Lightweight & powerful but could be better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an okay vacuum for everyday use. We have a mix flooring of tiles and carpeting. We struggled with a cheap cordedless vacuum for a year and still had to go back over it with our corded Dyson. I finally got this and have mixed review after almost 2 weeks of usage. Out of the box, everything was nicely packaged. It might look small/delicate but it does it’s job well. It is very light weight and simple to set up, charge and clean filter. Very maneuverable in tight spaces, this vacuum is good for small areas with lots of furniture, end tables, chairs, etc. in the way. I don't think this vacuum would be any good at deep carpets or large areas in a house, that's not what it's designed for. The noise is much quieter than my previous vacuum. My wife and I could have a normal volume conversation over it on the low-power setting. I didn’t feel like I was disruptive to anyone with the vacuum. When using the high-power setting, it was, of course, noisier, but still quieter than my other corded vacuum. You have to take your time a little more because this is not a high power corded vacuum, but it does pick up light stuff. I like that the battery is removable so you could feasibly have more than one if you want. The rollers on the brush head also feel very soft, unlike other hard plastic vacuum wheels which rattle across wood floors. There is also a kickback strip on the underside so nothing comes flying back at your feet. This works well for reaching high places – cobwebs, bugs, dust, etc. It works just ok as a vacuum. Yes, it sucks up dirt pretty well but the teeny/tiny dust cup makes it less useful for cleaning anything other than small messes. The battery life on this is not great. It lasts for about 20-25 mins max and takes couple of hours to charge. We used to own another brand stick vacuum and the battery life that was just as bad, It would get annoying at times when we would be vacuuming and all of a sudden, it stopped working due to dead battery. It would not even finish our upstairs on one full charge. We had to finish the rest with our other corded vacuum. I see the same issue with this one as well. If you adopt this vacuum with the thought of using it for the whole house, you cannot reasonably finish in a day unless you have a small house or apartment. Because of this, this vacuum will never be our primary vacuum, though it will be our go-to for quick jobs and for areas where maneuverability is needed - especially the steps. The battery life is going to get worse with prolong usage in future, although I hope that's not the case. So, if you are only vacuuming up little things every once in a while this would work. I haven't vacuumed out my car with this model yet, but I'm sure it would work great for that too. The charging platform is good but there is no place to store the upholstery brush – that is odd and a big oversight. Overall, I felt this thing had really great suction power on the low-power mode for picking up bits of paper, sand, fur, hair, dust, dirt, and crumbs but battery life is a big disappointment and might be a deal breaker for some.

Little vac BIG impact, especially if you have kids
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never been fond of cordless vacs. My experience has always been that the battery never lasts as long as I need it to and it always gets worse over time. I've also never liked the generally wimpy performance of reasonably priced cordless options when it comes to suction and the level of clean I get. Still, I own 2 Shark upright vacuums that I admittedly don't use as much as I should because I'm often too lazy to pull them out of the closet, plug in, and go. With messy young children and dogs around that shed at an alarming rate (seriously I could stuff a medium sized throw pillow with how much hair ends up on the floors and furniture sometimes), I thought I'd take a shot at something that is pretty much instantly ready to go. So far I'm pleasantly surprised. Unboxing and setup was a breeze, though I can't say I understand why Shark didn't integrate the ability to snap the accessory crevice tool and pet brush directly onto the vacuum handle itself. Having storage for the crevice tool on the base and no place to store the pet brush is just plain silly and I hope they rectify that in a future iteration. A wall mountable option wouldn't be a terrible addition either, but I'm generally fine with the floor stand. Those things aside though, initial setup took about 5 minutes before I had it charging in preparation for first use. The "grab-and-go" nature of this vac is where it really shines. It doesn't take up much room at all, so even keeping it out in the open is definitely an option due to how unobtrusive it is. Mine is placed in a corner next to my entertainment center. I've had it less than a week and I can honestly say I've grabbed if for quick touch-ups far more that I would ever have if I needed to haul out my upright. The suction in wand mode is good for something in the category of device. Definitely on par with or better than any other cordless I've used before. I'm not quite as thrilled with what I get from it with the floor and carpet attachment, but it's definitely more than serviceable. I had to keep reminding myself that it's NOT an upright. Comparing it to one is not fair, so plus points as a light floor vac too. Battery life has not been a problem thus far, though I have noticed that using the suction boost feature depletes it much more quickly, so use that sparingly. On a single full charge I can give my entire main floor (living room, dining room, kids' play room, den, kitchen, and half bath) a pretty thorough once over without it dying on me. I kind've wish the brush attachment swiveled to different angles like the one for my upright since having that flexibility is super handy, but it's not a huge letdown. When all is said and done this vac has exceeded my expectations and has started to change my opinion of cordless options. I love being able to grab it at a moments notice, use it, empty it, and have it back on the charger quickly. The better than expected suction and battery life make it a pleasure to use and I may pick up a second one just so I can have one downstairs and one upstairs for ultimate convenience. Nice job here Shark. Well done.

