Customers are saying
Customers appreciate the Matrix Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum's excellent cleaning capabilities, accurate mapping, and ease of use. Many praise its strong suction, self-emptying feature, and smooth navigation, making it a convenient and effective cleaning solution. However, some users note that the vacuum can be loud and that the dustbin may require more frequent emptying than expected. While the app has received some criticism for being difficult to use, the overall positive feedback highlights the vacuum's performance and helpful features.

Shark Matrix robotic vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I missed this in the description, but in the instructions it says it has to have the base unit set up on a hard floor, no carpet. If you try to set the base on carpet then the robot’s front wheel sinks into the carpet pile and disconnects it from the charge terminals. Well, I don’t have a space with an electrical outlet nearby (power cord to base is five feet long) at the moment. We were preparing to replace the flooring in much of the house with porcelain tile so then I will have a place for it. In the meantime, I’m using a workaround for now so it can dock and charge. It calls for three clear feet on each side and five feet in front, we have plenty of room on the sides but only about three feet in front but it seems to be able to work with that. I had to retry getting connected five times to connect to home wifi, the fifth time I tried using the WPS button on the router and it got it right away. Probably should has tried the WPS button earlier. Has had no problems since. We added the SharkClean app to my phone, the wife’s phone, and my son’s phone. Used the same login info on all and any of us have full control over the vacuum. I did have to run the explore procedure twice, the first time it appeared to miss one room. I believe it was because the dog walked in front of it while it was mapping. Second time it fully completed the map. The app allows you to zone off certain areas and the vacuum will ignore those places, I didn’t want the robot to go under the bed since there are several cords under there and I was concerned that it might get tangled up so I made it a no-go area and it cleans just around the bed. When you create the map of your house it lets you name each room and that allows you to send the vac to clean just one room if you’d like. The app also lets you see the vac’s state of charge and whether it’s cleaning, charging, returning to it’s base, etc. Base unit when emptying is about 83 dBA as measured with a sound level app on my phone, it’s pretty loud. The vacuum itself when on tile flooring and normal suction setting measured about 72 dBA, on carpet with normal suction I measured around 62 dBA. Our dishwasher measures around 52 dBA just for reference. The app allows you to select either an “eco” mode, normal suction, or high suction. The default is normal and it appears to be working fine so I didn’t see any reason to change it. We have two dogs and there is just no way we are going to get 30 days between emptying the base unit’s container. Lucky to get two days but it’s understandable. The bin seems small but if you’re running the vac every other day or so it’s been adequate. The mapping seems amazingly precise, I pulled the chairs away from the kitchen table before we let it explore the second time and you can easily see the table legs on the map. I was able to make an area a no-go zone where the flooring had been cut away in preparation for the remodel and it turned right when it needed to and headed away. If you’re wondering, I do not believe this model can discern if it should “drive around” anything that a pet might leave on the floor, like a toy or something from the back end of your pet? I placed a rolled up sock on the floor and the vac just rolled right over it. It wasn’t enough of an obstacle to activate the bump switch and cause the machine to turn away. All that said, it’s been working great, hasn’t gotten stuck anywhere, and does a good job keeping the floors clean.

Superior to Roomba
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Roomba before and felt the camera performed poorly in mapping out the home and responding to the dynamic nature of a home. I was also concerned about privacy with the camera. I bought the Shark while it was on sale, and I believe the LIDAR sensor is a competitive advantage. In addition, the vacuum is super quiet compared to other brands. I have watched the Shark navigate over power cords and other obstacles in my home without getting stuck. It is rare that I take the time to write a product review. If you are looking for a vacuum robot, Shark is the way to go.

Delivers.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.**Model**:RV2320S Delivers. This is my second Shark robot and of the 3 different brands of robots I've cycled through, it is my favorite by far. The robot has the standard robot vacuum round shape, which limits its ability to hit corners particularly well, even with the side brush. The base is large and does a great job holding plenty of debris from multiple vacuum runs...this should be a standard size for any robot vacuum base as far as I'm concerned. One of my least favorite parts of getting a new robot vacuum is the 'new' part: I liken new robot vacuum behavior to that of a new puppy, going around your house, getting into stuff, making a mess, and constantly needing your attention. That's the first exploration run, usually. With this one, I've found the experience to hav significantly improved even since my first Shark vacuum from the last year and a half. The app is awesome for defining rooms (if applicable to your floor plan) and no-go zones so you can specify specific areas to clean on command. I'd really like to see the ability to clean certain rooms on different schedules, but per the app this functionality may be added int he future. The robot cleans in 3 modes: Eco, Normal and Max. It also has a "Matrix" clean function which is good for spot cleaning a specific region, although the size of the region cannot be changed. After fully charging the unit from the box (2 hours) and doing the initial exploration run (45 minutes - but will depend on the size of the floor plan), the first several runs of this device have been successful without any need for manual intervention. And, unlike my first Shark, this one follows the "no-go" zones 100% of the time, which had to be reprogrammed several times on my previous unit. It's difficult to describe *just* how awesome it is to not have to manually vacuum. I grew up pushing big heavy vacuums around, and now it's not something that I even think about because of robot vacuums. Multi-level homes are the only real down side to the robot vacuums, but still well worth the investment to remove this chore from my life. Yeah, I'm spoiled, but that's ok. And considering the cost of everything going up, and the competition, I think this $500 is a perfectly acceptable price to pay for a unit that eliminates a chore that, I'm sure, most people don't do enough (at least I know I don't).

