Old vacuum broke and needed something new and lightweight; the shark seems to do the trick.

Product was described on website and showed pictures of powered brush hand attachment for doing stairs and furniture. Note - box does not include this $60 optional item which must be bought from Shark. Misleading and returned to Best Buy.

The Shark Rotator is excellent as an upright, in particular the have added 4 very bright LED lights on the power head. You can actually see things on the floor now. The good: Light and easy to maneuver Detaches from power head into light flexible tank style. Easy to change filter Easy to empty canister Excellent results on carpet, only average on bare floors. You can actually feel the power head pulling the vacuum Easy access roller for cleaning. The Bad: Small capacity canister, messy to empty because it has small crevices. Easily solved if you empty into a trash container outside. Mediocre as a tank, suction on wand doesn't seem to match power head. The pros as an upright make this an excellent choice but if you are looking for a high performance bare floor vacuum it won't fit the bill. Even though there are some short comings, the pros make this a great buy.

Nearly two years to the day after our gasing this vacuum, the roller brush stopped working. I went through all the troubleshooting forums, to no avail. The indicator light wasn't on at all, which indicates that it's set to hardwood floor. But the switch was on carpet. I moved it back and forth, to no avail. I checked all the connectors and hoses, and it was all correct. We cleaned it and emptied it religiously. We don't have pets. Granted, I got this on sale, but I would have been to keep off had I paid full price only to get just a touch more use than the warranty covered. Actually, I still sorta am ticked, but not enough to cause a scene.

The vacuum comes in multiple pieces out of the box, but it is very easy to assemble. When I took it out of the box, I wasn't expecting such a small vacuum, and thought that it wasn't going to be very powerful. I was blown away when I gave it a try. This vacuum immediately picked up debris that my older vacuum was leaving behind, and I had just vacuumed earlier in the day. It is also very lightweight and easy to maneuver. It comes with three attachments, but there is only space for two on the vacuum itself, so you will have to find a place to keep the third accessory, which is kind of a letdown. Another thing that I like about this vacuum are the dual LED light in the front. They make it easier to spot missed debris. The fact that it's compact makes it very easy for storage. I would highly recommend this vacuum to anyone!

It didn't meet my needs. I have many kinds of carpet and wood floors. I needed a vacuum that will go on high pile carpet and not brush up the fibers off my carpet.

Purchased this great vacuum off of previous reviews. Two dogs and two girls with long hair killed the motor in 5 months time. Very disappointed.

Do not recommend for hardwood floors even though this one has a specific attachment for them it still doesn't pick up. It only picks up on carpet.

Received this and immediately put it together to test it out. I am floored by how well the suction works on this unit compared to more expensive options out there. Not only does it clean well it's a cinch to empty out the canister and simple to transition from upright to lift away. It is fairly light and glides effortlessly across your floor surfaces. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a quality vacuum for a better price.

Honestly at first I was not pleased at ALL. Straight out of the package there were a lot of pieces and it took me a little second to adjust. Call me old fashioned I'm used to vacuums just coming out of the box pretty much assembled. It was frustrating and for someone in there early 20's and pretty savvy with putting things together it was a little overwhelming. Now after the fiasco that was the unboxing it is GREAT! I turned it on and it literally took off I was not used to having a vacuum with that much suction power! It feels like you're one with the floor (Cheesy I know but that was a great way to describe it) it picks up everything in site with one sweep. I love the light on the front so you can see exactly what you're doing. The vacuum is very lightweight but after vacuuming for a little and I guess the super suction power it made my arm hurt so I guess that will take getting used to. Only other downside was there is not official button to put your foot on to make the vacuum go down so you can begin to use it. There's a picture of a foot and once you tap somewhere around there it may or may not go down. It wasn't very fluid. I did try it out on the hard floor just as amazing suction on that surface as well. Overall this is an amazing vacuum a couple of steps aren't really user friendly maybe it was just me but I had my mother try as well same issue. Cleanup was easy just press a button and dump. It is with the buy!!
