Good for Hardwood, Less so on Carpets/Rugs

As such, it does a commendable job as a cordless vacuum. That is, it is really for lighter chores. However, it gives the impression that it can be used for regular vacuuming duties with its floor/carpet. It seems to do an okay job on hardwood flooring but just a fair job on carpeting even with the Ion mode on. Given that this is a handheld, the dirt canister is rather small. When I used it to vacuum a 9x12 rug, it filled the dirt canister rather quickly but I did notice it was not extremely powerful since it didn’t sound too powerful and it had problems going in certain directions of the rug. After filling the dirt canister, I went over the rug again with a corded Shark DuoClean vacuum and got twice the dirt that was sucked up from the cordless IonFlex. So while it does a commendable job on hardwood, it is woefully underpowered for carpets and rugs.

This handheld is a little workhorse. Got up all the dust and small particles I threw at it; easy to navigate (fold/unfold) and empty. Could it use a bit more battery life? Sure. But even in that it did much better than I expected.
