Great entry level 4k
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this tv for around 4 months now and it's great. The TV picture quality is very good with rich colors, the best display in the price rang by far , better than entry point samsungs for example. Smart tv is really easy to use especially if you've got Netflix. I wish I'd bought another for my bedroom when it was on sale.

Internet card out,..Day 35 can't return.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Internet card will not connect, it did however work flawlessly for 33 days, picture was good, sony 43" 4k is better but I decided to save 200 bucks, the remote has important buttons with raised domes enabling volume changes in the dark, nice touch, it feels a little flimsy but i like that its light and not bulky, add small led to make it solid. The set up is a little quirky and menus need work. If you use Hulu a lot it's a pain, no app, Netflix is great with its own button also great for the 4k content. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty otherwise I would've been out of luck dealing with Sharp and returns, Bestbuy.com was great with a quick walk through on the phone, the guy orders parts to be sent to my home and tech will be here in 6 days to fix, that's a little longer than I'd prefer but it would have been worse sending it off. Father in law has a 65" Sharp that looks great so I gave them a chance in our master bedroom but if this darn TV goes out again I'll spring for the better Sony and put Sharp behind me, I'm a one chance kinda guy so all you companies Nickel and diminig quality parts should take notice, especially with parts dealing with WiFi as most people prefer these size tv's on the wall with no cables showing so you know thone parts will get a solid workout. I will say the pictures is very good and if near a wired connection a good deal when considering 4k's in this size, maybe it's a fluke? I'd give it a 3.75 if this card would not have gone out.

Poor connection to Smart Aps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all the online reviews and the only common issue I saw was the flimsy remote complaint. The remote is somewhat flimsy but I have bought Sharp products before and had a good experience so I wanted to make the investment for the Sharp Aquous TV. The TV connected to my internet once I had set it up, but did not connect to the smart aps on the TV. I called the customer service line and he walked me through resetting the TV etc. Once he could not figure out what was wrong he suggested that a technician come out and fix the TV. As I had bought a brand new TV I did not want to have to have somebody come and fix the TV so I took it back to Best Buy for a new TV of the same model. Now I have the second TV set up and I am still having the same issue. I am considering returning this one as well as customer service is still unable to help me with the problem. I would seek other options for future buyers.

Ok as a HT monitor, bad for everything else..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up with the intention to use it as an HDMI PC monitor. $549 for 3840x2160 is a compelling proposition. However the rendering latency from HDMI to screen is so severe that it renders this literally UNUSABLE for any interactive use. Other reviews have pointed this out for gaming but even when moving the mouse cursor around on the screen the lag is so severe you're constantly overshooting the target and need to slow down and hunt especially for smaller targets which is the norm given a workspace rendered at this resolution. Even in PC or GAME mode the latency is so severe I can't imagine anyone tolerating this for any interactive work WHATSOEVER. As a TV it would be ok but the user interface through THE ABSOLUTE WORST REMOTE EVER TO LEAVE THE MIND OF MANKIND torpedoes it here too. There are no numeric keys except for a spectacularly clumsy on screen virtualized keypad which you will HATE WITH A PASSION after changing channels a few times. The layout of the remote is also rather counter-intuitive and poorly designed for a subdued light viewing room. It also one of the most shamelessly cost reduced remotes I've ever seen. The backlight type is edge fed which is ok for video viewing at about 6+ foot distance. But as a PC monitor you'll be sitting at a typical ~30" distance given a normal desktop font size. However in doing so the edges of the screen will be viewed considerably off-perpendicular with yourself positioned at the screen's centre. Unfortunately the backlight distribution of the edge-fed design doesn't fair well when the screen is viewed this much off-perpendicular and you'll want to move yourself around when viewing portions of the screen to overcome this limitation. As a home theater monitor where you're just watching video rendered my something else at a normal TV viewing distance and NEVER NEEDING TO DEAL WITH THE WORLD'S MOST CONVOLUTED REMOTE AND USER INTERFACE, this tv may work out for you. I'm a long time Sharp customer and every other HDTV I own is a Sharp. But this tv so completely misses the mark for me it is getting a ride to BestBuy and I'm going to try a slightly more expensive Vizio M43-C1 which others claim has ultra low latency and full back-fed LED lighting. Note for those intending to use a 4K UHD TV as a computer monitor, 40~43" is just about the right size for desk use. If you are intending to view at greater distances the increased resolution may be moot as you'll need to scale fonts, icons, etc.. larger to be comfortably viewable at this distance. And a 40~43 is about a large as you'll want to go given the prospect of the monitor sitting on or behind (recommended) a typical work desk. Another usability issue likely not particular to this unit is when a PC's screensaver winks out cutting HDMI drive the tv won't enter standby. Well you can configure it to power off after 15m which is half of the battle (sort of). But it won't snap back on when the screen is reenabled and the HDMI drive is restored. So you'll get more quality time with that GOD FORSAKEN REMOTE manually turning on the tv every time the screen saver kicks in. This may be addressable if using a more HDMI aware video card but it wasn't in my case.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture excellent price. Good color reproduction and no lag even when playing video games. Good blacks and grey reproduction. Pictures clear and sharp even on low resolution over the air channels not in HD. Great upscaling to near 4K on all signals!

