Customers are saying
Customers commend the Vertex UltraLight DuoClean PowerFins Corded Stick Vacuum's powerful suction, lightweight design, and ease of use. Many appreciate its long cord and effective carpet cleaning capabilities, while some find the noise level and dustbin size to be drawbacks. Great vacuum overall!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went shopping for vacuums with the intent on buying a cordless stick but chose this Shark instead. The thought of having to replace a battery pack every so often turned me away from other options. My biggest complaint about this vacuum is that it's top heavy and does not stand up on its own.

Great Vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great vacuum!!! Nothing compares to the power the vacuums receive from a wall plug vs the cordless. Suction power is awesome loving it

Great for non-pet owners
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this vacuum and it worked super well but unfortunately it died after a year of owning it. It took on a lot of pet hair and I guess it couldn’t handle it. It’s a shame because it worked well!

Surprisingly excellent! Satisfying to use.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is amazing. I was tired of my cordless Dysons dying. I was on my second one. I do not recommend them since the battery is not removable; won't last more than 16 months before failure. Anyway, this vacuum is so much better and picks up dirt you never knew you had! Remarkable and can be stowed away very easily. Buy with confidence. It's worth the hassle of having a cord and works much better than you would possibly expect for something so small.

Love this vacuum!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the power of this vacuum. I have 4 dogs and lots of hair and this has great suction. The cord is also super long so I don’t have to worry about plugging and unplugging every time I move to a different room. It’s also lightweight. The only thing I’m not a fan of is that it’s top heavy. They’ve compensated for that by making the top piece detach easily and then hang on the front of the vacuum but it would be nicer to not have to deal with that. In spite of that, I’d def buy again!

Almost wipes the floor clean!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a piece of junk traditional upright vacuum and am very pleased! I have tile floors and need to suck debris that many vacuums would just blow away from the machine. Have little white styrofoam pills everywhere from unpacking boxes? No problem to vacuum them up off the floor or wherever with this unit! When I pulled this Shark out of the box, I was afraid that it was too narrow, the head unit is only about 10" wide. But this has allowed me to get into tighter spaces with the vacuum so it's all good.

Excellent compromise of a "Do All" vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Normally I try to do a pro/con, good/bad list on product reviews and then go into details all about it, explaining in what use cases it excels, which it does poorly, what kind of consumers may want it or not, all that jazz. But the Shark Vertex Ultralight is so straightforward that format seems wholly unnecessary here. I can sum it up in one line: the Shark Vertex Ultralight is the first stick vacuum cleaner I've ever used that I would feel confident and comfortable using for my whole house. Every consumer product is a compromise of some sort. We want a car that's powerful, fast and sporty, but that also is fuel efficient. We want kitchen knives of the best steel that can't rust and never need to be sharpened, but we don't want to spend a lot of money on them. We want cell phones with big displays for watching movies, but tiny enough to stick in a pocket that still have a battery that can last a week. And the ideal vacuum would be something that can work equally well on hard floors and carpet, is light as a feather for carrying upstairs, has enough suction to pull out tooth fillings, a battery that lasts two hours, and that can fold up and store under the kitchen sink. Shark hasn't quite reached that point, but they've found a very good balance nonetheless. The Vertex Ultralight is a corded vac, so you lose some convenience and portability. But that also means it can pack stronger motors for better suction than your typical battery vac. It also means you have unlimited runtime, so you can clean your whole house in one sitting, rather than waiting for a battery to recharge every 20 minutes. And with this power head attachment, you can clean just about every type of floor without issue. The power head cleverly has two spinning brushes, one with beater fins and stiff bristles for carpet, and a slower revolving fuzzy brush for hard floors. The fuzzy brush does a great job of gently sweeping the dirt off hard floors rather than scattering some of it like many regular vacuums can do. The power head does have a light on top and it pivots too, but it is considerably narrower than a normal vacuum so you will have to do more passes to cover the floor. It comes with three attachments ( crevice tool, brush, and one for upholstery ), which isn't as many as other vacuums, but it covers the basics. All of them can attach either to the main extension wand or directly to the hand unit, as can the power head ( using the power without the wand is great for vacuuming stairs ). There's also a clip that can keep two attachments on the main wand, which is handy. You'll still need to store the upholstery attachment in a closet or something, but you probably don't use it as much so it shouldn't be a big deal. The Ultralight doesn't come with a wall bracket for storage because it doesn't need one. For storage, the main wand has a hook on the front so you can detach the hand unit then hang it. You then wrap the cord on the two rear hooks as normal. It makes a smart little package, even with the two attachments also clipped to the wand, that can be stored in a closet, stood up in a corner, or tucked away on a shelf. The Vertex does have one downside: the dirt canister is quite small. You will likely need to empty it after every room or two. It's not a deal breaker and it is easy to take off and put back on, but it does slow down the process of cleaning your floors. And though it does have good suction power, it likely won't clean thick, deep carpets as well as a full-size vac. But all things considered, it's a great general purpose vacuum. It's small and light for above-the-floor cleaning and dusting, but still cleans both carpet and hard floors very well. It stores easily, is great for stairs, and has a very affordable price. For small to medium homes, college students in dorms or apartments perhaps, this could very easily be the only vacuum you need.
