The only thing I can complain about is that I was not away you had to pay a monthly fee for the app. Other than that its a great product.

System claims to to be purely dyi but it's not. You can not do any type of self monitoring without a subscription even though they claim you can.

I've had an opportunity to set up and use this great system and I am impressed. My last system cost thousands over the years including equipment and monitoring. This Simplisafe system is affordable and was installed in less than 45 minutes, no tools required. I could have set it up much faster, but I am somewhat of a instructional manual geek and spend more time than most going through the manual before I even touch the product. Setting up consists of plugging in the base, mounting the motion detector, and mounting the entry sensors. Once that is finished, you name each sensor and you are done installing. Next up is to activate alarm monitioring, which I have not done as of yet, but I do plan to soon. 24/7 Monitoring costs $14.99 per month with no long term commitment, and no contracts, period. I believe there is another tier available for monitoring at a slightly higher cost, but don't remember the specifics off the top of my head right now. The only issue I have at this time, is I have searched and searched the Simplisafe site and cannot find anywhere how to purchase add on equipment. The camera is listed, but nothing else. My system is kind of basic with 4 entry sensors and one motion sensor. Eventually I 'd like to add the camera, first on my list, as soon as I have some spare cash. Then I'd like to get another motion sensor, two extra sirens, a panic button, and then eventually a CO2 and smoke detector. But as of now I have no idea where to find them or how much they cost. This could potentially be an issue for some one who wants to budget for a system and add ons. They would have no idea what kind of cost they are facing after the purchase of the system. This is a great system and it has worked flawlessly, not once has it missed a door opening or motion in my livingroom. With the add ons the user guide says are available this has the potential of being one of the best, if not the best, most affordable system you can buy. Look out ADT and others, Simplisafe is here and I recommend anyone concerned with home security go out and get one.

Better keypad with backlighting. And just better overall. Wi-Fi backup is great too!
