The item doesn’t work properly and Best Buy didn’t want to return it. Apparently I have to pay 50.00 a month to have a better return policy.Beat buy is a rip off totally not worth it.

Does NOT work well on curly hair. I had high hopes. I have the Shark Flex styler that I love but needed to replace my revlon wand. I tried this and it just did not straighten my hair at all. I returned to the store:

Being a 2in1 device (hair dryer and styler) there are some benefits to using the Shark Smooth Style Heated Comb. As long as your hair is not completely wet you can at the same dry your hair when you styling it. There are 2 operating settings one for dry hair (heat with no airflow), and the other being wet mode (heat with airflow to help dry your hair). For heat settings, you can select from Low, Medium, and Hot. For the most part, it’s been set to medium setting. This thing does get loud, especially in wet hair mode. The bristles are aligned in a way that allows you to strictly use the larger or small ones depending on how you’re holding the device. There is some heft to it so highly recommend using the tip with your other hand to help with stability and comfort-ability. Overall it’s a good product that does a good of job of drying your hair while you style it. There are some small quirks like the weight of the product might be an issue, and the noise level can become bothersome too. But everything else does well including the retail price.

I have only had this dryer for a little over a month and the dryer part stopped working and its not returnable. Do not recommend.

Not for girls with naturally straight hair. Does nothing special that a straightener cannot!

This was the first comb straightener I have ever used, and I would say that it was good, but not great. Time is a big factor for me, and I noticed it took more time for me to use this product than my usual straightening iron. That being said, this seemed to be much healthier for my hair than cranking my iron up to 450 degrees and burning my hair. For that alone, I will continue to use this product. I just have to adjust my schedule accordingly. My hair did seem smoother and shinier using this product than my standard iron. When you use it on wet hair, your hair has to already be seventy-five percent dry beforehand. You cannot use this on "wet" hair, more like damp hair. I do not like to use heat products on my hair when its damp so I already was not much of a fan of the idea, but I will say that the lower heat setting did just fine. The roots were a little difficult to get to but the majority of my hair was done well. Like I said before, this product just takes a little more time than what I'm accustomed to. I have to account for that in the mornings. Overall if you are looking for a healthier alternative to a flat iron, I think this is the way to go. I didn't burn my hair using this. It was easy to understand how to use it. The instructions were clear.

After having another well-known brand flatiron for years, it was time for my wife to get something new. She has constantly been telling me that her old flat-iron was not working as well. The opportunity came up to try the the Shark - SmoothStyle Heated Comb, so I went for it. Needless to say, my wife was extremely happy after giving her the new Shark - SmoothStyle Heated Comb. She had the opportunity to use her new heated comb over the weekend and she was extremely happy with it. From what she tells me, the Shark - SmoothStyle Heated Comb does a great job at straightening her hair right away. It flowed smoothly through her hair and was comfortable to handle. Unlike her older flatiron, the Shark - SmoothStyle Heated Comb was quick to smoothen her hair in less passes. She has different temperature options/settings. Her hair really did look and feel smoother, and it really did take much less time for her to get ready. She usually took a long time to do her hair, which is a pain haha. I'm really glad that she has the new Shark - SmoothStyle Heated Comb. Saves SO MUC time. My wife highly recommends the Shark - SmoothStyle Heated Comb.

This review is based on thick shoulder length hair. Freshlywashed hair - it is important that you towel dry any excess water and put in any hair protectant in your hair and comb thoroughly. It's best to section your hair in smaller sections when using. This allows you to fully dry and style your hair in 15-20 minutes. First set to use on fully wet hair. Then begin using until hair is dried. Once dried, you will want to change to the last setting that heats up the pink comb between the brush. The light right under the brush will flash yellow and then change to green when ready to use. Once ready begin using in the same manner as you did when drying your hair. You will immediately see your hair begin to style flawlessly. Little to no frizz, shiny, soft and looks like you just got back from the salon. Once you style your hair in sections, you can do another pass through the entirety of your hair for any strays you may have missed. From start to finish, 20 minutes. Remember this was used on thick, shoulder length hair. We also used this on our daughter who has afro coarse hair. I was skeptical because every similar product we previously used was a failure. The hair did not dry evenly which prompted the use of a blow dryer and flat iron. Not only did this product work, her hair came out beautifully. We followed the same as far as sectioning to smaller pieces and styled. Hair looked and felt soft, shiny, little to no frizz and looked just like we left the salon. We were able to pick her hair up in a ponytail and looked just as beautiful . Best part - took just under 45 minutes to style without compromising the integrity of her hair. A huge time saving for us. I would highly recommend this product for use on all hair types. This is a seamless and fast process to style your hair in the comfort of your own home at a reasonable price . A gift that keeps on giving. I use this product every day and have not noticed any damage.

