Shark certainly is raising the bar with the new NeverChange Air Purifier Max. This purifier can cover up to 1,400 square feet of living space, while capturing 99.98% of airborne particles like allergens, dust, and dander. It includes an innovative Odor Neutralizer Technology that uses a replaceable pod to release a fresh scent into the air to help guard against odors. And, best of all, the filter is advertised to last up to 5 years before needing to be replaced! A longer filter life helps consumers save money and reduces waste in the environment. This is a game changer for air purifiers. I’ve been using the Shark NeverChange Air Purifier Max for almost a week now and I have only good things to say about its design, features and performance. The unit arrived in perfect condition. It was nicely packaged in a large poly bag and cardboard inside a cardboard retail box which was inside another cardboard shipping box. Setup was a breeze and it only took a couple minutes to remove the tape and plastic from a few spots, remove the plastic bag from the air filter, insert the odor neutralizer pod and plug in the unit. The air purifier does come with a one page quick start guide to help you get setup and familiarize you with the Clean Sense IQ display and what the different color rings indicate. The guide includes a QR code to scan for more information, however it takes you to the main shark website and not to the full instructions for this model air purifier, as it indicates. Hopefully that will be corrected by Shark for future owners. I really like the design and functionality of this air purifier. It has a clean, modern look that allows it to be placed in any room with any décor, without disrupting the design aesthetic of the room. The operation of the unit is simple and very user friendly with touch-screen controls on top that work well and are easy to read. The Clean Sense IQ display is bright and easy to read with color rings to indicate the air quality. The air purifier can sense changes in air quality and when set on auto mode it will automatically react to changes in air quality to improve and clean the air around it. The Clean Sense IQ displays live updates so you can watch the Clean Air percentage improve as the air is cleaned by the air purifier. The air quality sensor on this unit works remarkably well, and truly does work in a multi-room environment. I placed the air purifier in my living room and noticed that it responded to changes in air quality in the furthest room away, within a minute or two and cleaned the air within another minute or two. Another great feature of this air purifier is the Debris Defense screens on both sides of the unit. These work as a pre-filter to catch hair, dust and lint and if you clean them regularly they help to extend the life of the air filter and improve the overall performance and efficiency of the unit. The absolute best feature of the Shark NeverChange Air Purifier Max is the air filter that is advertised to last for up to 5 years! While a washable forever HEPA filter should be the ultimate goal for air purifier manufacturers, giving us a filter that can last for up to 5 years is a great step in the right direction! They do say that the statistic is based on a 300 square foot space, versus a competitor unit, which leads me to ask why not test it running on a 1,400 square foot space, or at least something closer to the advertised usage. But I’ll just have to wait and see how long the filter actually lasts for my home. I’m sure it varies depending on usage. I have 2 dogs that produce dander as well as a husband who likes to smoke from time to time so I’m guessing I’ll only get closer to 3 years, but only time will tell. I’m really happy that I got this new air purifier by Shark. It’s yet another great Shark product that is well-designed, built to last, has innovative features and is user friendly. The air in my home is cleaner than ever before and with the Odor Neutralizer my house has never smelled more fresh!

It's not worth $300, there are no observable physical changes to the air quality, it just adds to the electricity bill, severely overpriced, I wish I could get my money back

Stays 0%. I cleaned everything, filters and youtube how to fix it the 0%. But nothing. Its just a regular blowing fan right now. Watse of money. Cant even return it to bestbuy. If anyone can help me fix it pls let me know.

I was excited to try this out since indoor air quality is very important in our household. Especially with airborne allergies, we suffer quite a lot from allergies. For some context, we are 2 adults, a Labrador retriever that has free reign to go in and out as he pleases, about 1000sq ft in the 1st floor, some carpet. Unboxing this thing was easy enough. It is a large box and within it is the biggest air purifier I've had my hands on. It doesn't really go with our home decor and it will stick out with its size and look. With its big size comes big performance. It claims to cover up to 1400sq ft and it does it well. It's included odor neutralizer gives our first floor a pleasant fresh smell. The biggest selling point for me is the fact that I can turn this on and not have to worry about buying air filters as often as I am used to. Your mileage may vary depending on the size of your area and how often you run the air filter. I just like having a device with less maintenance involved as I use it. In auto mode, it does a great job with running the motor that best optimizes for the air quality. At the increased fan speed, it is noticeably audible but again you trade off with getting good air quality. A big digital gauge on the front gives a clear indicator as to your quality. The top display calls out the options for fan speeds, on/off switch, screen dim for night mode and a lock function.

