Will be returning product. Suction would randomly stop working and I had to turn machine off and back on to get it to work again. Paid way too much money for that.

::Unboxing:: Beyond the carpet cleaner (which includes a built-in head at the end of the hose), there are three separate attachment heads and two solutions bottles. The attached cord is 12 feet long. ::Design:: A lot of time and thought was put into the intuitiveness of this machine. It’s one of those items that you likely won’t have to consult the owner’s manual on as everything is pretty self explanatory and they’ve gone out of the way to guide you - i.e. the tanks are color coded to match the color of solutions bottles. The Deep Clean (purple) tank is labled to show the desired water to concentrate ratio for proper dilution of the solution (hot water usage is discouraged), while the Oxy Multiplier tank does not require dilution. The same goes for the tools. All of the pet tools are uniformly colored yellow. ::Usage:: There’s a trigger built into the head of the hose that produces a pressurized mix of the Deep Clean and Oxy solutions. The other heads can snap onto the default head and include a “Stain Eliminator” head which has a cool piece at the suction point that can be flipped from a pet hair tool to a bristle by pressing the little blue button and flipping the tool piece (the yellow side would flip inward and the bristle side is the black side). The “Pet Mess Extractor” head contains a small embedded container which captures and diverts “pet mess” so that it doesn’t get sucked all the way through the hose and into the dirty water tank which would cause you to have to clean the hose out with some kind of brush tool if the mess attached to the inside sides of the hose. Brilliant! The “Pet Hair Extractor” is similar to the last tool but has a built-in filter. There’s also a “Rinse and Go” dock where you can press most of the head attachments and rock them back and forward and it uses the pressurized mix and sucks it thru the head to clean the head/hose line. While using the cleaner on my car carpets, it did a great job of lifting out dirt (pre-warning the dirty water tank will look like the stuff nightmares are made of if you haven’t done this in a while or ever). I also used it to spot clean some areas of my apartment where I know I have spilled liquids or there are stains and it did a great job on these as well. Full transparency, these are relatively minor spots/stains and if you have years of dirt built up in your carpet, the full size upright version of this would likely be a better investment to save you time and to give you a deeper, more thorough clean. But for spot cleaning on carpets or upholstery (or in my case I used it to refresh my bedding from a minor stain from eating that day - I know, I know its a bad old habit) it gets the job done just fine. The solution also leaves a pleasant scent behind. ::Cleaning:: The machine and the heads break down nicely and easily to allow you to easily clean the tanks and the heads. The dirty water tank has a basket with a scraper tool that helps to capture and extract pet hair. There’s a filter that should be cleaned after every usage. ::Final Thoughts:: Going into the holidays, this would be an awesome gift for pet owners - it could keep you from having to wash pet beds as much and you could easily refresh them in between washes. It could also be a great gift for a car enthusiast, especially considering most of the car washes around here still require quarters for the vacuums. It could also be great to just have on hand for the occasional spills or accidents and due to the lighter size and weight (compared to a traditional upright) would allow you to quickly tackle minor stains before they set in and become more difficult to clean. I love how Shark made the Oxy it’s own thing and the Deep Clean it’s own thing. Having owned another brand that didn’t do this it forces you to choose between a fragranced clean or Oxy which makes it more expensive because you have to purchase multiple bottles (as the Oxy from this brand is not scented). It also means in the future, if Shark wanted to come out with different fragrances you could go that route, again without having to give up the Oxy element. Highly recommend this and I already know a couple of family members that may be getting one of these for Christmas this year!

