Little clunky and heavy but I am not that strong. It holds a good amount of charge and has great options for neck pain, back pain and shin pain. Really good price at Best Buy compared to other places. Very good place to advance from the wired handheld massagers and pretty good place to stay at if you like cordless and your massage needs are met within an hour of massage with this tool.

This massage gun is well worth the buy, I wasn’t sure how powerful it would be until I used it. It has 7 different speeds and it already came half charged. Don’t miss out on this item, it will change your life.

Battery life is very impressive, it lasts through multiple uses. The attachments are easy to change and work great for massaging different areas. The carrying case is a nice touch but I tend to find it tedious to get it all put away as everything fits very precisely. All in all a great massager at this price point.

Well built and it’s very effective! I play guitar a lot. I use this on my hands, neck shoulders and arms. It works great! It’s hard to find in our house. My sons use it after workouts and my daughter uses it after working all day. I was a massage therapist. I wish I had this when I was working. The dogs don’t like it. But it made a cute photo!

Perfect massager for home gym or gear bag

I really like this portable, deep tissue massager. The Sharper Image Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager is a great addition to any home gym for portable, easy to use, post workout recovery. In the box is the massager, 6 different massage attachments, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, carry case, and instructions. Typically I'm not one for instructions, but I found the attachment guide was perfect for finding the right attachment for every application from shoulders to calves and everything in between. As for the attachments they are: round (low impact), flat (medium impact), fork (high impact), cone (high impact), air compression (low impact) and bar (medium impact). To change the attachment, simply turn and pull, then replace by pressing the attachment into place. The massager has seven different power levels, to start, press on the red dot on the touch screen which will turn on the power. Then tap the same spot on the screen to increase power starting at level one and going up to level seven. To turn off, either press the power button after level seven, or press and hold. This is relatively intuitive, but takes a few uses to get the hang on the touch interface. As for battery status, the screen shows an outer ring around the level number, this ring is the remaining battery life. I was able to use daily for a full week before needing to recharge. Charging is quick and easy through the USB-C port on the bottom of the massager handle. Performance wise, it took a few attempts to get used to the right pressure and attachment combo. I do like that when I apply increased pressure the massager automatically increases speed and doesn't get bogged down or stall. We have found two very different uses for the massager. I use it post workout to relieve stiffness and my husband uses it to help with knots. My husband has had multiple back surgeries with hardware in his lower back, and is always complaining of stiffness or knots forming. At first I was hesitant to use the deep tissue massager for concerns of soreness around the hardware, however he says the massager is perfect, it alleviates pain in areas where he cannot get the muscle to move with stretching or massage rollers. Overall, the massager feels well crafted and balanced, in addition to being easy to hold, while the attachments deliver multiple options to aid in recovery and reduce soreness. I find that the Powerboost is a great home gym addition, or throw it in your gym bag or hiking gear for on the go soreness relief that is portable and easy to use.

Although the case isn’t super sturdy, it was nice to have a case for the massager and attachments. My previous massager didn’t come with a case. A USB charging cord is included and a nice instruction manual with detailed information on the attachments. It is helpful when a manual is included. Read the manual. It helps to guide you in which attachment may be best for your sore muscles. Six attachments are included. The round attachment is a good beginner attachment. More low impact and can be used in more areas. The fork can be very helpful for shoulders and is high impact. They were my two favorites. There are seven speeds, but start on the lower speeds and you can increase intensity as you go. Keep in mind that too much intensity will make you very sore if you are not used to it. Charging can take about 3 hours if fully discharged. Battery life is supposed to be around 3 hours but I found that this varies by intensity level. My maximum use time was about 1 hour 45 minutes. Intensity levels 3-4 were my most common ones, although I tested every speed and attachment. I have owned 2 previous massagers. The first was a wand style and not deep impact. It was good for a general massage. Then I switched to a deep tissue massager by another brand and it was excellent and even has a heated head attachment. This massager ranks between the two. The Powerboost offers a deep tissue massage that can really work the muscles. But it is more jumpy and can be harder to hold and control on the highest intensity speeds. The touch controls can also be finicky and not respond. But that fork attachment does wonders to relieve tension between the shoulder blade area. This mid-level deep tissue massager does a great job if you follow the usage recommendations in the instructions. Just keep a firm grip.

