Did not get dog hair out of my car. Doesn’t have enough suction to pick up basic debris on the floor.

Pleasant surprise - quite impressive unit!

I have to say that I am quite impressed with the UltraCyclone Pet Pro+. I do have something to compare to, that being a basic Black & Decker $39.99 (model HLVA320J26), so I am able to at least comments about functionality beyond just "oh this is great". That unit I bought out of necessity, something cheap and functional. So just like the picture would seem to imply, the CH951 is quite long, longer than your usual dust buster. This is quite great if you are trying to reach something on your ceiling (like a dusty bathroom fan vent for example). It won't make bending down any easier, though (that's just a downside of any dust buster, of course, not a knock on the UltraCyclone brand). The CH951 is longer than my Black and Decker model. The suctioning power is quite strong. No need to worry about its ability to pick up. There is also a standard indicator light for charging. Weight-wise, it feel a LITTLE heavier than my Black & Decker - that's probably due to the extra size of the unit about which I have no complaints. What makes the UltraCyclone Pet Pro line of units unique are two things. First, one of the attachments is a motorized agitator unit intended to pick up pet hair (its rated to pick up pet hair but there is nothing stopping you from using it as a normal dust buster for humans). It is powered by the battery as opposed to the suction power of the air. Interestingly, most stand-up vacuum cleaners have agitator hose attachment which are powered by the suction as opposed to a motor. While this MAY cause the unit to run through the battery a bit quicker, this should be the least of your concerns for a dust buster which you won't use for more than 15 minutes at a time. It is a great addition. Second, is the dust collection mechanism. Shark has designed some really innovative dust collection mechanism. Instead of having to disassemble the whole unit to empty dust, you instead empty a trap door which builds up all the waste. I was blown away by this. I was curious, though, about how this unit differs from the cheaper CH950 unit, so I called up Shark directly. Besides the difference in color (the CH950 is crimson, while the CH951 is yellow), I was told the CH951 has some additional technology for picking up pet hair that will prevent it from getting stuck at any point in the collection compartment. To be honest, I don't see what they are talking about (I don't have a CH950 to compare side-by-side, just online pictures). Frankly, the techs on the phone were not really aware of the differences until I pressed them on why two different models exist. I'll take Shark's word on it. I doubt I'll ever get to test this technology as my Black & Decker dust buster never experienced any tangling problems in the 1 year that I've had it. Anyway, I am a satisfied user. Waste collection is MUCHHHH better than any standard dust buster - much cleaner and easier to deal with, and the suction power is excellent.

Best handheld vacuum - hands down!

I have purchased more “pet hair” vacuums than I’d like to admit, and none of them have ever really lived up to the hype. They work initially, but they always seem to wear down very quickly. Not this one!!! I was so impressed with the cleaning power. I have tried everything I could think of to get the dog hair out of the back of my car - literally 10 minutes with this vacuum and my car’s carpet looks like new again! It’s so light which makes it super easy to maneuver and the attachments are a big help for getting into hard to reach places. I vacuumed my car, my husband’s truck and my son’s truck, and then I went through and vacuumed all the baseboards in my house - all in one charge! And the vacuum wasn’t even dead after all of that. My 11 year old loves to use this vacuum to get the dog hair out of his bed and off his pillows, so if it makes him want to clean I consider that a huge bonus. I probably could have made a voodoo dog out of all the hair it cleaned from just our vehicles alone, and I was genuinely surprised that I hadn’t known how much my dogs shed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Best Cordless Vacuum

