Better than the competition in the price range
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything is great so far. Speakers are in facing backwards (not downwards.) Sound bounces off the wall behind the TV. This is better than the down facing speakers in my old Samsung TV and the newer LG TV (see pics.) Android TV is easy to use and it didn't take long to explore how it works and it's features. This TV actually comes with mounting screws installed, unlike Samsung and LG TVs. We mounted this on a wall. It took me an hour to install it but it was worth the effort. This TV is heavy. Two people needed to mount it. Remote works very well right out of the box with IR. There is no lag. It can also be paired for using the mic. Pairing takes 10 seconds. I really like to browse channels using Android TV, however I still need to my Roku 3 for it's Private Listening feature of it's Enhanced Remote during the quiet times. The processor is pretty quick. Apps open instantly. Ethernet connected Right away and Wifi can detect far away neighbor's routers. The first thing that the TV did was a Software Update. Something that brand name OS's stop after a few years. My 2011 Samsung Smart TV hasn't seen a software update since six – seven years. The remote is small and ergonomic (I can easily hold it in one hand while pressing buttons.) However, the back button on the remote is oddly placed on the top-left corner of the directional keys similar to Roku remote. On most TV remotes the back button is on the bottom-left corner. I still haven't gotten used to this back button even though I am used to the Roku remote. Bluetooth 5.0 is an added plus since I can use my Bluetooth headphones but I prefer the Roku because the wireless transceiver on it's remote is away from my head. Tuning over the air channels is fast and and uncomplicated unlike other TVs. The tuner in my experience is better than other TVs and players. Somehow it can catch more channels than my other TVs. Of course I connected an antenna to do this. Over the air TV in my area are mostly SD or HD. So to try 4K I checked out some demos on YouTube and I am amazed by the details and brightness. A sophisticated TV in my experience except for the missing ambient light sensor (local dimming) that was on my 2011 55" Samsung 6 series. I'm glad that there are options to manually adjust levels in Picture and Audio in the “User More” which is missing in my 2019 LG 7 series. In the daytime I switch to Energy Saver which is still bright enough for my well lite room and at night I switch to “User More” where I have reduced the brightness even further. Picture quality is better than the 2011 Samsung HD 55" 6 series and even the 2019 LG 43" HDR 4K 7 series. Each input can have it's own picture and audio settings which I really like. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. TV delivery by BestBuy was a nice experience in itself. This TV is Made in Mexico which is unique these days. I think Sharp has put a lot of effort in this TV I am glad I bought it.

Decent but has its issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this on sale during the holidays when it was $499. That’s already a good price for this size range of TVs, but of course you can expect some things to not be perfect. *Owned and used for about a month now. Pros: The size is great, an upgrade from our previous Sharp 58". Also, the picture is nice, clear, and bright when it needs to be (HD/4K streaming & Blu-Ray/4K discs) The ports are a standout as well. 4 HDMI, 2 USB, antenna, optical audio and composite. All you need in one unit. Ease of use. First-time Android TV user, very simple to get used to. Cons: The most noticeable downside (for my unit) is the horizontal banding/lines on the TV. I’ve researched and found it could be the panel and/or connections but not entirely sure. I’ve included photos, the first is an all black screen (it looks blue the way I edited it) but you can see all the horizontal lines. The second photo is when actual content is playing on screen, you can still see the banding/lines. I don’t mind slight light leak (which this unit kind of has) but the banding is off-putting. I thought it was a bad HDMI connection (I use a Roku as well) but the lines are always present no matter what input it’s on; HDMI/Blu-Ray, antenna, or the TV’s own native streaming apps. It’s most noticeable during dark scenes and every movement when the camera pans. Another con is when streaming, there’s lag every now and then. I don’t have the best wifi but this wasn’t an issue on our previous Sharp (Hisense) Even my casual (not tech-savvy) housemates notice the downsides I mentioned every time we watch TV. And the second night of owning this, it completely froze with a black screen but I could still hear the remote clicking sounds. I did somehow get the TV to reset and hasn’t happened again. One more is off-angle viewing. Sitting at any angle, the picture can seem washed out compared to sitting directly in front of it head on. I’m not trying to bash this TV or brand but as you can tell by my review, there are issues with it. $499 might not seem like much but when you pay that much for something, you’d hope it’d be decent. I like Sharp, a new AQUOS TV was tempting and got it. I realize this is their first effort back into home entertainment in years but it’s a downer when things don’t go the way it should. Hoping I’m not the only one experiencing this. I believe I’m past the return/exchange window so I’m not sure what I can do at this point. I only waited to see if the issues would improve or go away. If you’re going to spend $500 or more, I’d say just go further and get a better set I assume. I want to try other brands but I’ll see what I can do about this if I even can.

Terrible light bleed, remote ruin experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The experience of the brilliant bright and sharp 4K images is completely undone by the horrible/inexcusable light bleed and splotchy dark screen. My 12 yr old 1080p Aquos LCD set has lesser light bleed than this. When the stunning visuals of the 'Jungle' episode on 'Planet Earth II' turn to the dark night footage of the glowing insects, you realize that the insects are not the only thing glowing in the dark, your screen is too. To an annoying level of distraction, One of the absolutely perplexing 'feature' of this set is the inability to modify display settings while in an app. While on the home screen, a bunch of clicks on the remote takes you to the top right hand side settings menu from where another few clicks get you to contrast, brightness etc settings. When you are in a HDMI input mode (from a UHD player for instance), its a different sequence where you hit the 'Tools' button on the remote, scroll all the way to the right for settings to change display settings. But while in an app, there is no dedicated menu or remote button to get to display settings - tried all possible remote buttons but to no avail - you have to stop the content, get out of the app or hit home on the remote, change settings and then restart the app. All these fancy OSes managing TVs and they can't get a routine remote->TV operation right ? Tried my 12 yr old set's remote on this - all the functions work except for the 'Menu' button - the settings function seems to have been disabled from being a remote control initiated operation. Budget TV it certainly is but the compromise to the user experience, especially routine operations that have been perfected since the dawn of remote controlled TVs, is way too much to bear. I did not have the laggy remote control experience that other users have claimed - remote button response was quick and spot on from an approximately 16' viewing distance. This TV goes back

Sharp 70in TV - I love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the TV is great for the price. You may have to make minor adjustments to the picture and sound but honestly I do to almost all TVs. It's big and looks good in a space that a big TV can compliment. I like the remote style and all the apps on the TV. I recommend this TV to anyone that wants the size and a bang for their buck!

Great TV for the lrice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We decided to upgraded our 48" Sony since it was starting to flicker randomly, the fact this is Android is great as I can download apps I usually use. Video wise the image is clear and picture quality is great, having the speakers on the back makes the sound bounce off the wall. TV does lag sometimes but I'm assuming is because Android bloated nature, we do have some 4k uhd movies and they look great. The remote is a bit funny looking but again, can't complaint for the price. For videogame the TV looks fantastic and it even does a good job upscaling images from older consoles. As a side note the best buy crew was very professional when they dropped the TV, they handled it with care and i didn't even had to sign anything!

Q: QuestionIs this TV made by hisense or in the ex hisense plant in Mexico or is it assembled by foxconn? Is this based on the old Sharp branded hisense tv's?
Asked by Jeffrey.
- A:Answer They said is manufactured in Mexico. But I have the strong feeling the LCD panel is 100% Japanese. I was investigating all over their worldwide websites and this series (4TC60/C70) BK, AH and AL are available in Japan and Malaysia.

Asked by QuestionAsker1234.
