Vacuums are like going to the dentist - something you need to do every once in a while but you really don't want to - ok maybe a little more with the vacuuming but you get the point. No one ever wants to spend money on a vacuum and you want to get the most out of the purchase. I have owned many vacuums in my day and hands down, this vacuum performs just as good if not better than some twice as much. Pros - lightweight, ridiculously good suction and almost feels self propelled due to the suction, easy to use the lift away component, has all the necessary attachments, can be used on any floor surface and good for pet hair. Cons - would like a spot on the vacuum to put all the attachments, found that switching from different floor types takes some getting used to, color is rather bland - but that is subjective. Overall - Ultimately this is a vacuum and it performs in a stellar fashion for its designed purpose. You will be hard-pressed to find another that performs better at this price or even one twice its price. I would highly recommend this product.

I've used Shark vacuums in the past and was excited to get this one. It's ok. It feel more plastic and less well made than my older vacuums and although it picks up a lot I can still see some dog hair on the rug when I finish. If I vacuum again with my Dyson I can pick up much more dirt.

Used it once, while it was easy to push forward, pulling it back was very difficult. Went to use a second time and roller brush wouldnt spin. Took it apart, put it back together and still would not work. No way to fit it back into the box, so i will end up driving it about 45 minutes to the nearest store.

I finally had the opportunity to use my new Shark today and I was beyond impressed. When compared to my “full size” this thing is an absolute powerhouse. One thing that immediately made an impression is how easy it went together and was ready for use. It took two minutes and no instructions, though great ones are provided right in the top of the box as you are getting the contents out. Features wise, it’s packed. The wand comes out effortlessly and is great for picking up things in places you can’t roll over. Especially when combined with the lift off functionality. The brush roll is self cleaning thanks to this interesting extra roller at the front and as someone with pets this is a huge win. The dust cup is rather large and the unit pivots in a way my other one doesn’t - makes getting that last couple inches just beyond the bed frame or low table. I absolutely recommend this product!

Had for about 5 months and the belt broke. Took it to a vacuum repair shop and they said they couldn’t fix it! Needless to say I’m not impressed with my purchase.

Garbage don’t waste your money. I bought this a year ago and already it’s broken. I’ve broken three of these over the years. It’s honestly disposable trash so if you are OK spending $300 on this knowing you will need to buy another one in a year, buy it!

MAJOR mistake on not including a lever for adjusting for carpet height. My carpet is only medium pile, yet vacuum would not work...kept stopping. And it was very hard to move across carpet. Worked well on hard floor or a very dense throw rug w no pile. Otherwise, a very good product. I might buy again if this feature is included, but only at a lower price. Best Buy very good about return.

Currently I use a cordless Dyson which does a good job but I’ll take the cord for this. A couple thoughts are that it is powerful, it has no issue going over a shag rug. When picking up Cheerios or cat food other vacuums kick a lot out the back where as this one picks it right up, no kicking items at your feet. The fact that the main unit detaches is great for cleaning furniture and blinds. The attachments that are included are everything you need, no need to have buy them like Dyson. The led lights on the front is a really nice feature for seeing in dark areas. Really nice vacuum and I’m so glad I tried it. I was skeptical but I love it.

It's not as user friendly as I thought it would be. Due to its design when using it up right it will tilt and hit the floor or hit you.

I’ll start by saying we have a Rough Collie, a shedding Aussie, a Boxer and a Dalmatian so the vacuum was used a lot. I bought it because it said hair wouldn’t get caught around the roller. It did not do the job. I paid over $100 more for this one than the replacement I bought 7 months later. I was very disappointed in Shark.

I am impressed with the Shark Rotator Lift-Away vacuum cleaner. It was very easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to find as they were printed on the box lid. I have a built in vacuum system as well as a battery-operated vacuum and the Shark out performed both of them. To test it, I vacuumed the house with my old vacuum and then went over it again with the Shark. I was amazed at what it picked up that other 2 left behind. I don’t have any pets, but I do have a husband with long hair that constantly gets wound around the brushes. The manufacturer states that the Shark has a self cleaning brushroll so there is no hair wrap. I found this to be accurate. There was a lot of hair in the discard container, but none wrapped around the brushes. I liked that the accessory tools fit on the unit itself so I didn’t have to install a rack to hold them. It has one switch to select between hard floor and carpet and another to select minimum or maximum suction. This vacuum truly has a lot of suction. On hard floor/maximum setting it will suck up a floor rug. It is heavy. When vacuuming, the weight isn’t noticeable because it moves like a self-propelled lawn mower. But it was hard to lift it over the cord because the floor nozzle flops down. The cord is annoying but I haven't found a cordless alternative that works as well or has sufficient battery life. The only thing I would change is the position of the on-off switch. It’s incorporated into the surface switch where I have to bend over to reach it. More accessible would be on the handle with the MIN/MAX switch.

Good at first, broken after six months

Worked really well at first, and the no-hair tangling feature is the real deal. BUT after six months, it is broken. The motor is running loud, the suction is minimal, and now we need warranty support after just half a year of residential use, every other week. VERY disappointed with this particular Shark, as our previous one lasted nearly five years.