First time disappointed with Shark
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have other Shark products but am unimpressed by this one THE GOOD ~ Large storage ~ Learns room space quickly ~ Programmable to only clean a room or spot THE BAD ~ Clogs easily ~ Misses a lot of stuff ~ Noisy robot evacuation THE MEH (Could go either way) ~ Requires app for more functionality ~ Doesn't work well right out of the box ~ Not terribly long battery life OVERALL In general, I like Shark products I have, including an older Shark robot (1-2 years old). This one really seems to miss the mark. It's possible I got a lemon. After unboxing the robot, I charged it and then just hit clean. The robot traveled around in a semi-uniform fashion, but left a lot of little pieces of debris. My wife had dropped a coffee bean and the robot drove right over it, knocking it around a bit then left it behind. I downloaded the app and set everything up on my phone. It didn't take long. My house is small and I closed off a couple rooms we don't use much. We have two dogs (a Rottweiler and a Yorkie) and two cats (one long hair and one short), so there are dust bunnies. At first it seemed to be doing well after mapping out the house. But after a bit, I noticed it was leaving a lot of debris and pet hair behind. After evacuating the robot (which is very loud), it returned to clean a little more then ran out of juice, so it docked to charge. I turned it back on a couple days later. There was a message on my phone to clean the robot it was unable to empty debris into the dust bin. This is when I noticed it was clogged. I cleaned it all out and ran the robot. After it docked, I checked the bin. There was a wad of pet hair in there, so I emptied it as the robot went back to work. A little bit later, it docked again and dropped off a small ball of fur. When I flipped the robot, I realized it was clogged again. I cleaned it out and went back to cleaning. When it docked once more to empty and recharge, I noticed it was clogged again. I don't like giving bad reviews and so I have waited until I used this a few times before posting this. I think this might be okay for a couple of elderly people or a single person, perhaps even a house with a small dog like a chihuahua, but it really is not up to the task at my house which sees the door open and close a lot and has pets shedding every day in the summer. THE BIG QUESTION Would I recommend this to someone? Probably not. As I said, I think this might work for someone who lives alone and doesn't have pets or minimal traffic. For them, I might suggest it. But I wouldn't encourage someone with kids or a husky or other dog that might shed.

The easy life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me say vacuuming is not my favorite thing to do. But I do like clean floors, so it's one of those jobs that just has to be done. Unless, that is, you have a Shark Matrix Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum to do the work for you! I absolutely love this thing. First, I let the Matrix map the house using its built in LIDAR. Once the map was created I installed the Shark app on my phone and defined each room in the house in case I want the Matrix to clean a specific room at some point. I then created a schedule to have the Matrix run every day at 9:00 AM while I'm gone. And when I get home the floors are spotless! It almost makes me feel a little bit lazy...but I get over the feeling quickly. It's just me in the house, so you wouldn't think the Matrix would have much to do vacuuming every day. I am amazed, however, at how much dirt gets picked up each day. If you only vacuum once a week, take note...your floors are nasty for 6 days of the week, especially if you have children and/or animals. So, make life easy on yourself. Get the Shark Matrix and sit back and relax!

Neat vacuum cleaner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this vacuum cleaner. It’s definitely a step up from our old Shark. I love how it maps out our home and empty itself. It doesn’t run into the walls or furniture like our previous one.

Gets stuck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to love the Shark Matrix because it does clean well—when it works. It picks up dirt and dust effectively on open floors. Unfortunately, it consistently misses the edges and corners, which means I still have to go in and clean those areas myself. It also gets stuck on everything—rugs, cords, even minor floor transitions. I spend more time rescuing it than I should. To make matters worse, the unit itself is a hassle to clean. Hair and debris get tangled in hard-to-reach places, and taking it apart feels like a chore. For the price, I expected better design and functionality. Not worth it unless your floors are wide open and clutter-free all the time.

Great vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were surprised at how well this robot vacuums our floors. I empty it more than the recommended 30 days though. It would fill up with dog hair after about 3-4 days. Very happy with the purchase!

Shark is amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had an I robot that would not work.because of the dog hair. So we were a little skeptical of trying another robot vaccume. But this shark is amazing! It cleans our floors without clogging and the self empty bin is great! No bags to deal with. I would buy this machine again and will when this one wears out.
