don't like it at all. I was soo excited to get it. I mean it works, but its very heavy and clunky. Yea you can lift it off but the on/off button really needs to be on the handle not on the canister. It's really not intuitive. I'm like 2 weeks outside the return window and I'm not happy. FYI - shark has a 5 year warranty and I got the bestbuy warranty for 5 years for like $90 for no reason apparently. I'm soooo not happy. Go with shark but get the Duo Stick Vaccum.

I've been using this vacuum for a while now and I must say I'm wholly impressed. I've had Dysons before and a couple of different other Sharks for the past few years so I have a good frame of reference. Suction : Excellent suction on this baby. On par with just about any other vacuum I've owned. I even used it to clean out the lint trap of my clothes dryer and it got every last spec. Attachments : The usual selection from Shark. I really like that the bristles snap off of the brush attachment. PowerFins : An interesting concept. I personally didn't notice much difference because of them, but your milage may vary. Form factor : This is where this unit shines. My ideal vacuum is somewhere between a stick vacuum and a standard upright and this does that extremely well. I love being able to detach the canister. It affords a level of freedom and flexibility while maintaining power. It's the absolute sweet spot for me. Final verdict : Does everything I want form a vacuum and does it well. Easily 5 stars.

It is not good for people with long hair or people with dogs. It has to be cleaned all the time. It is constantly tangled. I even had to replace the motor. I have just had it for two years and now the attachment has broken. I have to push the vacuum by the canister because the attachment is broken and won’t stay in. My last shark lasted 6 years. This is so disappointing.

Nothing but problems, it was great at first, not a big enough dust collector for animals. Clogs so easily that have to take it apart pretty much every time I use it even though I clean the filters regularly and don’t try to use it on anything other than fur. Not worth the price

I have a shark stick vac which is nice for small cleaning jobs, but it's limited to carpet only. Our regular vacuum was very nice when it was released back in the early days of "premium" vacs, but it's getting pretty long in the tooth. This vac has all the features I was looking for so I gave it a shot. I am very impressed. In the box you get the vacuum motor, hose/handle, brush roller (bottom piece), and accessories (pet hair removal tool, crevice tool, and brush/dust tool). Assembly is very easy, everything just snaps together. Within five minutes of opening the box I was using the vacuum and it is great. I love how modular this design is. The detachable handle connects to your accessories to use the included tools or to just hit hard to reach places. The vacuum itself swivels which makes navigating around chair legs very easy. Even with it's relatively large size I can drop the vacuum almost parallel to the floor to get deep under beds and other furniture. The power switch is located on the top of the motor which I love. For years now manufacturers, including shark, have been putting the power button into the handle, which means I'm always accidentally powering it on/off while running the unit. No worries here. The power button also functions as the selector for hard floors/carpeting. With my older vac this was "automatic", but by comparison it seems like the cleaning was just much worse on that one. Having manual control is very nice and ensures that you're never accidentally tearing up your hard wood floors. The vac also comes with two user cleanable and replaceable filters. The main filter has to be cleaned once a month, the hepa filter once a year I believe. They're both easily accessible and easy to reinstall. Emptying the canister is also super simple. As with everything on this vacuum pushing a button allows you to remove the canister for emptying and it snaps back into place. You can also detach the motor from the brush rollers to carry the vac to hard to clean places like stairs. Very nice. Some other thoughts. This thing sucks! In a good way. The suction is so powerful on this unit that it actually pulls itself forward, almost in a self-propelled fashion. If you're not accustomed to it it'll take some time to adjust how you operate the vacuum. If you try to push/pull without letting the vacuum do the work for you you'll end up fighting it. This is not only difficult, but quickly becomes tiring. I really like the double brush rollers on this. One is soft and plush for hard surfaces and the other is a silicone or something? that catches hair and fibers and somehow prevents them from getting tangled. Time will tell how effective this design is, but the included literature promises that you won't have to untangle the brush roller. So far so good. Final thoughts. I can't really convey how impressive the performance of this vacuum is. We have carpeted bedrooms and a dog, which together conspire to cover the entire world in dust, but this vac picks up SO MUCH MORE than our other model. I had run our old vacuum in the bedrooms the day before this arrived, and couldn't wait to test this out so I vacuumed again. I was shocked at how much dirt, dust, and pet hair this thing picked up. There's no way that accumulated in less than 24 hours, this vac just performs so much better. I've hit the bedrooms another handful of times since that first day and there's a noticeable decrease in dust accumulation on surfaces. I'm just really impressed. There are certainly more expensive and flashy looking vacuums on the market, but this one should not be overlooked. It's super versatile and has amazing performance. I've never been happier with a vacuum.

Dyson Ball Animal 3 killer. As powerful and easier

Had two, now three dogs and our Dyson Ball Animal 3 had served us well. It was the best corded upright vacuum we had owned but needed to be replaced. I did a ton of research on corded and cordless options. We need to clean up high, floors and do stairs. Cordless wand options were weak suction-wise with poor battery life so I chose the upright. I brought home a brand new Dyson and this Shark. Dyson is way heavier and just more difficult to manage. The shark is way easier to stand up right and walk away from. The lift away feature makes it much easier to use on stairs and up high. The LED light and dual clean action yield flawless results on our hard wood floors. The narrower head and arm which you can drop to the floor allow access underneath and around furniture. None of these features are included with the dyson. The Sharks hand held stair/furniture tool puts Dyson's to shame. And this vacuum has more than enough suction. The only drawback is the crevice tool with the brush head is not included.