The Shark Stain Striker Hair Pro Pet portable carpet is a great little carpet cleaner. This is a portable unit, designed more for spot and stain cleaning rather than whole home or even room cleaning. It comes with several different attachments, including a stain eliminator, mini stain eliminator, pet hair extractor, and pet mess extractor. The Stain Eliminator tool features a reversible scrubber that has traditional bristles on one side and a silicone hair removal tool on the other. Similarly, the mini stain eliminator tool comes with an extra silicone insert that is so small it is sure to get lost. It also includes a 12oz Deep Clean Pet Formula and 6oz Oxy Multiplier formula. The Deep Clean formula is enough for about 2 cleanings, and the Oxy Multiplier is enough for about 1 cleaning. I was very impressed with everything that is included with the cleaner. Unfortunately, there is no storage solution for any of the extra attachments. Because I don't actually have any pets, I can't speak to the specifics of pet cleaning, but I did use the cleaner for a couple of different spot stains I had around the house, as well as my main use, to clean my stairs. I was very impressed with the performance of this little cleaner. The two spot stains I had were little chocolate stains I had on an area rug that were about 24 hours old. This cleaner removed them with little effort. Next, I decided to tackle cleaning my stairs, which havent had a proper cleaning in the 4 years I've been in this house. It took me maybe 15-20 minutes total to finish all the stairs since you basically scrub each stair, but overall I was very impressed with the end result. The stairs were visibly fluffier and not matted. The dirty water bin was much dirtier than I had expected. This cleaner does a tremendous job of really sucking out that deep dirt. I wouldn't have said my stairs were really that dirty before cleaning, but seeing the dirty water bin after was eye opening. I will definitely be cleaning these stairs more often now that I have the perfect tool for the job. The other thing I didn't realize was how much hair was in the carpet. The regular bristle brush ended up pulling quite a bit of hair out of the carpet, however, because that isn't the purpose of the bristle brush, it was a bit difficult to get the hair out when I was done. Next time I'll probably stick to the silicone side. The other attachments are things I probably won't personally use, but I can see being very useful for pet owners. One is a pet hair extractor attachment, which as the name implies, helps extract pet hair. It has a separate container and filter to keep the hair from being sucked into the main unit and causing clogs. The other attachment is a pet mess extractor, which is for cleaning up "unsanitary" messes. I'm guessing poop and pee. Again, it has a separate container which is supposed to keep the mess separate from the rest of the unit so that it doesn't contaminate the hose, tank, etc. It's actually a really great design and I'm glad they thought of that, even if I personally won't use it. Overall, I am very satisfied with the Stain Striker Hair Pro Pet. While I don't personally have pets, it is still a great cleaner for spot and stair cleaning. Or even smaller jobs like automobiles. The included attachments are great if you do have pets. I would definitely recommend, not just for pet owners, but anyone looking for a good carpet cleaner for spot cleaning and other small jobs.

Do NOT buy this! The suction power is not great unless I got a broken one.

Thank you for the upgrade. I have the previous version and it has been a life saver with all of our pets. This upgrade is even better. For starters and my favorite feature is the pet hair extractor attachment. It can be used with or without the cleaning spray. The pet mess attachment is great as well. If you have chunks or gross pieces of whatever mess your animal makes, this is your attachment. It separates the chucks into a separate container. It also comes with a stain master attachment, which has reversible brushes. One side is a bristle and the other is rubber. They are both easy to clean. The cleaning solutions are easy to added and the tank is easy to read to ensure everything is added correctly. The dirty waste tank is easy to remove and clean as well. The filters come off for easy clean and the solid trap inside is easy to remove and clean as well. On the older model, I had a hard time storing the wand as the hose was just a little too short and it kept the hose from sliding into the storage area. This model seems to have corrected that. The noise level isn’t much different than a regular vacuum but this thing has great suction power. Overall, it a great machine and does a great job in cleaning upolstry and carpet/rugs.