Never change? Can it be true? I’m excited by the idea that this filter will last 10 times longer than a standard air purifier filter. I can see what may actually make that possible too! It has two pretty cool slides on the side of the machine that can come out and be rinsed or washed as needed. I can tell you it works too! Kids fiddled with my toaster controls and I didn’t notice when I made my toast. Was quite burnt! The air purifier could sense the smoke and was working hard to clear the air. The light up blue circle turned red and you could hear the fan filtering the air, but it wasn’t too loud! Was a very acceptable amount of noise to be going full blast. I love the sleek design of this air purifier. My young nieces were fascinated by the looks and asked what it was as soon as they saw it. We all agreed it looks like a robot! I have this set up in my open space downstairs and it’s doing a great job. We have wildfires and the smoke is really bad outside but inside we are doing well & not able to even smell it. It also has this cool odor neutralizer that has a light fresh scent. I can definitely see myself using that and replacing it when needed. It has an adjustable scent control as well. Shark air purifiers are great. This is my second one and I’m happy with its size, performance & design. If you’re in the market for an air purifier I would recommend this one.

It’s incredibly powerful and noticeably improved the air quality in my home almost immediately—less dust, fewer dog farts, and easier breathing overall. The coverage is excellent for my large bedroom, and it runs quietly and you can dim all of the lights. The standout feature is the 5-year filter life. Not having to constantly replace filters is both convenient and cost-effective. The unit design looks decent enough. I'm not a fan of the scented pod thing though... Setup was simple... turn it on and let it rip. Highly recommended.

The Shark Never Change Air Purifier Max is a good buy. It comes with a 2 year limited warranty. It is modern looking and super light weight *moving it to a new location is quick and easy. The purifier comes well packaged with detailed startup instructions. The complete set of instructions must be downloaded, but the quick start guide will get you going immediately. I do recommend downloading the instructions to see the complete guide. It was there that I found better details about the maintenance. I love that they recommend vacuuming the HEPA filter and prefilter every 2 months. I have other purifiers, and I do the same thing, but the manufacturer does not specify it. They would rather charge you for a new filter instead of increasing the lifespan with routine maintenance. This unit even goes so far as to flash you a message on the air quality screen when the maintenance needs to be done.       I could immediately smell the difference in freshness right when I turned on the air purifier. Air purifies that are effective have a nice charcoal filter smell to them. This one had it right away. Regarding the odor neutralizer, after about a week I got the courage to try it. I was pleasantly surprised since I am very sensitive to overpowering air fresheners and perfumes in general. The dial lets you select the strength of the scent. It is not overpowering, even on the highest setting. The odor neutralizer will last about 3 months according the manual. The replacements come in a 2pk on the website. They also offer an optional remote control on the product accessory website. The air quality indicator is a very nice touch. It gives you piece of mind about the size and amount of particulates floating around in your air. 1400 sq ft of coverage is pretty amazing. My open floor plan living space utilizes it perfectly. I have also moved it into the bedroom and found that the sound of the purifier gives me a better quality of sleep and helps me to fall asleep faster. The quality of air also contributes to the sleep quality too. I have noticed less dust as well. The great part about having it in the room while sleeping is that the display can be darkened and only the power button and dimmer button are dimly lit. This is perfect. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. I have a different purifier that does not dim and therefore has a random instruction booklet taped to the top to cover up the lights. No such problems with this purifier. On this unit, there is a timer option which is very handy. I am considering a second unit for my upstairs area because I am so pleased with this one.

This is by far the best air purifier I’ve ever bought. The difference in air quality was noticeable within just a few days. It runs quietly, is easy to use, and does an excellent job removing dust, odors, and allergens from the air. My home feels fresher and cleaner, and I’ve even noticed an improvement in my sleep and overall comfort. The build quality is excellent, and it’s worth every penny. Verdict: It’s not the best-looking air purifier… but it’s a powerhouse. It can purify a 1400 sq. ft. room in just an hour. It has a convenient LED screen for air quality status, easy button controls, automatic self-adjusting power, and fresh-smelling cartridges. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a UV light. First impressions. Wow! That’s a big machine. It looks like an industrial air purifier rather than a home purifier. The button panel is easy to understand and to use. Controls. Located at the top of the unit, the control panel allows for easy operation of the machine. From the panel, you can turn the machine on/off, change the fan speed, select auto-adjustment of the power settings, set a timer, and adjust brightness. The LED screen provides easy-to-read air cleanliness status. Air filter. The best feature of this air purifier is that we don’t have to change the filter for up to five years! This is going to save us a good amount of money. The Filtration system uses pre-filtration screens to remove large debris and then an anti-allergen HEPA filter to trap 99.98% of particles. Of note, there is no UV light on this machine to kill bacteria or viruses. Performance. This machine appears to be quite powerful. At maximum power, the fan is strong and not quiet. At the minimum speed, the machine is very quiet and barely noticeable. The lights are dimmable so that you can also use it at night. There is a slot for air-neutralizing cartridges; this is a very convenient feature because you can get a nice smelling home while the machine cleans the air. This feature works very well actually. Things I love. - Big and powerful - Easy to use control panel - Automatic self-adjustment of power setting - Anti-allergen HEPA filtration - No air filters to buy for 5 years!! - Integration of smell-good cartridges - 5-year warranty… wow! Things I don’t love. - This machine would be more effective if it included a UV light and an Ionizer. - I wised the machine looked better. I am happy to use it in my bedroom or in the living room when no one is visiting, but it’s not a device I would leave in a corner if we have guests at the house. Overall, this is a good machine to achieve rapid air purification without having to spend money on air filters. Some features could be better, but I am overall happy about the performance thus far.

