Hinge on the hose broke within months of purchase and "wasn't covered by warranty". Poorly made product and irresponsible service from shark.

I have a Consumer reports #1 rated vacuum at a cost of $1350.00. Vacuumed the rug well with my Miele Vac then with my new Shark Stratos, it picked up a lot more dust and such. I am sold.

With 2 very fluffy dogs we tend to go through vacuums rather quickly. We prefer these light weight stick vacuums like this Shark - Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ. It is very light weight to carry from downstairs to upstairs. The only drawback is the dust cup on these light weight vacuums fill up quickly, especially when you have pets. The setup is very easy as with any stick vacuum. Attach the wand to the roller body at the bottom and the dust cup and motor assembly on the top. One difference with this Shark - Stratos Cordless Vacuum is that it has an Odor Neutralizing Cartridge which adds a fresh scent to the air and carpet as you vacuum up the dust, dirt and hair. I really like the fresh scent and will buy more cartridges as needed. The motor of the Shark Sratos is by far the best of any vacuum we have owned. There is 3 settings, Eco, clean sense IQ, and Boost. The clean sense did well. It added power to the suction when it sensed a dirty area but if you really want to get deep down dirt out put it in boost mode (or as I say, "Beast" mode) and really feel that suction. I ran it on Boost mode at 100% battery life and was down to 25% after vacuuming our living room, family room, and bedrooms. There wasn't a strand of dog hair left anywhere and the 2 rollers stayed hair free unlike previously owned stick vacuums that end up with a huge hairball after each use. As I said though the dust cup is small so I had to empty it 4 times while vacuuming those rooms. I tried the Stratos out on our hardwood floors also and it did very well. Usually a vacuum will shoot particles of debris around the floor when you try to vacuum hardwood but not this vacuum. It adjusts the roller speed automatically to gently pick up particles on hardwood and not shoot them out the back. Besides the beast mode suction the position you can fold it into for storage is the best part. Just press a button on the stick and you can fold the dust cup and motor part of the vacuum forward so it sits balanced and with a very tiny footprint. You could store this easily in a closet, under a table or even out in the open because it gets so small you would barely recognize it's a vacuum. We love this Shark - Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ and hope to get many years of hard work out of it.

I do not like this vacuum. The suction is poor, the attachments are no good urgh... I need to find a better one. I think i was better off with the regular red shark, only problem is that after a year it start to not want to turn on. I keep it as clean as possible and wash filters and take out any tangled hair or toys...

Shark is improving on their vacuums but getting a bit expensive now. This Stratos does a wonderful job picking up everything on the floor! From just dust and sand up to leaves and and large cat litter/wood pellets. The tank is easy to empty as always and the filters are washable! I really am enjoying the clean sense feature. It's great to automatically get a boost in power when needed. Something I have yet to see on a cordless vacuum is an option to set the brush roll to really gentle. (Anybody wanting to go over bath rugs, ect will know why) I also really like the odor neutralizing pods. (hope they come in other scents soon) they give a nice fresh smell when vacuuming. It's amazing for allergy sufferers, all dust stays in the machine where it belongs, nothing blows out in your face! The display screen is nice that it shows battery life but needs to be able to be flashed on quick without powering up the vacuum to see how much juice is left. The folding handle just may be my favorite feature. The ability for it to bend and get under furniture all the way is genius. The fact they made the hose in the hinged section detachable is wonderful. It is a spot that can get clogged easily and now there is access to get that clog out easier. I would have liked to have seen a few more tools in the box, maybe 2nd battery, and a wall mount stand that charges the vacuum also, especially at this price point.

It came damaged so needed to use masking tape to get it to work. Will be returning and getting another one.

Best vacuum for the price! You wont regret it! I can vacuum my entire 2400 sq ft house on 1 charge!

The first one I received the motor stopped. They replaced it and the second one stopped as well.

Too top heavy, don’t think it’s very durable especially since it folds. I can see easily how wear and tear can make the machine useless very quickly. Returned.

Wireless is the future! I have been slowly trusting wireless devices because they are getting better, and I am happy to share that this is the case with this vacuum! The suction power in this is no joke especially when you active the boost option. It’s doing such a great job at cleaning the dog hair and I am extremely satisfied with this. The only thing I wish was a little better was the battery, but fortunately my home is only 1400 square feet so I can vacuum my whole house in one charge. Here are my scores per each feature: 5/5 – Clean Sense IQ – first experience I have with a feature like this one. I love it and it seems like it does a good job at recognizing dirty areas versus less dirty areas. 5/5 – Cordless – I didn’t think it would do a better job with suction compared to my old vacuum, but it does a better job without a doubt! 5/5 – Power – impressed me and did better than a quality cord vacuum I have that is about 2 years old. 5/5 – Built Quality – strong and durable. I just wish it came with some type of stand. 4/5 – Battery – the battery could be better. For me it works, but I can see this being an issue if you own a large 3000sqft house. Overall, 5/5 for me. Overall good vacuum. Battery doesn’t last long … I will have the vacuum fully charged to 100% and in 5 minutes the power percentage is only 90%. I had another cordless shark vacuum before this one and had the same problem. But this is a powerful vacuum so I’m assuming that’s why it loses battery quickly. I have a German Shepard dog and the stratos picks up the hair easily. I really love the deodorizer in this vacuum it makes it smell lovely and not musky. I also love that it’s compact and can fold and put on a shelf so it can be easily stored. The vacuum is very easy to assemble and take apart to clean. Highly recommend the vacuum just wish the battery life was better.

