Customers are saying
Customers regard the Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with XL Dust Cup as easy to use, lightweight, and powerful, with impressive suction and good battery life. Many are happy with its overall performance and appreciate that it is cordless and has a low noise level. However, some customers have noted that it can struggle with deep carpet, and a few feel it is overpriced or that it should have the ability to stand upright on its own.

Stairs can be problematic for this model
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Rocket IX141 26 had the potential to be good cordless stick vac, but one particular design decision means it might not be worth considering if you intend to use it on stairs. [ The good ] - Great suction and brush power for a stick vac. It performed notably well at picking up pet fur entrapped in thick carpet pile. - Great maneuverability - Light-weight - Seems to be made of durable materials, with good construction quality - Quiet relative to the amount of cleaning power [ The bad ] I use a large corded vacuum cleaner for the main carpeted areas of my home, and then use a cordless stick vac for stairs, landing, other tight spots, and quick spot cleaning. Of those use cases, I most appreciate using stick vacs on stairs, where maneuvering a large corded vacuum becomes truly cumbersome. Unfortunately, however, unlike any other stick vac I’ve ever used prior, this stick vac is designed for the brush roller to not operate when the vac is in an upright position. Additionally, when pulled out of the upright position, it takes a moment for the brush roller to kick in. This makes it anywhere from cumbersome to quite difficult to use on narrow stairs when there are walls on both sides, which is the case for me. This can be partially alleviated by removing the wand and connecting the floor nozzle directly to the hand vac, though this requires progression from the base of the stairs upwards, and requires bending over a good amount. For this reason alone, if I had purchased this product, I would have returned it immediately for a refund. When emptying the dust cup, I regularly had clumps of dust, hair, and fur stick to the circular protrusion on the hatch, and at least once around the pre-filter, requiring manual--and dirty--intervention. This generally hasn’t been a problem on competing products I’ve used. The session duration afforded by the battery isn’t quite as good as other cordless stick vacs I’ve used (at least when primarily cleaning carpeted surfaces), and the charging time is rather poor as well. The vacuum neither comes with a charging station nor can it stand upright on its own (without purchasing the MultiFlex Under-Appliance Wand accessory that allows the canister to flex forward, thereby changing the center of mass). I had other minor nit-picks that would likely sound petty to mention. [ Conclusion ] The core strengths of this cordless stick vac could make it a good option for many people. However, one poor design choice regarding the floor nozzle (which contains the motorized brush) can make it difficult to use on stairs, which is not a problem I’ve seen in competing products. Since stairs are one of the best use cases for this type of product, my verdict is to pass on this model and look at alternative options.

Poor on Suction
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Shark Rocket was top heavy with the motor on the top of the operating stick but most of all it was poor on suction. Would not remove pet hair from easy chairs. Did fair on wod and carpet floors.

Not good
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t like this vacuum at all. Bristles run too fast, practically drags you along the floor. No option to no have brush run. Head constantly Gets clogged and stops sucking. Not happy.

It sucked...well NOT really at all.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned it. Seemed like a good quality vacuum, I've owned a more expensive Shark and was happy with it. Bought it for quick sweep up in the kitchen, but it wouldn't even pick small crumbs up form the hard surface floor. Worked a little better on an area rug, but no good at all on hard surface.

Find another vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this as the upgrade because we love our older Shark so much. Battery replacement was almost as much as a new unit so we just figured we would upgrade. Terrible idea. Despite what it says, hair is wrapped constantly and you have to cut it off. Find another vacuum friends. This one’s a lemon.

very versatile, lightweight, works well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Rocket cordless vacuum is a very nice vacuum cleaner. The best features are that it is both cordless (power comes from a built-in lithium-ion battery) and lightweight. That makes it easy to move around whatever you’re cleaning (the floor, a sofa, your car) without having to drag a cord or heavy base unit around, which is a huge convenience in my book. There are only two main parts, the head unit with the dirt collector and the power switch, and the extension (called the “wand”) that reaches the floor if you want to use it like an upright vacuum cleaner. The floor unit has a powered roller and a built-in light to illuminate the floor in front of you. The dirt collector is made of clear plastic, so it is easy to see when it is full, and emptying it is easy as well. With the floor extension removed, the head unit itself can be used much like a hold-in-your-hand dustbuster as the attachments fit onto the end of it. There is a broader fitting for cleaning something like a sofa, and it has a brush attachment for vacuuming dusty surfaces. There is also a crevice attachment for getting into narrow places like between couch cushions or between seats in your car. Accessory connections are made with a positive click fitting, rather than the usual press-fit connection typical of vacuum cleaner attachments. I find this a nice feature as well as I always have trouble keeping press-fit attachments from coming loose. The power switch has two settings, depending on whether you’re cleaning bare floors (low speed recommended) or carpets (high speed recommended). The difference is the speed at which the roller spins. There is also a trigger much like the trigger on a gun you can pull for a “boost” mode to give a momentary extra suction power. It is not meant for constant use as you must keep the trigger pulled. We have two pets (dog and cat), so we have pet hair on the furniture all the time. I first used this unit in the hand-held mode with the brush attachment, and it did pretty well on removing the hair from the cushions where it tends to cling pretty tenaciously. It certainly did no worse than our conventional vacuum, and it was much more convenient to hold and use. The battery is not removable, so you’ll want to keep the battery charged if you vacuum often. Indicator lights on the head unit gives the state of charge, and a full charge takes about three hours. The unit was charged about two-thirds out of the box, so I did not have to charge it before use, and it did not run down during the vacuuming session I put it through. While this unit is not necessarily a substitute for a full-size floor vacuum, especially in terms of how often you will have to empty the dirt collector versus how often you have to change the collection bag on a full-size vacuum, it holds its own very well, and the ability to switch between floor and hand-held vacuuming makes it useful even if you already have a conventional vacuum cleaner. In many situations, this unit could serve as your only vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend it.

Good Suction for 1 Year
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was fine for about a year and then completely lost suction. You now have to use the "turbo" button for it to suck up basic crumbs otherwise it'll just move the crumbs around. It's also takes getting used to that the brush will pull the vacuum forward which makes pulling it backward feel awkward. It's fine I guess and probably because it's so light.
