I have had several Shark vacuums over the years and have always had nothing but love for the Shark brand. This Shark corded stick vacuum does not disappoint and lives up to my expectations from such a reputable company. Out of the box it comes with all the necessary attachments you think you would need to keep a clean living space. Taking out all the attachments and the base I could tell that it was going to be a very lightweight appliance and fit my needs perfectly. It was simple and straightforward to assemble that I just quickly snapped together the primary base and suction home with one simple click. It comes equipped with a very long power cord that allows for optimal travel when cleaning without having to unplug numerous times in order to get the job done. It has a somewhat gimmicky odor neutralizer freshener that you simply plug in and twist to get the level of freshness that you desire. It does smell good and works as it should, but I say gimmicky because it is essentially a plug in air freshener attached to the vacuum to blow fresh smelling fragrance when in operation. I/m not knocking it by any means as it does work, just do not know for how long it lasts. Also coming with this vacuum is the furniture attachment and crevice cleaning tool. All easily attached with a simple click here, click there, and your off to go. What makes this vacuum great is the power you get from a corded vacuum but the light weight maneuverability of a cordless stick vacuum. This thing is very powerful and easy to clean with the clear snap dust canister. It has both a sponge filter, also easy to clean, and an aluminum mesh filter similar to a coffee filter. It has two settings for hard floors and carpet. When the setting is changed, it either activates or deactivates a second powerful fin brush for extra cleaning power. There is also a bright led light on the front but is not very useful because it only lights a small area directly in front of the vacuum. For me at least this was not a helpful feature because I usually clean in well lit areas. I do see it being useful if you are ab le to fit it under your furniture to clean. When not in use, this vacuum is pretty much self contained for easy storage. You are able to detach the suction base and sit on the vacuum floor base with a hidden slot. The hose tube has an attachment for the crevice tool and furniture tool. But then there is no place for the handheld vacuum base which was kind of a disappointment for me. It seems there is always that 1 tool that does not have a home for the self storage which ends up making that one piece easy to lose. Overall, other than the few minor short comings of storage and the gimmicky add ons, I feel this vacuum is a functional and worthy purchase for the home consumer. Very light weight, powerful, and versatile cleaning.

This may be a very good vacuum, but it does not stand up independently. Let go of the vacuum and it falls to the floor. Hard to understand how this got through the design process.

Not for older person with small hands. Too much weight on handle.

After 2 years it’s no longer working, it’s not a cheap vacuum and it only last 2 years. It’s not worth the price.

So I received my Shark Stratos Corded Stick Vacuum with DuoClean Powerfins a week ago and have been putting it through its paces. Shark has become brand that people everywhere love due to the amazing products they continue to churn on every year. Inside the box, you will notice the vacuum comes in a three pieces, but no worry as the Shark Stratos is easy to snap together in no time with no tools needed. Simply take and insert the Wand into the floor nozzle, and insert the handheld vacuum onto the wand. Next just add the storage clip to the side of the wand to store the additional attachments. For a more compact storage, you can hang the handheld vacuum from the storage hook on the wand; otherwise just know that this is a very top heavy stick vacuum with most of the weight is in the top handheld portion of the vacuum and having a cord, kinda pulls and tugs on the vacuum. Not necessarily a dealbreaker for me, but I just wanted to point that out. This vacuum comes with Odor Neutralizer Technology, which features an Odor Neutralizer Cartridge that can be insert into the floor nozzle base. You can set the intensity of the odor neutralizer cartridge so it can neutralize odors as much or as little while you vacuum. Once everything is connected, you're ready to start vacuuming, the controls are located on the back of the vacuum handheld base; simply hit the power button and then select whether you are vacuuming bare floors or carpet and that's it. To empty, just take off the handheld vacuum from the wand and press the release buttons on either side of the dust cup and discard the dust into the trashcan. For those that have never used a Shark vacuum before, these are very powerful vacuums (and somewhat self-propelled). At times it almost feels as though its gonna run away but I love it. I know its cleaning thoroughly. I recommend this stick vacuum to anyone looking for a nice vacuum with powerful suction. One last thing I almost forgot to mention is that the roller under the bottom of the nozzle base can be removed also and cleaned. Just slide the eject roller button and voila. Clean and reattach the roller to the floor nozzle underneath.

I bought it after seeing good reviews but it has already started to not work as well and it hasn't even been a year. The filter sometimes makes a burning smell and it needs to be readjusted in place for it to stop.

I've had this vacuum for roughly a week and have used it several times and I am very pleased with its performance overall. This vacuum is better than some of the more expensive brands that I own. I have a cordless vacuum that I used to use, but the battery never lasted long enough for me to complete the job, so this one is significantly better in that regard. Assembly was very quick and simple and really the only complaint i have is that only one of the included attachments mount to the vacuum so that leaves the possibility of losing the others. A minor inconvenience, but I thought I should mention it. This is basically three vacuums in one. There is the standard vacuum, then you can detach the bottom and it's a stick vacuum and then you can take apart the longer portion and it becomes a handheld vacuum which is perfect for steps or cleaning your vehicle. This has plenty of power for all types of flooring including hardwoods. This is really a nice vacuum and with the three different options of use, it makes it a very useful tool. It's very lightweight and easy to carry from floor to floor. I'm very happy with this overall and I highly recommend it.
