Small and Powerful
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first time I have had a smaller wet dry vac. There were many occasions that a smaller vac would have been helpful for portability and ease. This device does a fantastic job of providing quality powerful cleaning. The suction on this device is fantastic. It provides steady power for both wet and dry applications. I have yet to have a clog or issue under both. The wet vac may not hold as much water as a larger device but, again, for day to day uses this works very well. I have used it to clean rugs, drapes, and the inside of me car and it did a fantastic job on all. A very nice feature is you can attach a bag from 2 to 13 gallons in the bin and have it vacuum directly into it. Al you have to do then is simply throw the bag away. It is corded but it has a long 15 ft cord. It also weighs around 10 pounds so, again, portable. There are attachments that come with as well. The cleaning is easy and it will self clean by simply pouring or sucking up a cup of water. Highly recommend!

No pet tool

This was the main reason to purchase. It did not come with it. It is an inconvenience for me as I live a rural town not close to a Best Buy.

MISLEADING
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.NO wide floor tool exists yet it's shown in the pictures and product literature. Shark's own website carefully omits this tool on its product page. Returning something like this item is a pain!

MessMaster
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MessMaster Portable Wet/Dry Vacuum from Shark is just what I needed to clean my car and to take care of the rare wet mess that a mop just can't handle. The one-gallon dust bin looks a lot smaller than I imagined, having pictured in my mind an average shop vacuum. When I first used the MessMaster to clean my car I thought I'd have to stop multiple times to empty the bin. It had probably been a year since I last vacuumed my car - and I have two toddlers - and cleaning the whole car barely filled a quarter of the dust bin. I am impressed with how powerful the vacuum is for its size. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the MessMaster's suction is comparable to that of a carwash vacuum. The size of the machine makes it a good option for car cleaning. It is lightweight and compact in size. Most of its accessories can be stowed on the machine itself, with the exception of the 3 extension rods. An "accessory holder" is included on the vacuum, but it only holds 2 items. This is the most frustrating thing about this - and most any - vacuum. Where do you store all these odd sized accessories? Along with the 3 extension rods there are 3 other accessories; a crevice tool, a squeegee tool, and a carpet tool. I leave the crevice tool attached to the hose, allowing me to store the other 2 accessories in the accessory holder. Due to its shape, the squeegee tool doesn't clip into the holder all the way, but I was able to get mine to stay well enough. It would've been nice if Shark had engineered another accessory holder in which to clip the 3 extension rods. If not on the side then maybe embedded in the base. One of the things I like most about this vacuum is that it's all water-safe. Hoses, tools, bins, filters - they're all meant to be rinsed clean. Cleaning the machine out after a wet mess is as simple as vacuuming up a cup of warm water a few times. You can even use any 2 - 13 gallon plastic trash bag in the bin if you prefer.

A MessMaster Worthy of the name
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initial impression of the MessMaster is positive. There are three of the usual most used attachments as well as a 3-Piece Extension Wand so you can reach high places or clean the floor without having to bend down. It feels like a quality piece, high quality plastics, well balanced and weighted. Just under 10 pounds. Its oval shape made it a perfect fit for under my kitchen sink. I found the suction power on the MessMaster able to pick up every mess encountered without having to make multiple passes. Using a 2-gallon plastic bag in the vac bin is optional but makes keeping the MessMaster itself clean on wet messes very easy. Without a trash liner, the bin also comes out for easy cleaning. The bin and attachments are all dishwasher safe if you wish to go that route. Unlike your typical home vacuum, this is more like a small shop vac. Able to clean up not only dry items, but unlike your typical home vacuum, it can clean up wet items, even large liquid spills you could not clean with a typical home vacuum without damaging it. It’s great for kitchen and kid messes. For example, before coffee, I had a bowl of 6 beaten eggs accidentally get pushed off the kitchen island. Normally that would have taken a whole lot of paper towels and some time to clean up. This small vac sucked it all up in seconds. I followed with a sainting wipe and then filled a bowl with warm water and let the MessMaster suck that up to clean the inside of the attachment and hose. After I removed the bin and cleaned it, I looked in the hose, all was as clean as when new. I repaired a small hole in drywall and the MessMaster did great at cleaning up the drywall debris after. The MessMaster works fine in the car as well to clean up a localized mess in one area quickly, such as from a child, pet, or small home DIY project. However, the MessMaster hose at just 3’ long which makes it awkward to use in a confined space such as a car interior. Small cleanups are its forte. But an extension hose would expand its usefulness and be a welcome addition or option. Pulling out the power cord and then wrapping it up when done adds to the effort, though small. This vacuum aimed at cleaning life’s small messes seems an ideal situation for a battery. Shark has some excellent battery powered vacuums, so they have the technology on the shelf. I am hoping another version will come out with a battery option to make this handy vacuum even handier. Dragging a large dirty shop vac from the garage is not usually practical or desirable. The MessMaster is well made, easy to use, and very handy to have in the home for many of life’s messy situations that come up.

