Not for short, thick hair

It's rather clunky and just doesn't twist in thick hair very well at all. My hair is shoulder length but even if it was longer, I dont think the dry styling would work just because you can't get thick hair to make enough contact with the ceramic plates that are only on the edges. I did not use the blow dry feature but it was very loud.

Upgrade from the revlon

It’s not too hot and it smooths the hair so much better. The dry hair setting really locks it all in. Love it!!

I like it better than a hair dryer and she seems to as well. She states it's not a replacement for her flat iron but overall we like the product.

The other issue is the size of the barrel, so it's hard to get to your roots and doesn't add much volume.