Love This Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager

To be honest, I didn't know I needed a hand held massager, but I honestly don't know how I've lived this long without one. This Powerboost Deep Tissue massager from Sharper Image is becoming a daily use item in my household. It's deep tissue, with simple operation, which comes with 6 specialized attachments, which includes: -Round: Impacts large areas, such as Glutes, Arms, Thighs and Back -Flat: Hammer-like impact for deeper tissues, for areas such as Chest, Shoulders and Back -Fork: Dual impact to rock from side to side on muscle knots, for areas such as Shoulders, Bicep, Calves and Feet -Cone: Pinpoint impact for intense muscle penetration, for areas such as Feet, Calves and Trigger Spots -Air Compression: Soft impact for gentle stimulation, which is good for all areas -Bar: Hammer-Like impact for deeper recovery, which is good for Chest, Shoulders and Back Out of the box, all this goodness to promote physical relief comes in a nice cloth hard case, which stores everything neatly and securely. You could pack it neatly in a suitcase and take it on a trip. The first thing you'll want to do is plug it in to charge, with the supplied USB A to USB C charging cord. It took a couple hours to charge the first time. And there's a round circle which fills in as the charge level goes up, until the circle is fully closed when fully charged. You are advised to NOT use the massager while it's being charged. Using it is very simple. Simply pull any attachment out and push and turn in the attachment you need until it locks in place. There's a simple power button in the back of the massager, highlighted in orange. Touch it for one second and the remaining charge and power level lights up. Then rapid tap it individually to move up the power levels and ENJOY a sublime pulsing massage. It's really that simple. A charge will go for about 3 continuous hours (not that you could or should use it for that amount of time) before needing to be recharged and it doesn't seem to lose much, if any charge when not being used for a couple days. The massager is very ergonomic and lightweight, so easy to hold and use on yourself. Though you may need someone to help with areas your arms can't reach easily. It's very quiet, yet powerful. Like I said, I don't know how I've lived this long without owning a nice compact, powerful, versatile, quiet and oh so effective hand massager. But now that I've got this Sharper Image Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager, this jewel of a massager won't be hiding in a closet, never being used. I've had it a few weeks and I've had to recharge the battery a few times. It's that good!

Sharper Image - Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager -

TL;DR: 1. USE: Charge it, turn it on, enjoy decreased pain 2. SETUP: Charge it before initial use (less than 1 hour) 3. Usability: It’s easy. It’s not too heavy, but may be depending on your dexterity 4. It’s well made, feels good in the hand and looks premium I have been using the Sharper Image - Powerboost Deep Tissues Massager in black for about 3 weeks. This was to replace a generic, low-priced competitor, as the competitor’s battery life was never great and getting worse. I would get 10-20 minutes max out of it before it would need to be fully recharged with the supplied cable, or it wouldn’t fully charge. This Sharper Image model is significantly lighter, has excellent battery life, works as expected and comes with a high quality and attractive looking case with a built in holder for all its attachments, all the attachments you need including a USB-C charging cable and cheat sheets to help ensure you know how to properly use the massager. It has a nice heft and quality build to its soft, matte finish body and textured, soft rubber handle grip. The charcoal and black color with orange accents, including on the attachments are a very nice color scheme. The battery life is excellent. When I first got it, I followed the instructions and fully charged it before using. After the first use, which was roughly 20 minutes, the battery level didn’t drop at all. I charged it to ensure it was fully charged. Since, I’ve used it about 3 times a week for 5-10 minutes and haven’t recharged it at all. Very impressive! To turn it on, there is a red pressure sensored circle you press for a couple seconds. It turns on to level zero. To activate it to work you, press the circle once per level. After Level 7, it returns to the standby level, Level 00. To fully turn is off, you press and hold the red circle. In use, per the instructions, I have just used the circular/ball head. My lower left back is my main pain area. Using this between low and low/medium (1 - 3). It has a max of 7 speed adjustment. It has helped ease tension complementing exercises I also do. Overall, I’m happy with the Sharper Image massager. I have noticed a decrease in my pain since using it. It has offered better pain management versus the low-priced competitor. I will continue to use this in my exercise routine.