Great TV for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this for our bedroom because we needed the existing unit elsewhere and wanted something slightly larger. This has not disappointed. It is the perfect size for a medium to larger bedroom and sits nicely on the stands. We plan to mount it eventually but just haven't gotten to it yet. The picture quality is great. Even older shows that channels are increasing the broadcast quality of the best they can look clear and sharp. The sound quality seems to be at the top end, too. It doesn't need to be turned up loud to be heard nicely. We keep it lower at night because our baby is still in a crib in our room, and it never has woken her up yet and we can hear it great at low volumes. Having all of the input choices is great, too. Part of why we wanted something new was to be able to plug in the cable box, AppleTV, an auxiliary DVD/BD player, etc, and the older TV only had two HDMI inputs. Lots of choices on this one make it nice to have what we want plugged in.

Don't buy a Sharp
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously, don't. When the picture stops working after the warranty expires (by three days or so), they'll just tell you that it's probably just as cost-effective to buy a new one rather than actually looking into the problem. Luckily for them and unluckily for everyone else, most people don't want to take the time (or know how) to tear apart the TV in order to diagnose and (hopefully) fix the problem. And if you leave a comment about why Sharp TVs are terrible, they'll be like, "Hello, I am very sorry to hear you are having a problem with your new WHATEVER-MODEL-IS-CURRENTLY-IN-STORES. Please send your contact information to us at [email protected] and we will arrange for an AQUOS Advisor to reach out to you for assistance." That's cool and all, and you can do that, but when they contact you, they still just say to replace the TV because it's just as cost-effective. Then you post a comment. You can see where this is going. Sharp TVs may be cheaper than the rest. That's because they're CHEAPER than the rest. You get what you pay for.

Not smart enough
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to let everyone know that I purchased this last week and will be taking it back soon, both Sharp's and the Best Buy website's indicate it has a web browser. After 4 calls to the Sharp USA hotline and having to explain my problem to them they have determined that it does not have one. There should be a correction to the website so people do not continue to be misinformed. The TV does have a nice picture, just not web browsing capability.

Outstanding TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best tv I have ever owned. The colors pop and the picture is very clear. I love watching movies on my new 43 inch tv. 4k content is ridiculous. Don't listen to the negative reviews. You will not be disappointed with this tv.

Doesn't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply the worst TV I have ever owned. This TV won't stay on any input but the antenna. Whenever the TV is turned on, it lands on the last input used, then after 3 seconds, it switches to the antenna input. When another input is selected from the horrible remote, it switches to the right input, then after 3 seconds, it switches back to antenna. I filed a claim and had a repair man swap out the mother board and it still has the same problem. He said that they would replace the TV, but my case is in limbo and they wont give me a replacement or fix it. I call in and am told that my case is being reviewed. It has been in review for weeks. I will never buy another Sharp product.

Just a good view
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a great picture but, the remote is cheap and there is a delay when pushing the buttons. Also, after 5-10 minutes, the sound drops out for no reason. I asked the sales person about this and he said he never heard of it....it must have been a fluke thing....WRONG! Now I have to take it off the wall and package the entire thing up and return it. Not happy

Disappointing Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Picture quality. Sound is okay. Cons: Interface is not very user friendly. Advertising/item description claims to have "X apps and more" but in reality there isn't "more" and there is no capability through the TV to get additional apps (confirmed through conversation with Sharp employee). Also no satisfaction or practical use with the internet browser - allows you to go to pages but no functionality for streaming online for the apps that are missing. Keyboard does not even have an "@" option to be able to log in to sites such as rifftrax or email servers. If you are looking for a Smart TV with options for Hulu, Amazon, and functional web usage, do not purchase this TV. The sharp employee did advise me that I could get a smart box like Roku to go with my TV for the additional apps; but then what was the purpose of getting a smart TV in the first place? I will be returning this product asap.

Excellent Choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has a great picture. Lots of features and was SO easy to set up. I thought it would take longer to get set up with our wifi but we had the TV set up and was on Netflix within minutes. Love it!

Horrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a horrible purchase: 1) The remote was flimsy and you had to directly point to the TV for it to work. It is black and no back-lighting so it was hard to see what you are doing in the dark. 2) Could not get the remote app to work. I read on another comment that there is work to get the firmware updated to fix the issue, but God knows how long before that comes about. 3) The audio would go off. I thought it was the cable box or the HDMI cable, but sadly the problem carried into the built in Netflix App. Only way to get the audio back is to turn off the tv for a bit and turn it back on. it happened many times within the 14 days. I got fed up with it and returned it for a different TV from Vizio.

Beware - Does NOT get Hulu
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was told by two different salespeople that we could download Hulu (since the logo wasn't on the box). Get it home, mount it, call Aquos support and lo and behold, you can't download ANY apps on to this TV.

My third and last Sharp Tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've bought the third Sharp Tv and best one they've had at the time. There's always been at least one issue. On this on, the interactive TV guide only changes your channel correctly If its a TiVo (should say TiVo only on box). So you have to manually change it with your remote or it changes it to a different channel. But it's funny that when you set it up that it asks what your cable/satellite provider is when setting up the remote link