Worked great for about 3 weeks. Now have to sweep us the mess it leaves behind.

Shark - Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ - Ash Purple This is a full size vacuum in every way. It cleans well, and comes with a useful selection of attachments. It is relatively easy to use and has a very solid build quality. The self-cleaning brushroll seems to work very well and the debris bin is easy to empty. The LED display is easy to read and informative. The LED lighting is bright and done well. The Stratos has a ton of flexibility in how you can break it down and use the attachments or tuck it away for storage. It has three operation modes from full on boost mode to eco mode. I ran it only in the default Clean Sense IQ mode and I did not install the Odor Neutralizer as I wanted to be sure it worked well without this consumable. In the Clean Sense IQ mode the vacuum claims to be sensing the debris and adjusting the suction. There is a clean indicator on the roller head that has an LED status indicator showing when the floor is clean. My house is a bit over 1,800 SqFt. I have wood floors on the bottom floor and carpets on the stairs and second story. With a full charge running in the Clean Sense IQ mode I got 37 minutes of battery life in this mixed use. In my house I am unable to do a full cleaning. I typically run out of battery with about half of the stairs left undone. I would actually rate this battery life as very good in comparison to the only other cordless vacuum in this price class that I have owned. That other vacuum is only able to do the bottom wooden floors on its battery running in its high mode. The cleaning on the Shark is far superior. But it's not all good news. The Stratos Cordless is a big heavy vacuum. I was a bit surprised at how tall and heavy this vacuum is. And that is my biggest problem. The vacuum with the standard brush head is right at 9lbs. That may not seem like much but it's heavy at the handle. And you feel this weight in your hand. On wood floors where there is not much resistance it's not too bad. But transition to carpet or a rug and you will feel it right away. This makes this a very uncomfortable vacuum to actually use. Using the included attachments can also be painful. I would not use it for any over the head cleaning or if I do, not for very long. It's just too heavy and unbalanced. And for those of a smaller stature I would stay away unless you know what you are getting into. Also Shark should include a real user manual. The quick guide is ok but you have to go to their website to download a real manual. And you will want to get one because there is a lot of missing information about how to clean and maintain this vacuum. This is a full size vacuum so if you expect a cordless to be lightweight, this vacuum is not that. Because of this I can only recommend this vacuum to those who are fine with that. Shark makes some great products and I expect it to be reliable and as a full size vacuum it does perform well. If you have a larger house you might also want to look into getting a charging adapter and spare battery.

The Shark Stratos Cordless vacuum is a very capable little cordless vacuum, witch is missing one small but important feature. The Stratos is a cordless stick style vacuum with Clean Sense IQ. Clean Sense IQ is Shark's auto dirt-sensing technology, which automatically turns up the suction power when it is needed. I found that this feature actually worked really well. Anytime I would pass over parts of the floor where I could tell there was more dirt and debris, you could hear the motor turn up to really get all that dirt. I tried the Stratos on both hard floors and carpet, and it really seemed to do a great job on both surfaces. One of my favorite things to use these types of vacuums for since they are so light and maneuverable is to clean the stairs. At first, it was actually a little tough, because this particular vacuum is a little bit heavier than other stick vacuums I've used, even if only slightly. However, I realized you can take off the long stick part and place the roller head directly onto the handheld portion and have sort of a mini hand vac situation going on, which is perfect for cleaning stairs. In this configuration I was actually able to clean the stairs better than any other vacuum I have used. This alone is worth it for me. However, it's also a very capable vacuum in it's own right, not just as a mini vacuum or for small jobs. I was able to vacuum my entire carpeted upstairs on less than a full battery. That's 3 bedrooms and a loft. And I only used about half the battery. And it did a really good job, almost as good as a full sized vacuum. I'd go so far as to finally get rid of my full sized vacuum and just keep this. It can even fold down for easier storage, so it's not taking up so much space, which is always nice. However, this brings me to the one thing I think it is missing. And that is that it is not wall-mountable. They tout this as a feature or perk, saying that because it folds down there is no need to mount it. But I just find that mounting is a much more elegant solution, especially for a cordless that needs to charge. The way you charge this is just plug it in with the provided cord. There is no dock or anything. I would really have preferred something a little more permanent like a wall mounted charger, or at the very least a little base or something that stays plugged in. But having to plug it and unplug it every time just feels clunky, especially for something in this price range. This is really the only thing holding me back from giving this vacuum 5 stars. But, even with that, I would still easily recommend this vacuum. It is one of the best I've used in a long time.
