Took this out of the box, plugged it in, turned on and off. Then, it would not power back on. Never got to use it!!!
I am super disappointed so far. I am hoping it's just a bad machine and replacement will be superior to what I had. However, I am moving from a Dyson machine and having second thoughts about the Shark now!
If I decide to keep and the replacement works well, I will update my review. For now...1 star due to inconvenience and disappointment! I'd give zero, if I could!

Hold on wait you are probably wondering why would someone stop to write a review for a vacuum cleaner. I thought the very same thing to myself because we all know that a vacuum pretty much is a one trick pony.
I thought that all vacuums were pretty much the same but I have to admit I was totally wrong. In this case there is a clear difference here and I will use my old Bisell to compare my new Shark to.
I wasn’t expecting much really from a vacuum but I will say that I am pleasantly surprised and wrong about all vacuums are the same. I opened the box and found the usual attachments and this is a bagless vacuum which is great but most vacuums are.
I was curious as to what is the selling point for this vacuum and it is a scent cartridge and the fact that it advertised as being more resistant to pet hair. I have two dogs at home a Pomeranian which are generally notorious for shedding not as much as larger breeds but still fairly messy when it comes to shedding and a Scottish terrier. He is nowhere near as messy with his fur.
I generally have a specific format when I write my reviews but I don’t normally review vacuums so this was a little tough for me to organize my thoughts in an interesting and coherent manner.
:::General findings:::
So I am changing my review style just a bit to better the suit this product. I do not have a fully carpeted home just two rooms in my home are carpeted but that is more than sufficient and warranted getting this vacuum in my opinion.
My attic and my son’s room is where I use this and my first three uses were enough to make me happy. This is advertised as the strongest suction and it certainly picked up so much crud and dander from the carpet in a single pass. Literally half of the container was filled from my sons room alone.
I used it in the attic and it took three passes in my son’s room with me moving furniture around and using the hand roller attachment to get a few hard-to-reach areas. In the attic I also did three passes and what the shark showed me is that I was not really cleaning anything with my old Bissel vacuum. With everything that was in the canister it is no wonder my family would sneeze so much while in those areas of the house.
I have used the Stratos for a good week or a little more possibly and in that time I like what I have experienced with it so far yes it does a great job but it is far from perfect but then again to be fair there is no such thing as a perfect product.
Pet hair does not stick easily like the vacuums I’ve owned in the past. I have not owned the product long enough to speak to that but so far yes it does a great job with and with my home being predominantly filled with girls there is always mountains of hair stuck in my vacuum cleaners I own a robot vacuum, two shark handheld vacuums, a Bissel and now my latest Shark. I can say that much like the pet hair my wife & daughters hair thankfully doesn’t clog my this vacuum like they do with my bathtub.
So far yes the suction on this vacuum is the strongest out of any I have owned, the pet hair doesn’t clog the vacuum and a small feature I appreciate is the scent cartridge. Is it a gimmick? That depends on how you choose to see it because it is yet another item, you’d have to replace regularly to get the most out of this product. All other vacuums typically have that specific smell to it when you think of carpet cleaning.
With the scent cartridge you can vacuum and not experience that specific carpet smell at least not while the cartridge is active I am unsure of how long it’ll last but so far I like it I will have to check as to the price and how often this cartridge should be replaced I think though it would depend on how often it is used so your mileage may vary.
This is a lightweight product with A LOT of plastic pieces so a concern of mine is the question of longevity. In time I will see as to how well it will hold up but I am expecting good results because I have had a good track record with the brand.
:::Pros & Con’s:::
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Cannister (bagless)
- Strong suction
- Like the scent cartridge
- Tall for an upright (tall people friendly)
Cons:
- Hose isn’t long enough for my liking
- Gets really hot in a short amount of time
:::Closing thoughts:::
Overall, I like this Stratos this is my first upright so I can not speak as to what existed previously but I can say that I am impressed with. I can also say with confidence that I like it far better than my previous Bissel vacuum cleaner. There is more to like here than the few shortcomings in my eyes. Ultimately it is up to you if you can overlook the minor annoyances.
:::TL;DR:::
This vacuum sucks so much but in a good way more than some competitors can say, and it picks up so much in so little time is lightweight and it smells great too. If this sounds good to you and you are searching for something new then look no further.

Easy to put together once out of the box. In a house with 4 girls and a dog no hair gets stuck on the roller as advertised. Love the three attachments that are provided. Suction is really powerful so be careful if you're using the hardwood or carpet setting while using the detached hose. The odor neutralizer is a nice added feature.