Shark Smooth Style Heated Comb Straightener and Smoother Written from my wife’s point of view. The Shark Smooth Style will give you a beautiful salon smooth blowout look from dry or damp hair with very little practice. The Shark Smooth Style comes with an easy to read Quick Styling Tips card and a styling guide booklet that you need to be familiar with before your first use. Take a minute to look at the power knob as well. It has four settings with the last one for dry hair. The dry hair setting warms up the smoothing combs on the side of the Shark Smooth Style. It takes less than three minutes for the device to reach 420 degrees. With just past shoulder length, frizzy, wavy, hair it took me about five minutes to make my hair smooth - about the same amount of time I spend with the flat iron. The difference with the Shark Smooth Style is that my hair did not get stick straight or get plastered to my head. There was much more volume and body to my hair. Using the Shark Smooth Style on wet hair was equally easy and quick. On the medium heat setting it took about six minutes to completely dry my hair. I bent over and dried my hair upside down for more volume. Standing upright it still gave a good, salon looking blowout but without as much volume. There is a bit of a learning curve though. It's quite easy to smack yourself in the forehead with the smoothing combs as you're drying! Over time it becomes easier to manipulate the wand so you don't hit yourself. Unlike other drying/styling wands I've tried, this one does not come with any attachments. It is a little heavy but you get used to the weight over time. The Shark Smooth Style is a great product if you want a smooth blowout with volume.

The Shark SmoothStyle is a pretty cool concept. They had a great idea to place everything from a comb, straightener, and hair dryer all in one convenient package. I must admit, this product has some decent weight to it. It definitely weighs more then the typical hair dryer or typical hair straightener does on their own. The bulk is really the only negative that I found with this product. Upon unboxing it, I plugged it in and turned it on. I was surprised at the speed at which this device heated up! It was almost instant. For those people in a hurry to get ready, this device will definitely meet the challenge! The hair dryer portion moves quite a bit of air! I must note that, per the instructions, you cannot take your hair from completely wet to completely dry. The instructions state that the user's hair should be around 70% dry prior to using the device. I also like that it has a small tip on the end that allows the user to twist it. As you twist it the cord twists at the bottoms as well so the cord does not bind up. This device definitely helps produce volume for hair, but it is better suited for longer, straight hair instead of shorter straight hair.

I never thought I would need something like this combo! I have my tried and tested hairdryer as well as a hair straightener that I have been using for more than a decade. I have thick and wavy hair and these are the tools I only need to get ready. I stumbled upon this combo and I thought why not try something that could potentially decrease my hair preparation time. Out of the box, my initial complaint was that this tool is a bit heavy. I waited until my hair is about 70% dry before I used the wet hair setting. I set the dryer at level 2 which has enough air coming out of the brush. The sound it makes is quite loud though, similar to a regular hairdryer which honestly I did not expect. I expected this to be a little bit quieter. I brushed through my hair, section by section, layer by layer as I have thick shoulder length hair. I like that I can style my hair as I brush them and I notice my frizzy hair gets smoother and smoother on each stroke. It took about 10 minutes to completely dry my hair. It could have been quicker if I set it to the highest level. After my hair is dry, I set it to the dry hair setting to straighten my hair. I didn't really have to do this last step as I see that my hair has less waves at this point. As expected, the straightener only took a couple of minutes to style my hair the way I wanted it. Overall, I think this could probably replace my hairdryer and straightener if I am in a rush. Other than being heavy and loud, this tool does what it supposed to and get me the hairstyle I like.
