with lots of third-party accessory options Cons Curling attachments needs practice and don't create tight curls Switching hot attachments requires caution No included case or cord wrap Overall, the Shark FlexStyle is a fantastic all-around multi-styler that gives salon-like results without the extreme price tag. It’s lightweight, powerful, beautifully designed, and safe for all ages and hair types. While the curlers require a bit of practice and the missing case is a small annoyance, the overall performance and value make it an excellent choice.

Makes wife and daughter happy!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying System mainly for my daughter, who’s really starting to embrace styling her hair as she grows into her teenage years, but my wife was honestly just as excited—maybe even more. And now that it’s been in the house for a bit, I can confidently say they both absolutely love this thing. They’ve told me countless times about how well it works with their tight, natural curls, which is something I’ve learned requires more power, more care, and more precision than most people realize. From their perspective, this tool checks every box and then some. The kit itself comes loaded with attachments, and that’s one of the biggest selling points. You get the main styling unit that pulls double duty as a pretty powerful hair dryer and attachments for curling, straightening, smoothing, and just about any other hair task you can think of. Watching my daughter go from long, curly hair to neatly shaped styles or big curls with bounce is honestly impressive. I’m just observing from the outside, but even I can appreciate how effortless the process looks. She’ll switch attachments in seconds, hit whatever temperature or airflow she needs, and boom, hair magic. My wife echoes the same energy and keeps saying that the FlexStyle handles her hair faster than anything she’s used before, especially for the days when their curls have a mind of their own. This thing becomes a lifesaver during my daughter’s dance competitions. Quick changes during performances are chaotic enough, and having a tool that can go from drying to curling to smoothing without breaking a sweat is huge. I’ve watched them use it backstage on her and even on some of her teammates, and it really shines in those high-pressure, time-crunch moments. It’s portable, easy to maneuver, and strong enough to tame thick, curly hair right when it matters. That alone has made it worth every penny in our household. I can’t give you a technical breakdown of the curling process or airflow dynamics because I don’t have any hair to test it on. But based on the constant excitement from my daughter and wife, and everything I see when they use it, the FlexStyle earns its place as a go-to hair tool. It replaces multiple separate devices, saves time, and seems to give salon-level results without the salon-level stress or learning curve. If you’ve got a lot of hair to manage, or multiple people in the house who all want something different out of one styling tool, this is a solid investment that’ll make everyone’s routine quicker and easier.

Versatile and effective
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark FlexStyle Air Styling and Drying System positions itself as a versatile, all-in-one alternative to higher-priced competitors, and overall it follows through. The FlexStyle combines a hair dryer with multiple styling attachments, including auto-wrap curlers, oval and paddle brushes, and a concentrator. The standout feature that differentiates it from competing brands Is the rotating design. With a simple twist, the device converts from a traditional dryer into a styling wand, which makes switching between drying and styling feel intuitive rather than gimmicky. Airflow is strong, drying time is quick, and heat feels well controlled. Even on higher settings, it avoids the overly hot sensation that can lead to damage or discomfort. The auto-wrap curlers work particularly well once you get the hang of them. The airflow pulls hair smoothly around the barrel, creating consistent curls with less effort than a traditional curling iron. Results are polished and natural-looking, especially for loose waves and everyday styles. The brushes add versatility, making it easy to smooth, add volume, or shape ends without juggling multiple tools. Build quality is solid, and is a situation of “you get what you pay for.” Doesn’t feel as “nice” but that’s understandable that shark had to make some sacrifices to keep the price lower. Still, attachments snap on securely and feel durable enough without being flims. Noise levels are noticeable but reasonable for a high-powered dryer. Where the FlexStyle, like all Shark products, really stands out is value. It offers a wide range of styling features that work solidly, at a price point that is cheaper than other brands. Overall, the Shark FlexStyle does everything it advertised itself to. One small wish would be a case or something to help keep all the attachments organized, but that would likely drive the cost up.

A solid product with a few caveats.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up the Shark Flexstyle air styler and dryer system for my wife who is hairdresser as she was looking for a prosumer level tool for use at home and travel. We have experience with many of Shark's products and they have mastered the art of moving air! We also admire their commitment to solid, quality solutions. The product comes securely packaged and offers a selection of attachments to get you started right out of the box. The product has a satisfying heft and feel in your hands. The barrel is a bit heavy which speaks to its quality construction but also proved a bit fatiguing to hold over time. My wife mentioned that she would have appreciated a textured surface where she grabbed the unit to give her the sense of a more secure grip. Shark products always feature clever engineering. For example the wand features a pivoting action that converts it a right angle, multi-speed, multi-temperature, blow dryer with plenty of volume! The controls are touch sensitive, convenient to reach and offer a good selection of heat and volume. The tips of the attachments are insulated so that you can use both hands to wrap your hair without the danger of burning yourself. As expected the blow dryer moves a significant amount of air given its size. The choice of multiple temperature settings, including a "cold shot" makes this a very flexible tool. Attaching the styling tools is easy and they too feature quality construction. The inclusion of both "right" and "left" curling attachments is intended to enhance switching sides as you work but ultimately she found it to be a bit of a gimmick as anyone who is used to a regular curling iron has probably mastered the task with a single barrel. The styling concentrator attachment was a bit problematic. The unit made it relatively easy to wrap her hair and held it securely during the drying/curling process but the resulting curls really didn't provide long-lasting results. In fact, sometimes the airflow will "blow-out" the curl as you unravel it! I suspect that your experience may vary based on the texture and volume of your hair but keep this in mind when you're thinking of buying this product! A final note in support of this tool is that Shark offers an array of addition attachments that may be purchased to add even more capabilities. Overall, the Shark FlexStyle is a well built product that I believe satisfied most of her needs and would earn a recommendation to her friends and customers.