Great sweeper with many different uses

I’ve been using an older model Shark Lift-Away Duo for a couple of years. A couple of noticeable improvements were evident right away. First the brush head is wider by an inch or two which does not seem like much but when sweeping a large area, the extra coverage adds up as you go. Second, the hose is much easier to detach from the wand, as is the base from the nozzle. The sweeper maneuvers easily and lies flat to get under things, however, the main unit is kind-of thick which does limit the ability to get under beds that might be low to the ground. Suction is excellent on carpets, as well as, on bare floors and through hose with attachments. It is also very handy to detach from the nozzle and carry around to dust or vacuum other areas where a nozzle is not required. Dust cup is easy to remove and empty. Haven’t had to clean any of the filters yet but from the looks of it they seem super easy to remove and clean. The soft roller also requires periodic cleaning so I removed it just to see how it comes off and it is very simple as well. The brush roll is stated to be self cleaning and after several uses I do not see any hair or other material wrapped around it so I assume that it is working as designed. This sweeper also came with a self-cleaning pet power brush. My dog is a small non shedding breed so that use case doesn’t apply as much to me, however, I did use it to sweep stairs carpeting and it worked quite well. Only gripe with it is there is no where to store it on the main unit, so you have to store it separately. Overall, this is a great sweeper that is built well and works well for a number or different uses.

I have a German Shepherd and their nick name is German Shedders. She is black and my carpet gets saturated after a few days with her hair. I’m happy to report that this Shark vacuum is exactly what I needed. I don’t have hardwood floors but this vacuum has a hard floor switch in case that is what you need. Flip the switch all the way back and you have found your carpet setting. When I first turned this on it has enough power in the front pet brush that it acts like a self propelled vacuum. I was impressed to say the least. The gold accents on this vacuum spell premium, Gives it a bit of class if you will. It’s easy to clean with the removable container that easily dumps into your garbage. It comes with 3 attachments, 1 of which doesn’t attach to the vacuum so its just laying there, I found that a bit frustrating. I would like to have seen a place for all 3 attachments to be stored on the vacuum itself instead of just 2 of them. Oh well. There is a removable wand that clicks and un-clicks flawlessly that will allow the use of the attachments. One of which is mechanical, and has a rotating brush so you can easily clean the stairs, or a piece of furniture. The power cord is plenty long so there will be minimal outlet switching. This is my 2nd shark vacuum and I wouldn’t purchase any other brand if I’m being honest. This thing really picks up the hair and dirt. If you have animals that shed excessively then I would say this is what you want 100%.

    Best pet hair vacuum!

This is the BEST vacuum for getting rid of all the pet hair in your home! I have 2 dogs, one of which is jet black and sheds a ton. Her hair builds up in corners and along the baseboards, and if I wait more than a couple days to vacuum the amount of hair has always caused other vacuums to clog. Not this one!! I was so thrilled when I started cleaning my son's room, where our dog sleeps, and I didn't have to stop to clear clogs or even empty the canister. The attachments made it easy to clean all the cracks and corners. We have an area rug out in the living room which has this fantastic design that hides the dog hair very well; when I ran the vacuum over it a couple times it picked up way more hair than I thought it would. I love that the canister comes apart from the base, because that made cleaning out my car so easy. My room tends to bog down my other vacuum because I have long hair that also sheds everywhere, but this one has the dual brush rolls that totally prevent tangling. Never had to stop, didn't have to turn it over to dig hair clumps out with a screwdriver, I was a happy camper! I love the fact that it is self propelled too, it takes so little effort to clean up with a quickness. I even use this to clean my tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, the attachments make it easy to get behind the toilet and underneath the cabinets, and then I can just quick mop and I'm done. I highly recommend this vacuum if you have pets, or even if you don't have pets and you just want an easy way to clean up fast.

    Golden Retreiver tested

Having a Golden Retriever puts any vacuum to the test. I have had many vacuums and many have failed the test. What caught my eye on this model was the self cleaning brushroll and the self cleaning pet power brush. Most vacuums I have had in the past get jammed up with all the pet hair in the main rollers. This design claims to avoid this clogging and so far so good. I have filled four canisters of hair so far and the brushes are perfect. Another nice feature on this Shark model is the lift away canister. Normally an upright will fall over every time you try and use the extended wand. Here you just lift the canister off the lower brushroll and go about your business. Its light and very easy to carry as you clean without having to lug around the whole vacuum. You have the short handle and a longer wand with the normal attachments. However, as with every other vacuum I have owned, there are not enough placeholders for more than 2 attachments. There are bright LED lights on the brushroll so its easy to see what you are doing. Believe it or not I have had vacuums that had no lights. The edge cleaning of the brushroll is very effective and the articulating motion of the handle makes for easy maneuvering around corners and under tables. The canister opens on top and bottom for easy cleaning and there are several filters ( motor and HEPA ) that need attention every so often, but they can all be washed so no need for costly replacements. There is also a soft roller in the brushroll that can be washed if needed.

This Shark cleaner is exceptional on hard floors. Traditional sweeping with a broom takes so much time and work but this vacuum saves the day! The lift-away feature makes cleaning hard to reach places possible and it includes few hose attachments. I am very surprised to see that the rollers didn't get tangled up with hair. This Shark vacuum cleaner means no more sweeping for the entire house!

It came pretty much ready to go out of the box. The unit is not real heavy so it nice to use. The cord is long. I’ve used vacuums in the past that had short cords which were a pain. It has nice suction and picks up nicely. I have 5 animals so pet hair is an issue in my house. It really cleaned the furniture and removed the hair. Nice set of attachments. Highly recommend.
