    Don't buy SHARK

The vacuum is fine. My low rating is more about how Shark does business. They do NOT want you repair these things at all. I swept up the corner of a rubber-backed rug, and it messed up the belt. I had to buy two types of security torx bits and it took me 2 hours to find all 18 screws, one of which is hidden under the logo on the power head. ALL THE REPLACE THE DARN BELT. This should be an easily accessible repair! And despite finally succeeding, it's not worked exactly the same since. When I first bought it, it pulled like a runaway horse. I thought it was self propelled. I've since learned this is a DESIGN FLAW. It's not self propelled. It's an artifact of the how the brushes work. Since repairing the belt, it doesn't pull quite as hard, and it doesn't pick up hair quite a well. Maybe 5-10% reduction. I've since spoken to several vacuum repair guys and they all say to stay away from SHARK. They've gone out of their way to make sure the customer and even repair professionals will find it difficult to do militance or repairs. I have a Filter Queen that's over 50 years old. It has a total of 6 screws, all of them visible and ANYONE can maintain and repair it. In a time when we KNOW that electronic waste is an environmental issue, Shark should do better. They're hoping you'll just buy a new one.

Bought this as a replacement for another Shark vacuum we had for over 10 years. This is one of the best vacuums on the market. We have carpet, hardwood and rugs. It works great on all three. Easy handling. Love the lift away feature. Worth every penny.

I love this vacuum cleaner!! The light is helpful and the suction is good. It’s nice to be able to take it off the base and move around. The stair attachment works well. Wish the hose was a little longer.

We love this product so far. The front roller does an amazing job of dusting the floor. It's an easy clean each time. This product is a breeze to disassemble when cleaning stairs or hard to reach places. Highly recommend!

    Reliability Issue

We have always had a terrific experience with shark vacuums. This was a replacement for our old navigator lift-away which did an amazing job until the cord came loose from the unit. When we first got this version as a replacement, we were blown away by the suction power and cleaning. WOW! It was amazing-just awesome. However, after less than 3 months of use, the front brush roller stopped working. Now it pushes stuff around and requires you go over things again and again to pick-up. There is no easy fix or cheap replacement. We have had difficulty getting to shark support (email?) and looks like we will need to purchase a whole new head to address the issue (1/4 cost of new unit). Not sure if we got a lemon or if it is a design issue (other have reported the same problems), but this has been a big hassle and disappointment.

I searched and searched and searched. One day i finally bit the bullet and came on to order this.. only to find I had added it to my cart already three times. MEANT TO BE. The power and suction of this vacuum is AMAZING. We have 3 animals including a long haired cat and large dog. The air feels cleaner after using this just one time. You will be amazed at the amount of dander it picks up. The lift away option is an added bonus, especially since the vacuum is alittle heavy. The vacuum does pull you around alittle due to the suction which isnt even an issue to me. COULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM ENOUGH.

We have only had this vacuum a few weeks now. I wish I could be more helpful on how reliable it will be, but I cannot. We have been using Hoover Windtunnel bagged vacuums for a long time. We had to constantly cut out all the long hair and replace the belts that woudl get stretched out as a result of all the hair getting stuck. So I decided to try this Shark, which has the self-cleaning brushroll, and many easily removed and replaced parts. I am really enjoying this vacuum. It has great suction and no hair tangles to speak of. I love that I can lift off the tank and move around easier, and to reach difficult places. The tools do fall off just like every other vacuum cleaner I have owned, and I already managed to suck the cord up into the vacuum despite being extra careful and the corn has a worn patch on it now. I think cords need to be made to withstand the accidental vacuuming over them. Other than that, I am pleased.

I love this vacuum .. this is my 3rd shark,. It probably cleans the best. My only complaint is that I can’t vacuum my rugs without them getting sucked up in it, even when I turn the suction down, or put on wood floor. I wish the cord was a little longer too. But that’s minor. It’s a great vacuum!!

So far, this is the best vacuum I have ever had. It is light, easy to move, and clean so well. I love how easily it fits under furniture too. I can't think of anything that would make it better unless it would use itself!

This light weight but strong vacuum exceeds my expectations in every way. I have a three story home and carrying this up all those stairs is no problem at all. It keeps up with the 3 cats we have with regard to shedding. I love this vacuum!!

Lasted just long enough for the limited warranty to end! The rotator brush quit rotating. Tried to open it to replace the belt, as I have done with multiple vacuums in the past, can’t get it open. We had to buy specific adapters to fit the screws. Finally got it open and the belt is fine. The dang thing just quit working. I read Shark vacuums are made to throw away when they quit working. They’re that cheap. Oh well. Don’t waste your money on an expensive one, just buy the cheapest shark you can find because when it breaks, it gets thrown away. It worked very well while it was operational. Now we can use the canister part for the garage but will have to buy a new upright for our rugs.

This has been a blessing for my wife. She always seems to smile when using it, whether or carpet or on hardwood floors. She comments on the ease of use, the effectiveness by which it picks up not only stuff but dog hairs, too.