Wet / Dry tiny workhorse!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In today's busy world, a reliable and multifunctional vacuum is a must-have for every household and workspace. Enter the Shark Mess Master Wet and Dry Vacuum – an innovation that truly lives up to its name. From its diverse set of tools to its unique features, it offers an unparalleled cleaning experience. The inclusion of specialized tools, such as the squeegee tool, makes cleaning liquid spills an absolute breeze, while the carpet tool diligently addresses dirt and debris. Those challenging to reach corners and tight spaces are no longer an issue thanks to the crevice tool. And for those areas either too high or too low, the extension wands come into play, extending the vacuum's reach to both floor and ceiling. One of the standout features of this vacuum is its self-cleaning system. A simple action of vacuuming up water is all it takes to flush the entire system, eliminating the hassle of manual cleaning. Additionally, the design is thoughtful; the hose and cord can be effortlessly stored on top of the unit, which makes storage neat and uncomplicated. The easily cleanable dust bin is another well-thought-out and unique feature. Emptying the bin is straightforward – just dump out whatever you've vacuumed up. Moreover, the "Anybag technology" is a real game-changer. The ability to line the dust bin with any plastic bag is invaluable, especially for those messier tasks where you'd rather not come into direct contact with the debris. Performance-wise, the Shark Mess Master does not disappoint. The claim that it never loses suction stands accurate. This consistent performance ensures that the vacuuming process remains efficient from start to finish, irrespective of the size or nature of the mess. Its versatility is perhaps best exemplified in my own experience: it not only claims a special spot my the garage for shop cleanup but also proves invaluable in detailing my cars. This speaks volumes about its flexibility in use. To top it off, the three-year warranty is a testament to the brand's confidence in the product. It provides an added layer of assurance, ensuring peace of mind for users. In conclusion, the Shark Mess Master Wet and Dry Vacuum is a testament to innovation meeting practicality. Its array of features, consistent performance, and adaptability make it an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive cleaning solution. Whether it's for the garage, home, or car, this vacuum truly masters the mess. Highly recommended!

The perfect apartment wet/dry vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing has strong suction. My dog was sick and I used this to clean up the mess no problem. It had no problem getting up all of the vomit and leaving nothing behind. It was able to vacuum up anything I threw at it—things as fine as dust and as large as piece of plastic. It had no issues remaining clog free which I appreciated. It includes a number of attachments: a squeegee head, a carpet head, a crevice head, and an extension wand. The tools all have distinct purposes for different types of messes and they excel at what they do. Specifically the squeegee attachment does a great job at getting thin layers of water off of a hard surface like wood or tile. The vacuum is super easy to clean. Shark advertises that you can vacuum up a cup of water to clean it out, but also everything disassembles if you’d rather do a deeper clean. I recommend disassembling because if you vacuum up too much water it will spray out (guessing to protect the motor from flooding. One of the best parts about this vacuum is the ability to use any bag! Kudos to Shark for being so consumer friendly. It includes two bags to give you an idea of what you will need; but it is designed in a way to store the excess bag and make it fit in the space provided. I personally found that using a bag was great for dry messes; but once I switched to purely liquid messes, the bag just got in the way. My wish list for a new version would include an optional wheels attachment and an optional battery pack. The vacuum is small enough where it isn’t an issue to carry it around, but it would be nice if you have a bigger mess to clean to not to have to keep moving the vacuum around as you move around. Likewise, this thing is perfectly sized to be portable, but the power cable is the limiting factor in true portability.

