We have 3 of these mounted around the outside of our home. They are easy to install in a matter of minutes, alert us to any activity and give us peace of mind.

The camera image quality is okay. It doesn't capture license plates and it's okay with face recognition if you know the person but you wouldn't be able to use this camera footage to identify a stranger. This camera is kinda useless without a second power source. You'll need a solar panel or cable to plug the camera into an outlet outside. The issue is the battery power doesn't last long (2-3 weeks) and you'll have to haul your ladder to take the camera down and charge the battery for 5+ hours and get back on the ladder to put the camera back up. Sure you can buy a spare battery but you'll still need to haul the ladder. If you put the camera within arms reach them it defeats the purpose of having a camera because a perpetrator could just reach up and walk away with the camera. The camera is very slow. No it's not my internet. It's slow inside the house and outside.

Battery needs charging every six weeks or so. The signal cuts off every now and then. I moved the router about ten feet closer(indoor) to the camera, will see. Since then it seems to stay online. I hate mesh wifi c r a p. Waste of money (my opinion). I don’t want to buy another company’s camera and deal with another system. Finger crossed.

Simple, elegant design with high quality lens with wide angle and single tap zoom. Great performance but you definitely need to purchase the optional AC adapter. Battery ratings are are always not realized in real world conditions for any device and you don't want to climb a ladder in the middle of the winter.

I have a simplysafe alarm system at home and wanted to add 2 new outdoor cameras. The cameras are sleek and easy to install and the app is easy to use. Nevertheless the cameras have big lag before they send a notificacion which is bothersome, by the time you open the image on cel its to late. One camera was faulty and would not send notification. Simplysafe customer service said that my internet connection was probably deficient which is not so since I also have a RING camera which notifies immediately. So I returned them to best buy and exchanged for 2 RING cameras. Unfortunately I will have to live with 2 systems, but safer. On outdoor cameras go with RING.

Viedo and sound features are excellent. However, the best of all is the powercord excessory that allowes you to operate all the camera features without fretting about battery rundown as the external power line keeps the battery charged. The price is very reasonable and it connects with me iphone and ipad with no problems. Follow the instructions and be patient during setup and paring with the system.

Finally a true outdoor camera for Simplisafe. It was very easy to install and setup. Basically the same process as other Simplisafe devices. The first one we bought continuously disconnected from the wi-fi and we had to return it. The replacement has worked flawlessly. Nice to have a battery operated camera to avoid messy wiring. Overall the camera works very well and we are satisfied with it.

Great camera, long battery life, and clear picture. Definitely worth it!

works ok…except that it’s audio portion is nearly inaudible compared to my nest cameras which pick up gnats passing gas! BUT!!!…IT TOOK FOREVER TO RECEIVE THE ITEM WITH NO UPDATES ABOUT STATUS. in contrast, i ordered another from lowes three days after ordering from best buy, and it was delivered in three days…and about a week before the best buy camera arrived.

These cameras are good…WHEN THEY WORK! I have three…front yard, garage, side of house…and all THREE have needed replacement. These outdoor cameras might work well INITIALLY but when you need to recharge the batteries (WHICH ONLY LASTS 2WKS ON HIGH ALERT SETTING…NOWHERE NEAR THE 3-6 MTHS AS ADVERTISED) it’s been IMPOSSIBLE to get ALL of them backup and running again. This defeats the whole purpose; leaves me “naked and susceptible” when the whole point of having a home security system is so you can see protect and what’s going on around your home. If I knew before what I know now…I would NEVER have purchased these outdoor cameras and HIGHLY ADVISE you to look elsewhere! SimpliSafe outdoor cameras need A LOT of IMPROVEMENT by the company developers! This ain’t it!

Well priced and works excellently! The only thing to mention is that you need to make sure you have decent WiFi signal where you'd like to place this, otherwise you'll need a network extender.

Junk. Overated. Takes forever to launch live view after notification. Nothing to do with location-based, Wi-Fi issues etc. Works intermittently. Reset it , remove battery (which doesn't last anywhere close to 3 months) remove it, uninstall, re install. Works then does. Customer service would like you to think the problem is on users end. Read the reviews and comments. Common problem

I have 2 of these cameras, one on my driveway and one on the back of my house. They work great and are easy to set up. The batteries last for months before needing charged.

Sadly I didn't check Best Buy's reviews on these cameras before purchasing the system. Like many reviewers, I have had constant issues with disconnects and the inability to view the camera in Live Feed, as well as video captures failing to upload to the cloud so I can view them later. Essentially, this is an expensive paperweight (two of them in my case) since it neither provides real-time or post-event visibility with any reliability whatsoever. I'd guess, non-hyperbolically, that it's been "offline" for 80% of its total lifespan. I've talked to Simplisafe Support on numerous occasions and taken great pains to troubleshoot it, at the insistence of their tech people who swear up and down it's my Wifi. (incidentally, their indoor camera doesn't have this issue, nor does the base station, nor do any of the dozen other devices in my home) Now I can't return it being past the 60 day window even though I had been going back and forth with Simplisafe support for weeks, so I guess I'll just write off the almost 400 bucks and call it lesson learned. Will probably ditch the rest of the system as soon as I can find a replacement. Avoid these products at all costs.

I waited for over a year for SimpliSafe to fix this issue - they never did. I've had countless calls to their tech support - WORTHLESS. I've done countless updates/upgrades and it STILL NEVER WORKED! I ended up having to remove it and install $20 cameras - those works all day long. SO, unless you enjoy wasting a LOT of money/time, I would HIGHLY recommend steering clear of this piece of junk. Behavior: I would go to the SimpliSafe App, click on the camera, and it would go through its cycle: "Activating camera".. "Connecting to camera".. then it say something like displaying live view and just hang - I NEVER got an image. Their indoor and doorbell cameras all work fine, but the but the outdoor camera is GARBAGE. HEY SIMPLYSAFE, I have a few marketing ideas you could sell this thing under. How about: The expensive paperweight; A head butting target; A reminder of your regrettable decision; A test of your patience; The aggravation machine ... but it definitely should NOT include the word "camera" in the tile!

It works great for about a month and then it doesnt work properly anymore after you recharge the battery. The wifi connectivity is horrible. Simplisafe replaced my camera 3 times and I had the same issue every time. If they cant fix this issue they should not be selling cameras especially for this price.

Motion detection is just awful. It is far worse than other cameras. Everything else is also subpar. They should never have released it before working out the bugs. The app interface is also bad. They only care about sales and advertise this camera heavily. It plain sucks. !You have been warned

Bought this in September a month later batter wouldn’t stay charged now while camera won’t even work called the company they said basically we are out of luck since we didn’t buy them directly from SimpliSafe and pretty sure we are beyond the return window with Best Buy