This vacuum has incredible suction power. The lift away feature is very handy when doing stairs and vacuuming under furniture. It's very easy to release the wand for hand vacuuming and cleaning out the canister. Its very agile and moves with ease. I don't find it heavy for a full sized corded vacuum, however, I am an able bodied reasonably healthy 40 year old. The freshener cartridge has a pleasant, non lingering scent.

I recently picked up the Shark Stratos vacuum cleaner, and I'm absolutely impressed with its power and ease of use! The suction is phenomenal, making quick work of dirt and debris, even on carpets that typically challenge other vacuums. The Anti-Allergen Complete Seal and HEPA filter are fantastic for trapping dust and allergens, which is a big plus in my home. I also love the ease of maneuverability—the Stratos glides effortlessly around furniture, and the swivel steering makes tight spots a breeze to clean.
In terms of convenience, it’s a dream. It’s lightweight enough for easy handling, even when doing multiple rooms, and the design is so user-friendly. The dust bin is easy to empty, and the overall maintenance is straightforward.
That said, there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The vacuum is a little on the heavier side, especially when you’re lifting it for stairs or storage. I also noticed that the cost of accessories—like extra brushes or filters—can add up over time, which might be a downside for some.
Overall, though, the Shark Stratos delivers exceptional performance for a variety of surfaces, and its ease of use makes it a solid investment for anyone looking for powerful cleaning with minimal hassle. Highly recommend it!

Finally A Great Vacuum For Hardwood Floor Owners

I grew up with carpeted living spaces and weekly chores involving vacuuming at least one room if not the whole house. It's been a while since I used, let alone owned, a vacuum cleaner since we’ve ended up having hardwood floors most of my adult life. So this is where the Shark Stratos started its spell over me: it works on thick and short carpet as well as hardwood floors! Once it arrived I opened the box and began pulling this thing out in pieces, you’ll see in the pictures it required some assembly, but it was all snap-together and very simple. It comes with a “odor neutralizer” filter to plug in, which has a dial to set how much odor it's going to need to neutralize. I found the smell to be akin to the carpet powders we used to sprinkle around the house but my wife found it “too perfumey”.
Once assembled it was time to test it out. I went to the dirtiest spot in my house: the entry mat! With the switch slid into the short carpet position I pressed in the power button on the handle and it buzzed to life. The sound is not quiet but it's definitely hushed enough I wouldn’t worry about waking my kids down the hall if I needed to get an early start on cleaning. One of the coolest features is the almost omni-directional pivot the upright portion has from the base. What I mean is that its able to lean back but also shimmy to the side to press into tight spaces easier. You can pop off the handle to use like a handheld vac (anyone else a product of the 80s and remember a DustBuster? Yeah it's like that kinda), which is great for cleaning the couch. The big marketing point of the vacuum is the DuoClean PowerFins which claim to make direct contact with hardwood and penetrate deeper into the carpet while also sucking up pet hair without letting it tangle and wrap around. I didn’t have a long haired pet to test the anti-wrapping tech but I got my daughter’s hair brush and staged a hair mess for testing. No wrapped around hair, so that’s a good sign! There is an attachment that brings the DuoClean fins onto the handle if you separate it. I assume it works just as well but I didn’t have any more hair to stage another mess with. Using on my hardwood, the vacuum glides along easily and devoured all the dirt and shredded styrofoam (thanks to my four year old for the “help”) in one pass. We mop regularly and sweep daily but I was amazed at all the filth this bad boy cleaned up in just the few minutes I ran it out of the box. Which reminds me, it's a bagless vacuum too, utilizing a HEPA filter in a plastic dust “cup” (more like a small bucket) to trap dust, debris, and allergens inside the vacuum and allow you to empty the mess without touching anything gross. This was great too, it held a lot of dirt and just popped right out and back in again without having to get the mess on myself.
So as a lapsed vacuum user I personally was impressed with the Shark Stratos Upright for how easy and comfortable it was to push around and clean my hardwood and little entry carpet. While my tests were far from a worst case scenario, it handled the hair and filthy carpet with ease while showcasing how maneuverable and hard working it was. Cleaning up is a breeze and you can’t beat a HEPA filter when it comes to allergic households plus the added OdorNeutralizer is a great addition if you have pets or other smelly situations. Highly recommended and I’ll be making this part of the kids chore arsenal immediately!

Excellent vacuum from Shark!

