Bought for my parents. So far it works great!!!!

Purchased an open box item. Scratch was only fault listed. It unit buzzes when used. Doesn’t sound right but return period was short and was over.

While it works, it seems to have things smoke. Seriously, not sure if we are going to keep it.

This thing started out good. But quickly went to where it takes almost 10 minutes to heat a cup of coffee. Looking to use the warranty for a replacement..... Not happy, Sharp used to be quality.

Smaller than my other one. Have to get to understand the setting functions. Not that happy with it. Same wattage as old one but doesnt seem to heat the same.

Delivery was exceptional. This microwave does its work well.

Light inside oven is far from being bright! Very annoying!

So far so good. Wish it had a reminder beep. Hope it lasts.

This microwave is pretty awful. The chrome and the black both show fingerprints really horribly. If you use the popcorn button, you cannot add 30 secs at the end of the cycle like you can on every other microwave I have ever used. Now the latch has become extremely difficult to use. The microwave was purchased less than 4 months ago! I went through the Sharp warranty and they are going to ship me a new microwave AFTER I somehow peel the label off the back of the microwave.

Makes loud nocking noises, inside is too small for bigger dishwasher. Is not well made, needed to be replaced after a few months.

This microwave started having issues after just a couple weeks and stopped working after just a few months. It stopped heating. We were able to slap it on the side and it would work for a bit. But even that stopped working so now it's not heating any thing anymore. I would avoid this model and possibly Sharp microwaves in general unfortunately.

Yellow warning label on front panel said remove protective tapes. When we tried to remove the warning label the label glue tore the rubber switch membrane. Realized they did not install the front panel protective clear laminate. Just touching the switch membrane leaves a scratch. Terrible quality control/final inspection!

Takes more than 2 minutes to heat up food or water

Some people may argue that the most important appliance in the kitchen is the dishwasher. I disagree – that is why wives have husbands, and parents have children - to wash the dishes if needed. I believe the most essential appliance is the microwave. Coffee not hot enough in the carafe? Need to make some popcorn when there is nothing else to eat in the house? Overcooked in terms of quantity, just to get enough leftovers for a few more meals to be reheated in the microwave for the sake of speed and efficiency tomorrow? There is your answer. Microwaves come in a variety of shapes, sizes, materials, and power levels. We want this appliance to work well, fast, and look good in our kitchen along side of the expensive stainless steel major appliances also residing there. The Sharp 1000 watt, 1.1 cubic foot microwave fits that role perfectly. Previously, I had a similar sized and powered Panasonic unit that worked well in that capacity and looked good doing it. Why anyone would want a bigger unit is beyond me. Size matters – how often do you need a bigger model to cook a turkey? My guess is not often. This Sharp microwave is the perfect size for just about anything you will need to do. Speed of cooking is a function of the available power and is more than adequate with this microwave oven. The stainless steel accents and rectangular style of the front and individual controls present a quality look and feel. Personally, I don’t like unnecessary curves in my appliances for the sake of a particular style. Inside there is a rotating glass plate. (I believe Sharp was the first microwave manufacturer to introduce the turntable within microwave ovens to promote the even heating of food.) Unlike my Panasonic microwave, the Sharp glass platter just rests on the three rotating arms beneath it rather than having nubs resting within slots to drive the rotation. The only downside is that the arms of the Sharp are fixed in place and make cleaning underneath the removable platter a bit more challenging compared to the Panasonic unit. Controls (clock, kitchen timer, power level, cook time input, etc.) are semi-intuitive and easy to use. “One Touch Cook” for “Popcorn”, “Potato”, etc. work well and aim to minimize the necessary number of “clicks” needed to get the job done. The Sharp Microwave Oven Operation Manual” is well written and designed. Although the manual that came with the unit was written only in English, it is probably available in other languages as well, and saves having a manual with only puzzling illustrations (Do you hear me Ikea?) or 27 different languages taking up so many pages. I like this microwave oven and look forward to using it every day.

The Sharp microwave was easy to set up and use. It was just a matter of positioning the glass tray, plugging it in and setting the time of day. The instructions were accurate and surprisingly easy to read. They were thorough with examples whenever the instructions might be hard to follow. The microwave looks stylish with the chrome and black finish. The functions include a kitchen timer, one button Express Cook (1 - 6 minutes), Auto Defrost, Time Cook, time cook with power levels and 3 programmable memory settings. There are also “One Touch” (actually 2 - 4 touch) buttons for potato, beverage, popcorn, veggie, frozen pizza and reheat that take into account the size or weight of the package/item. There is even the ability to do multi (2) stage cooking like defrosting followed by cooking or cooking at 2 different settings. There is also a silent mode to silence the sound when the buttons are pressed and a child safety lock. The Start button doubles as a 30 second button. One push starts the microwave with a 30 second timer. Each additional push while the microwave is running increases the time by 30 seconds. This function can also be used in combination with the Express Cook buttons to time for half minutes in just 2 steps. The problem I have with this microwave is that the programmed portion sizes in the defrost and the “One Touch” functions are too large. The smallest auto defrost setting is 16 ounces for meat and 24 ounces for poultry. The smallest reheat portion size is 9 ounces. The preset veggie size is 4 ounces. The preset values are not adjustable. I cook for 2 people and freeze hamburger and chicken in 6 - 8 ounce packages and one reheated meal portion is about 5 ounces. I cook veggies in 2-3 ounce portions. I don’t normally weigh food that I reheat and the first time I used the reheat function on the lowest setting I didn’t realize that it was for twice the amount of food. Fortunately it started popping half way through and I was able to remove it just in time. The microwave did do well on the popcorn setting. The default time was perfect. When the kitchen timer is set, the countdown time remains visible on the screen and doesn’t revert to the clock time as with other microwaves I’ve used - which is a plus. I wasn’t able to set it to seconds - just minutes. The interior is dark gray, which makes it difficult to see what’s inside, even with the light on. I prefer a white interior for that reason. The Sharp microwave functions well and has the power to heat food quickly, but some of the shortcuts and special functions are designed for larger families or for people who eat more than we do. I would recommend reading the manual and weighing food portions when first using this microwave to determine if the presets are compatible with your portion sizes.

Doesn’t have enough power. Definitely doesn’t seem like 1000watts

My immediate observation is how quiet this microwave is compared to the one it is replacing. The hum of its operation is quiet enough to have a conversation over without feeling like you need to raise your voice. The timer and cooking beep is very loud though. I couldn’t find a way to interrupt its beeping by pressing buttons or opening it. But it DOES have a way to turn the beep off entirely with silent mode! Just press and hold 8 for three seconds. It’s a smaller form factor microwave which is good for people with limited counter space or multiple appliances. It might make it tricky for some larger dinner plates, but if you’re microwaving that much food at a time it’s probably best to split it up amongst plates anyway. It surpassed my expectations for power in such a small size. It really manages to deliver a strong heating performance with its 1,000 watt design. This is key for shorter cook times and getting your food warmed up the first time instead of having to put it back in. Careful with popcorn! It heats in just 2 minutes depending how cooked you want it. I wish there was a way to turn off the LED screen on the front.

Just shy of 30 days of use, and that's not everyday, the button to open the door barely works. sometimes, I'm not sure it's going to open at all. Very disappointed.

This product is not good at all. When I try to heat milk or coffee etc, maybe for like 3 minutes it explodes inside. When it comes to warming up food I have to put it on for like 7 minutes or more.
