We have 17 dogs 3 cats and 2 kids. Got this vacuum as a gift to try to tame the constant mess, particularly without destroying the vacuums parts constantly. It sucks up any and all dirt (maybe with several passes, but thats ok.) But the way the canister and filter system work, a significant amount of regular DIRT (drug in by the dogs paws) bypasses the canister where it hits the 2 washable filters. Those are clogged up within minutes of cleaning up after a muddy day. If those filters get too clogged, dirt sucks into the motor, then blows out into the HEPA filter. While this is how it’s designed to keep dirty air from blowing out, I’ve owned this exactly 2 months and washed the filters countless times already. Despite this care though, the motor has already developed a whine from stress. Something about the design really needs redone to keep more dirt in the cup than trying to blow through the filters. I’m already going to have to see about getting it repaired.

I had high hopes for this vacuum. I got a really good deal on it. Easy to put together. However, the suction went crazy when it went across a carpet. I also could not easily get the handle to go backwards. Either my feet were too small or not enough weight on it, but every time I tried to put the handle back, I almost fell. I wanted to love it so I kept it for a while. The suction was great. I loved the lights. I decided that if I had to think about whether I could handle the vacuum, it probably wasn't a good fit. My prior vacuum was a hoover self propelled wind tunnel. I am sad that I felt I need to return it. Maybe use older women to help test the products.

I purchased approximately 18 months ago. We used the vacuum for about 6 months when the rotating head motor stopped working. It was not covered by the warranty. I had to pay $150.00 for a new head. Now, last week the suction motor stopped working. It is also not covered by the warranty. None of the mechanical parts are covered red by the warranty. I live in a 1500 square foot home with 2 carpeted bedrooms, the carpet is low pile Berber carpet. The rest of the home hardwood floors. We have no pets and 1 kid. We always take our shoes off when entering the home. This is a very clean home. Shark and Best Buy do not want to honor their product, just sell extended warranties.

I purchased this as a gift. But it was the wrong one. The review is for the ease of buying this online, the quick delivery and the excellent customer service when I returned it to the store (Mission Valley, San Diego). I’m now shopping for the correct one.

Just bought this item and so far it works great. Just remember to clean filters.

I have own several Shark vacuum cleaners, this one Very heavy and doesn't do a very good job. Wouldn't recommend. Junk

Came with the wrong pet hair brush. It came with the regular one that doesnt have a non-hair wrap brush.

I was disappointed I could not have the Brushroll and the handle together so I could sweep under the bed!!!
