We have had a number of Shark vacuums in the past but were very disappointed with this one. It lacks suction and is surprisingly loud for the lack of cleaning it produces.

Not sure what is worse: This junk product! or Best Buys horribly short return period! I used this on average once every two weeks for 10 minutes each time. Equals total of about 6 uses or 1 hour total usage. Now when I try to use it there is zero suction at all! Best buy just says it is past our return can't help you! Bought 2 months ago for over $300 dollars and now just going in the trash! Will remember this EVERY TIME I need something Best Buy sells.

The Shark Pet Pro is amazing. I have had a few cordless stick style vacuums, to include other major brands that seem to be about $100 more. We generally use a corded Shark vacuum for the deep cleaning on the carpet in the house. It does a great job, and I really like Shark product line. Right out of the box, I used in on a newer area rug, which is wool. To me, in the house this is the real test for the vacuum. When you look at the rollers in the bottom of this floor attachment, you can see there are no actual brushes. They are more like rubberized squeegees that REALLY pull things off the surface you are cleaning. This makes it so much easier to clean and I have not had any issues with hair winding around the roller. It also has a light on the front of it, which I don’t see on most of the other brands. This allows you to see the surface you are cleaning in greater detail, specifically all the small particles you wouldn’t normally see. The vacuum comes with the unit itself, an elongated tube for the floor attachment, the floor attachment itself, and the narrowed tip attachment for those in-between areas that are hard to get into. They claim the battery will run for 40 minutes, but that is in the “standard” mode only. I think with the first run we got about 25 minutes out of it tops. That was running through the higher options partially. As a handheld vacuum, it is large. But this is not a dust buster, it actually cleans and pulls the dirt and grime out of your carpet. I tried it in the car and it was very effective. I think it would be even better on pet hair if you take your four legged friend in the car with you. Emptying the vacuum is simple and it does not clog up like some of the other brands. This is a real work horse and I think Shark is producing some great products. This is our second Shark and to me honest I think it works just as well if not better than our full sized upright vacuum. I really love its versatility and power and I highly recommend it.

This vacuum was purchased during Covid lockdown and no way to go out to return so we tried to live with it for a while. Vacuum is inordinately loud and truly has little to no suction. Shark did finally agree to replace the motor unit yet charged me 25.00 to ship. I had thought that this would be an upgrade from my previous Bissell because it was more expensive. I should just have re-purchased the Bissell. This is labeled a “ pet” vacuum model and in no way warrants that designation. Failed to pick up hair, dry good bits or cat litter.

There may not be hair wrap, but it clogs easily. I have to clear it out about every two uses or it doesn't suction. It is annoying.

Coming from using a full-size vacuum as my primary cleaning device, and using a small hand handled dustbuster, I must say that the Shark - Rocket Cordless Vacuum really did come as a welcomed surprise. At first glance, the vacuum looks like a futuristic weapon from some sci-fi show. It looks to me pretty friggin’ cool. I thought it seemed a bit bulky and heavy. However, after handling it that impression immediately changed. The magenta color is also very nice. The vacuum features a battery indicator and plugging it is easy. I would have liked that a wall mount kit was included as I had to lay it on the side. This may not be an issue if you leave the floor attachments on the main unit, and leave it standing. The removable accessories are intuitive to use as I did not even have to look at the instructions to know how to attach them and/or remove them. These accessories click in place with a satisfactory sound and feel very secure. The first test was using the vacuum with the small attachment on “floor” setting, which can be selected from the on/off switch. It was powerful enough on the normal setting in picking up dust, dust balls, and small debris from most smooth surfaces. When I went to clean between the radiator rungs, I had to pull a trigger, which activates “boost mode”. This feels very cool, I must say. Thus, I was able to get in there and suck the webs and dust out of these hard-to-reach areas. Then, I tried it on the couch where my Chihuahua pup hangs around and on his bed. I used the included brush and in the “carpet” setting. I usually have a lot of trouble getting the hair out because it’s small and gets deep into the fabric. Although not perfect, the vacuum performed better than expected. I simply used a tape roller to get the rest out. Then, I put on the long vacuum nozzle and used it on an area rug that gets a lot of dog and human hair (I use it for calisthenics) and again, although not perfect, it did the job satisfactorily. I appreciated the LED lights when vacuuming under the furniture. The self-cleaning feature seemed to work as advertised. Emptying the dirt canister was simple and clean. Just pull on the ejector and all the nasty stuff simply drops into the garbage can. I would still recommend keeping close to the can’s opening as dust can go all over the place, especially if there is a draft or ceiling fan on. One big disappointment is that the power does not last long -especially if you engage the “boost” trigger often and/or use the carpet nozzle. I ended up cutting my cleaning session short a couple of times to charge the unit. On average, it lasted me about a half-hour based on my own way of using the unit. So, I’d say cleaning in emergencies or specific areas is the best application for this unit in my opinion. Will this replace my full-fledge corded vacuum cleaner? No. I need the power and assurance that I can get my cleaning done uninterrupted. However, it is an excellent replacement for my hand-held small dust buster unit. It is super easy to use, flexible, weights little, and it is easy to handle -even on one hand. Oh, and did I mention that it worked great on my car’s interior (although I had to do it in two parts)? In the end, I would highly recommend the Shark Rocket Cordless Vacuum for anyone that does not want a full-size cleaner, has a small(ish) apartment, own a pet, or is simply looking for a secondary, flexible, cordless vacuum device.