The Shark - Stratos Upright Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins HairPro, Self-Cleaning Brushroll, Odor Neutralizer Technology is a joy to use! The assembly is very easy and took maybe 5 minutes to read the assembly instructions and completely assemble the vacuum. The parts are minimal, so anyone will be able to handle the assembly.
The build quality feels solid and the vacuum is very easy to maneuver. The vacuum mode can easily be selected from the handle depending what surface your on. Hard floor, carpet / Low pile, and Thick carpet / area rug. Suction is excellent and picks up excellent. The ability to detach the vacuum unit from the body for doing things like stairs or ceilings with the detachable wand is great! This is the second Shark I've owned and they're both excellent vacuums. Definitely on par with the Dyson vacuums I've used.
The odor neutralizer cartridge was easy to install, and the vacuum smelled good while vacuuming. You can adjust the level of scent that is released by turning the cartridge. The canister is easy to lift off for emptying and reattaches easily. There are 2 spots for attaching the 3 attachments that come with the vacuum, so you'll need to store one of them in a drawer when not using. The cord is plenty long at 30 feet and rolls up easy.
The DuoClean PowerFins HairPro roller system works great for picking up hair and other debri. It keeps the hair from getting tangled in the roller also. One thing I love about the Shark vacuums is the easy access panels for clearing out anything that happens to get stuck in either the rollers or the wand. A lot of thought went into the design.
The LED light on the vacuum is awesome for seeing things you wouldn't see without the light! Especially on hardwood floors!
I definitely recommend the Shark brand and this vacuum to anyone looking for an excellent vacuum!

Awesome vacuum! Clumsy, but strong! With its large container it tends to be a little top heavy and wants to lean to whichever side you're steering towards. But, other than that this thing has the best suction I've seen since my Mom's Kirby. The rollers are truly hair shedding... I have daughters and that's the #1 complaint I've had with ALL of our vacuums! NOT THIS ONE :) Whats cool is the hairs get spun up on top of the cone filter and it's easy to remove the wad when emptying the container!! The 2nd best feature I love it's the ability to vacuum both out carpets and hard floors! Now my Dyson stick stays in the pantry! Definitely recommend to all my family and friends!

So this is not my first ride on the Vacuum rodeo. My quest for a new one began based on my overall frustration with my previous vacuum which was a new version of the same previous vacuum. Don’t get me wrong, it’s probably one of the best known in the business. It was great but over the years, even with cleaning and filter replacement, it just was not cutting it. It also was making a horrible whistling noise even with new filters as YouTube suggested. My wife said, its done, put it out of my misery and go find a new one.
Regrettably, we had gotten a shark about a year or so ago. It was similar and we actually loved it but my daughter needed a good vacuum, so we let her have that. Bad decision..lol.
Out of the box you quickly see how well packaged and helpful Shark is. As soon as you open the first flap on the box, there is a quick start guide right there to get you assembled and started, very helpful! Additionally, on the other flaps, they clearly give you all the web links a QR Code to get to them as well as to be able to Register it.
Assembly was quick and easy. This vacuum (at least to me) is much more logically designed for the various use cases it supports. For example, my wife really wanted the ability to lift away part of the vacuum and quickly add an attachment and do our stairs. This was even difficult wit our other Shark but with the Stratos, it is a breeze, every single button to release something is clearly labeled which is a huge help because my others had those, but none were labeled. Now, she literally presses the “Powered Lift away” button and the main unit with the cord comes off. Then you press the “Wand release" button and off comes the wand and hose, you put your smaller fin brush on the end and boom! Your stairs are done quickly and easily. Others have said this vacuum is heavy. It is built well but the powered brushes to help it move easily over carpets and when you lift away the canister and wand, my wife and I both were easily able to handle the unit on the stairs safely.
One of the things that I really liked about that other Shark was the separate Hair catcher. This new Shark Stratos has an even improved version of this called the HairPro. Let me tell you, if you have anyone with long hair in the house and animals that shed, this is AMAZING! it separately catches those longer hairs on a metal cone and you can easily dump/pull them off to discard. If you have ever spent much time sitting on the floor with your older vacuum and trying to either take apart or take scissors and cut the hairs from around the rollers….uggh.. what a pain! This Shark Stratos solves that problem and does it very well.
The vacuum comes with 3 attachments that are made to be used with the wand. I always struggle with attachments. I literally have a small bin in the closet with a bunch of different ones. This shark doesn’t have places to store them on the vacuum and I am totally fine with it because with my other ones that did that before, it’s never great, they fall off, get loose in their place and won’t stay and in most cases you end up throwing them in the closet with the vacuum. This comes with a crevice tool, a non-powered smaller brush and then a brush with fins that rotate with the suction. We used this on the stairs and it was wonderful with the great suction this Shark has.
Overall, this is now our go to vacuum. It finally has combined many of the great features of other sharks and many levels of suction, pet cleaning focus and ease of use into one machine that my wife and I both agree we like using. It sure makes cleaning day much more tolerable each week when you have a great device to make the task not only easier but does a great job. I would highly recommend this to others.