This is so far the best cordless vacuum that I've ever used. I've used couple of others before this one and can safely stand by my statement. We do not have any pets at home but our 4 years old makes just as much mess. My wife & I have suffer from hair fall problem, specially while combing. So our bathroom needs to be vacuumed pretty much every other day and this vacuum has been a life saver for us. It has a lot of suction power and can reach to certain areas where our other vacuums can't. We have another vacuum from Shark (its a stick vacuum or whatever you call them). Believe me the battery is just a nightmare on that. You use it for literally 10-15 mins max and the battery is gone. It's that bad. Before getting this new vacuum, I was afraid of the same problem but luckily, it isn't the case. This is a very light weight hand held vacuum. It comes with multiple attachments. Every other cordless hand vacuum I’ve tried had mediocre suction, but this one can even suck up the random M&Ms and paperclips my kid seems to leave everywhere. Most handheld vacuums are either bulky, poorly designed or not powerful enough. I love the fact that this is super light and has excellent suction. The size and weight is perfect so that your arm doesn’t get tired with extended use. I love the attachments and the super easy charging station. It only needs couple of hours to fully charge. It has an easy dump one button dirt canister. This hand vacuum literally has many uses around the house. You can use it on kitchen tables, chairs, or countertops. It can also be used to remove dirt and dust from a computer keyboard. You can use it to suck up spider webs from walls and crevices. I occasionally use it to clean my car as well which my previous hand held vacuums failed to do. You can also use it to keep sofas and upholstery clean, including behind couch cushions. Since we live in Arizona and it's the summer time, a lot of small bugs can be seen crawling around on the floor. We use it to vacuum up all those bugs. You can use it in corners or areas where a conventional full sized vacuum cleaner can't get to. The possibilities are endless! This miracle, sleek vacuum device is a game changer. I would definitely recommend it.

Powerful handheld with easy to use features

The Shark Ultracycle Pet Pro+ (CH951) cordless vac is a small, modular, and powerful cordless vac. It comes with several attachments out of the box, including a powered, motorized pet power brush, crevice tool, and scrubbing brush. A 10w charger (with a peculiar voltage and amperage) rounds out the included accessories. The vac itself follows a very Shark design in both maintenance and dust bin emptying. Specifically the dust bin is released and hinged to make it easy to position it over a trash can and dump the canister. Simply pressing the button found on the top left side near the end will release the hinged door. It’s a thoughtful design, requiring you to be in control of both sides of the vac when dumping, avoiding the inevitable recoil I’ve had on some other designs where the spring hinge popping can cause some spewing of dust. If need be, it opens wide enough to pull out any dust balls that might become stuck if you overfill. Like with most of these designs, it’s better to empty early and often to avoid having to yank out balls of fur, but sometimes it's inevitable. The entire canister assembly, filter and all, can be detached by a button found on the bottom. That assembly is meant to be able to be cleaned with water, allowing you to restore a clean look to an otherwise dust covered transparent plastic. The power button is easily reachable on the top, and is topped with a power LED. The charging port is found near the bottom of the handle and inset. This design is obviously for the charging dock, which is not included and is a $30 extra found on Shark’s website. While it would have been nice to see that accessory (which also holds the tools) included in the box - for the MSRP of this vacuum - the omission is understood. The focus on solid capability of the vac practically sells the accessory, and I have it on order to mount this vac in the laundry room. Attachments attach by sliding into the tip. The powered brush attachment gives a satisfying click when attached unlike the others. The vac offers a 2000ma rechargeable lithium ion battery that can discharge at an impressive 100w (specs say 8 amp, which at the rated 10.8v is 87w, either way that’s a lot of power in a short amount of time). This creates a solid amount of suction for quick cleanup jobs at the cost of being slow to recharge. I’m assuming the engineering staff was concerned particularly with limiting battery wear with a slow charger (13.3v @ 0.75a - a paltry 10w charger) due to the designed output capacity and relative wear and tear that a high output lithium ion battery receives. Slower charing means lower temperatures and thus a longer lifespan of this ‘bright candle’ of a battery. Regardless, with a runtime of about 15 minutes give or take (the power brush takes an additional 12w, getting us close to that 100w figure - both empirical evidence and math tell us the 2000mah designed battery capacity at that discharge rate should give us approximately 15 minutes), that should be plenty of time for most to clean up the smaller messes this vacuum is designed for. One downside to the design is that the battery appears to be non-replaceable. This might not be a big deal given the shelf life and discharge cycles associated with lithium ion, but only time will tell how the battery holds up. The dust bin, accessories, and filters are readily available on Shark’s website. Sometimes there’s a concern that some of these products end up having a short life and parts become scarce. Shark seems to do a pretty good job of having available parts and support online. The overall design of the CH951 is shared with another model, the CH901 - meaning this series has some legs. So subjectively, I pushed this vacuum on microfiber furniture where our eldest cat sleeps literally all the time. It did a good job of picking on caked on cat fur with the included attachment after a bit of loosening. The result was a transformation of the chair back to its original state - nothing short of a miracle I attempt only once a year - and with much more manual effort. Our household is 2 adults, 2 cats, a dog (poodle, so less fur to worry about there) and 2 young children. Beyond pet fur, our two small children leave messes that are less difficult, but more frequently created. Cheerios carelessly thrown within millimeters of a small mouth - only to land on the floor and trampled to crumbs provide ample opportunity for this vacuum to prove its worth in our household. And prove it, it does with more reliability and power than lesser cordless hand-vacs I grew up with. Overall this is a solid vacuum worthy of a place in a home with pets. If you just want the vac, the CH901 appears to be a similar design - but without the powered attachment included, and with a less powerful motor. This might be a consideration, but as soon as you look at getting the attachment separately, this vacuum with it’s arguably more aesthetically pleasing yellow trim, and greater power output becomes a winner. The only real negative thing I can say is the lack of a user replaceable battery (which I’m sure when the time comes - well outside warranty - I’ll probably surgically alter this vac). Shark/Ninja products have taken a beloved place in our household - providing solid quality, power, and versatility - and the CH951 is no exception. Highly recommended!

