So many issues
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product and was never able to use it because the battery wouldn’t charge. I exchanged it for the same model at Best Buy, but the second unit gave me sensor errors after just one use (half a battery). Since this device has a dedicated sensor for vacuuming along corners, the poor-quality plastic scratches easily, which ends up scratching the sensor. This causes it to malfunction and fail to detect where it’s vacuuming, resulting in constant errors. The dock doesn’t properly empty the vacuum more than half the debris remains inside the device. As for the filters, expect to clean them after every single use, along with all the sensors. This product is definitely not practical it requires more effort than it saves.

Very Versatile with Impressive Suction
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shark Power Detect is your answer for the best all in one vacuum. It's cordless, and has a run time of up to 70 minutes, based on the mode and debris encountered. It's extremely versatile. The vacuum head can be turned effortlessly at almost any angle needed without the user having to make any changes in your path. The low profile vacuum head fits under most furniture and even has an extra bend point in the middle of the stick to get deep under furniture and other objects so that manually moving everything in the room for a good clean is not necessary. The vacuum head also has lights on the front and back of the unit to easily spot debris in any area or lighting. The vacuum by itself is about 8lbs, and probably around 5lbs without the vacuum head. Making this very easy to cart around to use in different rooms, as well as vacuum your furniture and drapes. After I vacuum the floor, I just lift the unit up a little higher and pop it down on the couch. It works great at keeping the furniture clean and free of pet hair. It's just as easy to use this in the car with the different head attachments. The vacuum head has two rollers that work in unison to pull debris in and push it up into the stick. The vacuum head has a kind of comb that the front roller spins against to help keep strings and hair from winding around the roller. The comb actually works great, and it's easy to just wipe away the accumulated string and hair. There is also a set of flexible fins located on the bottom back half of the vacuum head to help keep debris from getting tossed around while vacuuming on harder surfaces. The fins also work to aid in capturing debris while vacuuming backwards. The PowerDetect has sensors inside the vacuum to detect debris. The lights on the unit (on the vacuum head and main display) turn more of a purple to indicate heavy debris and get white once no more debris is detected. There are also sensors around the vacuum head to determine hard floor surfaces vs carpets and rugs, and then adjust the rollers and suction accordingly. The side sensors on the vacuum head detect wall edges and increase the vacuuming force to help pull dirt away from the wall and edges into the unit. The suction is on par or better than most corded units. I actually pulled more debris from our rug with the IP3000 than our older corded upright. I used the corded unit first and then redid everything with the PowerDetect and was amazed that the PowerDetect still pulled additional dirt from the rug. The Dock works great and is easy to slide the vacuum into and out of. The dock comes with one Odor Neutralizer Puck that helps to keep the recirculated air smelling fresh and clean. The Puck can easily be changed as it's located on the top of the unit. When the vacuum is placed in the dock, it starts charging as well as empties the dust cup. You can turn off the auto empty feature if you don't want the noise at the time of docking the unit. The dock uses it's own vacuum suction to empty the dust cup, and then activates the Vacuum stick's suction power to shift the debris in the dust cup, and then reactivates it's own vacuum to grab the rest. The whole process is pretty quick at maybe 30 seconds and is very effective. The dock kinda compacts the debris so it makes a quick exit when it comes time to empty the unit. The dock can hold at least 10 times the debris held in the dust cup. Maintenance is pretty easy, especially as most of it is automatic, except for emptying the dock and cleaning the sponge filters. Overall, this vacuum works great and can easily be used in so many ways and locations. The best part is that it does so much on it's own with adjusting the suction power and rollers to grab as much debris as possible. It even changes the lighting colors to let you know if an area has been cleaned enough or if more vacuuming is needed. I am not only impressed with the vacuum's suction, but also the ease of use.