Must have for pet owners!!! I have 4 dogs and 2 cats and one is still being house trained and my one cat is a senior and she has quite a few accidents so this machine comes in handy to make sure all accidents are cleaned - disinfected and sanitized! Keeps the house smelling fresh, when people come over they are impressed and say that your house doesn’t smell like you have any pets living here. I have been looking for a quick go to carpet, fabric cleaner just for maintenance and quick clean ups and Shark delivered. I love how easy the machine is to set up just fill with the cleaning liquid to the line and add water depending on the level of cleaning needed. Extra tough stains or extra cleaning I fill the tank to the max and went over the area two to three times. I was amazed with how dirty the liquid is indicating that it’s doing its job with cleaning the rug, furniture or pet bed. The unit comes with start solutions one oxy detergent and one deep clean pet. Both smell really fresh and always leaves the room smelling sanitized. The multiple tools are great to choose from depending on the surface and type of cleaning needed. What is also great is that it picks up the hair and prevents it from clogging the machine. One of the other great things shark thought of is cleaning the tubing and brush after use so it the dirt doesn’t stay in the tubing and end up stinking. Genius! Calling all pet owners and people with messy kid this is a must have for your household.

Our cat had an injury and got blood all over our couches, after the vet we went to purchase a stain remover and ended up buying the Shark Stainstriker. It did a great job! Completely removed the stain and the cloth is a light grey. We've tested it on minor things too like our bar stools, helps keep the smell fresh but honestly after seeing how good it did with our cats incident I trust it to do any job.

I have pets, a dog (labrador) and a cat (domestic short hair). They're both getting on in years and our lab is now an indoor dog. The downside is both of them are now prone to the occasional digestive or stomach problem. End result. Messes and stains. This is not helped by the white/beige carpet in our home. This makes the perfect candidate for the Shark Stain Striker Pro. In the box. - Shark Stain Striker Pro Portable (Model PX250) - Various Tools (Hair Extractor, Mess Extractor, Stain Eleminator) - Trial Sizes of 1x Deep Clean and 1x Oxy Multiplier Formula - Instruction Material I also want to note this has a 3 year warranty. Which is impressive. Initial Thoughts Out of the box, the Shark StainStriker is compact. This is truly a portable spot cleaner. It's about the size of a large InstaPot. It's lightweight, has a sturdy carry handle and has a retro-future vibe with the neon aqua/grey/bronze color scheme. The unit packs mostly well, the vacuum/water tube wraps neatly around the StainStriker, the power cord hangs up nicely, and the main nozzle clips in well - but there's no convenient storage option for all the various brush heads. I guess that's a trade off when it comes to keeping things portable. Setup and Use There's no need for an app. The included instructions are straight forward. What does stand out is that the Shark Stain Striker has 2 tanks for cleaning fluid. The first tank is the "CarpetXpert" tank. This is mostly filled with water then topped off with the included Deep Clean fluid. It probably uses, by my estimates, about 1/3 of the included trial bottle to top off the tank. The second tank is the "StainStriker" tank and it is filled with the Oxy Multiplier fluid. This used the entire included bottle. If you buy the Shark StainStriker, I would recommend you get a bottle of Oxy Multiplier at the same time - so you have a spare for the next use. Using the Stain Striker HairPro My cat didn't disappoint, while my partner and I were out, we came home to a "present" of food and hairball vomit on the carpet. Ugh. I cleaned off main solid mess using a paper towel then put the StainStriker to work. First, it's not loud, which was a nice surprise - last thing you want to do is scare your pets into making more mess. Haha. The StainStriker doesn't soak the carpet and there's a spot spray trigger in the handle to release more cleaner. For some reason, every time I used the spray trigger it sprayed but also leaked over my hand. I tried different positions, removing and re-attaching the Stain Elminator attachment - but there was still a drip/leak every time I used the spray. If you have sensitive skin, this may be frustrating and seems like a design issue. It did also lift hair out of the carpet - was surprised how much hair was there that a simple supermarket spray cleaning and wipe clean would never have revealed. What I will say is the cleaning of a spot on the carpet revealed that I need to clean my entire carpet with the Stain Striker Pro - making me wish I had an upright model or an upright attachment. Shark Stain Striker Portable Cleaning I am no posting a before/after photo because the before is gross. ugh. But in my tests, the Stain Striker Pro does remove stains. It also showed me just how dirty my carpet was - as the color of the water in the waste tank. The Stain Striker doesn't overly wet your carpet and my carpet was only mildly damp after the clean. The portable size means you could easily use it on upholstery but make sure to spot test first. Post Use Clean Up Cleaning the Shark Stain Striker Pro post use is easy. You clean the tube using the unit itself. The separate wastewater tank has a hair filter, so you can dump the water down the drain and put hair in the trash. This means you can keep the unit primed and ready to use (with cleaning fluid) for the next spot stain emergency. Which is nice and well thought out. Final Thoughts I've thought a lot about how to rate the Shark Stain Striker Pro. As a portable unit, it's great and lightweight. Except for the leak I experienced with the sprayer. I do wish that there was some way to clip or easily store all of the useful included attachments. I like that you can keep the Shark StainStriker ready to go when you need it. But I am erring more towards a 3 than a 4, because as much as I love portability, I find it also means you need to make compromises - great for spot stains, but cleaning spot stains reveals bigger cleaning needs. If Shark sold or included an extension handle so you could do a small area clean, I think this would be perfect. But I can't help think that maybe an upright model may be better. That all said, if you had a puppy and were in the middle of toilet training, then I would recommend the StainStriker in a heartbeat. Final thoughts. If you want a portable Stain cleaner system for pet messes, this is great but if you think you will find yourself wanting to clean beyond the "spot" when you discover how dirty your carpets are - it may make more sense to get one of Shark's upright models.

