The Sharper Image Steamer Sauna is a great and extremely portable sauna that fills fairly quick with steam and does an excellent job of containing all of the steam. This makes it a great choice for anyone looking for a sauna for their household that can be easily assembled, disassembled, and moved anywhere that you prefer or need. Included is a collapsible chair that allows you to comfortably sit while inside of the sauna, while I am not sure what the exact weight rating is for this chair I can tell you that I weigh about 275 and I had no feeling of instability on this chair. The steam takes approximately 15 minutes to fully fill the portable sauna, this really depends on the ambient temperature. For something this portable I feel like that is extremely impressive, the steam fully saturates the sauna and I could not find any points where it was leaking out of the exterior. I am impressed with the build quality and portability of this sauna and would absolutely recommend this to anyone that is looking for a sauna for exercise or health benefits.

Who would've ever thought we'd have a sauna in the comfort of our own home!! Well, Sharper Image made that a reality and we got a chance to give it a try. We recently made the move to a bigger home. So, we decided to give the Sharper Image Steamer Sauna Portable Spa a try. I have to say, I am really impressed at how this portable sauna has been working, and my wife is loving it. It comes with everything you need to get it started...including the chair!! I was a bit skeptical about how sturdy the enclosure was, but the frame really holds it up well. Setup can take a little longer than expected, but it really is easy to setup. Pop up the frame, zip up the enclosure, fill the steamer with water, and you will be up and going in no-time. My wife broke the Sharper Image Steamer Sauna Portable Spa in first. She really found it enjoying an relaxing. I went in next and have also enjoyed it. I have been using this thing after work almost on a daily basis. We'll see if all of the benefits really kick in soon.

Like my title says and one of a few reasons why I am only giving this 2 stars. This was hard to put together. I thought I put it together wrong because of this. First part was fairly easy with just putting the base together with the poles. But once that was together it was difficult putting the outer piece on. This was because the material was the exact size as the poles were. They should have maybe had the longer poles a 1/4-1/2 inch less in size. This would then have given a 1/2 to 1 inch of wiggle room. Once I was able to finally get the bottom part together, the next challenge was getting the piece up and over the base. Again, due to being the exact size, it was a stretch to get it over and then trying to zip it. I just was not impressed having to put this together, especially for something with Portable in its name. Taking it down after it was put up and used was a lot easier and seems to have stretched out a tad bit to give it that extra wiggle room. However, the poles are not the easiest to take apart and this did not come with any kind of storage bag other than the box it came in. Again, for being portable, I felt it should have had a bag. I also personally would have liked to maybe see it with a more rectangle shape over the square. This would allow maybe a little more leg room. If you are tall, it might be a bit cramped. Lastly the chair. Only a 200lb limit. I was able to sit down in it but I am over that so I would imagine it won't last as long. I am 240lbs. I feel they should have provided a better chair that at least holds 250 maybe up to 275lbs. This also goes back to maybe a rectangle shape to allow a little more room so you might be able to put in a better chair. You can fit a slightly bigger chair, but it would be nice to get a little more room then. But with that, it did work decent. The timer is max 30 min which is perfect. You need to let it warm up so I would set it to the highest setting (9), let it warm up for 15 min. and then hop in with about 15 min left on the timer. When it would go off, it was 15 min then. It was not to bad even on the 9 setting. I was able to sit in it comfortably with no issues at that. It helped my body feel much better after. You will come out moist lol. You can add some scents if you want. If it was for the issue setting it up being so tight, I would have given this 4 stars as the chair with the low limit and not really being that portable. I thought it would be great for an apartment and a lot easier to set up and take down as needed. But that seemed to not have been the case. I would only recommend this if you plan to leave it set up. And if you are bigger, I would suggest a slightly bigger chair than as well.

The Sharper Image Portable Steamer Sauna and Spa is a fantastic concept, and I am excited for what the future holds. I get out of this tent feeling just as good as I do when I hit the sauna at the gym! Daily use of this tent is definitely very convenient and easy, and I love having it in my home. There are some trade offs, but I think they are worth it for the absolute ease of jumping in this without having to leave the house. Setup: The setup is a little complicated, and the instructions are very minimal. It's enough to figure it out, and once you do it's a great little Sauna to have at home. Materials: The overall build quality of the tent is one of the main reasons I did not give this five stars on the review. The durability of the material and the zippers just isn't there, but for the price of the unit I believe it is still a really good deal. Ergonomics: This unit is definitely not designed for a big 6 foot tall guy like myself, I can make it work but it is not super comfortable. If this was about 20% larger, or if they had an XL version I think that would be a better size for larger people. Overall this does a great job of filling the void of not having a sauna in my home. If you can live with some of the minor inconveniences, then the overwhelming convenience of having a sauna in your home for a very low cost is totally worth it.

I quickly recognized that cleaning would be an issue and I was concerned how long it would last. Two of my children are high school and ollege athletes. It just did not look and feel like a heavy duty product.