The PowerBoost deep tissue massager is a nice kit that comes with six attachments. It has 7 different speeds. It has a touch-screen LED display. What I like the most is it comes with a carrying case where everything fits and I can store it away easily when not in use. This case makes it easy for me to also bring it with me when I’m travelling. It comes with a charging cable – USB–A to USB–C. The LED display is nice, bright and easy to understand. The numbers indicate what speed level it is on. Touching the screen will increase it by one. The outer lines that surround the display is the battery indicator. The red circle is the power button. It is not a physical button but rather it has haptic feedback. This is my only complaint with the device or maybe a suggestion for future versions. You must press and hold to turn on and turn off. Because just pressing it will adjust the speed. I would prefer to have the power button somewhere else. An actual, physical button instead of holding/pressing this red circle. It is difficult to do this when the massager is on because it is shaking – specially at high speeds. It takes more effort to turn it off as my finger would move around from the intense movement of the device. My favorite attachments are the round and bar attachments for my back. Overall, it’s a nice little massager. Hopefully, they improve the on/off switch.

If you know anything about fitness. You have probably heard that rehab & recovery are very important parts of the process. As lifting heavy, jogging , and even stretching, can make changes to your body. And when change occurs, the body usually responds in the form of pain. That's growth. That soreness is growth. Mostly positive, if you're doing it right. Backstory I've been lifting weights and doing general physical fitness for 10 years or more now. And I've found that a good massage can change your life after a hard workout week or even session. That's where a good muscle gun comes into play. The pulsing hammer on the right body parts can bring about a comfort that those tough hairy knuckled masseuse guys will ever be. Now, don't get me wrong. Thright hands with the right touch can be well worth the price of admittance. But a good percussion massager will pay for itself in no-time flat. I’ve used a couple of these hammer massage guns in the many years of my fitness journey and I honestly find it very difficult to do without one now. The Power Boost Plus Percussion Massager is a very good machine and it is really affordable. That 2nd part is very important, as these kinds of things can get really pricey, really quickly. As you can see. There are 6 attachments for this gun. This is standard. So don't think that's what makes this one more special than other guns. And just like those other ones, the attachments can work on multiple areas of the body. You don't have to switch out pieces every time you go to a different muscle. Now there are benefits to using the attachments as suggested, but only in the right hands of someone that knows your body. The 7 speeds of pulse go from a comfy chop style to pulsing intensity. Start slow and you'll be fine as you intensify the pulse over the duration of the session. It can be used by yourself, but I feel it's best when someone else uses it on you. That way, they can reach many areas without you having to stretch.( which basically defeats the purpose of the whole massage.) I mean, you want to be comfortable, right? The massager comes with some of those accessories and a sweet little carrying case for it all. Note: This is yet another product that doesn't come with a charging brick. Come-on guys.. The good news is that it comes out of the box with nearly a full charge, but I still recommend giving it a full charge. You're only going to get 2 to 3 hours per charge, so make the most of it. Plus, you shouldn't be messaging anything for that long, anyway. I have to say this. There are better guns out there, with more power and maybe a couple of more features that suit your needs. But for the price, this is an excellent massager. It's a great piece of equipment. I think it's a great gift as well. So get one for the ones you love that are on that journey.

Good Mid Range Massager with Plenty of Tips

In our house, someone always has back or leg pain, so I finally decided to pick up one of these handheld massager guns to see if it would help alleviate the pain. I wanted one that was easy to use, had different tips, and wouldn’t break the bank. So, I landed on the Sharper Image PowerBoost Deep Tissue Massager as it seemed to fit those 3 criteria. Pros: - Simple and easy to use. - Multiple massage tips with carrying case. - Long Battery Life. Cons: - Tips are a bit harder than preferred and grip skin too much. - Low power rhythm is a bit rough, higher power is smoother. The PowerBoost is easy to use with only 1 button; Long Press to turn on and off and quick tap while on to increase the power. There are 7 levels of power, after 7 the massage gun will return to power level 0. The handle fits well in the hand and makes it easy to maneuver the tip. In long sessions, it does make your hand feel a bit numbish, but I found it was comfortable for under 30mins of use at the right setting. I found that at a power level of 3 or 4 the massage gun felt better for both the one receiving the massage and the person holding the massager, something about the rhythm on the lower settings made it feel a bit too rough. The charge is easy to check as it’s indicated by the circle on the back of the massage gun around the touch screen where the power button is. Charging was easy with a USB C charger, and quick as it only took an hour to charge up to full, but that was with a partial charge already. Sharper Image lists the battery life as up to 3 hours, which seems accurate based on my use. I ran the massage gun for an hour and had roughly two thirds left. The PowerBoost Deep Tissue Massager comes with 6 interchangeable tips which store nicely into the included carrying case. Each tip is good for targeting different muscles areas, though be careful as even though some of the tips have a little give like the flat and rounded, when they hit bone it’s not very comfortable. My biggest complaint is the material used for the tips is too hard, like the flat and round tips, or grip the skin too much to be used directly on the skin. Within the first few tests, I did give myself rug burn while using the massager directly on the skin. I think some of the harder tips could be lubricated to make for a better experience, but then it would make a rather big mess. Overall, I’m happy with the Sharper Image Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager, it hits all my needs while not breaking the bank, but I could see more sports focused customers being less than satisfied with the performance. I’d recommend this as a gift for the average joe, or your parents, but would suggest other models for those who are semi-pro athletes or fitness gurus as this massager is just a basic model good for your average person.

