holes in the hoses... after only a year?

Today, I was wondering why my vac seemed to have no suction power. Found multiple holes in the hose! The warranty is for about 5 years.... Shark wouldn't honor it. Wanted to send me a replacement part.... I'm not handy, I don't need to be wasting my time trying to fix something that shouldn't have broken in the first place! Stay away from Shark!!!
