I do not have carpet for that reason. In summer the dogs are inside the house the most of the day and they leave hair everywhere. Before I had this vacuum, cleanning never ended. Now the floors look shinny, as I had mopped them.

Poor design on this vacuum

I'm a professional cleaner and have gotten shark upright stick vacuums in the past, which I was very happy with. This vacuum has excellent suction, however it is heavy to use especially on newer carpets. When you push the vacuum it stays on the carpet like it should but when you pull back on it, the wheels lift and the base doesn't make much contact with the floor/carpet. This happens on any carpet, which it shouldn't. I think the design is very poor and might have to do with the suction and the design of the brushes/rollers on the base of the unit. After returning the vacuum, I purchased one of the older styles, which is an upgrade to the one I had originally and I'm very happy with it.