Shark
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery life of this product is absolutely horrible. Your lucky to finish two rooms before it dies after a full charge. How can a company like shark make such a lousy battery

Exceeds expectations
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a vacuum to fill the void between my full size and handheld. This unit definitely fits the bill. Good suction, sleek and compact and very light. If using for lighter jobs, it’s possible this could be your new main vacuum. The first impressive feature is the sleek design. It comes with a stand/base plate that fits neatly against a wall for charging. Now, when upright, it does become a bit top heavy, but when clicked on the base, there is no worry of tipping over. Should the upright height be an eyesore, you can separate, and still charge on the same base with the lower height profile. This configuration also allows for charging extra batteries. Great design. If it isn’t clear by the description, this vac can convert to a stand-alone hand vac, and upright, and an extension hybrid for hard-to-reach places. The battery charges fairly quickly and gives a decent amount of run time. I ran for a bout 30 minutes, and still had some juice left before recharging. My hand vac has about half that time, so my hand vac is now a backup in case I forget to charge. The dust cup is where performance can be tricky. The cup isn’t large, and can fill rather quickly. If it fills and you continue usage, you will notice a dramatic loss of suction. At first, I thought the unit just needed to be charged, but once I realized it was a filled cup, performance came right back. I’m not sure why the cup release isn’t used more often in other vacs, but the little-to-no-touch cup release is great. Hover over the trash, hit the switch, and empty. This makes removing dirt much less of a hassle. Being the cup is small, I still need to break out the bigger vac for deeper cleaning jobs, but for general maintenance, I can keep the big vac in the closet. The last feature is the most important, the suction power. Expectations met. This has been able to grab everything I’ve thrown at it. Smaller particles like spice spills, to larger debris and crumbs, nor problem. Just remember to frequently empty the cup, especially if notice power performance issues. This is a great unit, and an easy recommendation for an everyday vac with enough power to be a main while maintaining a slim profile.

Great Vac for Small Spaces
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The overall design of the Sharkl WandVac is lightweight and slim. It has a simple design and I really love the way it looks. The vac is certainly a bit more powerful than I would have expected given its light, slim design. The floor accessory is larger than I would have expected, so it does a relatively good job as cleaning. Although, this is not a full-size vacuum, so the floor head is not as wide as a corded vacuum or even some higher end cordless options in the market. The dust bin is smaller than I would have liked, so you will definitely be dumping the bin out more frequently than other stick vacs with larger bins. Speaking of, dust and hair will stick to the filter screen, but I've experienced this same issue with my other stick vacs that I've had. Also, not an uncommon issue. The dustbin easily pops open for a touch-free dump, but it is not fool-proof. You will need to tap the bin against the trash a couple of times and need to use a paper towel or cleaning brush to properly clean the interior filter screen. The spring mechanism kind of forcefully opens the bin. If you're not careful, and if the bin is filled, it can make a mess. So make sure you're over a trash can and, if possible, use your other hand to help slow the opening of the bin to prevent dirt and debris from being spread everywhere. The vacuum comes with a charging stand. This is not uncommon as many other competing brands have the same storage setup. I would prefer a wall-mount better, though. At the very least, come with both a stand or wall-mount. Give us an option. The fact that this vac is so sleek and slim even makes the case for a wall-mount option out-of-the-box. It does come with more accessories than the stand can hold, but this too isn’t uncommon. Many other brands with either wall or floor stands have the same limitation. Besides the floor brush, there is also a dusting and multi-tool. The handle is probably my least favorite part of the design. The entire vacuum has a bat-like design, so holding on to the wand can be kind of tiresome and it can slip out of your hand. A gun-like handle would be better solution so you can have a more reasonable grip. Overall, I think the Shark WandVac is a great option for someone with a smaller home like a small apartment or condo. Someone with a larger home might want to consider another option with a larger dustbin. Or, if you have a larger home, this would work great as a supplemental vacuum. Either way, you will very much love the sleek, lightweight design of this WandVac.

Great Power
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Little Shark can work. I was surprised on how much power this has. For such a little skinny vacuum cleaner. This runs quiet and brakes apart in 3 pieces. It has a rubber brush system on the bottom not the standard brush's like tradition vacuum cleaners. This just has 2 rollers on it. So you wont get the deep cleaning lines as you would a traditional vacuum. This is very easy to take apart and use. There is no bag to empty just a small dirt collector at the top of the handle. I have mine for the basement i have it broken down to 2 pieces and you can't even notice it in the room. It come with a stand to place it on to charge it. It has to attachment brush's to use with the handle only. This is very nice has great power picks up a lot of dirty. Very handy so you don't have to drag your big vacuum down stars to clean.