This vacuum is awesome. It was easy to put together, lightweight, and picks up a lot of dog fluff with ease. After 5 months of regular vacuuming, I still have not had to do the dreaded cleaning of the brush role that I did every other week on my Dyson. The lift away is a nice option & power is excellent. I highly recommend, especially if you have pets.

Whoa! Very impressed. Super strong vacuum!!! I had been using a cordless for many years. My first time using this, the canister was almost full of dust and debris that my hand held never picked up.
It is a bit heavy and takes a little umph to maneuver around the floors. Not for elderly or someone who doesn’t have a lot of strength. Outside of that, it’s a dream. Might be considered a little loud, too? But for the amazing job it does, I don’t care about the noise.
Canister is very easy to empty. No concerns about getting dirty to do it. Self cleaning rollers? Works better than I hoped! No more long hair wrapped around the roller. This is the single greatest feature.

Amazing Cleaner!

While searching for the perfect vacuum cleaner is sometimes difficult, as every person will have different needs, there are some features that allow certain models to differentiate themselves from the rest. As such, as a previous owner of two shark vacuum cleaners, the Shark Duo Clean Slim (Model NV201) and its current generation (Model: ZU782), I have been impressed with the overall performance of their vacuum cleaners for quite some time. Both of these models are more compact than the rest of the lineup, so naturally I was extremely excited to test their latest flagship, the full size Shark Stratos (Model: AZ3002) and was curious to compare it to our previous models.
Once you open the box, the Stratos is very similar as other previous Shark vacuum cleaners. The installation is fairly straightforward and most should have no issue. Physically, the Shark Stratos is much larger than our previous units. The weight clocks in at roughly 17 pounds and has a really sturdy feel to it. As with previous shark models, the middle detaches from the base of the vacuum cleaner allowing you to clean in a more portable fashion. For cleaning control, the Stratos has three different presets located on the handle: bare floor, carpet, and thick carpet. Next, you will also note the new feature with the Stratos: the odor neutralizing cartridge. This will need to be installed on the base of the unit and should be replaced every six months. Moving on, the Stratos is included with a few accessories: the crevice tool for baseboards and hard to reach areas, the upholstery tool, and lastly the hair pro brush. Lastly, comparing the Stratos to our previous cleaners, the only feature that those other cleaners have over the Stratos is the ability to control the suction strength on the hose. Additionally, the power button was moved to the handle on the Stratos; our others had it next to the wand compartment.
Upon cleaning for the first time with the Stratos, the handling of the vacuum cleaner was quite amazing. It has a fluidity that is hard to describe. The base of the unit swivels around when you turn left or right. The LED on the front was also a nice touch, especially for hard to see areas. I was also quite impressed with the odor neutralizing cartridge. On the recommended highest setting, I was able to immediately tell the room was starting to smell fresher. In addition, with a household of three cats, the Stratos handled my cleaning task with no issue. I was able to consistently fill the dust container to its maximum in each room. The Duo Clean feature and the self cleaning rollers seemed to work as intended. As I finished a pass in each room, there was nothing stuck or clumped up in the rollers.
The next test that I wanted to do was test the Stratos by removing the base of the unit and clean with the hair pro attachment. I decided to stress test this by cleaning our stairs that almost certainly was full of cat hair. As I began rolling the hair pro attachment over the stairs, the carpet began to fluff up as I continued moving in an up and down fashion. Next, I would then pass over each stair a second time from left to right. After roughly ten minutes of cleaning, I was quite excited with the results. For us, I believe this was the first vacuum cleaner that did not seem to lose any suction power with any of the included attachments. In addition, the hair pro attachment did not have any hair or debris stuck in its fins. It is fair to say that this was certainly the first vacuum cleaner we have owned that the suction with the hose matched that of regular vacuuming. The Stratos has stronger suction power than even our previous shark cleaners. For my final test, I decided to take the crevice tool and go back over our stair case. Before I started, I went ahead and dumped the dust bin and then proceeded to run the tool at the base of each stair. I could immediately feel the carpet being grabbed from the immense suction, even from the severely limited slit of the tool. Naturally, this was quite exciting. Once I completed my final pass, I was able pick up even more debris that was missed with the initial pass. Also, keep in mind that when you have the base removed, the odor neutralizing component is not used. Lastly, I also noticed that the cord attached to the vacuum cleaner was the longest we have seen as I was able to clean from top to bottom of the stairs without having to unplug the cord.
In conclusion, the latest Shark Stratos is in every way the flagship it was designed to be. The suction power of the Stratos is strongest we have ever used. Furthermore, the suction was not hampered by any of the included accessories and continued to perform exceptionally. In addition, we did not have any hair or debris buildup of any kind on either the hair pro accessory or the base of the cleaner. I was also impressed with the odor neutralizing cartridge as it seems to work as intended. Overall, the Shark Stratos has everything going for it, despite sitting in the upper price range. Thus, the Shark Stratos comes highly recommended.

