Picture quality is good depending on what and how you're watching something. Picture quality through my cable box, which is Xfinity, is good. The apps you can use through the Comcast box are good (Netflix). Android TV is where this falls flat. Using the apps through the TV itself are abhorrent. Netflix, YouTube, Google Movies while being run through the Android TV are worse than awful. I pay for a 4k Netflix account and for whatever reason, Netflix through android TV looks especially bad. Like on par with standard def bad. Meanwhile Netflix through the Comcast box running regular HD, not 4k, looks far and away superior to the netflix app through android TV. And it's not my connection. I am hardwired on a 300mpbs (confirmed through speed test) connection. Running the network test in the netflix settings through the Android TV app confirms a good speed as well. So in short I cannot use this as a smart TV which defeats the purpose. I'll have to buy a 4k roku or something to supplement the apps I want to watch because they are beyond unwatchable through android tv. I regret having bought this. My other tv is a LG with webos which is also far superior quality to that of android tv. Do not buy this TV if you're planning on using the preinstalled apps.