This thing will definitely work the kinks out of you. Beat them out if you are not careful with it. Over the years my wife and I have used several different back and muscle massagers to work out the kinks, but this thing is different from anything we have used before. So please keep that in mind when reading my review. It doesn’t vibrate, roll or rotate over your back or anything. It pounds you. Hence the name, Deep Impact. It operates more like a reciprocating saw. If you could put a saw blade in it, I’m sure it could keep up with one. It comes with 6 attachments and it’s all kept in the included custom case that has the inside molded to hold the attachments and charging cable. Build quality feels very solid for the device and its attachments. It fits your hand well, turning it on and using it is easy and the power level display is very cool. The attachments fit snugly and secure, but do require some effort to remove and insert them. This is good because you don’t want them flying out or working loose. A loose fit would cause them to wear and become even more loose and not stay in. Probably rattle around and be noisy too. I don’t see that happening with this equipment. The manual says it will speed up and not stall when pressure is applied to the unit. And it does exactly that. Having never used this exact type of device, we had to learn how to use it. As in where to use, what attachment to use, what speeds and how much pressure to apply. The manual tells you this information. One thing you must be aware of is that if you don’t keep a certain amount of pressure on the part of the body you’re using it on, it can start bouncing. At higher speeds it could cause possible bruising by bouncing. So read the instructions and use care when using the device. Holding the red power dot on the flat surface back for 1 second or more turns it on. The bar graph around the edge shows battery life and the digits in the center show speed. You touch the power dot repeatedly to cycle through the speeds and power off. Or hold it over a few seconds to turn it off at any speed. See photos It comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and states that it takes 3 hours to fully charge. It didn’t state a charge percentage starting point. Say from 15% to full is 3 hours. It recommended 10 minutes of use. I’m sure runtime will depend on speed used and how hard you use it. Conclusion is I think this thing does its job and does it well for its intended purpose. Once we learned to use it and got used to using it, it did a great job at working the kinks out of certain areas. My elderly mother lives with us and she sits in a chair a lot and that makes her back hurt. This device has helped her a lot when used on her back between her spine and shoulders on the lowest setting. I recommend this product. Just make sure you know exactly what it does and that it’s what you need because it’s a powerhouse!

Good massager – getting it dialed in a challenge

The Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager ships in a handsome black carrying case with handle, a USB-C charging cord, and 6 changeable heads that should facilitate relieving what ails you. Don’t be afraid to swap massager heads and adjust motor speed. This is definitely a situation where the right tool for the job and correct approach make all the difference. You need to be willing to experiment and determine what works for you. The massager has a display that tells the remaining battery charge via a multi-segment readout around its perimeter (see photo). The center has a numeric indicator of motor speed, 1-7, which corresponds with low to high power settings. Initial setup couldn’t be easier. Plug it into an available USB-C charger and wait for the easy-to-read display to tell you charging is complete – a couple hours for me. My first experience with the massager had me massaging my wife’s back. My instinct was to apply the massager perpendicular to her back. She immediately told me to stop. The head-on approach was too aggressive, regardless of motor speed. Varying massager head, application angle, and motor speed delivered tension-relieving results. Given the pistol-shaped design, self-massage is also an option; there are only a couple areas of my back/shoulders that I can’t reach myself. Battery life has been impressive. After multiple daily uses over the course of this week, it is still going strong. There’s definitely a learning curve, but my overall impression of the Powerboost Deep Tissue Massager is positive and I would recommend it.