Big stick vac with even bigger cleaning power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loaded with features, accessories, and cleaning modes, the Shark PowerDetect Clean & Empty Vacuum does it all and does it well. Shark’s latest stick vac wants to be your go-to choice to cover your whole home, and for the most part, it does just that. Right off the bat, you’ll notice the large dock for this IP3000 Series stick vac. While functioning as both an at-rest charging spot as well as an auto-empty station for your vac, I found it to be massive and difficult to find a permanent location for it that didn’t feel obtrusive. That being said, it does its job well and its size allows for storage of its many components. This cordless stick vacuum comes packed with every possible accessory you will need, with different nozzle types for every type of floor, wall, or ceiling surface. The handheld itself is a bit heavier than I expected for a stick vac. It is fairly large (mostly due to the size of its dirt compartment) with a rubberized grip for comfort while in use. It connects to a MultiFlex Wand for your main vacuum usage. This extension features a collapsible tube which allows it to fold down to get to hard to reach areas, something I found to be both an ingenious and an uneven feature. While it works in practice, I didn't really like having to bend down to various angles in order to utilize the feature. It is nice to have the option I suppose. Each accessory clicks into place and can be removed just as easily with a push of a button. And just as easy is emptying the bin automatically on the dock - simply securing the vacuum in place triggers the dock to begin emptying the vac’s contents into its dust bin. This lessens the need to constantly empty your vac into a trash can and thus shortens the task of cleaning overall. While this function is extremely loud, you do have the option to shut off the automatic dirt evacuation to significantly reduce the noise. The IP3000 handheld features a large display and sensible button placement that doesn’t get in the way during a cleaning session. It runs three different cleaning modes that can be manually triggered or automatically detected based on the surface environment the vacuum senses. These modes will directly affect the longevity of the vacuum battery; its display clearly indicates the battery charging information in use and on its charging stand, though I never had to deal with any low battery issues at all, even during whole-house cleaning sessions. With all the bells and whistles, highs and lows of this vac, what stands out the most and what you really care about is whether or not it does a good job picking up dirt. I can happily attest: the Shark PowerDetect is dirt’s bane. The suction power on the this thing grabs any and all dirt in its way. It intuitively switches modes when approaching walls, corners, and different surfaces. I especially appreciate how well it grabs dirt along the edges of wall trims. While most vacuums feel like they take several tries to pick up dirt near walls and edges, the IP3000 Series vacuum really does an amazing job sucking up the edge dirt and grime on the first pass-through. This standout performance puts the Shark PowerDetect Clean & Empty Vacuum on par with some of the more expensive vacuums in the market. While a little on the heavy side for a stick vac with a larger than usual footprint in your house, the Shark PowerDetect Clean & Empty vacuum overcomes these few shortcomings as a feature-filled, accessory-loaded product that provides a powerful, intuitive cleaning experience. If you have the room for it, this vacuum will definitely clean it.

Dont buy a Shark!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this vacuum in October 2024. We are 8 months in to owning it and it stopped working. Its less than a year old. We contacted Shark and they are sending a part, but we have to pay the shipping. It comes woth a 5 year parts and labor warranty. Nowhere in the warranty does it state that we would have to pay for shipping and they are saying we have to fix it ourselves. What happened to standing behind your product? Definitely do not recommend purchasing any shark product.

sucks it doesn't suck
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awful. The suction changes based on what it thinks the dirt situation is and it is awful. Horrible suction, it changes speeds and suction power up and down and it needs to just run at full speed or at least have settings to choose full speed. Wont pick up anything along baseboards and is just overall not good.

Worthless vacuum - turns off constantly - hate it

A Gamer Changer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not that cleaning or vacuuming is a game, but this Shark PowerDetect almost makes vacuuming fun. I wasn't really in the market for a new stick vac, but this one sounded intriguing enough that I wanted to give it a try. My first impression... Wow!!! This stick vac is the most powerful vacuum I've owned so far. I'm truly amazed. It seems to be even more powerful than my full-size, corded vacuum. For me, the true test is vacuuming our low pile area rugs. We have 2 dogs, one being a Golden Retriever. With his long hair, it's particularly tough vacuuming up all his hair from these rugs. Not only did the Shark vacuum up all the hair, it even made the carpet fibers stand up again. The vacuum made our area rugs looks almost like new again. Not even our full-size, corded vacuum can do this. Truly a game changer. We also have wood flooring throughout our house and the Shark was able to very easily go from rugs to flooring, adjusting the brush and suction power accordingly. Even in certain areas of the wood flooring where there were crumbs or dog hair, the Shark would detect the dirtier area and increase the suction power on its own. I even tried out the vacuum in our bedrooms where we have regular carpet. It was able to handle it with ease, even making the vacuum patterns in the carpet. The flex/folding wand made it very easy to vacuum under the bed without having to get down on the floor. Last cool feature is the auto-empty charging base. This is my first time having a vacuum that has its own auto-emptying feature and I think I will never go without this ever again. It's so cool to be able to place the vacuum on the charging dock and have it clean itself. It's so nice to keep all that dust and hair contained, without having to empty the vacuum every time. That being said, you still will need to occasionally clean the filters yourself. They are very easy to get to and easy to clean. There are a couple features that present a bit of a challenge. The vacuum has reverse cleaning feature - it will clean every push and pull of the vacuum. When I was vacuuming our area rugs, it was a challenge to pull the vacuum back toward me. The vacuum glided with regular effort when I pushed it, but pulling it back was very difficult. I was finally able to make it work by letting up on the amount of pressure I used to glide it back toward me. The other thing about this Shark vacuum is that it's a bit larger and heavier, than other similar stick vacs, to use as a handheld vacuum. Not a huge deal, but just something I noticed when I was using the crevice too. Overall, I definitely recommend this Shark PowerDetect Stick Vac. It's a little on the expensive side, but I would say it's worth the cost.