The same vacuum was at Bed-Bath & Beyond at same price. I did purchase it from Best Buy and then noticed Bed-Bath & Beyond has a 25% off coupon. I had Bed-Bath & Beyond hold me one just in case and I went right across the street to Best Buy. They would not match the 25% off coupon so I returned it and bought it right across the street at Bed/Bath & Beyond. Your loss

As advertising, tried to vacuum my car and had to you my other vacuum greater to clean. Had no power as shown. My other Shark had more power but clean the brushes. Have 2 cats and sometimes have my dog in. I am not happy for the product. At least that price should have another battery and wall bracket to hang for that price.

THE GOOD -Nice suction -Good for carpet and hard floors -Better than average battery life -Power-head doesn't get tangled in long hair, as advertised -Power-head has forward-facing lights -Adjustable cleaning speeds -Shortens up nicely for stairs THE BAD -A bit pricey -Suction and cleaning at power-head edges is weak -Power-head over 2.5" tall, may not fit under the bottom lip of your cabinets -Still battery-powered, still only gets 35 - 40min -No included wall mount to store the unit -No included bag or storage option for attachments -No basic T-head attachment THE DETAILS Let's start with the obvious: unless your daily/weekly cleaning regimen is VERY light, this newest Shark Rocket won't replace your regular corded upright or canister vac. You simply can't pack that much capacity into a battery without it becoming too bulky and heavy to carry it around. But as a companion vac, one that's quicker and easier to pull out for quick cleanups and minor cleaning, the Rocket does nicely. This version has a brushless power-head that's supposed to prevent pet hair, string and other things from wrapping around and tangling the head. It performs as advertised. The unit also has adjustable settings for the power-head rotational speed: one fast for beating and cleaning carpet, one slower for hard flooring where a faster brush speed is unnecessary and would scatter the dirt more than clean it. It's a nice touch to save battery. The main grip also has a trigger for "Turbo" mode, which speeds up the vacuum motor itself for extra suction. Overall cleaning performance is adequate. It didn't wow me with suction, but I wasn't disappointed either. The power-head cleans both carpet and hard flooring well. Considering I've seen a lot of competing models designed primarily for hardwood, this is a nice change. The power-head could do with better cleaning at its edge, but its not a deal breaker. For attachments, you get the aforementioned power-head, a long-nosed cranny wand, and a bristled short T-head( the bristle collar can be removed to reveal a shorter brush underneath, much like a clothing lint brush ). The power-head has three LEDs on the front and is about 10" wide, though the actual beater bar is only 8.5". It would be nice if it was a little wider. It's also over 2.5" tall, which is too thick to fit under the lip of my kitchen cabinets ( YMMV of course ). But it can mount directly to the main canister, which shortens nicely for stairs ( or even for smaller children if they want to help clean ). Sadly there's no basic T-head for general cleaning. It also doesn't come with any type of wall mount or storage for the vacuum or attachments. Overall, it's a nice enough battery vac. The 40-minute advertised runtime ( which it gets ) is better than a lot of competing units. Just be aware it only gets that 40 minutes when used on low without the power-head. With the power-head, runtime goes down to 15 - 25 minutes, depending on whether you're using it in carpet or hardwood mode. The dual cleaning ( carpet and hard flooring ) is a big plus, but the lack of attachments, attachment storage, and wall mount hardware is not something I would expect at the $300 range.

I’ve been wanting a cordless vac like this for day to day touch ups for a long time. Dyson seemed to have the market cornered for a while and now Shark has become a true contender in this category. The product was very easy to assemble - two clicks and you’re pretty much done. I went ahead and let it charge for a few hours before i tried using it, but was immediately pleased with the results. I have two cats so there’s always litter around the litter box and cat food around their bowls. After all these years they haven’t figured out how to clean up for themselves. The Shark cordless made clean up very easy, and the turbo power trigger allowed me to get the more stubborn items up without any problems or multiple passes. One area of improvement might be the collection cup, as it seems stuff gets stuck down between the cup and the filtration system so after one use my unit looked pretty dirty inside. I’m hoping i just missed how to disengage the filter so i can clean the dip, so I’m not going to let that impact my rarely given 5 star rating. This product will make your life easier around the house regardless if it’s kids, pets, or spouses you’re trying to clean up after.