This product works amazing and as advertised! Living in a apartment we get all the smells and pet dander. This helped remove the oders and pet dander with no issues. It was super simple to set up and use highly recommend.

It's really nice knowing the quality of the air in our home it's being monitored and the lovely smell that it emits. I like being able to see seei the air quality. Makes me more secure about the air I'm breathing. It's very quiet so it doesn't interfere with our sleep. It's nice knowing the quality of the air that's being put back into our home. Also, I like the timer on it. It makes it very convenient to know that it's off during the day when we're not home, but can come on right before we get home or anytime of the day I choose. Not having to purchase extra filters all the time is a really really great thing. I recommend this product to anyone and have throughout my work area and my friends and family.

I bought this after having a full on sneeze day recently. It was horrible. I don’t think that will ever happen again with this unit. It makes the air more comfortable to breathe, and I like how it circulates the air in the room. I’ve got two cats and I don’t smell them any more. I also smoke and don’t see the smoke lingering in the air anymore. This is a game changer and a life saver. I love my shark vacuum and how well it’s performed under heavy use throughout the years, so I’m looking forward to this unit also working well.

I LOVE this air purifier, it looks great in my house and does an incredible job, I have 2 cats and the amount of hair around my house has decreased significantly. I have other air purifiers as well, and this one is by far my favorite. I have to change the others filters so often which gets expensive, but because this one has the extra filters to catch large particles (like cat hair) I just have to clean those and put them back in every so often. It also has an option to put scent into the air, and you can chose how strong it is (I personally opt out because I don’t love fragrance but before I figured it out it was putting the fragrance in the air and it was a light mild smell that didn’t bother me)

Let me get right at why you might read this review. I have had a few weeks using this new Shark NeverChange Air Purifier Max and it is terrific. Its only possible shortcoming, as with any air cleaner/purifier that I have ever had, would be noise of the fan. But lets be real, without the fan spinning at higher levels it will never clean enough of the air in your home or office to be any use. And YES, this definitely is cleaning the air in my home. And it does it all on a set it and forget it "auto" mode. The terrific sensors built into the purifier ACTUALLY takes care of the air for you. Especially useful around dinner time. Most evenings it ramps up as the LCD score on the front of the unit goes down. We are not burning dinner, but it senses particles in the air and it ramps up to suck those particles out of the air. Within about an hour. It has mellowed to a slower/calmer fan speed and the house is as if we had cooked nothing at all, smelly foods or not. Just be aware of where you locate the unit. We placed ours at the edge of the living room in the traffic flow between kitchen and bedrooms. While it may look like R2-D2 and a 20lb propane bottle had a baby. It can get loud like an old school window air conditioner on max/high and it can last for awhile as it freshens and cleans the air. The included odor neutralizer seems to work without adding a masking scent to the air. The neutralizer has a smell to it, but its not identifiable to my wife or me. Its just a pleasant clean smell. While I have only ever owned 3 big house air cleaners. This Shark is by far the best performer, and it is actually sensing the need to clean dirty air and ramping up the fan to work harder at cleaning the air. You can also see particulate info on the LCD display. My older highly rated air cleaner never ramped up to clean the air like this shark does. The Shark is also significantly louder at all but the lowest speed. A bit like the hum of a refrigerator when it cycles. So, If a fridge hum is annoying to you. You might want to place it out of the way. Yet, despite the slightly increased noise. This machine WILL clean odors out of the air. And with the promise of possibly up to 5 years before the air filter replacement. Just keeping the air scent pod changed and the prefilters clean on either side could make Shark NeverChange Max the best air purifier from any brand.

I've purchased a few air purifiers in the past, and have allergies to contend with when a purifier isn't getting the job done. This one is the best one I've ever had! One of my favorite features is the debris catcher, which is a huge help for anyone with animals in the house. I have two cats, and it catches the hair and extends the life of the 5yr filter (also amazing!). I set it to auto for most of the day, and then put it up to a set fan speed at night for sleeping. It picks up bad particulates when the windows are open on a questionable air quality day, or when I'm cooking (especially if something burns a little), and any other time that the air is bad. It'll turn yellow or red, depending on the severity, and boost the fan to pull in more air faster until it registers okay air again. It doesn't seem to register chemical smells I get when the neighbors (living in an apartment) have a cleaning day and bleach everything to high heaven, but it catches everything else and I'm very impressed with my Shark. I highly recommend!

Use this in a home we have as a furnished rental - house didn't smell bad at all but just had an odor - not strong but enough to notice - installed this and within a day it made an immediate difference in quality of air/smell - and it is quiet! BestBuy was great for order ease/narrowing options/delivery