Insanely good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently had the opportunity to try out the Shark MessMaster Portable Wet/Dry Vacuum. I will be honest that this is not quite what I was expecting when I signed up for what I would call a shop vac. This is more of a shame on me, though, for not fully crediting the manufacturer to stay true to form. Shark is known for their minimalist approach when designing vacuums of any variety, and the MessMaster is no exception. That said, Shark not only delivered on their true to form sizing but also on their robust performance. The lightweight size makes this the perfect companion in any household at just under ten pounds. I really thought that since the unit was so small, there was no way that this unit would contend with my dogs, my kids, or my shop. I was wrong, and the MessMaster has exceptional cleaning power. The No Loss of Suction Technology is lost on me, but it works because nothing seems to slow it down. I can say that the only thing I saw the vacuum struggle with aside from weighted material such as pebbles, glass, or nuts and bolts was my Great Pyrenees’ hair clumps after he had a thorough brushing. I really appreciate the easy maintenance and cleanup since the device uses AnyBag Technology. Or by being able to put the canister directly into the dishwasher. The MessMaster comes with a wide assortment of attachments hoses and offers a lengthy plugin cord to make tackling any task within reach. In conclusion, I have been extremely impressed with the Shark MessMaster Portable Wet/Dry vacuum. The powerful cleaning abilities and features make this a device that I would highly recommend.

Good garage companion
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark MessMaster Portable Dry/Wet vacuum has proven to be an invaluable addition to my cleaning arsenal. Here's what I love about it: Lightweight and Portable: Weighing in at just over 9 pounds, it's incredibly easy to carry around the house, up and down stairs, and even to your car. This lightweight design is a game-changer for quick cleanups. Exceptional Suction: The suction power of this vacuum is nothing short of amazing. It handles a wide range of messes, from dry debris to stubborn, stuck-on dirt with ease. Wet Feature: The wet feature is a standout, making it effortless to clean surfaces with dried-on messes. It's ideal for tasks like cleaning baseboards and window frames. Efficient Storage: Storing this vacuum is a breeze. The power cable coils neatly around the handle, and a large clip holds your attachments securely in place. Versatile Attachments: The vacuum comes with a range of attachments, including an edge tool, a wet mess tool, and a carpet/upholstery tool. These tools have hard rubber edges to prevent scratching and are labeled for easy identification and use. User-Friendly Design: While it lacks multiple settings, the single power button provides sufficient power for most tasks. It's been a reliable companion for cleaning couches, stairs, and car interiors. Bag or Basket Option: The choice of using a bag or basket makes disposal convenient. The basket is easy to clean, and you can even toss it in the dishwasher. However, a few considerations: Extension Wand: While versatile, the extension wand slightly reduces suction strength. It's a bit cumbersome to assemble and store, which could be improved for added convenience. Bulky Wand and Crevice Tool: The extension wand could be more streamlined, and the crevice tool could be slimmer to reach tight spots more easily. Wheels: Adding lockable wheels would enhance mobility and maneuverability while In summary, the Shark MessMaster is a powerful, lightweight, and efficient vacuum that's perfect for quick cleanups at home and in your car. With a few minor improvements in wand design and storage convenience, it could be even more outstanding. Despite these considerations, it's a fantastic solution for tackling life's messes quickly and effectively.

Powerful Lightweight Wet/Dry Vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This compact Dry/Wet surprised me the suction power in vacuuming out vehicles. The unit is easy to assemble out of the box and then ready to use. This unit comes with the accessories needed for vacuuming out vehicles in a snap. Being lightweight this unit is easy to maneuver in vacuuming out cars, SUVs and trucks as I own one of each. I did need to shampoo one of our vehicles and this unit was able to work flawlessly as a wet vacuum, easy to setup for this task. Using as a dry vacuum this unit has plenty of storage before needing emptying and this is a plus. I only emptied when I did wet vacuuming and had plenty of storage left. I also using this in the house for our stairs as the suction power is up to this task and being this unit is small and lightweight I was able to vacuum the base boards in our house in a snap with the attachments included. Being able to use this for many tasks I would like to see wheels to pull around easier and a longer hose. This unit will be a workhorse for my family on vehicle and house tasks. A very good unit especially being so powerful and compact.

