The Shark Matrix 2 1 robot vacuum and mop, with a self-emptying, bagless base and a 30-day capacity, is a beneficial device for any home. It returns to its charging base, where it empties itself and holds enough debris for 30 days. With the Shark Ninja app, you can program it with precision. The setup can be tedious, but it's worth it when done. The home-mapping shark robot can clean seamlessly throughout your home, avoiding obstacles, and with sensors that avoid pets, you get carefree cleaning. With daily or weekly schedules, you can manage your time and clean at your own pace. You can select just one room instead of the entire space if one area needs more attention. The vacuum is very powerful and can run for just under an hour. You can also use Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa to start the vacuum hands-free, making it just a little more effortless. And with the mop heads, it'll clean most messes in a breeze. Using a system called Matrix Clean that has complete coverage to clean all spots with no misses. It also has a Sonic mopping feature that picks up dry debris as if you were sweeping with a manual broom. And I love how it goes from hard flat surfaces to carpet without missing a beat. The cleaning heads are silicone fins that help reduce hair tangling through self-cleaning. I love that feature. If you are looking for an excellent home cleaning unit, check this one out!!!

    Another great Shark product

The Shark Matrix 2 in 1 is another great product from the Shark family. Unboxing and set-up was very simple and straight-forward - download the app, name your vacuum, and let it charge. After the initial charge it will run approximately 60 minutes which was plenty of time for my amount of space (about 1000 sq feet). The initial "mapping" was incredibly fast and I was surprised at how quickly it finished. The phone app shows the areas that were cleaned and it was accurate. After the initial mapping, the Shark recharged and was ready to go. Although it is described as a mop and vacuum product, you have to set up separate map zones for each type of cleaning. In order to mop, you have to install the mopping pad and cleaning solution. When complete you then remove the mopping pad to vacuum. While certainly not a deal breaker, there are other products that will do both at the same time (although they are much more expensive). I only have a small area that needs to be mopped so not a big deal for me. The Shark Matrix did a great job on my first vacuum session. It was very thorough and you could tell by the lines in the carpet that it had covered all areas. The IQ Navigation and Matrix Grid feature ensures that it covers all areas and the powerful Shark suction gets them all clean. One of the greatest features is the ability to use it over and over (up to 30 days) without having to empty the base. It has a decent size dust bin that's easy to remove/empty/replace. There's also a filter in the base that's easy to clean. Being able to tell Alexa to run the machine is also a neat feature - you don't even have to pick up your phone to clean the house! Thumbs up to Shark for another great product!

The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot vacuum & mop is an improvement from previous shark robot vacuums. This whole house claening machine can vacuum and mop your home to keep it nice and tidy. It was easy to "assemble" by just taking a few pieces out of the box, unwrapping the protctive plastic from it and then putting the bin, base playe and sweeper arm on it. Then it was time to download the app, name your machine (if you want), and let it map out your house. Once it maps your house, you name the rooms and can set up zones. Then it is time to start vacumming. You can choose from Eco, Normal, or Mac suction. It gives you a time estimate of how long it will tke to vacuum the area. Clean Latifah as I call her takes 45 minutes to vacuum my 2200 sq ft home. I hsve two golden retrivers - so it gets full of dog hair pretty quickly. I do like to clean the wheels every couple of days to make sure there are no big knots of dog hair junking it up. To use the mop function, you just slip a plate to the bottom of the vacuum that has the mop pad on the bottom of it. It is velcroed on and easy to take off and throw in the wash. It comes with two mop pads. The mopping seems to be a little more powerful than another robot vaccuum I had. It says it scrubs floors 100x per minute nd you can initiate a Mstric Mop for stains or to target dirty areas. It says it holds 30 days worth of dirt and debris. I haven't had it long enough to comment on that - but I do wonder if I will have to mpty it sooner than thst to avoid smells. I had that issue with another vacuum. I have had this for almost a week and it has been clenaing daily. It's so nice to not have to vaccuum 20x per day to pick up all the pat hair my two leave behind!

This is a great little vacuum/mop for the right area and use case. You need to make sure you're getting the right cleaning robot for you and your space. The use of all Shark robots is fairly straight-forward because of the app and the ability to map your space. The Matrix 2-in-1 does a great job with both vacuuming and mopping, but does require a little more attention than other models. With this one, I'd say it's best if you're majority carpet in your space. It can map the floor, vacuum on a schedule, and empty itself. So, if you're just needing a vacuum with occasional mopping of small areas, this is an ideal device. You can have it run on a schedule, empty the dock once per month or so, and not have to think about it. You can designate where there is carpet in the app so that it's not going to soak your carpets. That being said, you need to watch it on the first run or two to make sure you have the areas mapped out correctly as the vacuum doesn't sense the difference on it's own. If you want to vacuum and mop an area (like if you have half carpet and half hard-wood, I'd go with one of the NeverTouch models which can sense where there is carpet and where is wood so it knows where it is safe to mop.