By far one the best vacuums ever made by shark. The suction power is ridiculous amazingly love how the power button is on the handle and not on the base. The cord length definite kudos to them adding way more length. The led is a very touch. We finally ended up retiring our 10-year-old, Shark Professional to the basement and this model ended up being the one we landed on.
A few weeks in, and we couldn't be happier. The vacuum is easy to maneuver and powerful, and the canister is very easy to clear.

More suction power doesn't quite beat out traditional rollers(but no more cleaning rollers every week is a huge plus as i vacuum 2-3x a day)
Pros.
Tangle free sk far
easy to clean cobwebs and baseboard/crevices.
Easy to do stairs with
Pretty decent cleaning power.
No typical vacuum smell
Easy to use
Long cord
Large holding tank
Took maybe 5 mintues tops to assemble without using instructions.
Cons.
Price
Doesn't clean our shag carpet quite as well as our shark navigator pet(but the difference isn't enough for us to be happy with the new upgrade, the old vaccume will still come out from time to time though, was hoping to give away the old vacuum)
Heavier than expected, especially without the self propel option, but not unbearable. Still easy to use, just gives a little bit of a workout.
People love the light, but i find it too dim to be useful.
Cord and tool attachment locations are a pain and can make it a little difficult to reattach parts, but only a minor inconvenience.
The handle hose is a bit on the short side, clould have easily been made a little longer.
Not a fan of the fins vs the traditional rollers.
Not self propelled.
Even with all the cons, I still give it 4 stars, because they are minor cons. My navigator is 5 stars, but I still prefer this one even with a lower rating, because the new features make up for all the little very minor cons.

This powerful vacuum arrived on a day that I had literally vacuumed the house. I figured I would test it out and see what it might pick up. After vacuuming only a 16 X 21 foot room, well I knew there was no use saving my 3 year old vacuum... Image showing the dirt in the tank was only after sweeping that one room, wow...and gross...I had to dump the tank twice through out the rest of the house.
Those first few moments of use, had me knowing that this thing was worth it....but let's talk about it in more details. Right out of the box there is some assembly required. The manually has easy to follow step-by-step instructions and the pieces easily 'click' into place. Took less than 15 minutes to get everything out of the box and assembled to start cleaning! (Then again, my family calls me the professional assembler so your time may vary, haha)
Two things from the advertisement pulled me in. 1) Strong suction and 2) self-cleaning brush roll for NO HAIR WRAP. The suction was already proven in the first few minutes of use, picking up what my other vacuum left behind. I do not have any pets inside the house, but I myself have long, thick hair which seems to follow me through the house and stick in the carpets. One of the things that I hate about normal vacuum heads is that hair gets caught in the brush wheel and is difficult to get out. As you can see in one of the images that the wheel doesn't have brushes like a normal vacuum. And I'm happy to say the image was taken after I vacuumed the rest of the house and bathroom rugs (that I missed this morning) that was covered with hair. Normally my old vacuum wheel would have been covered in the hair, this one didn't have a single hair tied up in it. Success at last!
The vacuum can be used in multiple ways. All-together as a normal standup, detached from the tank (you hold the tank and vacuum under short areas like under couches/beds/hard to reach areas), and as a wand with attachments (not pictured, take the image vacuuming under the couch, the blue head would detach and become the wand). It's pretty light weight in comparison to other standups that I've had. There are three adjustment options for floors that includes high carpet, low carpet, and wood floors. An Odor Neutralizer that slips in the head, I can't say that I noticed a difference with this, it may be meant for households that have indoor pets. I also took it over to my grandparents house to test out picking up larger debris (they always have food on the floor after eating, haha). It picked up cornbread, shredded carrots, and cheerios with ease.
Overall this thing blew my mind at what it picked up. The only thing that I wish it had was a little bit longer hose for when the tank is detached and used as a wand, but then again if it was too long it might get in the way when used as a standup. I completely recommend giving this thing a try, you won't regret it!

This is the best vacuum ever. The suction is amazing. My home is 95% vacuum and every time I vacuum the carpet looks almost new! I love how easy it is to use it on stairs easy. There is definitely no need for any other vacuum. This vacuum does it all!