Our carpet has seen a decade of multiple pets, a great many were senior animals with failing organs, weak bladders and intolerance for our long days at work. Time and our beloved furbabies have taken their toll on our poor carpet. Numerous shampooing sessions have helped but there is still spots that require cleaning between the deep shampooing. There's a dinginess that I've been worried that we could never resolve without replacement. That being said we've received the Shark - StainStriker HairPro Pet Portable Carpet, Area Rug, & Upholstry cleaner for pets. I really like all the available attachments for different situations. I still need to learn which is best for certain situations, but one has its own mini holding tank for those situations where you don't want what it is picking up traveling through the tubing. For the first attempt, I picked two dark spots in our hallway that nothing else has touched. These were older dry stains that I used the spray I was supposed to let it sit for a while and then scrub, but I didn't wait. I scrubbed and sucked it up immediately. The next day, these two spots seem to be the cleanest spots in the hallway. It's pretty exciting! I've now continued through the living room hitting the worst of the worst stains and each looks fantastic as it dries. I can't wait to see what the floor looks like when I get through them all! I have mostly used the stain eliminator tool since I haven't cleaned a fresh pet mess. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the built in tool cleaner. It's ingenious and one of the best parts of this system because cleaning tools used to be the worst part of cleaning floors. Another favorite is the twin cleansers that are meant to be used together. The combination is amazing and a real star in this show. I may just have to find a full size carpet cleaner that does as well as this StainStriker. I also like the QR code on the unit for training videos. What a neat idea for those that prefer video to printed instructions! This system is fantastic and I'm so happy to have it! I absolutely recommend this unit to anyone.

I absolutely love my Shark Stainstriker! It works as intended, its simple and easy to use and keeps my rug and upholstery looking brand new! I highly recommend, especially for small living spaces and those with children and pets!

I have an older dog who sometimes has accidents and also have a lot friends who bring their younger kids to the house when they visit so spills and messes occur fairly frequently. While I have an upright carpet cleaner, it is sometimes unwieldy or completely unusable in the places where messes happen so I was looking for a portable solution when I came across the Stain Striker and decided to give it a try as I have had good luck with other Shark products in the past. I was a little overwhelmed when I opened the box because of the large number of parts and attachments, but after looking through the manual briefly, I was quickly able to figure everything out with relative ease. It was nice to get a sample bottle of cleaning solution and oxy boost in the box. Setup is easy and straightforward and I was cleaning within 15 minutes of opening the box. Because it is so portable, I have been able to use it on my stairs, furniture, area rugs, and even the cushions on my patio furniture. It has done a wonderful job of taking care of stains which I had not had luck cleaning with other methods before. Clean up of the unit is as easy as using it which is quite nice. It is compact enough for easy storage and the built-in cord wrap, hose wrap, and clip to hang the large handle on are nice touches which also make transporting it simple. After using it a few times, I find myself looking for more things to clean because it does such a great job.