Simply amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Messmaster is a unique vacuum that offers the power and versatility of a wet/dry vacuum, combining the portability of a small unit. After using it for the last couple of weeks, I now wonder how I was able to contain the never-ending train of mess created by my two dogs all these years. The first thing I want to get out of the way is; the “portable” part of the MessMaster is a bit misleading - it’s portable in the sense that it’s small and light enough that can be carried around the house even by a child, and not in the sense that it’s is “plug-free” or battery powered (I was we get there someday though). And the second, even though it is a wet/dry vacuum, it won’t necessarily replace a real large traditional wet/dry vacuum i.e. this is no “shop vac”. With those out of the way, the performance and usability of the MessMaster is truly astonishing. So even though I said it’s not cordless, it’s actually a good thing that it’s corded - this allows the vacuum to have really high suction power. It trumps all battery powered vacuums I have, and is even better at picking up debris than Shark's own full-size upright one that has been my main weapon for the last few years. It’s not quiet (and I never expected it to be), but not too loud as to give me a headache when I’m using it at close proximity. The multiple accessory/heads given (which includes a squeeze for the wet stuff) are well made and can be stored conveniently in the provided holder. It does not have a roller head for carpets, but again this is not a regular carpet vacuum, rather a nice way to fight messes and spills in the home. As such, I use it more as a remedy for “accidents” than as a regular cleaner. The container can only hold ~around 1 gallon or dirt/dust (but only ~half-gallon of liquid), so this is obviously not for work-related cleanup. Where it overshadows the regular vacuum is it is able to work with both dry and wet messes, and it does so elegantly compared to a regular shop vac. I didn’t have to change the filter or any bags when I was switching from picking up spilled kibbles and cereals to sucking up the spilled coffee from the floor. Moreover, the dirt container can accommodate a variety of bags that help cleaning the vacuum itself super easy. And the cherry on the cake is the easy-peasy way the MessMaster can self-clean - with just water (or water and vinegar when the mess is more intimidating). As such, it makes keeping the vacuum nice and tidy very convenient - I’d rinse it after almost every task, and after a few weeks I typically do a deep clean. And here the MessMaster again proves that the Shark team took their sweet time developing this - most of the things can be cleaned in a dishwasher - which I found to be amazing. The build and ergonomics is spot on. Very rarely I found Shark products to be made flimsily, and the MessMaster didn’t disappoint. The hose and the power cord can be wrapped around the unit very easily, and as I already mentioned, all the accessories have a stowage space. In summary, I’m extremely happy with the MessMaster. It has made my daily cleaning less strenuous. And the price seemed fair compared to the versatility it provides. Almost a must have if you’re dealing (like me) with everyday spills and messes by furry friends or children. Highly recommended.

Convenience That Cleans All!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark MessMaster is my first wet/dry vacuum. The reason why I decided to get one finally was because, over the past three months, there were multiple times when I needed one. What drew me to the Shark MessMaster was its compact size and mobility. Set-Up: After you remove the standard plastic packaging outside and inside the canister, the MessMaster is ready to clean. There’s no assembly like you would find with standard upright vacuums. Cleaning: My first task with the MessMaster was to use it on the inside of my car. Too many times I would be at the car wash, using their incredibly large hoses to find that there was barely any suction or it didn’t work at all. And even when they do work, those vacuum ends don’t exactly fit into the seat crevices with ease. So, you can bet I was elated to try this vacuum out knowing that I could take my time without another car waiting their turn. I was thrilled to hear the vacuum come to life and see it suck up the typically hard-to-reach areas of my car such as the middle area where various debris accumulates between the driver and passenger seats. Then there is the base of where the seat belt(s) are and the unidentified clusters that were always “safe” because the car wash vac nozzles couldn’t invade and clean them up. It was so easy. I got into every nook and under each seat without having to struggle with the hose reach or accessing the areas. Sure, someone could make the argument that I could just bring out my upright indoor vacuum and use it but coming from personal experience, it’s cumbersome and even more time-consuming. Using the MessMaster for quick cleaning is fantastic for when I spilled the fresh cat litter. I brought out the wet/dry vac, sucked up the unused litter, opened the canister, and poured it back into the bin that store the litter. I would have to say that the shining moment of the MessMaster was when recently, my toilet overflowed for some reason and water went flowing over the brim of the toilet, getting all over the floor. In the past, I would scramble for towels that would be drenched in a matter of a couple of minutes. The MessMaster was like a little, thirsty monster. It sucked up the excess water far better than bath towels could or even an abundance of paper towels could ever do. The vacuum stored the water in its container, I opened it up and poured the collected water into the tub. The residual water left behind was wiped up with a single towel. You have the option of using a canister bag or just relying on the canister by itself. It depends on the type of mess you are cleaning up such as broken glass or whatnot. What’s better is that the MessMaster isn’t beholden to a certain bag, if you have a bag that fits the canister then you are good to go. Better Safe Than Sorry: As I mentioned before, there were several times this past year when I wished that I had a wet/dry vacuum, saving me a lot of headaches. Now, I have the peace of mind knowing that a quick and convenient cleanup is within reach.
