They do aa good job of cleaning. This vacuum step button to lower the handle takes kept a bit of maneuvering of your foot to work and should be much easier. Older models let you separate the motor with the handle giving them more flexibility to clean things like stairs, This model does not do that, but for my needs the long handle is good enough. Though not perfect as the older model, I am still satisfied with it.

No issues. I don’t have any carpet though, I could not comment on how it is on the carpet. I’m sure it is just as good.