The Shark StainStriker HairPro Pet is a small, corded wet vacuum designed for removing stains in small areas. I recommend reading the manual before trying to use this vacuum, then read it again. The wet vacuum comes with four cleaning brushes, ranging up to seven inches. It was handy to use on the stairs landing, to get into small places, and picked up a lot of dirt. I also used it in a high traffic area in my home office before setting down a new floor protector for an office chair. I had to go over the areas several times. Though the StainStriker picked up lots of dirt, the carpet still did not look clean when dried. The vacuum was not strong enough to pick up most of the water on the carpet. I left a fan on in one area and let the other area dry without a fan. It took several hours for the carpet in the room without the fan to dry. This is clearly a spot cleaner, as designed. It took significant time and effort to clean the landing on the stairs and a 3 x 4-foot area in the office. The self-cleaning feature is a plus. When done cleaning, place the tool end of the hose on the unit and press down. The StainStriker rinses and vacuums the hose, and the dirty water goes into the collection tank. This vacuum picked up pet hair, as well as dirt. You could use it for small spills, as long as the material is something that should go into the tank. You should not vacuum up eggs, tomato sauce, sugary or sticky foods and liquids. Pros: Small package. Vacuum hose and cord wrap neatly and compactly. Variety of cleaning tips in a range of sizes. Easy to operate. Self-cleaning feature. Cleaning solutions are color-coded to the appropriate tanks. Cons: Must use only Shark cleaning solutions. Corded unit limits where you can use it. Must clean area several times. No storage for extra cleaning brushes. Carpet took several hours to dry after cleaning.

I've tried a number of stain treatment vacuums over the years and this is the best/easiest one I've used. It's well laid out and built. I like that it has separate tanks for Oxy, cleaner and dirty water. The self cleaner for the larger nozzle is so easy also. You can see it clear out all the crud and it dries nice and clean. The tanks on this unit are sturdy and seem nice and thick. They click in solidly but are still easy to remove and fill. They are also very easy to clean/rinse. Everything on the unit is well marked and labeled which will make using it in the future easier. Thankfully I don't have to use these to often but they are great to have when needed. The vacuum is decently loud but it's got great suction and seems to get most of the cleaning solution out that you spray in. I soaked one stain pretty well and vacuumed it. With a fan on it was dry in under 2 hours. The head of the cleaner is well thought out with the scrubbers built into it. The pet hair catcher is a great idea and hopefully holds up and catches most of the hair. It does a good job of getting stains out. Overall I was very happy with the cleaning aspect of this cleaner. It's hard to guage if it does better or worse than another cleaner but I believe this one does a better job overall removing stains. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a compact, portable and easy to maintain stain cleaner.

As the owner of a cat with a very weak stomach and a home with lots and lots of carpet...this tool has quickly become the perfect helper to me. Multiple different tools are included in the box, including one specifically for hair. As the primary culprit of my cat's "messes" are hairballs, this specific tool has been so, so great. There's a little trap for collecting the hairs before they make it into the main tank, and it's been wonderful. Swapping out the different heads on the cleaner couldn't be simpler - in fact, the entire setup process was very simple. The included instructions walked me through every step, and the time from opening the box to first clean was just a few minutes. The power cord is long, and the hose length itself is also plenty adequate to cover a small room without too much effort. It also operates quietly enough that my usually skittish cat did not run and hide when I turned it on; in fact, she was so curious that she watched me clean up after her. The only slight negative is that the included cleaning solution is only enough to fill up the tank one time. I'm hoping that reordering it is simple, because whatever is in the solution - it works!
