Great outdoor camera. Easy to mount, with the magnetic mounting bracket. Survived two hurricanes. Good night vision and pretty clear picture.

This camera is easily installed. Placed facing drive and one in the back of the home. Battery life is better in the camera on the rear of the home than the one in the front. However, the camera over the drive see much more activity than the rear one. Would recommend purchasing extra batteries to always have one charged and ready for swapping out low batteries without interruption.

The picture quality is great on 1080p. The only issue I have is the amount of time it takes to load the live view. We have the doorbell and it loads so much faster. The battery life isn’t very long per charge.

I purchased this from Best Buy after SimpliSafe's website said they sold out. I like the product and the ability to view videos in black and white or color is pretty neat. Color drains battery a little more, but that is a matter of preference. It has a pretty wide viewing angle and I can see pretty good with the camera aimed out at 30ft or more. Using the app to view recorded video and the ability to use the built in microphone are good. Mounting anchors with the screws hold the magnet to the wall pretty good. The only down side I can say is that the charging of the battery can take a while

Required the purchase of a wifi extender for patio camera. Needed to set cameras at lowest resolution to preserve battery strength (will hard wire soon to counteract this). Dovetails well with existing SimpliSafe system. Set up was straightforward.

Setup very easy. Battery life is horrible and its a pain to take the camera down to recharge. There is the ability to run ac power to it and use the battery as a backup. Quality video and easy to configure in app.

bought this camera to add; it was easy to add and install to existing security system. Camera displays a great clear picture and it has a wide angle; however, the base, that attaches to the wall unit, is a little difficult to maneuver when looking for the right angle to display.

I’m a long time Nest user and have an outdoor IQ cam, Hello doorbell, and this cam with the power cord. The new cam has decent image quality but still appears grainy to me sometimes despite being set to high resolution. I’d have given it 4 stars if that was the only issue. The bigger issue is that as of March 2022 the Google Home app’s support for the camera is still lacking and I’m losing faith that they have plans to improve this significantly. The ability to look at camera history is clunky, sometimes when clicking push notifications on iOS I get taken to a view that says the video stream isn’t available yet, and you can’t seem to save a custom period of time to a clip. You can only save a clip of the chunk of time the camera determined there was an event. For example I had a suspicious vehicle driving around one night and I could only save the 30 seconds to a minute or so of time that it considered it an event. I couldn’t save the rest of the time that the vehicle was moving around outside my set alert zone. It’s an ok camera, but if I wasn’t already invested in Google Nest I may have considered another option like Ring.

Thank you for your feedback. Our engineering team continues to work on improving the whole system, and especially the Outdoor Camera - and comments like yours are a big help. At this time, we have no further info regarding greater support for smart home platforms.

We should clarify though how our cameras work. They record only when triggered by motion or an alarm from the main system - they're geared for response, rather than act as full surveillance. That's why you only get those recordings. SimpliSafe

The picture quality is great. The bigget drawback is the battery life which is not that great. I would recommend getting a spare battery to avoid downtime. You can plug it up via a micro sd but you will have to account for rain. I would not recommend that route unless you place it under a covering.

This is hands down one of the worst cameras, let alone outdoors cameras I have ever used. We bought into the Simplisafe system and have several cameras, sensors all of that, but the design and integration of this one is mind boggling. Problem #1- Constant Disconnects and Inability to View This thing will not stay attached to our system no matter how hard I try or where I place it. For some reason they designed it to operate almost like a standalone camera? And you can forget live view. By the time it connects and brings it up, whatever you wanted to see is long gone. Problem #2 - Inconsistent Motion Detection We placed this by our front door since our home is historic and doesn't have the hookups for a doorbell. No biggie. What is a biggie is that this camera will miss movement 8 times out of 10 and if it does pick it up, it's ALWAYS delayed. So it will catch someone leaving instead of coming up. Problem #3 - System Treats Like a Third Party Camera One of the things I loved about simplisafe was the video capture when the alarm was armed or disarmed and when movement is detected. Guess what? No video provided from this camera. So when you disarm your system or arm it, only video feeds from internal cameras or the doorbell show up. Unacceptable if trying to figure out what family member just arrived home or is leaving. One more issue we have been having since this was installed is now the whole system is out of whack. Not sure if it's a coincidence but we get constant restarts and the home base saying "Welcome to Simplisafe" at least once a week. I used to give Simplisafe a pass since they were considered a more budget friendly option, but with the price of this camera and their monitoring fees being higher than the others at this point, I think it's time to look elsewhere.

I love Simplisafe. The company is there 110% behind their products and is willing to do what it takes to keep their customers happy. I have a number of their products including this outdoor camera. I love the ease of setup and the fact that it keeps working day in, day out without alot of hassles or maintentance. I have had other products (Ring doorbell cam, etc) that were glitchy, stopped working frequently with very long chat support sessions to restore function. Simplisafe understands that we have more important things to do than spend hours with tech support. Their products work. Tech support is knowledgeable for the few times Ive contacted them. I would recommend anything made by them. Camera has excellent range. Very good quality video during both day and night. Motion detection was very good, few false positives or negatives. Battery life was very good. (I did purchase an additional battery so when camera indicates battery is getting low, i charge the backup and then just swap the batteries. Means I only have to get up there once. Camera is mounted very high) I had Ring doorbell cams when they first came out and after Ring was bought by Amazon. Major headaches. Also have tried Eufy, Arlo and Wyze. I will stick with the Simplisafe, its that much better. It may cost more than some of the others but the quality and value is there. Worth every penny.

Camera is good it give a fine picture although I do not use the zoom feature as camera is set up as part of a security monitoring system. I am very disappointed with battery life quoted as about 3 months, we get 2 weeks only.