    Strong Premium Cordless Vac Contender

The Shark Rocket IZ162H Pet Pro Bagless Cordless is essentially a cordless vacuum offering the power of a typical upright vac. One of the major concerns up to now is battery life. The more powerful the vacuum motor, the shorter the battery life. Shark claims 40 hours & I was able to achieve this and a little more, while using it on carpet & hardwood. There is a power switch for carpet / hardwood that extends battery life & keeps you from trying to suck up the hardwood floor (you need more power to vacuum a carpet). This switch is a very handy feature. This cordless vac features a self cleaning brush roll that solves the age old problem with dog & cat hair wrapping around the roller. It really works. The pet hair can be seen in the clear canister and not wrapped around the brush head. The suction power is amazing & rivals the performance of many full size upright vacuums. I was pleasantly surprised to see a "headlight" on the bottom of the vacuum. It really helps you locate dust, dirt & pet hair. This is a unique feature on a cordless vacuum - and a brilliant one. The only drawback I have discovered is that you have to press the release button on the tube (wand) before you empty the dirt canister. This only takes a second, so it is not a major deal. The canister is one of the largest I have seen on a cordless vac, so this offsets the inconvenience of removing the tube. CONCLUSION: THE Shark Rocket IZ162H is a great cordless vacuum & earned 5 Stars. I highly recommend it.

    Great portable option for cleaning!

I own several types of vacuums, from robot vacuums to shop vacs, to multiple “regular” vacuums. I have two dogs who love to shed their hair year-round. My regular vacuums are great but are a hassle and heavy to bring around, find a plug, and have the constraints of the power cable…all for a small area that needs to be cleaned. One my vacuums is a Shark vacuum I got years ago and its great, awesome suction power and never had any issues with it. Majority of my house is hardwood or tile floor with the exception of my bed rooms and some rugs, so once a week I need to sweep the hallway floor because of the dog hairs that accumulate. The broom is nice and quick but gets messy as hairs cling to it and its not great for reaching tight areas. This Shark portable vacuum is a great solution for tight spots and quick cleans. I gave up on my robot vacuum as that thing always gets stuck and rarely finds its way back to its base. I don’t vacuum as much as I should because of the hassle of it, but this portable Shark Rocket Pro is simple and lightweight. It has 3 attachments and an extension which I’m pretty sure is mostly used for the carpet attachment, but also can be used for the other attachments for ceilings or hard to reach spots. The battery is stated to last 40 minutes as a hand vacuum, 25 minutes on a floor, 22 minutes on carpet, and 10 minutes when in Boost mode which is basically a trigger for increasing suction power, pretty cool option to help conserve battery when you don’t need all that power. Its weird to say this, but its nice not having a super powerful hand-vacuum, not that there are probably many out there, but I can now clean my entertainment center, bathroom area, desks, computers without worry about something important getting sucked in from 2 feet away that I don’t want, yet its powerful enough to get the dust, dirt, and dog hairs that I need removed. The charge time from empty to full is about 3 hours and it has a 3 light battery indicator system. For the couple of times I’ve used it I haven’t even gone down one light. The carpet attachment is nice and seems to work fairly well considering its running off battery (there is a separate power setting when using carpet, just like most vacuums). I’m glad we’re not in the 1990’s anymore and have to deal with bags, emptying this canister is as easy as it is for its big brother. You can see how quickly it fill ups with the all-clear plastic dust bin one slide of a button to pop-it open into the trash. Overall this vacuum is great for touch-and-go spots, cleaning out the car, and for smaller jobs. I highly recommend this for anyone who has pets that shed. The attachments that come with it give you enough variety to tackle most areas efficiently. Within a week I’ve already cleaned area’s I’ve never thought to vacuum before because of its convenience now.

Ok, have had this for about three months. Easy to use. We have 6 cats. So I vacuum around two to three times a week. Shark seems to have come up with a new roller that does not wrap hair around. (good job) My problem is it clogged. If you unlock the three screws and take black piece off their are teeth at the roller part. Roller still going round but there was a huge clog. So I cleaned it out. Also front plastic glass is very dirty. Can't see in any more. Wanted to clean that. Can't find how to get to it? Once cleaned sounds better.

This is my first stick vacuum and I really like it. It's very lightweight but still very powerful. I really like that it has a carpet setting and different one for rugs. I'm using this as a second vacuum for my downstairs, which is all laminate and has an area rug. It has a max trigger for "Max" that increases the suction. I've only had to use it sparingly when something wasn't coming off the rug. It's very easily maneuverable, but it also comes apart to be a hand-vac. That is as easy as pressing a button and pulling it apart and sticking in an attachment. That's useful for corners and furniture. The battery life is as promised. I would recommend this Shark Rocket.

It was hard to find something I liked about this vacuum. Overall it’s works like a cordless but Shark really fell flat on this one. Suction is ok, not great on carpet but it works on hardwood floors. I was getting about 35 mins per charge and the battery would fully charge in 1.5hrs. Doesn’t come with a wall mount, which really sucks for storage. I found one on amazon for $30 or on Shark for $10. That could’ve easily been included with the purchase. It comes with tools which snap on/off with ease however there’s no storage for them. There’s no base for the battery to lock into while charging, you plug the ac line directly into the battery. Again this suffers from a lack of storage. The battery, tools and charging cable all sit in a very unattractive pile while the vacuum chills up against a wall. The one thing I like? The colors. Overall I would avoid this model, sure it works but the lack of storage makes it an ugly mess when not being used.