Baby Shark has stepped up their game - Vacuum

The Shark - Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop with Self-Emptying system is a great step forward in the vacuum game. Providing innovative tech to a carpet robot, this one-in-all system provides accurate mapping, effective vacuuming, and surface cleaning via mopping feature. Shark brand continues to develop this section of their product line by continuing to bring new technology, user interfacing, and convenience for everyday users. The self-cleaning is highly effective offering up to one full month of regular use without needing to empty the home unit making this more convenient and less hassle that other units and brands. I found this to be a great addition to our home which is 90% hardwood floors and the rest area rugs. The robot makes good work of the floors via vacuuming, keeps the carpets clean from dog hair and crumbs, and generally helps remove dander and other debris from the floor. The mopping is a nice bonus, but not as convenience as the daily vacuuming due to needing more interaction. The home unit is awesome and need little interaction except monthly to empty. PROS - Shark quality, innovation, and technology - Nearly a whole-home vacuum/mop replacement - Innovative app and interface - Program and go for regular cleaning with little to no interaction - Up to 30 days for cleaning without a need to empty CONS - Cost of these units can be high, but this one is worth it if you are looking for less work and cleaner house. Trade off can be worth it for most people.

This is my review of the Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop with Self-Emptying Bagless Base (30-Day Capacity) in Black. Setup was quick and pretty easy. I’ve owned several robot vacuums over the years—some have been great, while others were so sensitive that the smallest speck on a sensor made me want to throw them out the window. So far, the Shark Matrix has not given me any issues and has not been sensitive going crazy in circles lol! Another huge plus is the self-emptying container. It’s incredibly easy to empty, and since it’s bagless, I don’t have to buy or replace any bags like I’ve had to with other machines I also love that the snap-on side brush actually stays attached and in place. With other brands, I constantly had to pick it up and reattach it. The app is another good feature. I can see exactly what areas were vacuumed and mopped, choose the suction level (Eco, Normal, or Max), view the cleaning map, send the robot back to the dock with a push of a button on my phone, and even locate the robot if it gets stuck—which is such a good option to have All in all, I’m extremely impressed with this machine and would absolutely purchase it again!

    Smart mapping, frustrating mopping, loud

The Shark Matrix 2-in-1 robot vac ended up being a bit of a disappointment despite being a very good robot vacuum. I've had quite a few robot vacs over the years, including a previous model that was one of their first units with LIDAR mapping that also had a mopping pad. This is my first Shark with self-emptying, though, and I was excited to compare this model with the others I've had with similar features (but never all in one). #Unboxing and first impressions# Shark does a pretty good job with their packaging. Most of the packing was cardboard and recyclable, which I always call out though it's becoming more common every year. There was a lot of cling plastic to protect the plastic parts of the robot, however. What Shark does well is having a nice paperboard insert with visual instructions and guidance on installing the SharkClean app for your smartphone. Setup in general was pretty familiar for me, having used other 'smart' robot vacs including my previous Shark model in the same app. #Using the Matrix robot# Once I added the new robot to my SharkClean app, I kicked off the initial mapping run as instructed. The mapping was very quick, as seems to be the case with most LIDAR robots these days. I found that it was also pretty accurate, surprisingly so compared to other models that I've used. The map shows permanent walls and has a different kind of indicator for furniture and temporary fixtures which I thought was a nice touch. It does a very good job of returning to base, and didn't have any issues docking and emptying. The base station is also not as insanely loud as others I've used, and is very easy to empty (though overall it is smaller and has less capacity than others I've used). Once I got to actually using the Matrix, though, things ended up being a little disappointing. For one, the unit is weirdly (and inconsistently) loud. The actual sound of the vacuum is not any louder (or quieter) than other units I've had, but at times it will start this loud ticking/clacking sound. It's almost as if some hard plastic piece is stuck in the brush roll, but I've double and triple checked and that's not the case. And it doesn't do it all the time. I am left wondering if it's something related to the LIDAR sensor spinning, but I haven't been able to narrow it down. Another frustration is with the mopping capability. Defining the carpeted areas on the map of my house was super easy. I like that Shark automatically does a confirmation run where the robot traces the edge of rugs you've set up in the map, but I found that it took way too many confirmation runs to get it right. I feel like a sensor built into the bottom of the robot that sensed when it goes "up" onto a rug would be easier for you (and the robot) to confirm. I also found that it wasn't terribly intuitive to send the robot to spot clean or mop an area due to the scale of the floorplan in the app. The square sizes were simply too big unless you zoom really far into your floorplan. As a result, it ended up being difficult to get it to clean just a small mess on the floor, so every "matrix clean" turned into a 5+ minute affair. #Final thoughts# Shark seems to have taken a step forward and a step back for me with this robot. It's faster than my previous Shark and has caught up with other LIDAR models in that regard. If it were simply a vacuum with a self-empty dock and a little cheaper, I would put the overall experience (app, dock, robot) among the best I've used. The inconsistent noisiness of the robot, and the frustration with the mopping keeps this from being a perfect score. You can leave the mop pad attached for regular cleaning, which is nice, but it was frustrating to get the mopping calibration complete in the app where it would avoid my many rugs. As a result, using the mop function requires a lot of work except in a few limited spots in my home, despite having wood floors throughout. I look forward to seeing where Shark improves in the next year or two.
