I have been waiting for Simplysafe to get this on the market. The wait was worth it. Super easy to install, Software works, and the quality is what was expected. The App will display the battery status and I have had no issues with this camera or it functions. I want to purchase a second for my backyard.

The camera doesn't capture a single movemen from start to finish. Will break video into short clips often cutting off the important vidual aspects. Ive moved camera into various positions which may/or may not help. Birds, flags, banners alert sensors as well, not just people. In my case difficult to cover street to front door with this single camera - about 25 feet. The camera is placed on soffit above door. Tilted too high it'll pick up street movement but not cover front stoop where packages are left. Tilted to stoop at front door leaves out anyone approaching house. Possibly I need 2nd camera? This unit could be just right for someone else. Cold weather or constant movement by birds & flag, drain battery fast.

Expecting this camera for a long time. Reaction time of the camera is slow. But it’s meant to save battery life. (Stands by and reacts on movement) Really easy to install. Small form factor. Image quality is not that great. It does not look like full hd. The doorbell has better quality. But you have to stick with the brand if you don’t want to make it more complicated and have devices out of your alarm system.

Camera does very well. Only draw back if you have a lot of action on that zone, you may have to charge your battery.

Easy to install, and to use. However, it wasn’t as easy as my other SimpliSafe products. They may need to go back to drawing board with this product. I’m still having connection issues with camera.

The cameras were easy to setup and work fine. High quality in daylight and low/no light conditions. Not many "false positive's" due to cars driving past, etc. The AI to differentiate between actual movement vs wind blown items, or movement in the distance seems to work well. Battery life appears to be well (nearly a month in use), That life is noticeably impacted by camera use as recent yard work one day had camera constantly coming on and the power remaining status in that camera significantly dropped. Easy to activate "live" camera views from app as well as review triggered events based on motion. My only reservation (and reason for dinging one star) is that the camera is slow to activate live. If I get an alert of motion and I go to live view, it takes up to 5 or more seconds (I suspect that this is because its recording based on the trigger), so you have to wait to get control of the camera and/or view the recorded clip to see activity. If the camera is sitting idle and you activate it to view, it only takes a couple of seconds to get a live view. Overall, a nice addition, easy to install, looks modern, easy software setup and integration with the app, and works much better than reviews of the initial release would lead you to believe. They've obviously made some improvements to the software over time to address early issues.

We have the entire Simplisafe line and this was the best addition to date. Love the ease of install. The battery life is amazing. The images are clear and I am very impressed with the speed at which it notifies you.

I love the design of this outdoor camera and the ease of setting it up. I have not been able to find a solar panel for it yet so I have to recharge the batteries every couple months. I was happy that Simplisafe cited to come out with something more sturdy than the indoor camera. Good work.

I have installed many Poe security cameras and set up business grade systems. In moved in a house with no security system so I found these. Completely wireless! I thought they would be a no brainer. Well they work they sometimes capture motion. I have it tweaked and firmware updates have made it better. However the app sucks. It crashes when you need to view it in a timely manner. My wife thinks we would be shot before the camera would come up in the app. Very buggy. The battery life is less than a month usually. That’s setting to minimal alerts and motion. As it gets colder the batteries die quick. I have gotten got exercise getting the ladder out swapping batteries. For the cost wired cameras are way better and you can view them constantly. These are more like glorified trail cameras. I’m stuck with 4 for now.

These outdoor cameras have their ups and downs they either work perfectly one day or they work horrible the next . Never picks up actual people motion it only picks up motion during the day . Never the important stuff always picks up cars etc never people. But what is weird that some days they work perfectly fine until i end up switching the battery ...so please if you're looking for some nice cameras stay away from simplisafe they're garbage. For me it's a bit too late I can't return these cameras i payed almost 500$ for such a trash system . So please save your hard earned money and don't buy these horrible experiences.

Great camera! Be sure you have a 7/64 drill bit for the installation though if you need to pre-drill some holes for the screws. I didn't have the drill bit, so I had to wait to install the camera until I got one. Once I did, the installation was super easy. It's easy to view live feed and recordings with the simplisafe app. The app even notifies me every time that it detects motion. Plus, I can talk through it's speaker if I need to. Camera quality is a solid 1080p. Live feed is free, but I did upgrade to the cloud storage subscription ($9.99 per month). Doing so keeps the last 30 days worth of recordings which is helpful for when I want to review footage that has already happened.

Very easy to set up. So far the battery seems to last long. Just be sure to follow the instructions on maximum height limits. As always success depends on your homes Wi-Fi range. Probably would have given 5 stars if the price was better.

I recently purchased new Arlo cameras to replace my old ones. We couldn’t get the cameras to connect to my wifi, so the Hellotech guy recommended I consider the SimpliSafe outdoor cameras since I already use there security system. I didn’t even have remove the Arlo brackets, all I had to do what replace these with the Arlo devices and I was back in business. I also had the solar panels installed to save on battery light replament time.

Great, but you will want to get a solar panel battery charger, otherwise you will have to be without the camera while you charge the battery. Also, I have WiFi issues sometimes, but that could be my house.