Received this Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Cordless Vac and I was pleasantly surprised. I charged the vac and used it just around our family room, mainly the sofa and love seat. We have two pets, both dogs, a Golden Retriever and a Double Doodle. Both really shed and my wife’s vacuum cleaner seems to run CONSTANTLY dealing with their shed hair. The Ultra Cyclone has a lot of suction and when it says that it removes pet hair - IT DOES! And I was amazed how the hair did not tangle on the “spool” as it does on my wife’s floor vac. It really does remove it. It is very lightweight and we have used it daily to remove our pets hair from the sofa/love seat/recliner and the battery is still going strong. I love the way you empty it. Simply push a button over the trash can and all the contents that you have picked up comes sliding out. This is an amazing product that is well built and easy to use. If you need a compact, powerful, reliable hand held vacuum, don’t hesitate to purchase the Shark UltraCyclone.

By far, this is the most powerful handheld vacuum I've ever used. Very lightweight and it picks up virtually anything in it's way. I have 2 cats and with the Self-Cleaning Pet Power Brush (such a great idea), my couch no longer looks like I have cats. One of my cats actually has a furry hammock he sleeps on all the time and it was so full of hair, my old Dustbuster would barely clean it. The Shark made it look brand new again in about 1 minute. Incredible. I wish I had taken before and after pics but I wasn't expecting that result. The other attachments are great for corners, the ceiling and using in my car. Battery life is very good. I've only charged it once so far and have cleaned parts of the house 3 times, my car once and it still has juice. I love the easy empty function. Just push a button, the hinged compartment drops and the mess just falls in to the trash. This really is the ultimate handheld vacuum

Small compact powerful this thing really delivers from Shark. It's a handheld vacuum that has some solid suction power. I also have a V8 Dyson Stick vacuum and this has more power than that. It comes with three easy to use attachments that just pop in and out as you need them. I do wish they would have incorporated a way for the vacuum to hold the attachments so don't lose them! The unit came to me charged up and ready to use. I've had it for several days with daily use and have not had to charge it yet. The charger it self is just a dc plug in box. Nothing to wall mount. Emptying the cannister is as simple as pushing a button and trap opens over a trash can. It does very well with pet hair and has a special pet hair roller attachment that was very good at taking up cat hair in my house. Overall I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it if you in the market for a handheld vacuum. Shark makes a quality product.

I have to say, this really lives up to its name. I have a German Shepherd and they are known for shedding like no ones business. After a trip to the groomers my back seat was loaded with hair embedded in the fabric of the seats. This Shark vacuum did a wonderful job getting the hair out of my car. I also vacuum the stairs at home and my comforter because she sleeps on the bed. It keeps her hair in check and I love that about this vacuum. Its easy to empty with the touch of a button and its easy to change attachments. I havent ran it out of juice yet and seems to hold a charge pretty good. Simple to charge with the included cord. I couldn't be happier with this product and would recommend this to anyone with pets.
